We start with a version of the chart that specifically focuses on aspects to the Sun. Since the Sun and Moon are precisely aligned in an opposition (a Full Moon is an opposition of the Sun and the Moon), aspects to the Sun are also aspects to the Moon. However, we are showing the Sun to make the point that these aspects are longer lasting, surrounding the FM before and after.

This Full Moon is active (as the previous chart showed). Here are the patterns that are in play here:

  • Grand Trines (a Grand Earth Trine and a Grand Fire Trine)
  • A Kite (and a separate “almost” Kite that we omit)
  • Hard Rectangle (which likely affects Texas and certain other geography but not everyone directly)
  • Thor’s Hammer / God’s Fist
  • Rosettas (which we show) and Heles (which we omit as poorly formed)
  • Square Keys

Our analysis: The grand trines are almost always a sign of opportunity, if we seize it, but a temptation to simply enjoy a “good time,” allowing the gift to pass us by. The Kite emphasizes this moreso, and since the kite is tied to the Moon we know this will not last long, a day or two at most, maybe only a few hours.

A Hard Rectangle appears for the chart set in Plano, and it will affect certain other parts of the United States, also, but since the Midheaven is involved it will be fleeting. Tempers can soar with these, and since Neptune is involved the anger or violence may have alcohol or drugs involved. If no alcohol or drugs, then a person who has been marginalized may go on a rampage.

The Thor’s Hammer patterns further confirms what the Hard Rectangle tells us, and at least one of these is global, not tied necessarily to a particular geography. I hate to say it, but we may still see more shootings.

Rosettas and Heles tell us that the politicians will be active, and anyone similar to politicians will also be active. In particular, issues of allegiance and loyalty will be in play, and treachery will be part of the mix. Watch your back!

Finally, we have Square Keys. These tend to tell us that we have lessons to learn, and we can learn them if we pay attention.

Full Moon 2021-03-28 (Libra Moon opposite Aries Sun)

This is the first full moon after the Vernal Equinox, and it precedes Easter on April 5, 2021.

This FM has interesting activity:

  • Hard Rectangle : like a Thor’s Hammer, tempers flare BUT an amazing amount of work can be accomplished if the energy can be focused into accomplishment
  • Yod : We each face a decision of some kind, individually (based on your chart) and collectively (because of the Hele); it is a difficult decision, and it risks upsets or accidents or ambushes or wrong decisions (given the Hard Rectangle) that lead to conflict (fights, battles, wars); The Moon is at apex of the yod (the “focal” energy) with Uranus (surprises, electrical shocks, explosions, ambushes, sometimes brilliant mental insight and solutions) on one leg and asteroid Pallas (also brilliant mental insight and solutions but they tend to be “military” in nature given that Pallas sprang fully formed and armored from the head of her father (Zeus / Jupiter / Thor, depending on whose pantheon you have adopted). Both solutions are “close” and similar but NOT the same.  Though Solar Fire did not read it this way, this is a FOCUSED Yod with the Moon at Apex and Sun / Chiron / Venus conjunct at the Focal Point (and opposite the Moon).  *IF* properly focused, again, you can accomplish MUCH, some of it of a breakthrough nature.
  • Kite or “Kite Almost” : opportunities are present; this is “luck” for some
  • Hele : in some form these have been present for weeks; it is all about politics and political alignments; cohesion within parties is strong; conflict is public; expect our current messes to WORSEN rather than needed fixes be applied
  • Grand Trines : the aspect for which this blog is named; these tend to make for “easy” times but the Hard Rectangle will override that; in that case, again, these can be “luck” if the energy of the times is properly focused; (look for opportunities; they WILL be present!)
  • T-Squares : T-Squares seem to always be present; these are associated at least in part with recent the recent Grand Cross and associated tragedies; a push will exist to “get things done” but the question becomes : “what does that mean?”  Wrong solutions are tempting if they are “easy.”(Don’t take “the easy way out.”  Work through your own issues instead of expecting a scapegoat.)

2021-03-13 New Moon (Pisces) : A Clear Message : Take Action

March 10, 2021 at 10:29 pm | Posted in 2021, 2021-Lunations, 5th Harmonic, Astrology, Astrology 2021, Higher Order Aspects, Lunations, Patterns, Special Days, Yod | 9 Comments

Pisces is generally associated with play, rest, and relaxation.  Matters of faith and sacrifice are also tied to the sign along with, sometimes, criminality.  Low forms of Pisces include alcohol and drug addiction, religious cults, and delusions.

Ordinarily, a Pisces New Moon would lead us to think of Spring and Easter.  But this one shouts : “make a decision and take action.”

Yod : A Signal to Make a Decision

First of all, we see a yod in this chart.  This is not a yod in traditional planets (seven of those) or even modern planets (ten total).  This is a yod in asteroids (a more subtle message that some would miss).

Hygeia (health and healthcare) says that we must make a decision between the smart ideas (and action) of warrior goddess Pallas and the law and legal step by step justice of Astraea.  Do you leap into action without much planning or thought, “making this up as I go” (as Indiana Jones once offered), or do you plot out the path step by step, as a lawyer might do or a judge might require.  You will have to decide between one.

No matter what you decide, do not “look back.”  You will only have regret if you do that.

For some people, this is about an intense reboot of “failed” “New Year’s Resolutions” now crafted into a more workable plan as this New Moon ends the “shadow” period of the recently past Mercury Retrograde.

