We can make it through this.  But the stellium in Capricorn tells us, to quote Ringo Starr, “It don’t come easy.”

In Sun Conjunct Chiron 2020-03-25 we presented a detailed analysis of the Sun/Chiron aspect of March 25th 2020.  Some readers may want less detail, and we provide here an abstract.  What do the signs of the sky tell us at this moment?

Sun conjunct Chiron happens annually, shifting each year until it is in a new sign after several years.  Chiron stays in Aries until June of 2026, so we will see different versions of these lessons repeat through 2026.

No obvious patterns are present in this chart.  The meaning is not obvious. We have to “dig deeper” with this chart to find the messages of the moment.

Sun/Chiron is semisquare Ceres.  That aspect tells us what we already know: Sun (our life in general) combined with healing issues (Chiron) is in a conflict with issues of Ceres, meaning “feast and famine.”  Many of us are worried about the basics as the fears related to the Covid19 pandemic take root.

Regarding the conflict between Venus and Ceres (square): in the abstract sense the issue is the financial markets and “liquidity.” In the practical sense: supply chains and, more specifically, FOOD.

How do we know this?  The mythology associated with the celestial objects gives us the answer: Ceres, aka Demeter, was “was in charge of the harvest. If Ceres was upset, the crops could die.”  And, in this chart, Ceres is upset in its relationship with Sun/Chiron.  (Sun = self; Chiron = healing & teaching)  Our healing issues (such as Covid19) are in a significant conflict with our source of nourishment (supply chains in modern economies).

Financial markets are in trouble (Venus, in her home but square to Ceres).  Bailouts are coming, but we need the people that represent us in the government to put an absolute prohibition on misuse of the funds in place and enforce it.  No more “stock buybacks” (as airlines did with bailout money) or “bonuses” from the bailout money.

Uranus (Prometheus) will give us some slick ideas of how to “do it how we have always done it” only slightly different but much better. We do not have to scrap ALL our old ideas to work our way out of the Coronavirus Pandemic.  The right “aha” moments can help us make it through this.  Innovation is critical.

Expect lawsuits.  Abuses will be uncovered.  If you see misconduct, take pictures, record video, record audio, capture everything you can and send it out to as many people as you can, maybe to your attorney along the way.

The semi-squares in the chart tell us that a TON of tension is “out there” in the world. People are pissed off, and they are having difficulty holding it together. This chart tells us that.  Best to avoid dangerous people, places, and situations for the moment.  Whatever the risk is, the possible reward is likely not worth the possible damage.

New Moon

The Aries New moon is exact on March 24, amidst a conjunction to Chiron; this exposes the wounds of our society. There is emphasis on the need to effectively communicate and share our ideas; we must keep moving forward despite the prevailing uncertainty of our environment. Chiron pushes us to heal, to face our darkness and teaches us how to overcome inadequacies. Focus on healing yourself and in turn, you will heal others.

The New Moon’s square to the north node in the 6th house highlights issues of health, anxiety, and worry; and reiterates the message of needing to heal. With the moon in Aries, we are encouraged to channel our braver side, to stand strong and to remain in a state of vigilance. Be gentle with yourself and those around you. Aim for patience, despite the urge for quick action that Aries energy tends to fuel.

Sun Conjunct Chiron 2020-03-25

Sun conjunct Chiron happens annually, shifting each year until it is in a new sign after approximately four to five years but varies due to an erratic orbit.  Chiron has an orbit of about fifty years, giving about four years per sign.  It is new to Aries and will repeat similar versions from year to year for the next few year until 2026.

Bur, What Does It Mean?

No obvious patterns are present.  7th Harmonic continues to be active in the same way as before, and we have discussed it several times elsewhere.  Any of a number of websites discuss Sun Conjunct Chiron specifically; we will provide links to them below.  Our commentary focuses on this chart, the chart for Sun Conjunct Chiron on March 25, 2020 (set in Plano, TX).

The meaning is not obvious.  We have to “dig deeper” with this chart.

Sesquisquare Ceres

This chart hides its messages well, but they are there if you look for them (and know where to look).  In this case, the combination of Sun/Chiron is semisquare Ceres.  (As an aside, this chart is particularly heavy with the semisquare / sesquiquadrate aspects, something we will look at in the next session.)  But, WHAT does that MEAN?

S/C semisquare Ceres tells us what we already know: Sun (our life in general) combined with healing issues (Chiron) is in a conflict with issues of Ceres, meaning “feast and famine.”  In the Spring, Ceres should favor us, so I am worried about the period approaching November 19th of this year and a bit beyond December 16th (Saturn’s second entry into Aquarius, where it stays until 2023).  Sun opposes Chiron in late September, so we could be feeling the issues as soon as then.

