The ideas here are simply too good not to steal. However, when I use them in my analysis of the septile family, I will mention your name. By the way, what I have been reading about the Septile family is that it is “karmic,” a working through of issues that are part of destiny. Your thoughts on that? (Other sources also claim “scientific breakthroughs.”)

It’s kind of like the old story about the Brain and the Heart arguing about which Organ was Most Important to the Organism, when the Anus walked in, but if I had to Choose a single Angle as The Most Important one, I’d Choose the Septile.  That’s one seventh of the way ’round the Zodiacal loop.  The Seventh Harmonic is about Stillness in Readiness for Action, very Aikido-like.

I simplify interpretation of the Septile as Timing.  Think about that Prophesy that you’d meet your Soulmate in the Produce Department.  Unless your Soulmate works there, your Chances of meeting them are pretty slim if you don’t also know What Time You Need to Be There!  Of course it’d be Intuitive, but the “Left” Brain will understand what we mean.

In the 25 April 2020 Pluto Station chart there’s a rather remarkable chain of Septiles…

Venus in Taurus (Home) Sextile Neptune in PIsces (Home) 2020-03-22

This is a “feel good” day with a “feel good” aspect that can be critically important to creatives, notably poets & lyricists, photographers and videographers, and anything similar.  It tends to be rare, but if you screw up and miss the opportunity you MIGHT can get it again in 2021, 2022, 2023, or 2024.  After that, the window does not re-open until 2176.

A bit of warning is in order: Mars conjunct Pluto is also applying.  Care must be taken to avoid being susceptible to delusions produced by unscrupulous people (scammers and other criminals and agents of deceit).  Working alone, or only with trusted others, is advisable.

We suggest you seize the dreams and ideas that come to you today and grow and harvest them through the windows of opportunity that exist until 2024.  After that, either you have done it or you should give up.

For some odd reason, I keep hearing “Tubular Bells” as I draft this entry about this aspect:

(Particularly the section from 17:00 to 18:49, just before Richard Burton announces “Grand Piano.”)

Today is an important day for many of us. Today can be a turning point if you are a creative, or if you want to be a creative.  Write that poem, craft those lyrics, capture that rare photo or video.  The window is open.  Seize the opportunity.

  • Please note the Venus / South Node Sesquiquadrate (135 degrees): This produces a profound sense of urgency to perform the tasks that you know best.  You may not “grow” into a new area, but you CAN demonstrate mastery with existing skills!  And, if you push just a wee bit, you can reach into new areas and establish yourself there.  (Venus Semi-square North Node)

When we tighten the orbs, all aspects disappear except (1) Venus Sextile Neptune, and (2) the Venus / Node aspects.  This is a powerful signal about the need to seize those fleeting thoughts onto paper or some trusted medium.  If you cannot act now, seize the ideas anyway.  You will need them.

March 18th through 19th of 2020: Sun in Pisces, Anaretic and Saturn in Capricorn, Anaretic

This is easy to miss; I almost did.  As such, this entry is later than I would like (i.e., we have entered the 24 hour period as I write this).

The anaretic degree of any sign has been discussed at length.  Specifically, it is the final degree of a sign before a planet moves into a new sign.  Outer planets (capable of retrograde) may cross this region several times.  Cafe Astrology has an excellent explanation of the anaretic degree.  I will not duplicate their work except for a modification.

My original understanding of the anaretic degree came from a presenter at UAC ’98 (I think maybe Carol Wiggers, a William Lilly expert).  She sold me on Lilly.  While my depth of understanding is not “deep” in the ordinary sense of the word (except maybe for Lewi, who I read and re-read), my favorite astrologers are Grant Lewi, Dane Rudhyar, William Lilly, and Anthony Louis.  Of these, only Louis is still alive, and he has a WordPress blog!  Indeed, I have reblogged some of his most excellent content.

So, my point about the anaretic degree is this: if I understand Lilly correctly, he treated the final three degrees of a sign as “fated.”  Free will might exist in other areas, but not in the final three, and especially not in the “anaretic” (or final) degree.  Cafe Astrology, on the other hand, portrays the degree as “indecisive.”