What did not work before can be adjusted into something that can work.

Mars Quintile Sun/Moon

Mars forms a quintile to the Sun/Moon pair of the Full Moon.  This tells us that, regardless of our choice of path, that our action can be brilliant and decisive.

But, we must take action!  That is the message of this New Moon, nothing more, nothing less.

Full Moon : February 27, 2021

This lunation is also active.  Similar to the recent New Moon, the chart for this FM shows it has a Thor’s Hammer (potential for violence, explosions, or other disasters).  The chart also has a Yod, a clear indicator that many of us will face an important decision this weekend, continuing into early March (and possibly beyond).

The 7th Harmonic and 5th Harmonic activity is so pronounced that at least a few of you will produce works of genius this weekend.  That crazy idea from a few weeks ago?  Go back and look at it now.  You might see something special!

This Full Moon occurs on a weekend, and with the Thor’s Hammer (Fist of God) some of you will be accident prone or may get into fights.  Please be careful at this time.  If someone attempts to provoke you, walk away!

Full Moon with Thor’s Hammer

Note that the Juno-Neptune square is applying (and one of the strongest aspects in the chart other than the Full Moon itself).  Each of these, Juno and Vesta, are on a leg of the Thor’s Hammer (God’s Fist) with Hygeia at the apex.  This tells us that healthcare is a central issue, and the choice seems to be between women in general but, particularly, issues of fidelity (and betrayal) on one side and a Neptune kind of character, when benevolent: poetry, music, and arts, and when malevolent: drugs, alcohol, and cults (particularly religious but other kinds as well).

In a day to day situation, some will see this drama: a healthcare provide (physician, nurse, allied health) will face a serious conflict between a person who is a “patient” (alcoholic, drug addict, maybe just an ordinary person who suffers an illness) and the females about the patient (almost certainly family members).

Large scale: the healthcare system will face serious conflicts that involve issues of trust and betrayal (on one side) and disease (particularly the pandemic) on the other.

Full Moon with Yod

A choice is emphasized here by the presence of a Yod in the chart:

The Moon is at apex.  Since this is a Full Moon, with the Sun opposite the Moon, this is a “Focused Yod.”

One leg goes to Chiron in Aries (healthcare and teaching, but a bit of an angry or militant variety, a “warrior monk” so to speak) and the other goes to Saturn (in Aquarius, an acceptable place for Saturn but all about accomplishing results by means of restrictions).

Large Scale : Again, expect conflicts involving healthcare and a decision of whether to follow recommendations of providers (which might prove expensive) or recommendations of restrictions and “belt tightening.”

Personal : This is all about work and play and the decisions you make from now through at least March 13th (Mercury moves out of shadow AND just past New Moon in Pisces).  Due to the Mercury Shadow, this could be about “cleanup operations” for messes in the past few months.  One path is about education and healing (maybe going back to school), and the other is about restrictions and hard work.  We cannot advise which path to take: both have strengths and weaknesses.  For some of you, you will remember this time and wonder, later, “what if I had made the other choice”?

Just remember, “Hindsight is 20/20.”

Full Moon : 7th Harmonic Chart

[Click Image to Open in New Tab]

The 7th Harmonic activity in this chart is noteworthy.  This Full Moon is about “lessons learned.”  Breakthrough ideas can come, but a price in terms of karma will almost certainly be extracted.  The lessons here are complex: pay attention and write down those ideas lest they slip away from you.  For some creatives, this could be a turning point.

Full Moon : 5th Harmonic

[Click Image to Open in New Tab]

The 5th Harmonic is ALSO highly activated in this chart, confirming that some of you will produce genius level work at this time.  Politics could very much become about a “power grab” under these circumstances.  Keep your eyes and ears open.  Compose music, take photographs, make video, write poetry or do something similar with this amazing set of alignments.

Full Moon with Grand Cross

Here is the Grand Cross chart we have been discussing for weeks.  It is “in play” here also.  The most notably consideration is the Sun near Neptune (applying to a conjunction in a few days) and Moon near Vesta applying to a conjunction in a few hours.  Both of these conjunctions will bring “messages” about our circumstances.

Full Moon February 2017 (Lunar Eclipse: Leo Moon + Aquarius Sun)

Headline: In addition to being a Full Moon and Eclipse with a comet (!), this FM has a complex set of patterns, some relatively rare, that bring important opportunities that can be realized if you make the right decisions and form the right alliances.  Additionally, a thief is lurking (might be a time waster or maybe an ACTUAL thief), so be careful!

A few months have past since our last “real” astrology post (other than something I started on Lost Dudeist involving an old cold case murder), and we are overdue to put some of our own work up.  This FM is interesting, with the Moon near the important fixed star of Regulus (i.e. the “Regulator” and associated with kings and royalty and sometimes downfalls) as well as a number of patterns.  We will focus mainly on the charts, as we have done the past few years, with only minimal commentary (encouraging our readers, instead, to comment).  Names for this moon abound.  “Snow Moon” is most popular, but we like “Werewolf Moon” best!  🙂

For other forecasts (reblogs), try our Posts Page.