But, what issues?  In the abstract sense: the financial markets and monetization.  In the practical sense: supply chains and, more specifically, FOOD.  The potential for a food shortage is looming out there, and we need to “get on top of it” NOW to nip that in the bud.  In my humble opinion, I believe we are “doing the right thing,” but it still will not be easy.  That one thing, the question of supply chains (especially food), is the big takeaway of this chart.

No doubt some of you are asking: how did he get that?  The answer is based on the mythology.  Ceres, aka Demeter, was “was in charge of the harvest. If Ceres was upset, the crops could die.”

Here, the Sun (Apollo in mythology but our general self in the external sense (Moon is internal)) and Chiron (the Centaur known as the “wounded healer,” a teacher and healer who could heal all EXCEPT himself) are aligned together AND “upsetting” Ceres (i.e. the Semi-square, which is, as we say here in the South, “as annoying as hell”).  For more on the mythology regarding Ceres, click >here<.

In short, our healing issues (such as Covid19) are in a significant conflict with our source of nourishment (supply chains in modern economies).  Again, astrology confirms what we already know.

BUT, there’s more.

  • Ceres Square Venus
  • Uranus Trine the South Node
  • Asraea Opposite Mars

Ceres Square Venus

This is a large and complex topic.  But, here, it amplifies the issue with the Sun/Chiron semisquare to Ceres.  We may need to adjust some of the “rules” the financial markets play by to keep the supply chains intact.  If we fail to do that, bad things will happen.  And, that is what this square is telling us.  And, to be sure, some of these moves will be fought by Wall Street, similar to the Airlines using “bailout” money from the government to perform stock buy-backs.  That kind of crap will wreck us, and we need the people that represent us in the government to put an absolute prohibition on that misuse of the funds in place and enforce it.

Uranus Trine South Node

I am going to go opposite against many astrologers, particularly the ones from India, the “Vedic” astrologers.  They love the North Node and hate the South Node.  The North Node is “karma,” and you are supposed to be better when you “work through it.”  The South Node is “doing it how we have always done it” and “don’t fix it if it ain’t broke.”  Usually I agree.

Here, I make an exception.  Uranus will give us some slick ideas of how to “do it how we have always done it” only slightly different but much better.  We do not have to scrap ALL our old ideas to work our way out of the Coronavirus Pandemic.  Hell, it might even knock out the Martians.  (If you are not familiar with “War of the Worlds,” that might not make sense.)

Let’s be clear: this aspect is important!  It is telling us how to “fix” things by slight, but insightful, “tuning.”

Make it so, Number One!

Let me be clear: it is the solutions coming from this Uranus / South Node aspect (and some of what Pallas and Juno are doing currently) that will give us the solution(s) to combating this virus and similar opponents in the future.  We HAVE to look at “how we always have done it” and bring in the smart, ingenious solutions that will tune those methods.

Astraea Opposite Mars

Expect lawsuits.  This is another “astrology tells us something obvious.”  I think maybe less obvious, but maybe more interesting, will be the lawsuits against military / police forces.  Abuses will be uncovered, and the lawyers will feed on it (as they should, since they protect us (collectively) from abuses by police / military by this kind of “feeding”).  If you see misconduct, take pictures, record video, record audio, capture everything you can and send it out to as many people as you can, maybe to your attorney along the way.

What Else?

What else?  All those semi-squares to start!

Semi-Squares

If you use asteroids (which I do), then this chart has (count ’em!) no less than seven (7) semi-squares.  That is a TON of tension “out there” in the world.  People are pissed off, and they are having difficulty holding it together.  This chart tells us that.  I will leave it to someone else to interpret this particular collection of semi-squares.  For me, just knowing they are there is enough.

The chart also has two sesquiquadrates (also called “sesquisquares”).  Those are not shown here.  But, those (135 degrees) are often shown with semi-squares (45 degrees) since the two aspects are related (they are a way to divide 180 degrees / 360 degrees).  Adding those two into the mix gives us NINE (8) of this family.  And the two SSQ’s are ALMOST in a “Thor’s Hammer” pattern.

As if all of those semi-square / SSQ’s were not bad enough, keep in mind that Mars conjunct Pluto was just two days ago!  And this chart follows the Aries New Moon by just a day, a sign that old ideas / people (relationships that no longer work) / places / things are being wiped away.

I could write more.  Juno is a HUGE issue in this chart.  She is telling us something important: women in general are fed up with the crap pushed on us by the fashion and cosmetic industries.  I will not go into the details here, but it has to do with what is happening with Juno (ordinary regular women, and particularly anyone feeling betrayed) and Venus (fashion and cosmetics industries sucking every penny they can from the citizenry).

Prediction: somewhere “soon,” Anna Wintour will retire.  (We do not wish anything bad on anyone, but Covid19 might “take her” despite her best efforts at precautions.)  (When is “soon”?  Probably this year, maybe next year, based on what I see.  But, I could be wrong.  She is one of those Scorpios who is as tough as a Sherman tank.)  Regardless, a backlash against the fashion and cosmetics industries is coming.