The two viewpoints are not mutually exclusive (one could be indecisive because “fate” is actually driving the decision), but they are not necessarily the same, either.  The analysis you are reading is based on this understanding of mine.  (Lilly also called the first three degrees “too early to tell.”  While Lilly strictly applied it to horary, I apply it to other areas and, in my opinion, it works.)

Let’s get started.  Here is a head’s up of my main points:

  1. The five point stellium is obvious and does not differ significantly for the charts of entry of Sun into the anaretic degree (the entire focus of this entry) for charts for New York, Los Angeles, or Plano (my location). And, none of the regular patterns we look at (T-Square, Grand Trine, Grand Cross, etc.) are present in these charts.
  2. The most important thing is that BOTH the Sun AND Saturn are in anaretic degrees during this period.  (That is unusual.)  Specifically, the Sun is in the anaretic degree of Pisces (possibly the most powerful of all anaretic degrees since it is truly about endings) and Saturn is in the anaretic degree of Capricorn (its home!).  Saturn MUST make a statement of some kind before it leaves home.  And the Sun is in the same position as we close out one astrological year and start another.
  3. A triangular fifth harmonic pattern exists.  I identify this will little commentary, preferring that others reblog my work and add their own commentary.
  4. A triangular seventh harmonic pattern exists.  Again, I offer little commentary for the same reason as previous.
  5. I offer a number of maps.  While all are interesting to some greater or lesser degree, only three are truly compelling: (1) Western Canada (which places both Saturn and Pluto on the Fourth House Cusp, sometimes called either the “final resting place” or, more explicitly, “the grave”); (2) China (and that would seem obvious, but seeing the astrological maps confirming it is noteworthy) and (3) the UK (again, obvious based on what is happening there but, again, seeing the astrological maps confirming it is noteworthy).
  6. The other maps DO have stories to tell, just not quite as much as Canada / China / UK.
  7. I think this set of charts might tell us more about what happening than the Vernal Equinox charts..  (But, the Vernal Equinox charts, via the Thor’s Hammer pattern, hint that some serious “unrest” could be facing us.)

Fifth Harmonic Aspects

The 5th harmonic connections of Mercury (communications and transportation), Venus (values and finances and sometimes health), and Astraea (law and legal matters) foretells possible innovations emerging from the coming difficulties.  But Mercury ties into the Thor’s Hammer, so difficult lessons may face us first.

Seventh Harmonic Aspects

The connection of Juno (trust and betrayal), Saturn (often difficult and painful lessons), and the North Node (“fate” or “karma) using septiles (high order lessons involving karma that CAN produce breakthrough insights) seems to foretell the Thor’s Hammer of the coming Vernal Equinox.

United States Map

At least four different sets of lessons face the United States, varying by part of the country.

Canada Map

Western Canada has Saturn and Pluto on IC (Fourth House Cusp) lines; this location (Fourth House Cusp) is sometimes called the “Final Resting Place,” or “the grave.”

United Kingdom

UK is hit by so many lines that interpretation appears to be difficult.  But, it looks like a rough ride for them.  Since we already know that, the astrology is merely confirming the obvious.

Australia and New Zealand

Similar to the UK, one of the coasts of Australia is hit by a cluster of lines, a sign of challenges.

Europe

The EU is too complex to cover in a single entry.  This can be viewed as “homework” or, alternatively, someone else might choose to produce an analysis.

China

Similar to the UK and Australia, a large number of lines go through China.  Again, this simply tells us what we already know.

Japan

Japan faces complex and sophisticated lessons.  What interpretation?  Unclear.  But do not be surprised if Japan is the one to develop a cure or vaccine.  The multiple crossings tell us of sophisticated thinking about this thorny problem (Coronavirus, Covid19).

India

Two DISTINCTLY different regions and approaches.  SOME of the ingenuity of Japan is seen here, also.

Southeast Asia

This is merely a “zoomed out” viewpoint of other maps (China, India, & Japan).  However, it could facilitate analysis of other regions.