Basic Chart, Inner Planets, and Outer Planets

First, we have a basic chart of the FM using tight orbs (eliminating all but the strongest aspects) and a new custom layout that we designed today:

lunareclipse-2017-02-10-11th-tightorbs

The aspect grid and mid-point trees here focus specifically on the strongest and most influential aspects.  Others have analyzed this FM extensively, and I really have little new to offer except my (usual) analysis of patterns and some discussion of mid-points as well as various items that catch my eye (though they have been mentioned by others).

In addition to the proximity of the Moon to Regulus (bringing up issues of power and control as well as risk of loss related to “revenge”), we note that the moon is apply to an (out of sign) conjunction to the North Node in Virgo.  This is important for any of several reasons (such as the Nodes being the critical ingredient in all eclipses) but we note that when that aspect perfects (Moon conjunct North Node in Virgo) a bit later that a powerful earth trine will be activated (making it possible to turn opportunities seized with the FM into money or material goods or benefits).

We present next the same chart (all of these are the same), but in a different format and filtered for inner planets (and Mars).  This version of the chart (and these aspects) speak to individual issues more than collective issues and, depending on our individual natal charts (or maybe those close to us) how this FM will affect us in a very direct way:

lunareclipse-2017-02-10-inners

If you are paying attention (we hope you are if you are reading this), then you will note two things.  The first, and most compelling, is that Mars forms a triangular relationship (similar to a T-Square, but (as far as I know) an as yet unnamed pattern) with Moon / Sun in opposition (that DEFINES a Full Moon!) and Mars forming a sesquiquadrate (135 degrees) to Moon and a semi-square (45 degrees) to the Sun.  Both aspects tend to be “irritating,” Mars is all about action (often physical) and can be prone to violence, and this set of aspects will spur you to “get things done” *IF* you can avoid becoming mired in conflicts.

The second aspect is more subtle, with Mercury sextile Venus.  Really, the aspect is not the issue.  The issue is that Mercury is “peregrine” (an horary term, and one of the few of those we use from time to time), and that makes Mercury a “thief” in this chart.  Incessant chatter and nuisance events related to transportation and communication can steal your opportunity from you.  Do not let that happen!

Here is the same chart, but filtered for the outers including Chiron, Major Asteroids (Pallas, Ceres, Vesta, and Juno), the additional two we always use (Hygeia, healthcare, and Astraea, law) along with the additions of Sedna, Selena, and Eris.  We also have the calculated point Black Moon (Lilith).

lunareclipse-2017-02-10-outers

The outers tend to affect us collectively, and as individuals we look to them to see how we “fit in” with the larger groups around us as well as what the larger collective is “working through.”  The larger T-Square (Uranus (and Eris, the troublemaker), Vesta, and Jupiter) is part of a looser Grand Cross (adding in Pluto in Capricorn).  The Uranus / Pluto squares since 2012 (arguably 2011) have been discussed extensively in their role in the financial meltdown of 2008 (the year Pluto (death and major transformation) entered Capricorn (banking and finance and large corporations)) through the “Arab Spring” and other Middle Eastern wars and violence up to, and including, the current events in the Middle East as well as the political climate here in the United States.

T-Square / Grand Cross

Beyond this summary, we will not duplicate those discussion except to note that Jupiter (Libra) ALWAYS acts as an “amplifier” of anything he touches, and Vesta brings in issues of traditions (and loyalty, probably especially military traditions if we followed our hunch on this).  Grand crosses bring SOME things to a HALT and launch other things into rapid motion.  This is another “irritating” pattern (similar to the Sun / Moon / Mars pattern previously discussed), but it is huge and affects many people and will extend particularly long after the eclipse (at least 18 months if we were to guess but maybe further).  Expect the fights we have been having to escalate, particularly if they involve traditions (and anyone who “serves,” i.e. military, police, nurses, and similar).

Huber Learning Triangle

We add that in addition to the T-Square / Grand Cross, a “Huber Learning Triangle” is present that includes Vesta (traditions and service), Chiron (education, healthcare, and mentors) and Jupiter (law, higher education, sometimes health, and foreign travel / ambassadors; higher thought and sometime philanderers).  Composed of a trine (easy and straightforward), a quincunx (a confusing and messy misunderstanding) and a square (an avoidable and irritating demand for action), this outer planet / asteroid Huber affects all of us and says that everyone (liberal, conservative, democrat, republican, libertarian, and “other”) is partially right (the trine), partially out of touch with reality (the quincunx) and feeling compelled to “do something about it” (the square).  This kind of pattern may also apply in other areas of your life.

Resolutions require that the misunderstandings be addressed if they can be.  (We think this involves people who serve (military & police & firefighters & nurses & similar), their education & healthcare benefits, and a real need for resolution (maybe legal and maybe in some other Jupiter area).

Please do note that both of these major patterns are interlaced and contain Jupiter / Vesta on one of their legs.  (Making “people who serve” and the legal system almost a certainty.)