Sun and Chiron v. Ceres, Venus, and the Nodes [Edit 2020-03-24]

Based on interest expressed in this article, I have decided to add a few edits.  First, I have added a list of “Sun conjunct Chiron” aspects specifically in Aries from 1900 to 2100 at the end of this article.  Those who are interested in what I call “Long Term Analysis” can look there.

Next, I ran a series of charts that focus on applying aspects of a single planet.  We will look at the Sun (and, by default, Chiron, since they are both conjunct).  Here is the chart:

Note that Sun/Chiron are semi-square Ceres in Capricorn (described previously, “supra”) while Sun/Chiron are also semi-square Venus in Taurus.  This obviously means Ceres and Venus are square, discussed previously.

But, what does it mean?

That’s a good question.   I think it is a new pattern, at least “new” in the sense the Solarfire 9 (the software I use to produce these analyses) does not have it.  The pattern is this: two planets square with a third planet between them and semi-square to each (and, therefore, at the midpoint of each, Venus / Ceres in this case).  The pattern is triangular, and it has a quality similar to a Thor’s Hammer, but built from semi-squares instead of sesquiquadrates.  Like a Thor’s Hammer, this pattern causes significant “agitation.”

I will not duplicate the previous analysis, but I will point out that this means that Ceres (food, nourishment, supply chains) is in Aquarius (a sign of changing to a new way of thinking) and SQUARE to Venus (art, beauty, financial markets) in Taurus (its home, and the ultimate resistance to change).  While that is a tremendous conflict by itself, in THIS case Sun/Chiron are together, acting “as one,” and in Aries (new ideas that can make us go to war, potentially) and Sun/Chiron are in conflict with BOTH Ceres / VenusAND, if that were not enough, this Sun/Chiron melding reflects how many of us view the Venus / Chiron conflict (financial markets, loans, payments due versus having a home and food on the dinner plate).

In a sense, it is astrology once again telling us what we already know.  But an argument could be made that the nuances of the aspects and patterns in the sky reflect a consolidation of our thoughts into something potentially useful.

But, Wait, There’s More!

Just like those late night infomercials some of us have seen, the well worn old saw “But, wait, there’s more!” applies here.  In particular, Sun/Chiron is SQUARE to the nodes, placing Ceres semi-square to the South Node and sesquiquadrate to the North Node.  Similarly, Venus is semi-square to the North Node and sesquiquadrate to the South Node.

What does THAT mean?  It means that the pattern mentioned previously is “swallowed” by a larger pattern that includes the Nodes (of the Moon, an indicator of “karma” that must be “worked through”).

To quote Ringo Starr, “It don’t come easy.”

2016-03 W12: Forecasts for Week 12 of 2016

2016-03 W12: Forecasts for Week 12 of 2016

The Vernal Equinox is March 19th / 20th depending on your location (with Venus conjunct Neptune on the same day), and the next lunation (a Aries / Libra Full Moon) follows on March 23rd (Jupiter perfects a square to Saturn a few hours earlier on the same day).  You already feel Jupiter / Saturn (especially the financial markets do), and this is the second of three with the first being last fall.

Focused Yods are also present this month, and we can “get things done” during these periods (absent other considerations such as v/c moons):

Focused Yod Enters   March 12 2016 10:52:06 pm (CST +6:00)
Focused Yod Leaves March 14 2016 12:32:31 pm (CDT +5:00)
Focused Yod Enters   Mar 17 2016 4:52:40 pm (CDT +5:00)
Focused Yod Leaves Mar 20 2016 8:53:56 am (CDT +5:00)

March 2016 (Mars Out)

Archive of W11 forecasts

Week 12 (W12)

Sunday March 13th

Moon is v/c from 4:47 AM CDT until 4:04 PM CDT.  Since Daylight Savings Time went into effect overnight, the accompanying void seems somehow appropriate.  Slow down, be careful, avoid major purchases or commitments, and find some time to center yourself as Spring approaches.  Later tonight, after Moon enters Gemini, Moon squares Venus (Pisces) and opposes Mars (Sagittarius) to form a T-Square.  Chances are good that this is much ado about nothing.

Outer Planets: Jupiter (law, legal, higher education, long distance travel, and people related to these topics) perfects a long term opposition to Ceres (prosperity in general and food in particular) and issues related to these “come to a head” either over the weekend (a few days before), today, or in the next few days.  Two outer planet quincunxes perfect, also make this a bit of an unpleasant day.  (Jupiter quincunx Pallas, Chiron quincunx Astraea)

Monday March 14th

International Math Day, Pi Day, or Einstein’s Birthday: take your pick.  (“All of the above” is the right answer here.)  Informally, the Moon forms a very loose grand cross with an opposition to Saturn and squares to Neptune and Jupiter.  You will either accomplish much or nothing at all.  (No in-betweens on this one.)

