Astrological Analysis of Sandy Hook Shooting Victims as a Group

Someone asked at some point after the Sandy Hook shootings if I had thought about analyzing the victims. Adam Lanza had been treated as fully as I could without a birth time here. (Actually, I had other analysis, too. But, that is the most comprehensive one. See, also, this analysis.)
The tool that I am using is called Jigsaw. I recommend it if you want to perform an astrological analysis of groups. The source of my data can be found here, except for Lauren Rousseau, whose date of birth I found elsewhere.
With a group of school children, I expect the generational planets (outer planets, not counting Mars) to essentially the same, so I have focused on the personal planets (inner planets + Mars). Since we only have birth dates, and not birth times, I have omitted any analysis of ascendants or the Moon.
Although I had originally planned to NOT include Adam Lanza, I changed my mind for several reasons. One is numerological: without him the total number of victims (or deaths, if you prefer) is 26, an 8. And, in Western Numerology 8 is incomplete. (Some eastern systems hold 8 to be complete. However, I do not use eastern systems in my analysis, except Chinese years to a very limited degree.) Adding Adam creates a count of 27, and this a 9 (which is complete). (Of course, in some eastern systems, 8 is considered to be a holy number (like 12 to Christians), and 9 is unlucky (like 13 to Christians). Feel free to pick the interpretation that works best for you.)
Furthermore, even though he was the shooter, he was arguably a victim. I will not belabor the point here.
Here is the analysis, starting with a tabulation of raw data, then a polar graph of that same data, and finally a bar chart of the data. Again, the data is Sun, Mercury, Venus, and Mars by sign for the group of 27.
Figure 1: Raw Data Tabulation [Click Image to Enlarge]
I have taken the liberty to highlight the two signs that clearly dominate: Taurus and Cancer.
Here is the Sun sign data in a polar chart:
Figure 2: Polar Chart of Sun signs [Click Image to Enlarge]
One can easily spot the dominance of Cancer here along with the strong Taurus / Scorpio polarity. Capricorn is absent, and Leo / Aquarius is attenuated.
Finally, here is the bar chart of the same data:
Figure 3: Bar Chart of Sun sign Data [Click Image to Enlarge]
Note that I have circled the glyph for Capricorn. Capricorn is absent from this data, and nearly absent from the all of the Sun / Mercury / Venus / Mars data. Aquarius is also reduced; both are co-ruled by Saturn in traditional rulerships. We note that Saturn (planet of tests, trials and tribulations) had recently entered Scorpio (sign of death and rebirth) and was in mutual reception with Pluto (planet of death and rebirth) in Capricorn (sign of tests, trials and tribulations).
Furthermore, if you re-examine the chart here, you will note that we concluded that Adam Lanza almost certainly had Moon in Capricorn, along with Uranus and Neptune. Activated by transiting Pluto as described in the earlier post, and the particularly malefic New Moon that immediately preceded the shooting, his Moon, Uranus, and Neptune opposed a significant proportion of (the rest of) the group.
The Capricorn / Cancer polarity was of critical importance in this particular storm. We note, also, that the Taurus / Scorpio polarity was important, along with the fact that Adam Lanza was a solar Taurus.
Regarding aspects, the Square was the most frequent aspect in this group. Semi-Square and Sesqui-Square were also in the top four. Refer to the following bar chart, Figure 4:
Figure 4: Bar Chart of Frequency of Aspects [Click Image to Enlarge]
Squares, semi-squares, and sesqui-squares all “energize” situations. They tend to be drivers of violence (when expressed in the “low form.”)
Jigsaw provides an interpretative report. I will not reproduce the entire report here because the material is copyrighted. However, certain pieces of the interpretative report stand out, and I will provide them here as part of my critique and review of both the data and how the program analyzes this data.
Two of the teachers are described as “Neptune” people who are peripheral to the group. (And, we note that one of them did not have her full birth data included in the original listing of the group, only added later elsewhere.)
Neptune is contributed by:
25. Lauren Rousseau at 25°Sg54′ (Orb 0°33′)
3. Rachel Davino at 27°Sg08′ (Orb 1°48′)
The Neptune-person moves at the edge of the Play/Peer group, living in their own world, having an existence separate to the group.
Not a surprising analysis for two teachers of six and seven year old children. We would expect them to be on the edge of the group and watching. But, how did a computerized astrology program pick that out from their birth dates? Next, the program offers this:
There are 3 group members who fit into this pattern only with other points or wider orbs.
These people do not fit into the main pattern.
First is the principal, Dawn Hochsprung:
8. Dawn Hochsprung contributes Venus at 27°Cn03′ (Orb 4°17′)
The Venus-person helps the Play/Peer group to understand life. They do this by giving meaning to cycles, rhythms and patterns, showing how the members of the group are in rhythm with the cosmos, or have a place in the larger world. They promote calmness in the group.
Second is Victoria Soto, the incredibly heroic teacher who put the children in a closet and shielded them from the gunman with her own body. She is also a Neptune person, as were the two previously mentioned teachers, but Jigsaw sees her as different. (She was!) Part of the description of all of the teachers includes this:
They may be the one who reads the others’ dreams, and are attuned to omens; or they may be the artist within a group of intellectuals. If the group can accept that it is part of its own nature to contain this energy, then all members will have the opportunity of being touched by the mystical or the mysterious.
What better description of an idealistic young teacher working with children. What better description of a hero certain to die?
And, finally, Jigsaw identifies Adam Lanza as being the third “different” person from the group:
27. Adam Lanza contributes North Node at 03°Cp50′ (Orb 8°30′)
Play/Peer groups often do not have a Node-person, or if they do, the group does not remain a Play/Peer group for long.
The North Node is associated with “karma” or “fate.” The Jigsaw analysis did get one thing wrong, and it regards Adam Lanza:
Thus they change the group, not by force or drama, but by the simple action of bringing in new people, and redirecting the focus of the group.
He brought in new people. (Police officers, reporters….) And he changed the focus of the group. But, sadly, he used force, deadly force, to achieve his results.