With that, we examine the  patterns in play, which are powerful and interesting (and some tend to be rare).  Since they are numerous, we will list them first (in order of consideration):

  • Mystic Rectangle
  • Kites (Kite Key) and associated Grand Trines
  • Heles (Hele Key)
  • Rosetta
  • Yods

Mystic Rectangle, Kites, and Grand Trines

These three sets of patterns should be considered together Kites are considered rare, and Mystic Rectangles even more so.  Sometimes I see a fifth point in the Mystic Rectangle pattern which creates an interlaced pair of kites that I call a “Kite Key” (taking the name from “Double Yod Key” and similar patterns).  The Mystic Rectangle shows up in interesting places and people.  For example, Hillary Clinton’s natal chart has one and it is rather pronounced.  Kites always contain at least one Grand Trine, and several are present here (particularly a Fire Grand Trine composed of Uranus (Aries), Moon (Leo), and Saturn (Sagittarius)).  As we mentioned earlier, after the Moon moves into Virgo it will form (amplify, really) an Earth Grand Trine when it perfects the conjunction to the North Node.

Here is the same chart, but filtered for the Mystic Rectangle:

lunareclipse-2017-02-10-mysticrectangle

Moon, Jupiter, Uranus, and the Sun form this MR, and this is a “lotto ticket winner” pattern.  You may not win the “actual” lotto, but a huge opportunity is facing you (if you can avoid Mercury the thief, mentioned earlier).  (Do keep in mind that, with some people, Mercury might be an ACTUAL thief.  I have actually seen that happen when I saw a cash box stolen from a charity dance by a “snatch and grab” thief when Moon in Gemini (Mercury’s home) became angular.  As a young budding astrologer, this was an AMAZING event to witness!  The money was never recovered….)  An opportunity faces you, no doubt, but do act with SOME prudence!

Kites

The kite key (interlaced kites) formed from the MR confirm this:

lunareclipse-2017-02-10-kitekey

We will note that the three bodies of Hygeia (health and healthcare), Saturn (aging, bones, test, trials, and tribulations) and Astraea (law, lawyers, judges, and the legal system) form the apex (“additional planet”) in this kite key.  So, your opportunity may involve either health / healthcare or aging or bones or the law / legal system in some way.  (All three could be involved, as in an elderly person who is injured by some Mercurial peregrine young person and from the damage to their health a lawsuit and maybe criminal action results.  Bad news for the person who cause the harm in their fit of Sun / Moon / Mars temper.  Do not be the person with the temper!  You are smart enough to read this, so you should know better!)

Grand Trines

Here is the same chart, but filtered to reveal the Grand Trines:

lunareclipse-2017-02-10-grandtrines

To some degree, these patterns of opportunity are about personal decisions that may or may not directly involve others.

Hele (Key), Rosetta, and Yods: Issues of Allegiance and Decisions

In contrast to the previous group of patterns, the Hele / Rosetta / Yod group in this eclipse necessarily involve others (except MAYBE the Yods).  We also have interlaced Hele patterns (two) which we call a “Hele Key” and these emphasize the importance of forming stable long term alliances.  The Rosetta, on the other hand, is about short term alliances and can lead later to treachery and betrayal.  “Picking the right friends” is everything at this moment, and the pair of Yods (not quite a “double yod key” but VERY similar to that pattern) are about (a minimum of) two decisions involving alliances, friends, non-friends (enemies?), decisions, and what action to take (or avoid).

Hele Key

We present, first, the same Eclipse chart, filtered for the Hele pattern (and revealing the Hele key):

lunareclipse-2017-02-10-helekey

The “common leg” in these two interlaced Hele patterns (aka the “Hele Key”) is a Vesta / Chiron trine.  A stable relationship between Vesta in Cancer (traditions and service in the water sign associated with families and children and oceans and family outings at the beach) and Chiron (mentors, education, healthcare, and attempting to heal the deep wound that never seems to quite heal fully).  This might be a good weekend to NOT take your children (Cancerian) to any place where they could drown (a Chironic wound that could never be healed).  For others, the issues are about, on one hand, service and family, and, on the other hand, dealing with painful issues that may never resolved.  If you are lucky, this could be a healthcare issue that can be resolved (for now) or an education issue (that can be completed and finished).  In any case, it is really all about your alliances and the friends you pick.

If we had to make a recommendation (and that is risky!), we would recommend males tend to opt for “college professor” (or lawyer) type friends (or maybe military) and females opt for someone Saturnine (could be an older adult or some other “authority figure”).

Rosetta

Every garden must have a snake, no doubt.  In this garden, or chart, the Rosetta is the set of relationships that might can “get things done” rather quickly, but which may turn on you in some form of treachery at some later point.

Here is the chart:

lunareclipse-2017-02-10-rosetta

Curiously, the same Vesta / Chiron trine forms the backbone of this Rosetta.

Yods: Decisions

This chart contains a pair of Yods, and in astrology a pair almost always means “two or more.”  You can also think of it as “at least two” major decisions.  Here is the chart:

lunareclipse-2017-02-10-yods

One decision involves “fate” (North Node) or “hard work” (OR BOTH) and a choice between Venus (love, beauty, harmony, and maybe money & finances; also: this looks like Venus AND Mars!) and Mercury (communications, transportation, and the aforementioned thief).  Each has their advantage, and as an astrologer it is my duty to tell you that each path has its advantages and disadvantages, but we lean toward the Venus path over the Mercury path in this case.  (Why?  Because Mercury is peregrine, or a thief, here.  If you are a criminal, then maybe that is your path, but not for the rest of us.)

The other decision involves a Chironic issue (education, healthcare, or mentor(s)) and a choice between a very strong Leo Moon (likely a strong female) and Libran (but Retrograde) Jupiter.  That is a tougher choice, but we ever so slightly favor the Leo Moon.  (Why?  It is VERY strong in this eclipse, AND Jupiter is retrograde).  In the end, only you can decide.