A Quick Note Regarding the Pulse Shooter

A Quick Note Regarding the Pulse Shooter

For those of you who are not regular readers, the analyses and predictions for Week 24 and Week 25 (i.e. “the quiet after a series of terrifying events” noted in the June 17th analysis) were written several weeks ago, LONG before the shooter at Pulse over the weekend, the stabbing of the 12 year old in France, or the shooter in Amarillo TX this week.  And, we did not QUITE get it right when we wrote the following about last Saturday (Week 24, written in late May / early June):

Today has Mars Septile Pluto, the aspect of karma for both warrior planets.  [emphasis added]  A very smart thing to do with this is to do something for a disabled veteran you know (or for disabled veterans in general).  This will benefit you in important ways that you cannot see yet.  Alternatively, you can do the same especially regarding any kind of “widows and orphans” fund for police or firefighters.

While we could be wrong, we suspect that if the shooter had been treated as a “disabled veteran” and some “kindness” (mental health care? at least a counselor of some kind?) had been shown to him, the possibility exists that the outcome might have been very, very different.  We are NOT saying that he was not unstable or dangerous.  We ARE saying that the danger he presented might could have been eliminated if someone had spoken up and provided mental health care for him.  Since he was a licensed security guard, passing gun control legislation would have done nothing whatsoever to have stopped this event.  Only an intervention such as a mental health intervention could have prevented it.  Until we fix our broken mental health system, and the “karma” related to how we care for those who have become unstable, these kinds of events will continue.

Gun control laws only provide a false sense that, somehow, we are “safe” because a law was passed.  But that is a “band-aid fix” that does not get to the root problem.  We suspect that, if guns were not available, the Pulse shooter would have resorted to explosives as Timothy McVeigh did and as “suicide bombers” in the Middle East continue to do so.  We would not be safe, not at al.  (See, also: West, TX.)  Gun control laws don’t help much with those….

Sun Enters Aries (Vernal Equinox) 2016-03-19

The Vernal Equinox occurs March 19th in most of the United States and March 20th in UK / Europe.  (Click here for more about the change of seasons in 2016.)  We have a Focused Yod present.  (For more about Focused Yods in 2016, click here.)  That pattern requires you to make a decision (choose wisely!) but also gives you the power to “get things done” once you have made that decision.  That pattern occurring at this time will give you both a similar requirement and a similar advantage until at least the Summer Solstice and possibly as long as the Vernal Equinox in 2017.

Here is the chart for the Vernal Equinox of 2016, filtered for the Focused Yod:

Other patterns are also present, including a Hele and a Square Key.  For more about Hele patterns in 2016, click here.  For more about Square Keys in 2016, click here.

Here is the same chart filtered for the Hele, an ongoing pattern at this time that contains Uranus, Pluto, Astraea, and the North Node (also known as Rahu, sometimes called “hard karma,” and a point in space rather than a physical planet).  You are making decisions about who will be your long term alliances this month, and that continues to be an important issue today:

The ongoing Square Key also tells us that you will be learning important “lessons” at this time.  Saturn, Uranus, Pluto, and the North Node are involved, so the “lessons” could be a bit harsh at times.  If you survive them, you will have new ideas, be fundamentally transformed in some way, and be aware of what is essential.

Here is the chart for the ongoing (longer term) Square Key:

As we have written elsewhere, higher order aspects with outer planets are also in play today.  (These also tend to be “longer term.”)  For your convenience we will present some of that analysis here (but click the link if you want more):

Sun biseptiles Saturn, and we should consider resolving some old karma or helping someone less fortunate than ourselves or both.  Sun quintiles Pluto, and we may encounter a very ingenious idea that either (a) helps us with the biseptiles (helping someone else) or (b) gives us a gift in the form of a smart idea that comes from providing said help.  Venus is also novile Uranus today, providing us with an important insight or skill.  [click here to read more]

A Grand Fire Trine is also present today (today only), and that tells us that we face an opportunity (particularly strong if you are heavy in your personal chart with Fire / Air signs).  Here is the same chart filtered for the Grand Fire Trine:

2016-03-19 Calendar of Aspects

March 2016 (Mars Out)

Week 12 (W12)

In most of the United States, except the Eastern Time Zone (EDT), the Vernal Equinox greets us late tonight.  (EU / UK experience this a half past 5 or half past 6 or later depending upon time zone.)