Mercury squares Saturn, forcing you to pay attention to detail, but the perfection of Venus square Mars distracts you with issues of love and sex (or, if those don’t apply, family, power, & money).  Outer planets are relatively quiet, but Uranus triseptile Juno suggests that a kind move that is helpful to a family member who deserved better treatment in the past is a very good idea today.  But today is very important because of the Diamond Pattern present today along with other patterns.  In fact, the patterns tell us that this may be one of the most important days (or several days) this year, maybe in several years.

A Diamond Pattern (rare) is present today and starts March 14 2016 4:13:20 pm (CDT +5:00) and continues until March 14 2016 8:35:22 pm (CDT +5:00).

A Mystic Rectangle is present late in the day and tomorrow and makes this, possibly, one of the best two days for art and creativity:

Mystic Rectangle Enters Mar 14 2016 9:05:45 pm (CDT +5:00)
Mystic Rectangle Leaves Mar 15 2016 8:08:02 am (CDT +5:00)

A series of Thor’s Hammer Patterns are also present, so watch your temper and focus all that energy into “getting things done” (especially if they are artistic in nature).

Again, the patterns tell us that March 14th of 2016 may be one of the most important days (or several days) this year, maybe in several years.  The entire week is important.  Jupiter Trine Pluto with a Grand Quintile is an important turning point for some people, especially artists and other creatives.  We are setting the stage for the upcoming full moon / lunar eclipse.

Tuesday March 15th (Ides of March)

[Written in retrospective.]  Today a number of important elections occur.  Given the aspects and patterns of Monday and Wednesday, we believe you will see significant changes / events occur.  Mercury (Pisces) opposes Jupiter (Virgo), and Mercury also is sextile Pluto (Capricorn).  The three, together, form a triangular pattern that is yet another indicator of powerful changes.

Venus also perfects a semisquare to Uranus, adding both a sense of urgency and a sense of weirdness to the day.  Capture those unexpected insights if you cannot put them into practice today so that you can followup on them on another day if necessary.  But, if you can, take advantage of the “luck” of perfection of Jupiter Trine Pluto tomorrow to accomplish something amazing.

Wednesday March 16th

Jupiter Trine Pluto perfects today, the second in a series of three.  A Grand Quintile is also present earlier in the day, and that is a rare pattern that can produce powerful insights (genius level) as well as bode well for the development of creative works.  Take advantage of the rare opportunity that today presents as best you can.  Days like today are rare indeed.

Thursday March 17th

We note that the Moon is very busy today, perfecting seven aspects (not including higher order aspects such as quintiles and septiles). The afternoon and evening has a series of lunar trines on this traditional Irish holiday (the date of St. Patrick’s death), and we expect the evening to go well for most people (except anyone who consumes too much in the way of mood altering substances and contributes to an accident or other harmful situation).

Mercury conjunct Chiron today tells us that we have communications and transportation related to health, education or both. Much of today is about processing the earlier three days of the week.

Friday March 18th

A relatively benevolent Moon v/c begins after midnight (Moon Trine Sun) and ends near 4 AM CDT with the entry of the Moon into Leo. The moon is more quiet today than yesterday, with quincunx aspects to Venus (afternoon) and Neptune (evening). You may encounter a few glitches, but for most people they will be forgetten in a day or two and certainly by next week.

Outer planet aspects are far more busy (yesterday was relatively quiet with a Ceres / Uranus aspect bring a surprise regarding our prosperity (“The Visa is maxed out? Again?)).

Mars sesquiquadrate Uranus brings us some sense of urgency (possibly anger) to “get things done.”  Chiron opposite North Node (“Rahu” to some) means it is conjunct the South Node (“Ketu”) and, therefore, we have a temptation to “take the easy way out” or “cut corners” regarding some issue involving healthcare, education, or both.  (Don’t do it!)

Pallas does BiQuintile Hygeia, and we CAN have a brilliant insight into how to solve problems today.  Just focus your efforts, do not get derailed, do not cut corners, and do the work necessary.

Saturday March 19th

In most of the United States, except the Eastern Time Zone (EDT), the Vernal Equinox greets us late tonight.  (EU / UK experience this a half past 5 or half past 6 or later depending upon time zone.)

Sun biseptiles Saturn, and we should consider resolving some old karma or helping someone less fortunate than ourselves or both.  Sun quintiles Pluto, and we may encounter a very ingenious idea that either (a) helps us with the biseptiles (helping someone else) or (b) gives us a gift in the form of a smart idea that comes from providing said help.  In any case, they go together and they set the stage for the days to come at least until the Summer Solstice (late June) or possibly as long as the Vernal Equinox of next year (late March).  Venus septile Pluto confirms this emphasis on helping others.

Venus novile Uranus provides us with a gift of some sort this evening, an insight or useful skill, likely resulting from helping others (or maybe an insight because we failed to help; those can be hard lessons sometimes).