That is it for our forecast, but we are going to include some maps this time.  (We have not done that since 2015.)  No commentary for the maps; you are own your own in your analysis of them using what we have given you from the charts.  Also, for those interested in “Cosmobiology” and midpoint analysis, we are including midpoint trees and modulus sort strips.

When to post a New Moon or Full Moon Post

Most of my content, for about the past two years, has been reblogged.  Through a near “accident” (wondering what WordPress could do and testing different options) I transformed my blog into a “content aggregator blog.”  The decision was the correct one for me though it requires hours a day to maintain.

That said, I see a huge variety in the timing of posts for a lunation (Full Moon or New Moon).  Having watched this process for about 50 lunations or more, I have some observations:

  1.  If you are not interested in “click through” from reblogs by someone like me, time your posts for 24 to 48 hours before the lunation.  Less than 24 hours, and you have lost your audience.  They have gone out to play, and they are no longer interested in what you have to say.
  2. If you want the benefit of reblogs, as well as the full attention of your audience, time your posts about 48 to 72 hours out.  You will capture about 24 to 48 hours of audience, and my reblogs will capture the rest.  Your click through rate will tell you how interested people are in your particular way of analyzing and describing the upcoming lunation (as well as providing useful solutions to the many who seek those).
  3. From my vantage point, I can see clear “winners” and “losers” in terms of who gets readership.  If you want to see who the top five were for this Full Moon (October 15/16), check the links at the bottom of my page for the Full Moon.  The order has been randomized to obscure who was “#1” and who was “#2” and so forth.  But these five had nearly as much traffic as everyone else combined.  (OK, my page did well, too.  But I am taking myself out of the mix since I cannot evaluate myself neutrally.)  See, also: Full Moon of October 2016.

As an example, here are my stats leading up to the Full Moon of October 15/16 (Saturday night, and weekend Full Moons are almost always the busiest in terms of traffic):

Note how *SLOW* the “day of” the Full Moon traffic is compared to the previous two days!

Harvest Moon 2016 (2016-10-15) A Butterfly and a Hard Rectangle

Harvest Moon 2016 (2016-10-15) A Butterfly and a Hard Rectangle

More than a few of you have correctly deduced that this is one of the more special Full Moon(s).  We begin by showing a chart of the FM that contains a pattern we have not seen before.  We call it a “Hard Butterfly” in the absence of any other name to the contrary.  It is composed of two interlaced T-Squares that also contain a Hard Rectangle within them.  Here is the fourth order harmonic chart that most clearly elucidates this pattern.

Hard Butterfly Chart Pattern for Full Moon of October 2016

Here is the Full Moon chart filtered to more clearly show the Hard Rectangle:

As we have discussed before, these kinds of patterns (T-Squares and especially Hard Rectangles) provide so much energy that they are “dangerous.”  You can accomplish much, but you run the risk of “overdoing it.”  Martians (Intelligence Agencies, Police, and Athletes) will tend to do well and in some cases have tremendous accomplishments but, again, run the risk of “overdoing it.”  If you are not a Martian, then make certain you avoid dangerous people, places, and things and avoid being such a person yourself.

A Thor’s Hammer (God’s Fist) pattern is also present with Saturn (the Greater Malefic, and a source of tests, trials, and tribulations) is at the Apex.  This is yet another amplifier of the situation we have already described, and it is associated with people, places, and things going “boom.”  Here is the same chart but filtered for the TH:

We will likely have more to say and more to add over the course of the day as the FM moves towards perfection.  Till then, we encourage you to focus your efforts into beneficial and useful work, avoid dangerous people, places, and things, and have as much safe fun as you can muster on the even of this “Harvest Moon.”

2016-09-16 Lunar Eclipse (Full Moon; Rosetta + T-Squares)

2016-09-16 Appulse Lunar Eclipse (Full Moon)

First of all, let’s clarify the basic message of this Full Moon / Eclipse: you have much to accomplish in the next month to eighteen months, some of the projects are overdue, you have the energy to do it if you can avoid unproductive and unnecessary anger (note that SOME anger, sometimes, CAN be productive!), and you will have to form temporary allegiances with people who have the potential to later betray you.  THAT is the basic message.

How do we get this?  First, Mercury is Retrograde and less than a week away from the Direct Station.  This FM/Eclipse must involve projects on hold, details that must be attended to, and the resurrection of old projects whose time has come.

Next, since this is a Full Moon, it will govern the next two weeks the strongest but could govern a period of up to eighteen months because an eclipse is involved.  The time period may vary based on other factors such as subsequent eclipses, subsequent Mercury retrograde / direct stations, and patterns in your personal chart or the charts of those around you.

Finally, this eclipse has a number of T-Squares in play, including a very “tight” (potent, powerful) T-Square with Mars in Sagittarius squaring the Sun in Virgo and Moon in Pisces.  Mars is at 23 degrees and Sun/Moon at 24 degrees, and in many cases (but not all) this involves Algol aspects in the birth chart.  If you have Algol near 24 degrees (as many do) ans aspected in your birth chart, then you will likely “feel” this one.  Moon is also close to Chiron (health, education, and sometimes both; the “wounded healer”) and those issues may be in play.  (More on that in a moment.)

