Tuesday February 9th (W07)

We are still feeling the power of yesterday’s New Moon in Aquarius (and start of the Chinese New Year, the year of the Yang Fire Monkey).  Today is dominated by Mars Trine Chiron and the early morning entry of the Moon into Pisces.  Mars Trine Chiron is all about healing issues, and so can be the Moon in Pisces.  With Moon in Pisces, “healing” can take the form of creativity (poetry, lyrics, photography, video) or anonymously helping others less fortunate than ourselves without any thought about some later benefit to ourselves.

Mercury forms a novile to Saturn, and we may learn an important skill involving details or paperwork.  Vesta (traditions) is quite active: (1) Chiron semisextile Vesta; (2) Mars quincunx Vesta; and (3) Vesta triseptile the North Node.  We have to address tradition and “doing things the way we have always done them,” and we continue to receive indications that some of those traditions are due for a makeover if not outright radical change.

Things could go BOOM! this week.

Different events have been signaling the kinds of strained relations and flaring tempers that can be associated with the Grand Cross formation of 2014.  February 17/18 will show us the first alignment of the group (foreshadowing the Alignment of April 20th).

The above chart is indicated as the “beginning” by Solar Fire, but the alignment has been “beginning” for some months (years?) now.  Given that this is an outer planet chart and that it really governs (at least) the two 24 hour periods of Feb 17 and Feb 18, a chart of a “moment” may be questionable.  Regardless, here is the above data cast in “beginner” chart format under Solar Fire:

A bit more interesting is a chart that emerges the following morning (during rush hour for CST / EST):

Grand Cross Chiron Rises 2-15-2014 11-13-20 PMRetrograde Mercury, Sun, Neptune and Chiron are all in the 12th house in this chart; Saturn, North Node, Ceres, Vesta, and Mars are in the 8th house.   Moon has perfected a square to Jupiter and opposition to Uranus (forming a T-Square).  Hard to say, but we think this will be an “interesting” period, particularly for geography experiencing rush hour.

A grand trine follows on the 20th / 21st and Thor’s Hammers as well.  We should see an interesting week.

This appears to primarily affect the time period of rush hour on Thursday.  However, since it is primarily an outer planet alignment (Jupiter and Uranus with Saturn at the apex!), it really affects the days (and maybe weeks) preceding and following the alignment.  Frankly, it looks like a bit of a rough week.  (Adam Lanza’s birth chart had a Thor’s Hammer.  So did the chart for the Fukishima earthquake and tsunami in 2011.)  Some things might go boom.

The Moon activates the Grand Cross again, and I suspect that the United States (and perhaps the rest of the planet) will feel this in the form of the winter storm (“Polar Vertex”) already predicted by the weather service.

Specifically, the Moon first opposes Uranus in Aries (surprises and accidents, as many of us have noted in the past few years) and then squares Pluto in Capricorn (which can be banks, police, and intelligence agencies, but the Ruler of the Underworld (Pluto) is famous for bringing ice and snow).  Notice that this is an “activation” of the ongoing Uranus / Pluto square that has been the subject of much discussion and that affects us from 2012 to 2015.

Finally, the Moon squares Jupiter as its last act in this Grand Cross.  Jupiter makes things larger (will this be a larger storm than forecasted?), and Jupiter is in the sign of the Moon, Cancer.  As a parting shot, the Moon will conjoin Mars, an aspect that usually favors athletes and trial lawyers but is typically difficult for most of the rest of us. After meeting Mars, the Moon will turn void (v/c) until it enters Scorpio and moves to meet Saturn.  (i.e. difficulties will continue)

January 21st and 22nd will tend to be dangerous.  Would be smart to stock up on supplies before the rush begins.

We’ll see other interesting events, including possibly more intrigues with intelligence agencies.  Let us hope that we do not see anyone else shot for sending a text message to their babysitter while in a cinema.

Please do note that emotions run high with this Grand Cross.

We are entering an “interesting” (and dangerous) period.  What will come is presaged by the Grand Cross of January 7th:

As you can see, the main players are Mars, Jupiter, Uranus, and Pluto.  The Uranus / Pluto square series has been discussed elsewhere on this site and on other sites.  We point out that adding Mars / Jupiter to the mix is a particularly powerful activation.  I tend to think of the Uranus / Pluto combination as a bit like a spark looking for a fuel / air mixture to make something go “boom.”  Mars / Jupiter tends to be a fuel / air mixture.

When this is in the form of a spark plug igniting gasoline in the cylinder of an automobile (or other vehicle), then the combination is useful.  But when it is a spark in a coal mine that makes coal dust go boom, this is very bad.

US Map Grand Cross 1-6-2014 11-58-56 PMAlso, this pattern may mark an important turning point in the ongoing story of the NSA and Edward Snowden.  Using the data from this version of Edward Snowden’s chart, namely the June 21, 1983 / 0442 EDT / Elizabeth City NC data, yields a chart that shows (1) a Scorpio Moon applying (loosely) to an opposition to Algol, (2) Mars Conjunct North Node in first house, and (3) Sun conjunct Betelgeuse.

His 8th house (house of spies, intelligence agencies, and assassinations) is intercepted, and the ruler of the 8th (Saturn) is conjunct Pluto (planet of spies, intelligence agencies, and assassinations) in the 5th house (of speculation, luck, and gambling).

A turning point is coming for him soon (this month, January).  Sadly, chances for confinement look pretty strong for him.

But confinement will escalate his stature as a folk hero.  (The authorities will make a terrible mistake if they succeed in doing that.  Public perception will be a bit like looking at Darth Vader attempting to strike down Obi-Wan Kenobi when the supposedly feeble old man gently states “If you strike me down, I shall become more powerful than you could possibly imagine.”)

Do not be surprised to hear some compare him to Nelson Mandela should Snowden be imprisoned.

If the government REALLY wants to punish him, they should assist him in writing a NY Times bestseller and going on a really LONG book tour.  (Rumor has it that those book tours can be rather strenuous. 🙂  )

Jupiter squares Uranus and Grand Cross for 2014

The planet to watch in 2014 is Jupiter.  By far it is the most active, with a number of tales to tell.  Ruling the legal system, universities and higher education, animals and animal welfare, and infidelity, Jupiter dominates the outer planet events of 2014 until late November.  (Late November and December has a new and different drama that prepares us for 2015.)  The most potent (explosive) of these is the Grand Cross of April 20th.

Here is a summary of the two squares (the second of which is part of the Grand Cross):

(1) Jupiter squares Uranus on February 26th.  This, and any activating New or Full Moons, sets the stage for the big events on or near August 20th.  Do not be surprised to see explosions, earthquakes, school shooters, etc. at this time.

(2) April 20th: Jupiter Squares Uranus and Opposes Pluto (on the same day!) with retrograde Mars in Aquarius completing the Grand Cross.  All of this happens close to 15 degrees of the four fixed signs (the points in the zodiac associated with the “Quarter Days”).  This is even more volatile than the first square.  Sun is on or near the point associated with the birth of Adolph Hitler.

(3) Particularly interesting are the interlocking Double Yod Keys of November 8th.  These occur with the Sun at 16 degrees (basically aligned with the points of the Grand Cross of April 20th) and the day after the Cross Quarter Day associated with Scorpio.  (We speak of the Cross Quarter Day as it occurs astrologically rather than by any particular tradition or ritual.)

Other activations in April and May show that this may be an “interesting” time for the financial markets.
