Sun Enters Aries (Vernal Equinox) 2016-03-19

The Vernal Equinox occurs March 19th in most of the United States and March 20th in UK / Europe.  (Click here for more about the change of seasons in 2016.)  We have a Focused Yod present.  (For more about Focused Yods in 2016, click here.)  That pattern requires you to make a decision (choose wisely!) but also gives you the power to “get things done” once you have made that decision.  That pattern occurring at this time will give you both a similar requirement and a similar advantage until at least the Summer Solstice and possibly as long as the Vernal Equinox in 2017.

Here is the chart for the Vernal Equinox of 2016, filtered for the Focused Yod:

Other patterns are also present, including a Hele and a Square Key.  For more about Hele patterns in 2016, click here.  For more about Square Keys in 2016, click here.

Here is the same chart filtered for the Hele, an ongoing pattern at this time that contains Uranus, Pluto, Astraea, and the North Node (also known as Rahu, sometimes called “hard karma,” and a point in space rather than a physical planet).  You are making decisions about who will be your long term alliances this month, and that continues to be an important issue today:

The ongoing Square Key also tells us that you will be learning important “lessons” at this time.  Saturn, Uranus, Pluto, and the North Node are involved, so the “lessons” could be a bit harsh at times.  If you survive them, you will have new ideas, be fundamentally transformed in some way, and be aware of what is essential.

Here is the chart for the ongoing (longer term) Square Key:

As we have written elsewhere, higher order aspects with outer planets are also in play today.  (These also tend to be “longer term.”)  For your convenience we will present some of that analysis here (but click the link if you want more):

Sun biseptiles Saturn, and we should consider resolving some old karma or helping someone less fortunate than ourselves or both.  Sun quintiles Pluto, and we may encounter a very ingenious idea that either (a) helps us with the biseptiles (helping someone else) or (b) gives us a gift in the form of a smart idea that comes from providing said help.  Venus is also novile Uranus today, providing us with an important insight or skill.  [click here to read more]

A Grand Fire Trine is also present today (today only), and that tells us that we face an opportunity (particularly strong if you are heavy in your personal chart with Fire / Air signs).  Here is the same chart filtered for the Grand Fire Trine:

2016-03-19 Calendar of Aspects

March 2016 (Mars Out)

Week 12 (W12)

In most of the United States, except the Eastern Time Zone (EDT), the Vernal Equinox greets us late tonight.  (EU / UK experience this a half past 5 or half past 6 or later depending upon time zone.)

In any case, they go together and they set the stage for the days to come at least until the Summer Solstice (late June) or possibly as long as the Vernal Equinox of next year (late March)…

2016-03 W11: Forecasts for Week 11 of 2016

March 8th is the next lunation, and it is a Solar Eclipse (New Moon).  Many states (including Texas) switch to Daylight Savings Time on the Sunday that follows.

March 2016 (Mars Out)

Week 11 (W11)

Sunday March 6th

After last week, you may want a break but Sun square Saturn will not give you one. Duty calls in some form, maybe business or family, and you must attend to it. Much chatter will emerge, and some of it may be continued disputes form the recent Mercury / Mars aspect (and change of signs). Lessons can be learned and skills can be developed. Pay attention. Get things done. And, when you get a chance, give yourself a break and get some rest anyway.

That would be enough, but Jupiter quincunx Uranus perfects today.  You have felt it building for the last few weeks in the form of a sense of false hopes or miscommunications between issues of bookkeeping or accounting, healthcare (especially healthcare professionals) and issues involving a battle between order and chaos on one hand, and issues of energy, the ability to accomplish tasks, possibly anger or violence, and leadership.  It is all very complex, and you will have to identify how it applies in your particular situation.  But, some time this weekend through the upcoming eclipse you will likely see things “come to a head” in some way.  Change is afoot, and “things” will be different after Tuesday.

Monday March 7th

Mercury semisquares Uranus and any angry words we have spoken in the last few days resurface and may be amplified.  For some people, they will be broadcast and re-broadcast.  Be careful what you say.  Vesta (traditions and “doing things the way we have always done them” is void until 6:50 PM CST and this further contributes to “things” going awry and unintended consequences.  You may have some good ideas (Mars quintile Jupiter), but consider writing them down and saving them for another day.  A Solar Eclipse perfects tomrrow and the Moon is very “old.”  That makes this a better time to “clean house” (literally or figuratively) and reflect rather than take action on new projects.