We could stop there, regarding the mutable T-Square, but ANOTHER mutable T-Square is present, this one involving Saturn in Sagittarius, squaring the Nodes.  Note that Neptune is conjunct the South Node, and this makes sense because the third (of three) Saturn square to Neptune recently perfected.

This mix (Nodes, Saturn, and Neptune) brings in a heavy dose of “karma” tempered by problems with “reality checks.”  (aka “Oops, my reality check just bounced.”)  No matter which side of it you are on, you are WRONG here.  (That is what you wanted to hear, right?)

If you are being practical and realistic (Saturn) then you lack vision and will never accomplish your heart’s desire (Neptune).  And if you are a bit too dreamy, then you lack the necessary practical effort to accomplish it, either.  The real answer is in balance.  Some dreams can never be accomplished but, also, sometimes we surprise ourselves.  BOTH of these contradictory and paradoxical truths are necessary.

We present the chart of the FM / Eclipse, filtered for T-Squares:

2016-09-16-lunar-eclipse-full-moon-t-squares

While many (most?) other astrologers have focused on the Mars / Eclipse T-Square, we believe that you cannot safely ignore the T-Square with Vesta (traditions) in Cancer (family in particular but also water, liquids, oceans, and related) at the apex, Uranus (23 Aries) squaring Vesta on one side, and Venus (love, money, health) / Astraea (law, lawyers, and the legal system) / Hygeia (health and healthcare) in Libra (very STRONG for Astraea) on the other side.

We would not be surprised to see important lawsuits filed at this time, or events that lead to important lawsuits, or both.  These will tend to involve health and healthcare (Hygeia AND Venus) especially involving females (Venus) and maybe cosmetics or beauty products (Venus).  Do pay attention to these possible issues that may affect some of you, particularly if you are twenty three degrees of a Cardinal sign (i.e. Aries, Cancer, Libra, or Capricorn).  We suspect that those born near 23 Capricorn (January 12th to January 14th) may feel this especially strongly.

More obviously affected are the mutables (Gemini, Virgo, Sagittarius, and Pisces) at twenty three degrees, and we think those at 23 Gemini (June 12th to June 14th) will feel this especially strongly.

What does “feel” mean?  It means that you will have “strong” energy and that is very good or very bad with not much in between depending upon your “level of advancement” (which is New Age speak for the ability to harness and direct the energy and circumstances to your will).  For mutables, this might be more of “surfing” the energy and circumstances (as you tend to do anyway) rather than “harnessing” the energy and circumsntances.  Other signs would be wise to work on developing those same skills to the degree possible.  (I am certain that a Taurus surfer exists somewhere in the world, maybe several of them, but it is a bit difficult to imagine a piece of granite gliding atop a wave.  I suppose anything is possible.  I have seen the universe produce some rather curious events and circumstances in my lifetime.)

So, in summary, you must address ALL THREE sets of issues (T-Squares) to “get this right.”

Most forecasts stop there, but we will not.  (OK, I admit it.  That was a self-serving advertisement.  Yes, it is true.  I AM a solar Leo.  The only reason I can do astrology is that 11th house stellium.  In a sense, I am an “Aquarius in Leo clothing.”  But, I digress.)

The pesky matter of that Rosetta remains.  Short term alliances are essential to accomplish what you must get done, whether it is in the next two weeks or next eighteen months, but the fact of the matter is that the Rosetta pattern tends to bring treachery.  People not only tend to “sell out,” but they do so easily.  Expect no loyalty no matter how sincere they may seem.  Here is the same chart, but filtered for the Rosetta pattern:

2016-09-16-lunar-eclipse-full-moon-rosetta

At this point you should have enough to work with.  For some people, maybe many people, this is a special and rare opportunity.  (As, curiously, much of 2016 has been.)  Use it wisely.  (2017 and points forward will be a very wild roller coaster.  You will look back at these days longingly.  Trust me on that!)

Love it or hate it, the period that started “about” August 15th is soon coming to an end.  We will have a major shift, maybe a previously unthinkable shift, soon.  (This might involve presidential politics.)  Expect it.

Solar Eclipse of September 1st 2016

This particular eclipse is personal for reasons I do not wish to disclose on the open internet.  I thought about NOT writing about it and just leaving the 2016 New Moons page and the writings of others (reblogs) as my proxy.

But, I changed my mind.  And then I found a body of work I had produced on this eclipse a few weeks ago.  No written work, mind you, but chart graphics from the time when I developed my analysis of the rather important Grand Quintile of August 28th.  That confirmed for me that I needed to put up what I had done in a post.

This Grand Quintile period we are in, from August 28th until September 11th, is particularly rare.  If you check the Grand Quintiles from 1800 to 2050 page, you will find most of them last a few hours or a day.  Exceptions exist, such as in 1809 and 1810, but they are just that: exceptions.  So is this current window.

This Solar Eclipse, a special type of New Moon, is a punctuation mark in this window.  It also corresponds to an Eclipse in September of 1997, which was an extremely important period for me personally.  I am left wondering what this one will bring me.