Wednesday, February 24th 2016 (and Tuesday the 23rd)

Tuesday February 23rd

Another busy day greets us, especially with lunar aspects.  Jupiter opposes Chiron, then the Moon joins Jupiter and immediately opposes Chiron.  Health, healing, work, play, and education issues continue from yesterday.  Really, no rest for the weary today.

Wednesday February 24th

Some of us are still feeling Jupiter opposite Chiron.  It has been building for weeks, and we will still feel it at least through the end of Pisces 2016.  It touched us in November 2015, and it will touch us again in August of 2016.  Health and healing issues (and all things of Jupiter / Chiron) are central issues during this period.

We have something of a break, at least from the frantic lunar aspects, today as a void Moon swallows most of the work day in the Western Hemisphere.  Moon moves into Libra at 4:42 PM CST after going void at 8:23 AM CST on this same day.  It is a bit of a “day off” to recover and process the hectic activity of the past few days.  Use the time to center yourself (and clean house) wisely.  An early morning Mercury / Saturn sextile tomorrow influences today and tells us to pay attention to details especially when doing anything even remotely important.

Outer planet aspects are relatively quiet with the most important one being Vesta Quadrinovile Juno.  Something about our traditions or customs somehow can or does protect us in matters where trust is an issue.  Stick to well-known and tried and true methods and ideas during this time and steer clear of anything remotely weird or “creative” offered by others on this day.  If you have creative ideas yourself, write them down and save them for another day.  Venus semi-sextiles Neptune, so you WILL be tempted.  Just know better and do better.

And, as we mentioned before, pay attention to details.  Whether you are scammed today or not, pay attention to details so that you can spot some similar scheme in the future.  Issues involving prosperity (Ceres, particularly food), the legal system (Astraea), and power, police, and finances (Pluto) are in play here.  The scam might be a scammer on the phone (or in email) posing as your “bank” or posing as the “police.”  Do not be taken in!  Hang up on them and CALL the bank, or police, directly yourself.  Let’s be clear, for many of us “something” is up today.

Chances are good that they will play loss aversion on you:  “ACT NOW to prevent xyz loss.  We are trying to help you.”  Bite on this lure, and you will become the fish fry for supper.  Don’t fall for it!

Pay attention to details: did you get the area code, license plate number, etc.?  (Keep in mind you CAN win here!  Just don’t take the bait, and capture the details to report to the (real) police, bank, etc.

Tuesday February 9th 2016

Tuesday February 9th (W07)

We are still feeling the power of yesterday’s New Moon in Aquarius (and start of the Chinese New Year, the year of the Yang Fire Monkey).  Today is dominated by Mars Trine Chiron and the early morning entry of the Moon into Pisces.  Mars Trine Chiron is all about healing issues, and so can be the Moon in Pisces.  With Moon in Pisces, “healing” can take the form of creativity (poetry, lyrics, photography, video) or anonymously helping others less fortunate than ourselves without any thought about some later benefit to ourselves.

Mercury forms a novile to Saturn, and we may learn an important skill involving details or paperwork.  Vesta (traditions) is quite active: (1) Chiron semisextile Vesta; (2) Mars quincunx Vesta; and (3) Vesta triseptile the North Node.  We have to address tradition and “doing things the way we have always done them,” and we continue to receive indications that some of those traditions are due for a makeover if not outright radical change.

Tuesday February 2nd 2016 (W06) Groundhog Day

Tuesday February 2nd 2016 (W06) Groundhog Day

This is an oddly annoying day in which we are not entirely certain what is wrong.  Multiple high order Hygeia aspects tells us we must focus on health and healthcare.  Unlike days with Chiron aspects, this is specifically health and healthcare without educational issues as an alternative.

Actually, Chiron does semi-square Pallas in the early morning hours, so education COULD be involved (but in a minor way if at all).  The semi-square gives us a sense of urgency as we search the house for the glasses that are in our shirt pocker.  If you can, avoid being caught in the fray and stay to the side watching the show.

Noting that this is “Groundhog Day,” we predict a sense of disappointment pervades the air.

We have a day with a void Moon in Scorpio (during the morning hours that the Groundhog will, or will not, see his shadow) that slips into Sagittarius during the morning hours and is influenced by the subtle of higher order aspects described.  We are probably still processing the events of yesterday as we inquire as to whether or not the Groundhog saw his shadow.  Take today off it you can, otherwise stick to routine and followup and what you were working on yesterday until at least some time past noon (U.S.) or 6 PM (UK/EU).

We also encourage you to read yesterday’s forecast (which covers some outer planet aspects that are still in effect today.