CT School Shooter ID as Ryan Lanza
December 14, 2012 at 1:48 pm | Posted in 2012, Astrology, BadDays | 3 CommentsTags: Adam Lanza, Astrology, CT school, homicide, horary, murder, Ryan Lanza, shooter, Yod, Yods
[This post may be updated several times in the next week or two.]
ABC News has provided an ID of the CT School shooter as Ryan Lanza. (Update 12/16: Indeed, they did ID as Ryan initially. But, we now know it was his brother, Adam.) In the absence of any other information, here is an horary chart based on the moment of the announcement of his identification (by David Muir) on ABC News, 1337 CST (set to time local to Plano, where the chart was cast):
[Update (12/14): Ryan Lanza is alive and cannot be the shooter. The news media currently (12/14, 3:54p CST) reports Adam Lanza as the shooter.]
We estimate the beginning of this tragedy to have been the alignment of Pluto with the ascendant at 8:25 EST (set in CT):
[We are using horary format for those who use that approach in analysis of events.]
[Update (12/15): We suspect that Nancy Lanza was murdered by her son, Adam Lanza, at this time (8:25 am EST), possibly as she prepared to leave for work at the school. We base this on currently (12/15 0116 CST) available timelines without adjustment to account for his or her birth data.]
We note that the sign of Libra is intercepted in the 9th house of education and Aries (with Uranus present) is intercepted in the 3rd house of children and siblings.
We believe that the event was finished by the alignment of the Jupiter-Saturn-Pluto Yod with Saturn (in Scorpio) at midheaven, which was approximately 9:18 EST (Newtown, CT):
[Update (12/14): We believe (now) event was culminating at this point and likely finished (suicide by shooter) later. However, if that is true, we cannot find a clear termination point. Could be as early as Mars CONJ ASC or as late as ascendant becoming Aquarian, which was also when Neptune moved from the 2nd to 1st house. None of those are nearly as good as 9:18, but news reports have said repeatedly that no call about the shooter was made until 9:30 or 9:40. Did the news get that wrong, too?]
[Update (12/15 @ 0117 CST): We suspect that this (9:18) was Adam Lanza’s arrival / entry to the school. He may have taken advantage of the chaos that sometimes happens as students and teachers head to class, attempting to start class at 9:30 am. If that is true, then he likely ended his own life by 9:56 am when the ascendant changed signs from Capricorn to Aquarius and, nearly simultaneously, Neptune (planet of martyrs) moved into the first house.]
The noteworthy pattern here is the Jupiter-Saturn-Pluto Yod (part of a Double Yod Key) which will be prominent on the 2012 Solstice. Do the school shootings reflect something about the larger shifts that are happening?
We have found the following, which brings into question the ID announced by David Muir:
That screen capture from here.
Also interesting: NJ has the strictest laws regarding guns (and their possession) in the nation. How did the NJ gunman acquire a Sig and a Glock (and two other weapons, possibly a Bushmaster .223) while living in a state with such strict “gun control”?
[Update (12/15 @ 0124 CST) We know, now, that Ryan was not the perpetrator even though the NJ police led him away in handcuffs. But, we still ask, how did 20 year old Adam, autistic by some reports and the child of a single mother kindergarten teacher, come to possess the collection of firearms that he used? This seems very strange given the laws in place requiring background checks to prevent the mentally disabled from acquiring weapons. And, where did he get the money to make the purchases? He had between $1000 and $2000 worth of weapons….]