First, let us take a peek at the Kite pattern that  is present.  Kites are not extremely rare, but they are not particularly common either.  This one has the Eclipse, itself, at the focal point and Neptune in opposition (and Neptune is part of the Grand Trine that forms the body of the kite).  (Kites are always, inherently, built from Grand Trines, the pattern that is the namesake of this blog (and my internet alter ego).)  Some of us, likely many of us, are facing one of the most important opportunities of our lives.  We are at one of the most important junctures in our individual and collective lives.  The decisions, and followup actions, that we make (or not) are critically important to the results that manifest (or fail to manifest) consequently.  Negligence is a profound danger here.

Here is the chart of the Eclipse, filtered for that Kite pattern:

Solar Eclipse 2016-09-01 Kite (NM, Mercury Rx)

Juno and Vesta (both major asteroids) form the other points of the Grand Trine.  Juno brings issues of trust and intimacy to the forefront, particularly as they involve wives, sisters, mothers, and other female family members.  Vesta is about traditions and whether or not we follow and honor them or create new ones when old ones no longer serve us.

Here is the same chart, filtered for the Grand Trine instead of the Kite:

Solar Eclipse 2016-09-01 Grand Trines (NM, Mercury Rx)

We note that the opposition of the Eclipse to Neptune has not yet quite perfected, but will perfect soon with the annual opposition of Sun to Neptune on Friday.  Friday’s opposition has a Thor’s Hammer (energy, often in the form of violence or explosions) and a Yod (insisting that an important decision must be made).  You will have to make a decision in this period, and something or someone from the past (Mercury Retrograde) will be part of that decision.

This Eclipse also has a Thor’s Hammer (aka God’s Fist) present with all the “energy” (and DANGER!) that brings.  (Do be careful!)

Solar Eclipse 2016-09-01 Thors Hammer (NM, Mercury Rx)

We also note the presence of a Rosetta; we interpret that pattern as indicative of the important of short-term alliances and relationships.  Treachery is a very real possibility, and people (including major politicians) are likely to shift their positions and allegiances at this time.

Solar Eclipse 2016-09-01 Rosetta (NM, Mercury Rx)

T-Squares are present and amplify the energy (and danger) of the Thor’s Hammer:

Solar Eclipse 2016-09-01 T-Squares (NM, Mercury Rx)

This next point is particularly important: please note there are TWO independent sets of T-Squares.  This makes “handling” the sources of “irritation” difficult and more likely impossible.  We would not be surprised at all to hear about someone or something “blowing up” (or a mass shooting) in the next few days.  Since the Eclipse really consumes nearly the entirety of the African continent, we would not be surprised to see the event there.

Here are the Seventh Harmonic or “karmic” aspects:

Solar Eclipse 2016-09-01 7th Harmonic (NM, Mercury Rx)

We note the presence of a triangular pattern of septiles composed of a septile, biseptile, and triseptile.  Chiron, Saturn, and Astraea are involved.  We would not be surprised to learn of a major lawsuit (or similar legal system involvement) involving either educational or healthcare systems (or both).  Frankly, we think there will be “hell to pay.”

We will stop there, but we cannot emphasize strongly enough just how important this window of opportunity is.  After September 11th, most of it closes.  All will be gone by Mercury Direct Station and the Autumnal Equinox.  By then, “the concrete will have set.”

Only a handful of New Moons have a Grand Quintile during the period from 1800 to 2050 (and Solar Fire did not count this NM as one of them though we argue that it is):

Grand Quintile of August 28, 2016

As we have written elsewhere, we are entering an amazing window of time.  Here is the basic chart for the Grand Quintile of August 28, 2016, filtered for the Grand Quintile:

Grand Quintile 1 2016-08-28 (prior to Solar Eclipse)

Here is what we have written about this window of time that begins with this pattern:

We are at the edge of entering a truly amazing period of time that starts “about now” (late Leo, circa August 15th and points forward) until some time in late September, possibly “about’ the change of seasons at the Fall Equinox.  Here is why it is amazing:

  1. A Grand Quintile forms on August 28th.  These are even more rare than the Mystic Rectangles we encountered a few weeks ago.  By itself, that would be enough, but….
  2. Mercury stations retrograde on August 30th (and, as of August 15th, we are in the “shadow” of the retrograde where we are already “feeling” some of the disruptions and shifts in our patterns that are yet to come).  (See, also: Mercury Stations and Ingresses for 2016.)  I would argue that the Grand Quintile of August 28th continues to be in effect.  BUT, how to use that massive influx of creative genius when Mercury is making a (retrograde!) station?  And we note that Mercury stations direct again on September 22nd, shortly after the change of seasons (Fall Equinox).  Clustering of events like this are a sort of “punctuation mark.”
  3.  We have a Solar Eclipse (New Moon, but a rather special kind) that affects most of the African continent and especially central Africa.  This Eclipse perfects on September 1st and has a number of other patterns present.  While I am not sure of this, I would not be entirely surprised to discover that some (many? most?) people of African descent are affected.  AND *SOME* geneticists argue that, to some greater or lesser degree, we are all descended from Africans (those of us who are of Asian or Caucasian descent being nomads who left Africa very long ago).  I would AGAIN argue that the Grand Quintile is still in effect.  (Why?  Because it “re-appears” on September 3rd and continues to September 11th.  That leads me to believe that the computer program that detects this pattern cannot see something that, currently, only human eyes can.)
  4. “Another” Grand Quintile (re-)appears on September 3, 2016 and continues until September 11, 2016.  Is it really that big of a deal?  YES!  If you look at our page “Grand Quintiles from 1800 to 2050,” you will see that about 200 of these occur in the 250 year time span (a quarter of a millenium).  BUT, they often occur in groups of two or three or more during a particular year and then not again for several years.  The next ones happen in 2020 (curiously, the next election cycle!).  For those of you who can “channel” this amazing energy, you have a window where you may produce some of the greatest creative works of your lifetime.  Please do not let this slip by you!
  5. Mercury Retrograde will move backwards across the Sun AND North Node (Karma) during this cycle and back across them after moving forward.  “Luke, it is your DESTINY!”  Whatever is the best use of your personal creative genius, this is the time to use it/them.