2016-03-19 Sunout All Aspects (Daily)

Sun biseptiles Saturn, and we should consider resolving some old karma or helping someone less fortunate than ourselves or both.  Sun quintiles Pluto, and we may encounter a very ingenious idea that either (a) helps us with the biseptiles (helping someone else) or (b) gives us a gift in the form of a smart idea that comes from providing said help.  In any case, they go together and they set the stage for the days to come at least until the Summer Solstice (late June) or possibly as long as the Vernal Equinox of next year (late March)…

Thursday February 18th 2016

Thursday February 18th

As you know from yesterdays interpretations, the Sun is void.  If you need to “wrap things up,” particularly Aquarian type things (computers, internet, social groups, and so forth), then do so, but do know that a “re-do” may be in the works.  Aquarian anything tends to bring surprises, so you may never “see” the basis of this re-do.  When it does arrive, it will force a shift in your consciousness (sometimes a painful one for earth signs such as Capricorn, Taurus, and Virgo).

Mercury sesquiquadrate Jupiter does mean that you have the energy to push forward, and in some cases you should do so even knowing that a re-do might be needed.  Chiron is novile Pallas, so we learn a powerful skill involving the question of how to get things done (Pallas, the warrior goddes of strategy) and healthcare or education (or both).

Today is very Mercurial.  Mercury septile Saturn (attention to detail and hard work can help us release some “Karma” by helping others), Mercury undecile Neptune (another “helping others” aspect), Mercury quintile Uranus (brilliant ideas, especially regarding issues involving communications and transportation; very good for writers and speakers), and Mercury sesquiquadrate Jupiter (a sort of amplifier of anything, and it is usually benevolent); all four of these aspects are present today.  Again, today is Mercurial.  (That also means WATCH YOUR TEMPER.  And, given Mr. Trump’s Mercurial nature (he is a solar Gemini), we would not be surprised to hear an important announcement from him on this date.)

Arguably we have a (VERY loose) yod, Moon to Mercury / Saturn, and you may have to make a significant decision during the Sun void period.  Later, after the Yod (and decision), Moon (Cancer) forms a T-Square with Uranus (Aries) and Pluto (Capricorn).  This pushes us to act, even though it may be against our better judgment during the Solar void.  In a sense, this is very much a “free will” time in which you will be completely responsible for the consequences of your decisions and following actions.

Yesterday:

Wednesday February 17th

This is another day where we feel an urgent push to “get things done.”  Venus and Mercury have both entered Aquarius, and Mercury semi-squares Chiron while Venus semi-squares Saturn.

Moon (Gemini) trines Sun (Aquarius) and goes void at 10:37 AM CST.  These are typically benevolent aspects (Moon/Sun trines) but something may require a re-do some time after the Moon enters Cancer at 1:24 PM CST.  Quincunxes soon follow (Moon to Mercury, Venus), and achievement of goals becomes even more difficult than during the void in the morning.  This is a good time to slip out of the office and go shopping for minor office supplies if you are compelled to “do something” this afternoon.

The Sun will soon move to Pisces (February 18th @ 11:33 PM CST), so some projects may have to wait until after that (February 19th or later).  This is not a “bad” day, but at times “things” might be “irritating.”  A subtle high order aspect between Vesta and Chiron may bring into questions issues about traditions (“how we have always done it”) and healthcare or education (or both).  A similar high order aspect between Pallas and Astraea may bring legal issues to the surface.

February 1st 2016 (W06)

A glance at the Mystic Rectangles monthy “Mars Out” forecast shows several septile (triseptile) aspects of outer planets.  These aspects are subtle, but they mark this as a day of karma in which we best help ourselves by anonymously helping someone less fortunate than ourselves without expecting anything in return.