Winters Solstice 2012 (aka “The End of the World”)

Here is the Winters Solstice 2012 (aka “The End of the World”) chart (set in Plano, of course):
First of all, we have written about this elsewhere. The most important patterns appear to be (1) the Focused Yod that occurs at the time of the solstice, and (2) the Diamond that happens fifteen hours later. To learn more about those, click here.
For an alternative version of the chart, as well as a global Solar Map, click here. But, by far the most popular page on this site discussing the 2012 Solstice is “Saturn in Scorpio: The Power of Mutual Reception.”
We have always questioned, on this site, the idea that the world will “end” with this solstice. We do not believe that.
However, we have entered a period where serious questions will be asked of government, particularly intelligence agencies that strip citizens of privacy (Scorpio / Pluto), and of (large) financial institutions (Capricorn / Saturn) and their abuses (giving huge bonuses with bailout money then foreclosing on the citizens who should have been protected).
All this is scary, and it looks like it is getting worse.
But, something even larger is looming, and that something just might be the End of the World As We Know It. We are a bit like the frog being cooked. And, what is cooking us is global warming. Many people have said global warming is a hoax, like this video from five years ago in 2007. What do y0u think?
We note this video about the Greenland ice melt published 2012. It is the kind of thing Al Gore was talking about in 2006 when he made An Inconvenient Truth.
Where are we headed? Difficult to say. But, let’s hope we can keep the Internet. It has glued us together in ways never thought of before. It might be what can save us. But, as noted above, we have written of this elsewhere and have no significant changes to our earlier commentary at “Saturn in Scorpio: The Power of Mutual Reception” and the other links mentioned above.
Here are a few Solar Maps:
First, we start with Australia / New Zealand. This is a particularly active area at the time of the Solstice with the Node Line (fate or karma) touching Brisbane. Mars and Saturn have crossing lines inland from the northern coast. We think Australia and New Zealand are of increasing importance, globally, and (if this Solstice is as significant as some say) this map tends to confirm that.
Next, we look at the U.S.

We will publish a few more maps, and some more commentary, in the next few days as the Solstice approaches.

Full Moon, November 2012 (and Lunar Eclipse)

Here is the chart for the upcoming Full Moon, which is also an eclipse. (Eclipses come in pairs, and they are linked together in “families” of eclipses that are known are “series.”)

This is the Solar Fire 7 “Beginners Chart” version of the November 2012 Full Moon, which is also an “appulse lunar eclipse.” It is set in Plano, Texas
After a bit of thought, it came to me that this is the last Full Moon prior to the Winter’s Solstice. If you have an interest in the Mayan calendar (the “long count”), then this is a particularly important Full Moon for you.
As described below, this FM is characterized by multiple yods. Yods involve linked quincunxes that represent decisions and decision making. This FM is about a huge fork in the road for all of us. The decisions made at this time will affect us for many years to come.
As you can tell, we cannot see the eclipse from our vantage point in Plano. As previously, we have the U.S. map here.
I find interesting that the Moon & Chiron form a “Thor’s Hammer” with the Midheaven in New York City shortly before time of the Full Moon:
Since it is two planets aspecting the Midheaven, I do not believe that we will see the intensity with this TH that happens with some of the others. (Perhaps someone can identify where the Thor’s Hammer occurs in exact aspect with the Midheaven at the time of culmination the the Full Moon. It is somewhere other than NYC.)
What interests me more is the Thor’s Hammer of November 30th. Placing Mercury at Midheaven creates an alignment on top of the Mississippi river, highlighting that the problem there may worsen. (If barge traffic is interrupted, this will affect the entire nation and perhaps the global economy. The purple line in the Solar Map, below, is Mercury (transportation), and it aligns on top of Vicksburg, MS at this time. Vicksburg is an important point with regard to river traffic.)
http://news.yahoo.com/low-mississippi-river-water-levels-may-halt-barges-160839100.html
See, also: River Level Reports.
Here is the chart (set at Vicksburg).
This chart (above) speaks for itself. For those who are new to reading charts:
(1) Mars (violence) & Pluto (death) in the 12th house of Self-Deception and Self-Undoing. (Also: 12th house = Pisces = flowing water.) Very unfavorable.
(2) Neptune (= 12th = Pisces) & Chiron (healing & things needing to be healed) in 1st house (and Pisces, as they will be for years).
(3) Uranus (surprise / accidents / disruptions) in 2nd house of finances.
This analysis falls into the category of “things I hope I am wrong about.” (Food for millions flows on the barge traffic of the Mississippi river. Of course, we can use trucks for that traffic. But, prices would rise significantly.)
Here is a list of patterns, generated by Planetary Aspects and Transits (PAT):
First of all, noting how many yods are associated with this Full Moon, we suggest that this is a period of important, and major, decisions for many people. No matter which choice is made, people will sense some disappointment about the option not followed. This period will be viewed with nostalgia by many in the years to come.