Wednesday January 13th 2016

Wednesday is complex.  The good news is that the Sun trines Jupiter, an annual aspect that almost always confers benefit (unless you “overdo” it).  (Traditionally, Jupiter is a “malefic” (bad) though many modern astrologers (including myself) count it as a “benefic” (good).  Why the dispute?  It is an AMPLIFIER.  Jupiter makes “things” “big,” such as Powerball winnings.  It makes the bad worse and the good better.  Like big Powerball winnings, the result you get depends on where you point it and how you use it.)  However, we do note that the best use of this particular aspect on this date is “getting things done.”

The bad news is the Venus Squares Chiron.  Issues involving either (a) finances + education or (b) the physical body and the pain of recovery will rise to the surface.  (As always with Chiron, health, or education, or both, will likely become the focus of the day.)

A potpourri of lunar aspects color the day, squares and trines alike, but most of the day in the western hemisphere (and the later part of the day into the early morning hours of Thursday in UK / EU) is colored by a bracketing of the window by Moon in Pisces conjunct Neptune at the beginning 7:17 AM CST and near the end by Moon in Pisces conjunct Chiron 12:22 AM CST on Thursday.  BOTH of these emphasize the “healthcare” aspect of the day, and the first throws into the mix a need to help those less fortunate than ourselves along with a risk from scammers.  (Best to donate anonymously to well known causes that you thoroughly understand.  Please do not throw money to criminals.)  For some people, particularly students about to begin a new semester, this day is a turning point.

And just in case you might somehow miss the “message” of the previous paragraph, Sun also Semisquares Neptune, producing a significant sense of urgency to address these issues immediately, whatever they may be.

Friday, January 8, 2016

Friday Sun Sextiles Chiron, and educational or health issues (or both) tend to dominate the day.  Mostly it should be benevolent, but old wounds and problems may reopen under this aspect during a Mercury Retrograde.  Moon and Mercury both enter Capricorn (but from opposite ends of the sign!), and Venus conjoins Saturn.  That tends to make this another “nose to the grindstone” kind of day, similar to Wednesday earlier this week.  Friday night (and arguably Thursday) is also “Dark of the Moon,” the powerful period some use for rituals that precedes the New Moon (of Saturday).

Venus Trine Chiron 2015-12-19

We do not duplicate the filtering for the Thor’s Hammer or related analysis that we have covered in “Mercury Conjunct Pluto 2015-12-19 (Thor’s Hammer, Amplified).”  Instead, we filter for trines to illustrate other trines that are present.  This aspect generally addresses health or education issues (or both), and that is likely today.  We add that, with the presence of the Mercury / Pluto conjunction, today’s actions or discussions involving health or education may be particularly intense and tempers may flare.  Yesterday’s Venus Quincunx Uranus and the recent Venus Sextile Pluto also exacerbates what may be an already difficult situation.

Here is the chart:

Sun square Chiron 2015-12-05

We are going to minimize commentary about this ordinarily difficult aspect.  It represents a turning point in health, education, or both.  It happens within the larger framework of Saturn square Neptune, so reality colliding with delusions is a theme.  It is also the end of the semester for students, so it ties in with “final exams.”  It shortly precedes flu season which kills so many people (particularly elders), so it obviously ties in with that.  And it follows closely on the heels of yesterday’s Sun trine Uranus, so reading the commentary there is essential to understanding the context of the perfection of this aspect.

Here is the chart, with no filtering or “Beginner’s Page” since all of that is covered on yesterday’s Sun trine Uranus (and has not changed significantly since then):

2015-11-09 Sun Trine Chiron (Yod)

Sun trines Chiron today, and you will have to made a decision due to the continued presence of a Yod (Uranus at Apex, Sun on one leg and Jupiter on the other leg)  You will also need to take notes and make extensive documentation not only on what you say and do, not only on what other people say and do, but on the reasons and influences that lead you to make the decision that you make.  What makes all of this tricky is that the Moon is void of course during most of the day and it is waning, only two days before a New Moon.  That means that the best use of this therapeutic decision is to clean out, remove, or “let go” of something or someone or some situation.

Oddly, despite the Moon being v/c, chances are good that you will make the right decision and not even know it until later, much later.

On December 9th you will want to revisit those notes because you may desire to make a bad decision, derail your results, or otherwise go down “the wrong road” at that time.  Your notes and ideas and photographs and video from today will help protect you on that day.  Chances are good that the decision you make today is the right one.

Here is the chart for perfection of Sun trine Chiron, filtered for the presence of the yod:

2015-11-09 Sun Trine Chiron

You may also want to look at your notes and ideas from yesterday when the Focused Yod was in process.  That day may give you important insights and guidance in terms of what you need to be doing on this particular day.  You may also want to read this interpretation.

This day also has significant 5th Harmonic activity:

2015-11-09 Sun Trine Chiron (5th Harmonic)

We see a triangular pattern with Astraea (law and legal issues) at the apex, Pluto (power struggles and police and intelligence agencies) on one leg, and the South Node (taking the easy way out; doing things the way we have always done them) on the other leg.  Some of us will be facing the question today of whether or not to file a lawsuit.