Pluto / Vesta are square, and we find a conflict between “doing things the way we have always done them” and the true sources of power present in power structures such as the police and intelligence agencies.  For some people, this is a time of very kinky sex (if you are into that kind of thing).  For anyone who is a “sex worker”: please be extra careful at this time.

Please keep in mind that we are still processing, and clearing out, the energy of the T-Square perfections of the past weekend (Friday / Sunday).

Some of what we said Sunday bears repeating here:

For some people, this is the kind of Sunday where, on Monday, you pretend to leave for work but go somewhere entirely different and hide for a day or week or year. (Maybe you “go out for cigarettes and never come back,” as was popular in the 1950’s and 1960’s.) Do keep in mind that “this too shall pass,” and “things” will become different. (Not “better” or “worse” but “different.”) But, again, this will be a critically important turning point for some people who choose to move into new circumstances.

While we are technically still in the “retrograde shadow,” in many ways moving past this final aspect of the sequence ends this particular sequence of dramas and opens the door for us to (finally!) move in new directions. But, in January of 2017 (when Mercury conunct Pluto perfects again), we may want to revisit our thoughts, notes, and decisions at this time.

Mars (in Scorpio) is septile the North Node, and this harkens to those willing to do the work to transform their lives, starting today.  I am especially speaking to anyone in a criminal occupation or group who is considering doing something like “Witness Relocation.”  Do it today, and never look back.  It will not be easy, but one day you will be grateful to yourself that you did.

For the rest of us, consider what big leap you need to make today or at the time of the New Moon (a week from today).  That NM has a Double Yod Key (DYK), and everyone will face a GROUP of important decisions at that time.  (For more about 2016 New Moons, click here.)

We cannot say it better about today and the rest of this week:  “Waning SCORPIO MOON today and tomorrow is excellent for purging and clearing anyway…”  (Source: Melanies Astro News; see, also: Melanies Astro News)

Finally, we note that the upcoming Aquarius New Moon on February 8th marks the beginning of the Chinese New Year and the beginning of the related festivities. (See, also: this article from the Telegraph.)

Thursday January 28th 2016

Thursday is a curious day in which we begin to feel a shift or see a turning of the tides.  Lunar aspects are nearly absent.  Major aspects are totally absent.  Higher order aspects tend to be influential and set the stage for a very “energetic” weekend.  The only conventional aspect is Sun semisextile Neptune, ordinarily a routine (annual) mild aspect that is typically overlooked.  You will feel it today, and it will tell you to both look to the future and to think of those less fortunate than yourself.  For some people, this is a good day to write a will or engage in similar estate planning.  Thinking of a future without yourself, and how your life can benefit those left behind, is a good use of this day.

Venus quintile Chiron confirms this.  Quintiles are about innovation, and Chiron is about teaching and healing and especially healing by means of teacher.  Mentor relationships are important today, and that dovetails well with the Sun semisextile Neptune aspect.

Sun is novile Chiron, and that means we can learn an important lesson or skill as we reach out to help others.  Venus is biseptile Jupiter, again emphasizing a “karmic” feel to all of this.  A late night Venus square brings a rough spot, but it will pass as we move into the ongoing powerful issues to be addressed this weekend.

January 26th 2016

Tuesday is a very lunar day, and Moon is in Virgo.  Given this is the day after Mercury Direct Station, the Virgo emphasis on details and double checking details is appropriate.  Go slow, and do not be surprised if you receive some kind of surprise today.

Two septiles dominate the day, aside from lunar aspects, and we feel a taste of karma or at least encounter a situation where we can help someone less fortunate than ourselves.  Do it anonymously and expect nothing in return.  Moon opposite Neptune confirms this.  (If you do it with “strings attached,” then chances are good that you will be scammed.  Do not go down that road.)  For some people, this could be a good day for developing poetry, lyrics, photography, or video.  Most most of the rest of us, this is a work day and we can gain much by paying attention to details and accomplishing what needs to be done.