Sun opposite (0°8′) Moon lasts about 36 hours. (Full Moon)
Sun opposite (5°8′) Jupiter begins November 24, 2012, and ends December 10, 2012 (17 days) A tendency to spend too much money (or unnecessarily), overeat, or consume too much alcohol (or drugs) exists in this period.
Squares
Uranus square (3°29′) Pluto begins March 18, 2011, and ends June 15, 2016 (5 years, 91 days) This is the defining aspect of the next five years.

New Moon, November 2012
November 5, 2012 at 3:17 am | Posted in 2012, Astrology, Lunations | 7 CommentsTags: Astrology, Australia, eclipse, maps, Moon, newmoon, scorpio, solareclipse
Update: When I first cast this chart, I did not realize that it was for an eclipse. As you may know, all Solar Eclipses are New Moons, but not vice versa. I have added, here, a map of Australia and New Zealand that shows the total eclipse lines across northern Australia with totality near Darwin and Cairns. Northern Australia is your best bet if you want to observe, the rest of the path is over ocean in the South Pacific.
If the election is not resolved by this New Moon, then it could go as long as the end of the Mecury Retrograde (end of November). Here is the New Moon chart, with more commentary to come later: [Update: oddly, although we know the winner of the election, it is NOT fully resolved (due to Florida, again).]
Let’s face it, most of this chart is above ground. Only Jupiter in the 2nd is below ground (and in Gemini, at that). Let’s just say that big money issues are in play, but that few other things are secret with this New Moon.
We have included the U.S. map here. To be certain, the U.S. is *HIGHLY* activated by this New Moon. Do not be surprised if somehow certain Southern states play a big roll somehow post-election.
One rule of “good web design” (from a certain perspective) is to design your site so that people never have to leave. I break that rule all the time. The fact is, sometimes you need a different perspective. That said, I like Jude Cowell’s writing on this New Moon and the previous Full Moon.
I think that this article at Darkstar provides us with a warning about this Scorpio new moon. The analysis is detailed, but, to my way of thinking, the fact that it is an eclipse in Scorpio is sufficiently scary all by itself. (Maybe Halloween is coming a bit later this year?)
If you are a Wiccan, then you might like this post.

Presidential Election 2012
October 19, 2012 at 4:56 pm | Posted in 2012, Astrology, FamousPeople, Predictions | 4 CommentsTags: 2012, Astrology, election, Jupiter, mercury retrograde, Moon, presidential, retrograde, Saturn, Uranus
We will avoid an analysis of the candidates in this post because (a) it has been done extensively elsewhere and (b) we might do it later in another post. We find the election itself more interesting. (Some analysis of the candidates is necessary, but we prefer to focus on the aspects surrounding the election itself.)
By the way, we like this commentary on the 2008 election.
That said, we have decided to use the opening of the polls in Cobb County (Georgia) as our initial chart. Why? (Why not Plano, for example. That’s where we cast almost everything else. Or what about New York? Or Ohio?)
A quick and informal search of “nov 6 2012 poll opens” in our favorite search engine lead us to the Cobb County site as the first meaningful description of the opening of the polls. Since the internet was unquestionably important in the last election, and will be more so in this one (particularly via social networking), we use an internet source as the basis of “When do the polls open?”
Speaking of the internet, have you seen the Amazon Heatmap of the Presidential Election? Since it is subject to change, we will include of snapshot of what we are looking at as this commentary is being written:
So, what does that mean? Is the country really Red? The (other) polls say otherwise. Maybe what this map really means is this: Republicans tend to read more paper-based books whereas Democrats take in their information from other sources, such as television (and the internet). Is the map real, or is it skewed? Are we seeing a reflection of a population moving away from reading?
That said, here is the chart that results:
We first note that, unlike the election of 2000, the Moon is not void. It is in Leo and applying to a square to the Sun and waning. As is true with all U.S. Presidential elections for anyone who is currently living, the Sun is in Scorpio (in early November). But, unlike most other elections, the Sun has recently conjoined Saturn.
As has been true in the past 3 elections, especially 2000 and 2004, the Moon dominates the election. Unlike the void Moon of 2000, we have a Moon that is certain of its intent here. We will get a decisive result. [Update: when I wrote this I did not realize that Mercury was making a retrograde station on this date. Rather than saying we will get a decisive result, I think I should say that I expect confusion to abound. Indeed, we may not know who the winner is until as long as several weeks after the election. This will be a close one.]
Although recounts could happen, we do not expect them. We do think that the waning Moon may signal the end of an era of some kind. That is, after this term, the United States will be a very different place from what it has been like for a number of decades. We will go further and argue that this era started the last time that the Sun conjoined Saturn in Scorpio, roughly 45 days prior to the 1980 election.
The Sun is six (6) days past its first conjunction with Scorpio in (approximately) the past 30 years. Specifically, the last time the Sun conjoined Saturn (for the first time after entry) was September 22, 1980. That was a bit before the Reagan election of 1980. That election was a rare landslide election that went against an incumbent (Jimmy Carter). Specifically, a pro-business conservative Republican governor upset a liberal Democrat President who had problems in the Middle East. Could that happen here?
The polls currently say no. And, we tend to agree with the polls. This is because of the position of the Moon. Specifically, if we look at the Moon in Romney’s natal chart, it is placed between Saturn and Pluto. *IF* he is elected, then this will have an interesting symmetry with the Diamond Pattern of the 2012 Solstice.
But, Obama has the Moon conjunct Mercury, a bit more favorable as far as aspects go. We think he will win. But, Mars & Pluto in the second house say that the last four years were just the prelude, the beginning, of the deep fiscal issues that the nation, and the world, will face in the next four years. Sadly, we have not seen the worst of it yet. And, we cannot spend our way out of it.
And, some comparisons of Obama to Jimmy Carter are being made. Fox News wrote an article called “Obama is Jimmy Carter 2.0.” Fox is rather conservative, but what about the Washington Times? And, BEFORE he was elected, the New York Observer made a set of Obama / Carter comparisons. Assuming that you are old enough to remember who Jimmy Carter was, and why he was voted out of office, is that a fair comparison?
What will be interesting will be to see the mood of the country when the Sun / Scorpio conjunction happens this year. We would not be surprised to see an event of some kind between the upcoming Full Moon and that conjunction that might cause some kind of shift in the sentiment of the country. And, Jupiter has left its contact with Obama’s natal moon and is applying to a conjunction with Romney’s natal Uranus. A surprise could happen.
We note also that (1) if Moon favors Obama then we expect women, in general, to do so also. But (2) Moon between Saturn & Pluto for Romney COULD mean an unusual show of solidarity by conservative women. The ladies in red jackets might make a strong showing. Finally, (3) we believe that the Saturn return group (and we will loosely define this) of 1980 to 1986 births will be a decisive factor in this election. (They might can even out-vote the younger “college student” group that was so strong in the last election.)
Here is the chart of the Sun / Saturn conjunction for this year, followed by the 1980 Sun/Saturn conjunction chart (both set in Plano):