Tuesday March 8th

Today is the day of the Solar Eclipse, a very special type of New Moon.  Sun and Moon join together and each oppose Jupiter (with each individual opposition perfecting at slightly different times on this same day in most time zones).  Saturn (Sagittarius) squares this combination to form a T-Square.  Virgo / Pisces (and Sagittarius) issues are at the forefront as we begin a new cycle in more than one way.  The New Moon governs the 28 day lunar cycle, but the messages of the eclipse apply at least until the other eclipses later this year.  Ceres (prosperity in general and food in particular) BiQuintiles Black Moon Lilith (a point governing taboo issues in general and taboo sexual practices in particular).  This is a difficult aspect to interpret, and we suggest you identify how it applies in your individual situation.  Pallas BiQuintiles the North Node (another point, associated with karma), and we may have some important ideas about how to handle difficult “karmic” situations in our life.

Wednesday March 9th

Whether perfection of the eclipse fell in on yesterday in your time zone or on today, you will still “feel” it.  As we move further past the eclipse, we can start thinking about taking action on some of the ideas that we have noted on previous days.

BUT, the Moon remains v/c (void of course) from yesterday until 1:39 PM CST. That means we have to wait until some time after 1:39 PM CST to make our desired launch today. Keep in mind that the further you can move away from a “sign change boundary” the better (unless you have Venus or Jupiter near the cusp of Aries). That means later in the day as much as possible.

With the North Node semisextile Black Moon Lilith (both points in space, so to some degree this reflects the Earth’s alignment at this time), we have taboo topics (especially taboo sexual topics) bubbling to the surface and may face some “hard karma” in dealing with them. Today is anything but ordinary for many (if not most) people. Venus Novile Pluto says we can learn a lesson here (both can, and do, deal with Love (Venus) and Sex (Pluto)). Venus is also TriSeptile the North Node, and this brings the idea that doing a totally selfless (best if anonymous, also) act to help someone else might relieve at least a little of our “hard karma.”

Thursday March 10th

This is a busy day with a number of higher order aspects perfecting.  We note Sun conjunct Chiron today.  This is an annual aspect that brings health, education, mentoring, and “the Wounded Healer” to the forefront.  Venus quadrinovile Jupiter tells us that we can learn an important lesson or skill that will serve us well in the future.  Keep in mind that this might seem like something trivial because Quadrinoviles often bring us skills that are useful in thefuture (but not yet currently).  Mercury novile Uranus may bring us one or more additional lessons.  Venus quintile Saturn may also bring us a smart, but practical, idea.  Septiles suggest that we help someone less fortunate than ourselves.

Friday March 11th

Today you may feel an urgent need to get things done, but that may not go so well unless you are working writing poetry or song lyrics, doing a photoshoot, or making a video or movie. Scammers and thieves will tend to be more active today, so make certain you do not believe anything a stranger says or buy what they try to sell you. Even family members may be suspect. Stick to the poetry or photography.

Saturday March 12th

Venus enters Pisces today.  This is great for creatives, one of the best possible situations, but not so good for finances.  Similar to yesterday (except that it is with us for a few weeks), this empowers scammers.  Put off major purchases for a few weeks if at all possible.  Certainly avoid speculative endeavors.  As mentioned before, the best use of these few weeks is in developing your abilities with writing poetry or lyrics, photography, or videography.  Other arts may flourish also, but the ones explicitly mentioned work best.

Sun Sextile Saturn 2016-02-03 (W06)

We do not find any aspect patterns, so we focus on sextiles at this time.  Three occur on this date: (1) Sun Sextile Saturn; (2) Mercury Sextile Chiron; and (3) Mars Sextile Pluto.  Today is mostly a benevolent day, a “nose to the grindstone” workday, with some extra energy from Mars Sextile Pluto.  Here is the chart:

2016-02-03 Sun Sextile Saturn

We note that (1) this is a repeating annual aspect that (2) occurs in mirror images (twice a year) and (3) the next aspect (the mirror image) is October 4th and affects roughly a week long window (as does this one).  The previous Sun Sextile Saturn was on September 23, 2015, and the conjunction occurred November 29, 2015.  A check of your notes (or diary) on (or near) those dates might provide insights to your current situation.

Here is a list of the perfections of this aspect  throught 2040:

Sun Saturn Conjunction and Sun Square Neptune 2015-11-29

Sun Saturn Conjunction and Sun Square Neptune 2015-11-29

The Sun conjoins Saturn and a few hours later squares Neptune.  This is a powerful reflection of the recent Saturn / Neptune square, and this day will be tied to the later Saturn / Neptune squares in 2016.  If your birthday is between November 26th and December 2nd, then this will be an important year for you.  (This could apply as early as November 24th and as late as December 4th.)  This aspect perfects with a very late void moon and a Thor’s Hammer in play.

