Opinion and Comments (tl;dr?)

This is still longer than I would like (tl;dr), but I want to make certain that my regular readers (and I do have regular readers, especially from Europe and the “Pacific Rim” countries) have an understanding of the upcoming changes to this blog and related blogs.

If you are an astrologer, or aspire to become one, you might like our new piece titled “The 12th House Swamp.”

Our revisions to our sites, methods, reblogs, and posting continue.  If you want to read the details, read the archived page at “Grandtrines Archive 2020-05-23.”  For now, updates will typically be once a week, usually on weekends.  That statement does not prohibit intermediate updates from time to time.  Reblogs will be limited to certain sites, as listed below.  (We might add sites if a request is made, and we will stop reblogs if anyone wishes that change.)

In the upcoming aspects, listed previously in this page, sensitive dates are highlighted in red.  Because these are NOT lunar aspects (except the eclipses), the day or two PRECEDING them (and sometimes day or two following them) can be affected (and often are).  Plan accordingly.

Here is the list of bloggers that I will primarily reblog from (until further notice):

If you LIKE for me to reblog your work (and, therefore, expand your audience) and do not see your name on the list, do not despair.  These are just the regulars that immediately come to mind at the moment.  Other astrology blogs will be added as well as those on other topics.

My own astrology work will also be restructured.   I have in mind a specialty blog on astrology from a certain viewpoint that I have not seen done elsewhere.  Others are similar, including the work of JBuss.  But, as far as I know, this particular viewpoint is (currently, as of May, 2020) unique.  Once that blog is launched, I will post a link here.

As mentioned previously, I plan to resurrect Mystic Rectangles as a repository of astrological calendar pages.  This will only appeal to a small number of people, primarily other astrologers who find weekly and monthly “day pages” to be useful.

I am leaning towards writing a SHORT weekly forecast on Weekly Forecasts each week.  If I do write forecasts there, they will probably be written on Saturday or Sunday for the upcoming week, maybe with one or two in the WordPress “queue” to automatically publish if I have computer problems. (And, those do happen.)

For those who use and interpret them, Marsout and Sunout monthly calendars (both tropical geocentric and heliocentric) are further down this page.

(I plan to continue this, for now.)

Spinoffs

We started a few new blogs, spinoffs, in April (of 2017), and they might interest you:

Getting the bugs out of a new blog takes, at a minimum, a few days or a week, and possibly as much as a few months. While these specialty blogs are on hold for the moment, I hope to resurrect them “soon” (some time in 2018).

This Week in Astrology

Conventional webmaster wisdom says you do not direct people to a site other than one of your own.  That said, we go against that wisdom here by recommending you take a look at “This Week in Astrology.”

Lost Dudeist Astrology (and others)

Many people prefer our sibling site “Lost Dudeist Astrology,” a spinoff from this one.  On Grandtrines, we focus almost entirely on astrology, astrological forecasts, astrological analysis of current events and other astrology topics.

Most of our readers prefer that approach, but some want a wider diet.  Lost Dudeist Astrology (the name is based on “The Dude” and “Dudeism“) is almost entirely reblogs of astrology, numerology, tarot card based predictions, some pinups, and sometimes controversial (or “tinfoil hat,” sometimes called “fake news”) topics.  Think of it as being a bit like a metaphysics website with a “National Enquirer” or “Star” feel to it.  We also maintain the following sites:

  • Mystic Rectangles: monthly (Marsout) aspectarians and low volume of posts; excellent for subscriptions; best fit for astrology for mobile devices.
  • Weekly Forecasts is just what the name says: weekly forecasts posted once a week for the upcoming week with some reblogs of similar material from other bloggers.  [As of 2017-01-01: Our own work is on hold indefinitely, but we plan to continue reblogs of weekly and monthly forecasts of others.]

You may also be interested in the reblogs of content by other astrologers on the posts page.  We are working on a project on Long Term Forecasts.  Frankly, we do not expect to complete this project in our lifetime.  Your feedback, as we go, is appreciated.