October 2012 New Moon
October 12, 2012 at 10:37 pm | Posted in 2012, Astrology, Lunations, Predictions | Comments Off on October 2012 New MoonTags: Astrology, Mercury, newmoon, Saturn
First of all, a hearty thank you to all of you who stopped by to read about the transit of Saturn into Scorpio. If you have an interest in the “2012 Phenomena,” then that was an important point for you. And, if you are a fixed sign, especially a Scorpio, then it was very important for you. (The fixed signs include Taurus, Leo, Scorpio, and Aquarius.)
Often, the transit of a Generational Planet (popularly called an “Outer Planet”) does not have a particular event or turning point associated with the precise moment that the transit occurs. The significance of the shift shows in the first lunation (and the first several). Upcoming is the first of these, the New Moon on Monday October 15th.
As we typically do here, we will present the charts with only minimal interpretation. We provide the “Beginners Chart” from Solar Fire with the idea that you will take our general comments and fit the details to your particular situation.
That said, we do have a few comments on this chart. This chart appears to be highly activated in the United States. Here in (Plano) Texas, we see the Sun, Moon, Saturn and Mercury in the 1st house. That is a strong indicator of work needing to be done, and the emphasis here is on the word WORK. Mercury and Saturn, together, indicate a need to pay attention to details. Mars is in the second house, and the historical experience of this astrologer is that this means that a great deal of money will be spent. When the reckoning comes, “when it is all over,” a tendency to ask “where did it go?” will be dominant. If you can possibly avoid it, avoid spending money at this time. However, you may not be able to avoid it.
Pumping money into the economy for the sake of the election is a bad idea this time, and we will all feel it later. Senators and Congressmen would be wise to avoid “pork” at this time.
Neptune and Chiron are retrograde in the 5th house, and this means that big dreams will come true for only a few at this time. We will certainly HEAR about the lotto winners (both literally and metaphorically), but very few of us will have the winning ticket. Again, the smart thing to do at this time is work hard, and pay attention to detail, in whatever your field of endeavor may be.
Work may actually be tricky because of Uranus (in Aries, as for the next few years) in the 6th house of work. Disruptions will likely catch us off guard. Again, a few will benefit from these, but most of us will not. To borrow an old quote from an old western (movie), “Endeavor to Persevere.”
Only two planets are above ground at this time for the U.S. and the Western Hemisphere. This means dealings with people will tend to be underground, too, with a fair number of “back room” deals. Some of us will be caught on the wrong side of these. (1) If it sounds “too good to be true,” then it probably is. And, (2) this is one time where they may REALLY be plotting against you.
The only above ground planets are Venus and Jupiter roughly in a square. This will lead us to “feel good” and, again, to tend to spend money we should not (or do not have). Watch out for those credit cards! They are dangerous at this time.
A few of you may be considering returning to school at this time. This should help with the decision: if grants and/or an assistantship will pay your way, then go (as long as your heart is in it). If you have to take out loans to pay for most or all of it, then do not go. This is NOT a time to incur debt.
Of course, you will have to tailor these details to your personal situation. Here is the chart:

Here is a snapshot of the PAT Analysis:
Here is a map of Africa and the Middle East. We see a Pluto line (death, destruction) through Western Africa which obviously corresponds to problems with flooding currently happening. We see a crossing of the Neptune and Chiron lines in the Red Sea which likely corresponds to the Oil & Gas find there recently by Saudia Arabia. Don’t be surprised if we see some problems with this (Neptune is ok with it, but Chiron requires a “healing” of some kind in relation to this). A strong risk exists that (oil) exploration here may have the risks of the 2010 BP oil spill. Much (planetary) activity in this part of the world, and you can explore the meanings of the lines yourself as an exercise.
Turning to Asia, we see that Western India still has problems from Pakistan (Uranus line there) and Bombay particularly has problems. Delhi does much better, and parts of India (North and South) that are east of Delhi actually do very well in this period. (An event may occur that causes India to pull together and show rather mighty strength of the Elephant. We will see continued leadership from India in the area of Democracy.) The Phillipines has a Mars line passing through and may feel some unrest. Northern Japan has a Pluto line nearby (keep an eye out for earthquakes). Here is the map:
Turning to Australia and New Zealand, we find important news coming from Western Australia and especially Perth. Issues of transportation and communication are important here; these issues make regional news but perhaps not even nationwide news. A new initiative regarding infrastructure may begin here. (Look for new road construction.)
Darwin has some issue of “healing” to do, and it might have to do with environmental issues if not reform of some kind in healthcare and hospitals. Could easily be both.
The Eastern Coast (I hope I have that right, someone let me know if I don’t) of Australia, including Sydney, does very well at this time. Do not be surprised to see this region of the world acquire a distinct financial advantage in relation to the rest of the world.
Northern New Zealand experiences a sense of renewal similar to that of Eastern India. Generally, for the most part, good times for this part of the world. Here is the map:
Europe has a variety of lines. The UK has the blessing of the Jupiter line (prosperity, similar to Eastern Australia) but the curse of the Mars line (especially through Glasgow). If not expressed as violence, however, the Mars line does provide the ability to get things done. A real danger for the UK is a tendency to spend newfound prosperity (such as the Irish oil find recently) before it is earned. Again, “where did the money go?”
Germany has a Pluto line through it. That is good for finances, but can bring intrigues, secrecy, and possibly even acts of terrorism. German intelligence agencies will almost certainly be very busy at this time. France suffers from a Saturn / Pluto crossing at this time which, in simple terms, makes life difficult. We expect unrest here. Here is the map:
The U.S. has good news and bad news. First, the bad news. New Mexico, Colorado, and points north have a Pluto / Uranus crossing. This is also true for the part of Northern Mexico due south of New Mexico. This is a difficult and violent combination; transformation of this energy into something positive is not easy. We expect some kind of event, likely a violent one, along this line.
The good news is that much of the traditional South, including Mississippi, Alabama, and Tennessee, have the Moon/Sun line (they are conjoined at the New Moon) passing through them. This extends north through Kentucky, Indiana, and Michigan. To the south, it passes new New Orleans. These regions experience a powerful sense of renewal at this time.
DC, Eastern PA, and New York have the Saturn line passing through them. This means that they will have some homework to do at this time. (As mentioned earlier, doing a good job and hard work will pay off for them at this time.)
Here is the map:

Full Moon of April 28, 2010
April 28, 2010 at 10:17 am | Posted in 2012, Astrology, Lunations, Predictions | 1 CommentTags: 2012, 2012 Focused Yod, 8 Scorpio, Astrology, ceres, full moon, FullMoon, Hele, Mercury, mercury retrograde, Predictions, Yod, Yods
First of all, many of us will be impelled to action by the impending conjunction of the retrograde Mercury with the Sun at this time. We will feel that “things” are overdue, and that we must act. A real danger of acting rashly exists here. Act, to be sure, but act wisely.
For the details of this, check the midpoint tree of Mercury on the Wheel and Data page, shown later in this article.
Full Moon Activates the 2012 Solstice Focused Yod
This Taurus Sun / Scorpio Moon Full Moon occurs at 8 Taurus / Scorpio, which is an activating point for the 2012 Solstice Focused Yod. Events that happen on or around this time will tend to have long term consequences, and that is confirmed by the final Saturn / Uranus opposition of that series with Saturn / Uranus in the final degrees of Virgo / Pisces.
Unquestionably this is a signal of some kind for the financial markets, but what kind? Some say a recovery; some say a “Bear Rally.” In this case, the entry of Pluto into Capricorn a year ago signals the beginning of a long period of what might be called “Fiscal Conservatism.” Pluto is related to investigations, and Capricorn is the sign of finances and financial markets. Deep, probing investigations into the financial services industry is, or should be, the norm. The Saturn / Uranus opposition series has been the herald, and the astrological avatar, of the recession. That opposition series also signal a need for evaluation of existing structures (Saturn) and possible change (Uranus).
Hele of Full Moon of April 28th
This Hele appears to be active and important at the time of this Full Moon:
Since Hele is a new pattern, this is difficult to interpret. However, it appears to at least potentially involve the severe anger of betrayal (Pallas) aligned with Venus (Art & Beauty or Finances) in relation to Neptune (Deception), Moon (Full), and Saturn (Authority). An “explosion” (not literal) regarding Goldman-Sachs, Madoff, etc. may be about to “come to a head” today. A pimple appears waiting to be popped.
Venus in a Yod with Ceres and Pluto v. The Full Scorpio Moon
That said, the current economic condition is about as good as it will get. It may or may not have peaked yet, but the exuberance of the preceding twenty years is no longer warranted. The Venus / Cerus inconjunct confirms that some (many) will be irrationally exuberant over the current rally. Venus is also inconunct Ceres, and Ceres and Pluto are conjunct each other.
In fact, Venus is in a Yod with Ceres and Pluto on one side, and the Moon on the other. Ceres / Pluto conjunct could be called the “I want to have my cake and eat it, too” aspect. You cannot have both, but that is exactly what we feel. A decision must be made, based on the conjunction alone. But, Yods emphasize decisions, and we are almost never satisfied with the results (from a hindsight vantage point).
To best understand the energy of this full moon, read about Ceres and Pluto here.
In this case, we must make a decision about decisions. What issue will we focus upon? If we focus upon a Ceres/Pluto viewpoint, then we will be faced with the challenge of “having our cake and eating it too.” If we pick the Moon, then we are picking a Full Moon with the Sun Conjunct Retrograde Mercury. This means that we must double check everything and look at old projects we had discarded. In the end, we will have to balance investigation and intrigue (the Scorpio Moon) with art, beauty, and productivity (Taurus). Investigation is necessary, but investigation (alone) WILL NOT GET THINGS DONE. No matter how we approach things today, if the 2012 Solstice is important, then we will see today (and this week) as a turning point in our lives.
On a more personal note, this is a tough time for anyone who starts a diet. Certainly it CAN be done; Pluto helps but only through pain or traumatic events. The Ceres (giving into the temptation to eat what you want) is far easier and far more pleasant. All that said, here is the Full Moon Chart:

Mercury and Algol for 2010
April 25, 2010 at 2:22 pm | Posted in 2012, Astrology, Patterns | Comments Off on Mercury and Algol for 2010Tags: 2010, algol, Astrology, God's fist, June, Mercury, Quintile Kite, quintiles, Thor's Hammer
Now that routine forecasting is on Weekend Forecast, Grand Trines can be devoted to more exotic subjects.
Given the season of havoc that has occurred recently, after Moon CNJ Algol at the time of the Spring Equinox, we will pick up with Mercury CNJ Algol, for 2010, as a topic.
Mercury Conjunct Algol on June 7th
Continuing with the position of the Moon Conjunct Algol at the Vernal Equinox as a topic of interest, Mercury will touch that point a number of times this year. This is a potent activator. The Sun as an activator is a topic for another post; Lunar returns are obvious (but also a topic for another post). Venus is interesting and has been briefly analyzed; upon touching Algol it produced a number of tornadoes in Texas as well as a devastating oil rig explosion in the Gulf of Mexico (the “Deepwater Horizon” catastrophe). Outer planets are an entirely different topic warranting a number of posts.
That said, Mercury is currently retrograde and overdue (pardon the wordplay) for an analysis. For fun, we are looking initially at higher order harmonics: quintile & septile. Here is the chart for Mercury touching Algol on June 7th, focused on higher order harmonics:
Pluto BiQuintiles both the Moon and Mercury providing a sense of urgency here. The mood is one of “we have to get things done.” Powerplays are a certainty; could they lead to disaster? For any willing to speculate on this chart and aspects, the remainder can be addressed in comments.
Outside of the topic of disasters, some people / organizations will be able to accomplish some amazing work in creative areas at this time. But, they would be wise to make safety paramount.
Quintile Kites circa June 7, 2010
This period is active for Quintile Kites. Using June 6th through June 8th for the search period, the first Quintile Kite involves the Ascendant at 8 Scorpio. Though one of many, that chart is representative of the energy. Of course, since the Ascendant is involved, the energy will manifest at different times in different regions. On the East Coast (of the U.S.) it is an hour earlier; on the West Coast two hours later. Here is the chart and the sensitive periods:
Sensitive Periods (set to CDT / Plano, TX):
Thor’s Hammer (God’s Fist) for June 7th
Finally, and most interesting, this period is active for the Thor’s Hammer pattern. One occurs immediately (minutes) after Mercury touches the Moon’s Equinox position, and this one directly involves Mercury:
Here are time for Thor’s Hammer during this period (set to CDT / Plano, of course):