Sun Semisquare Venus 2015-10-07

This is the kind of day where you know something is bothering you but you may not be sure why.  An urgent push to “get things done” seems to pervade the atmosphere.  It is the kind of thing that is urgent at the moment but you likely will not remember it in a month and almost certainly will not remember it in a year.  The Moon forms a Yod with Pluto and Chiron, and you must make a decision between healing in the more ordinary sense and “radical transformation” (aka “death”).  The decision may not be obvious to you except in hindsight at some later date.  Here is the chart, filtered for 8th Harmonic aspects (semi-squares along with squares and oppositions):

Sun Semisquare Venus 2015-10-07 (8th Harmonic)

If that chart is too “noisy” and difficult to read, try this one specifically filtered for semi-squares:

Sun Semisquare Venus 2015-10-07

We should note that this last version of the chart also points out that the Sun is also semi-square Saturn, and that means that Venus square Saturn is in process.  Venus Square Saturn will perfect October 10th, in a few days.

Upcoming events:

Recent Events:

This sequence of aspects (a pattern in and of itself) is intricate and not necessarily obvious.  Mars opposite Neptune often brings deceit and scams.  Sun semisquare both Venus and Saturn brings a sense that “something is wrong.”  Mercury direct station brings the idea that “something must be done.”  Venus square Saturn, with Thor’s Hammer, brings a rage that can lead to violence and possibly death.  This mix is rather unpleasant unless you choose to elevate your consciousness sufficiently to re-direct these energies in other outlets.

Sun Sextile Saturn 2015-09-23 (Mystic Rectangle and more)

Sun sextile Saturn is an excellent day for “getting things done.”  But, this is nothing short of an amazing day.  (We have great expectations for children born on this day.)  Why is it amazing?

(1) A Mystic Rectangle occurs.  These are both rare and incredibly fortuitous.

(2) An amazing 5th harmonic pattern occurs that greatly resembles a Star of David pattern

Here is this chart for the perfection of Sun Sextile Saturn, filtered for the Mystic Rectangle:

2015-09-23 Sun Sextile Saturn (Mystic Rectangle)[Click Image to Enlarge]

And here is the same chart filtered for the 5th order harmonics (quintiles and biquintiles):

2015-09-23 Sun Sextile Saturn (5th Order Harmonics)[Click Image to Enlarge]

Since, apparently, no name exists for this pattern, we will call it a “Quintile Star of David.”  (This is likely not a “perfect” version of the “Quintile Star of David” since that would require Mars Opposite Neptune in this case.)

These rather amazing patterns form on the same day as the Sun conjoins the North Node, forming a particularly powerful kite pattern.

Sun Trine Saturn 2015-07-21: Kite, Mystic Rectangle, Hele, and Rosetta

Sun Trine Saturn 2015-07-21

We see a rather curious situation on Tuesday: a Moon v/c overlaps with a void Sun (nobody seems to talk about those, but they do happen about once a month: i.e. the time from when the Sun makes the last major aspect in a sign until when it enters another sign) to create a double void.  These seem like a good time only for cleaning house and getting the trash ready to go out.  (But not actually taking it out until after the sign change because you might accidentally have a lost object in the trash.)

HOWEVER, we see in the chart of this aspect (Sun Trine Saturn) on this day FOUR patterns (not counting HLT’s): (1) A Kite (an opportunity); (2) A Mystic Rectangle (an unusual window which likely contains a special opportunity); (3) a Hele (a strong polarizing influence); and (4) a Rosetta (also a polarizing influence, but the alliances are very fleeting and temporary).

How to interpret?  We are not certain.  Without considering the patterns, we would say this: “The Sun Trine Saturn aspect on Tuesday indicates that this is a time when we work hard and might could accomplish a few things.  Traps exist in (1) a moon v/c from about 6a CDT Tuesday until a little before 9:30a CDT Tuesday and (2) the Sun’s aspect to Saturn that marks a double void that ends when the Moon moves into Libra (but with the Sun still void until 2330 CDT Wednesday).  Stick to routine during these periods.”

But, the patterns are there.  So we modify our recommendation to this: be careful what allegiances your form at this time.  Some will be lasting but others may be treacherous and at best temporary.  Working alone might be the smartest move, but chances are good you might need the help of others.  And at least one opportunity, perhaps a superb opportunity, is hidden within the events of Tuesday.  If your discernment is good, you can gather the resources together today to launch something very special by the time of the next Full Moon.  And, in particular, avoid launching anything important during the double void.

Here are the charts, filtered in sequence for (1) the Kite (an opportunity); (2) the Mystic Rectangle (an unusual window which likely contains a special opportunity); (3) the Hele (a strong polarizing influence); and (4) the Rosetta (fleeting alliances which might be treacherous):