A similar kind of triangular pattern is present in the 7th harmonic aspect chart.  That tells us that something in the way of Karma is involved with the decisions of this day:

2015-11-09 Sun Trine Chiron (7th Harmonic)

Mercury, Pallas, and Uranus are involved in this 7th Harmonic triangle, so some particularly brilliant solutions of how to address this issue may emerge on this date.

Again, we issue the warning that the Moon is v/c until shortly past 11 PM CST (Midnight EST, 9 PM PST).  We also show, next, the chart for perfection of Sun Conjunct Uranus (one leg of the yod) which also occurs on this date.  We have filtered this chart to illustrate a Hele that is present, indicating that you may form some long term alliances on this date (odd for a Moon v/c).

2015-11-03 Jupiter Opposite Chiron (Rosetta + Thor’s Hammer Key)

2015-11-03 Jupiter Opposite Chiron (Rosetta + Thor’s Hammer Key)

You have been feeling it at least for the last week or two, and you may have been feeling it since before the final Blood Moon Eclipse of the 2014/2015 Tetrad.  It is Jupiter Opposite Chiron, and it is part of the mix associated with Jupiter Opposite Neptune and other aspects we talked about perfecting on September 17th of this year.  It brings to a head key issues involving health and healthcare, or teaching and education, or mentoring and 1:1 collegial relationships; or some kind of mix of two or all three of those.

Today the aspect perfects.  You may have already received the relevant (and critical news) last week or the week before.  You may receive it in a few days.  Often “nothing happens” on the day of the perfection of these critical outer planet turning points.  But Jupiter has a twelve year orbit, and Chiron has a fifty year orbit, so your precise personal variant of how this affects you may not be “day of the perfection.”  The “orbs” (boundary lines for events) of the Moon are hours long and based on a 28 day cycle.  Since the same sized orbs (measured in degrees of a circle) are based on Chiron’s fifty year orbit, expect those “orbs” to last 365 x 2 (730) times as long.  If we allow 2 hours on each side of the Moon’s orbs, then we should allow about 1,460 hours for Chiron, which translates to about sixty days (about two lunar months).  Jupiter’s orbit is only twelve years, so the corresponding orbs should be about twelve days (half a lunar month).

THIS issue of “orbs” is why we keep referencing that pivotal date of September 17th (and also October 11th) as a turning point for the outer planet (“generational planet”) events through the end of the year.  Chances are VERY good that you will NOT feel this perfection “day of” the event (unless it EXACTLY aspects some planet or point in your personal natal chart), but you WILL feel it in the two weeks prior or two weeks after (Jupiter’s orb, using the fastest moving planet and, therefore, the smallest and most precise window).

And, as an aside, if you look back to the days “near” September 17th (allowing some latitude due to Jupiter’s orbs), you will note an important turning point there.  And, by “latitude” we mean this turning point could have been earlier, maybe on the 11th or 12, or later, maybe on the 21st or 22nd.  But, you had a turning point, and you made a decision.

You made some important decision at that turning point.  It may not have seemed important at the time, but, in hindsight, you will eventually see that it was the kind that changes the course of your life.

If you were a student, you may have decided to go play rather than prepare for an exam.  You got in trouble with the exam.  You were going to “pull it together.”  But, now, you see that you cannot.  You will fail out of school and will be working in a drive through asking “would you like fries with that.”  Or, you might become a revolutionary like Bill Gates, Mark Zuckerberg, or Steve Jobs.  Maybe the most important class you are taking will turn out to be calligraphy.  (See, also: this story.)

You do have some choice in the matter.  The planets in the sky are invariant, but your personal, individual decisions are not.

Or maybe you did the work.  And, if you can push through, do what it takes in this final window of November and December, you can have both a successful semester and a breakthrough.  You can show yourself “you can do it.”  It depends on the decisions you made and the necessary followup actions you took.  And, as Steve Jobs said, some day you can look back and “connect the dots” if you follow your heart “even if it takes you off the well worn path.”

Or maybe you are an older adult who did, or did not, see a physician.  Depending on your situation, you can see where things may be going with your health and healthcare.

And if September 17th was not the turning point, then surely the days surrounding the Focused Yod associated with the perfection of Jupiter Trine Pluto on October 11th were.  Focused Yods are all about not only making decisions but taking the necessary action to accomplish the results.

So, what is “it” that you will feel as this aspect perfects?  We re-iterate: some key point involving education, healthcare, or mentoring.  Since Jupiter ALSO rules the legal system, this could involve the law and possible lawsuits.  But, the key issues will be education and healthcare (Chiron).  We see all of this tied into the current political debates.  And, as an aside, Jupiter ALSO rules foreign relations (particularly ambassadors) and, therefore, issues of immigration.  Think about it: these are the key issues of our current political climate.  (Health (“Obamacare”), Education, Foreign Relations (Middle East, China, et al), and Immigration (particularly Mexico and points south).