Mayan Calendar (2012) and Saturn in Scorpio 2

Here is a chart for Winter Solstice 2012. It is set local to Plano. Jupiter is highly aspected, which is interesting because the two planets of spirituality are Neptune and Jupiter. The prominent pattern here is a Focused Yod (crucial decisions) involving Jupiter and Venus (in opposition) and Saturn and Pluto (Sextile). For more analysis of patterns, click here.
Here is the 2010 Winter’s Solstice chart, set in Plano TX:
Here is a World Map of this event. Noteworthy: a Uranus Line near Washington, DC (& East Coast), Miami, and Lima, Peru.
2010 Spring Equinox Post Hoc (After the Fact) Analysis

Barbara Hand Clow has an interesting article with a different viewpoint on the Equinox. She presents a meditation (many people are searching for that) along with an analysis. She focuses on the T-Square between Sun / Saturn / Pluto.
An Equinox is a Type of “Solar Return”
From a certain vantage point, a solstice or equinox chart is an annual “return.” Since such as “Solar Return” happens when the Sun is at precisely the same point each year, one can argue that the “Sun disappears.” That means that the Moon becomes the most important object in the sky, hence the earlier article about the Algol Moon. (In an odd way, this is a wee bit like a Solar Eclipse.)
Midpoint of Venus and Jupiter replace the Sun this year
With the Sun gone, and the Moon analyzed earlier, analysis of the T-Square should begin with Venus and Jupiter. Venus and Jupiter are exactly 16 degrees, each, from the 0 Aries point; they are equidistant. This midpoint is less that a degree from the 0 point, meaning (for most purposes) it is exact. It is also less that a degree from the opposition to Saturn (it is exact). Here is the chart, with midpoints.
Aspects to, and Uses of, Venus / Jupiter Midpoint
The midpoint of Venus and Jupiter is likely the most beneficial midpoint that can be experienced, and this means the possibility of a very good year. (Of course, some people will benefit more than others, depending on their natal chart. Unfavorable aspects can still exist in relation to the natal chart. And, even if the natal chart is superb, the person can choose to squander the opportunity.)
Sometimes astrology says what we already know, and it does so here: Venus (prosperity and harmony) will grow (Jupiter, the great amplifier) if we both (1) work for it and (2) eliminate the unnecessary (both of these are opposing Saturn). A great opportunity exists this year; this is the “brass ring” for some people.
Pluto, square and completing the T-Square, says to achieve this we must undergo profound transformation. In some settings someone must die, but someone will be born. (Or “one door closes, and another opens.”) This is not necessarily a “natural person”; it could be a business, relationship, building, community, or maybe just a very entrenched habit that has outworn its usefulness.
The Answer is not in the T-Square; The Answer is in the Triangle of Potential
But, still, the answer is not quite found in any of these. Because of the “Triangle of Potential” (mentioned earlier), with Mars at 0 Leo, action and leadership will be necessary. Pluto indicates a possible change in leadership. Pluto inconjunct (aka quincunx) Leo indicates a dissatisfaction with leadership.
(I am not speaking of Presidential leadership, though I could be. The populace routinely becomes disenchanted with Presidents as campaign promises routinely remain unfulfilled. But, I am talking local leadership. A patriarch or matriarch in a family or business may need to move into an advisory role, lest that family or business disintegrate altogether.)
But, again, Mars is the key here: take action, if you want to grow (Jupiter) your prosperity (Venus) through the hard work and self-sacrifice (Saturn) and losses (Pluto) that are likely to come to pass.
Personal and Global Communications will blend and will be essential to the change
Mercury and Uranus form a midpoint that even more precisely addressed the T-Square (and the Triangle of Potential). Both govern communication (and Mercury governs transportation), with Mercury being more private and personal and Uranus being more public and global, so communications of all kinds will be at the center of achievement.
In fact, the most important achievements this year may involve communications and how we communicate with each other, as personal and global communications become intertwined and blended. Perhaps this is a harbinger of 2012, and the changes yet to come.