So, here is the chart, which is filtered for the Rosetta (short term allegiances) which was present and continues to be present for the next few days.  Being a longer term pattern, it is almost certainly the most important pattern in the perfection of this aspect:

2015-11-03 Jupiter Opposite Chiron (Rosetta)

We also see a Thor’s Hammer present.  Actually, we see TWO of them in a configuration that we have previously named a “Thor’s Hammer Key.”  The presence of TWO patterns almost always means, in astrology, two or MORE situations involving that pattern (here the Thor’s Hammer associated with impulsive actions, extreme conflict, and people like Adam Lanza).  As many of you can “guess” from the situation in the Middle East (specifically Syria but other problems also) and Eastern Europe (the ongoing Russia / Ukraine conflict), we live in dangerous time.

Here is the same chart, filtered to show the Thor’s Hammer Key:

2015-11-03 Jupiter Opposite Chiron (Thor's Hammer Key)

At this point, some of you may ask: how do I use this “energy.”  The answer is to enjoy your short term allegiances knowing either you may never see them again or they may turn treacherous if you do, and to avoid rash and impulsive actions and people while focusing your attention (and possibly your anger) to “get something (useful, and non-violent) done.”

As an aside, as we have said before, people who have violence and physical altercations woven into their life (soldier, police, boxers, MMA athletes, bar room bouncers) may actually BENEFIT from this kind of pattern.  But, if you are not one of those kind of people, best to avoid them (or people or situations that invoke their presence) if you can.

We do not see particularly significant patterns in 5th harmonic or 7th harmonic aspects in this chart.  So, no brainstorms or karma issues to work through.  This is all about temporary allegiances and doing the work to get the job done (without being angry or impulsive).

Mars Opposite Chiron 2015-10-23

As this aspect perfects, we see much “energy” (likely anger) regarding issues that involve healthcare or education or both.  This is a repeating theme over this week and into next week, with some of the issues causing a frantic panic for some people.  Friday (today) and Sunday (October 25th) are particularly busy days.  We note that both a Hele and a Thor’s Hammer are in effect for these aspects, and do not repeat the filtering here.

Here is the chart for perfection of the aspect, filtered for oppositions:

2015-10-23 Mars Opposite Chiron (Oppositions)

With a large cluster of planets in Virgo, and another group of planets in Pisces and Aries, we see a period of numerous oppositions and some quincunxes.  We also note that this particular opposition involves, specifically, “outer planets” (generational planets) and marks another turning point in the stage that we all play upon.

Sun Sesquiquadrate Chiron 2015-10-25

This aspect pattern brings either issues involving healthcare or education (or both) to the forefront.  Young students panic about assignments due, and older adults as well as young mothers decide they need to visit with the physician soon.

Here is the chart, filtered for the sesquiquadrate aspect:

When Moon conjoincs Uranus on this date, expect the unexpected.  Certain “surprises” may show themselves.

2015-09-08 Mars Quincunx Chiron

While this perfects on September 8th, most people in the United States (and the Western Hemisphere) will feel this most strongly on September 7th.  It is an unpleasant aspect that leads to misunderstandings at best and accidents at worst.  We will see some family (and other) squabbles on this Labor Day holiday, and some “feelings” may be deeply hurt, especially near lunch time or early afternoon (Moon opposite Pluto).  Accidents have the potential to be serious, so be careful.  Here is the chart:

2015-09-08 Mars Quincunx Chiron

Now is NOT the time to “work through” family issues; instead diplomacy and avoidance of “sensitive” topics until a more favorable time (maybe a few days from now) is recommended.  We note that Hygeia (health and healthcare) is also quincunx Ceres (feast/famine), so accidents (or other trauma) could be particularly expensive on this date, likely requiring a trip to the Emergency Department of a Hospital.  (Still calling it an “Emergency Room” when it is bigger than some small clinics?  Time to update your lexicon!  See, also: CDC Statistics on ED Visits.)

Doing something like this could get you nominated for the Darwin Awards.  (And, if you DO see someone doing something like that, then move back a “safe distance.”  Then move back at least that much again.)

We do note a LARGE amount of 5th Harmonic activity, so this might be a very good time to write down your ideas.  Development of poetry, lyrics, melody, and perhaps photography and video could be very powerful on this day.  But, again, practice diplomacy.

Here is the same chart, filtered for 5th Harmonic Activity:

2015-09-08 Mars Quincunx Uranus (5th Harmonic)

You may note the triangular pattern involving Moon + Astraea / Pallas / North Node activity.  This indicates possible insights and innovations on how to heal some old wounds.  But, again, record the ideas (and plans) and pause to execute them at least one day.

In any case, if you are celebrating Labor Day today, please have a safe and healthy holiday!