We hope to write some posts about this amazing window, but sometimes we get derailed by personal events, have computer problems, etc.  AND, we are getting older and crankier and sometimes we just do not get things out the way we would like.  The computer that we used to produce our posts and content was out of commission for MONTHs, and it is just now online again.  We will help if we can, but on the outside chance that does not happen, you need to HELP YOURSELF.  Make a list of your goals, especially your creative goals, and what you would like to bring to fruition at this time.  Is it photography?  Poetry, Songwriting? Sculpture?  Is your gift creative writing or maybe writing “how to” books?  How about computer programming or “big data” data science?  Are you a medical researcher or someone who might be writing a law review article?  Whatever it is, THIS is your window.  Every moment is precious.  Use it wisely.

And, as far as the political arena goes, expect to see nothing short of AMAZING and unprecedented events!

Here is what one commentator wrote about the Grand Quintile of 2004.

Full Moon August 18th 2016: Danger and Opportunity

Full Moon August 18th 2016: Danger and Opportunity

We see both danger and opportunity in this Leo / Aquarius Full Moon.  With Sun at 25 degrees Leo and Moon at 25 Aquarius, both are square to Algol in Taurus.  That alone would be enough to give pause.  But, a pronounced Thor’s Hammer pattern is present, and that is present with anger and temper and people, places, and things that go Boom!

Here is the FM chart, filtered for the Thor’s Hammer pattern:

Full Moon 2016-08-18 Thor's Hammer

A Rosetta pattern is present, telling us that we will need to make allegiances but they will tend to be short-lived and may turn to treachery:

Full Moon 2016-08-18 Rosetta

We often ignore T-Squares in our analysis, but a number are present and some of this has figured in a major way in events this summer starting in May / June.  Here is the same FM chart but filtered for T-Squares:

Full Moon 2016-08-18 T-Squares

Please do note that Mars, in Sagittarius, is square the Nodes in Virgo / Pisces (the Nodes are sometimes called “Rahu” and “Ketu” by Vedic astrologers).  This brings an especially “karmic” or fated feel to any violence that occurs at this time.  And, by this FM, at least some of the violence will have manifested leading this to be a time of sorrow and weeping for many.

Opportunity is present and signaled by Grand Trines that connect to the South Node / Neptune:

Full Moon 2016-08-18 Grand Trines

We note that, while a true Kite is not present, signalling a strong opportunity, we have what has been called an “almost Kite” completed by Pluto.  Since Pluto is at the apex, we expect the “opportunity” to deal with death, police, intelligence agencies, or financial institutions (or some mix of those).

Finally, the presence of a Yod signals that an important decision must be made.  We choose one path or the other and should never look back.  If we look back, we will only see the rosy picture of the other path and not the hidden dangers that peppered that choice.

2016-08-02 New Moon in Leo (Mystic Rectangle and more)

2016-08-02 New Moon in Leo (Mystic Rectangle and more)

The New Moon of August 2nd is characterized by a Mystic Rectangle that begins July 30th and persists until August 4th.  Mystic Rectangles are comparatively rare, but we note that 2016 has an abundant supply of them.  (Click Here to compare other New Moons of 2016.  And click here to compare the Full Moons of 2016.)

Hillary Clinton also has a Mystic Rectangle in her natal chart.

Here is the chart of the New Moon, filtered to identify the Mystic Rectangle:2016-08-02 New Moon (Leo, Mystic Rectangle).jpg

The question remains: WHAT IS a Mystic Rectangle?  A variety of comments have been made, but analysis of astrological patterns is not discussed much elsewhere (that I have found) and I am left with the impression that it is a late 20th Century / early 21st Century innovation.  (I am sure someone “out there” has evidence to the contrary.  But, so far, I have not seen it.)  Here are some of the links we have found:

These all say the same thing: (1) they describe the pattern (two oppositions tethered together by sextiles and trines and (2) it is a rare but benevolent pattern.  On #2, some variance exists with some saying that it is merely “helpful” while others describe it as “golden.”  We think that it may include important lessons learned since we have seen it tied to certain traumatic events this year.

In any case, a window is open containing one from July 30th until August 4th of 2016, and the Leo New Moon is contained within that window.  Since what we call a “Kite Key” is also present (two interlaced Kites that are often associated with a Mystic Rectangle), we think that a rare window of opportunity is present here.  We suggest you seize it.

This New Moon also has a Hele (long term alliances) and Rosetta (short term alliances that might include treachery) present.  We present the New Moon filtered first for the Hele and then again for the Rosetta:

We think these patterns mostly speak for themselves and need little explanation to regular readers of this site.  But we will recap: the Hele (Venus / Uranus + Mars / Chiron) is about long term alliances and choosing between one side or the other.  (For this reason, we consider both the Hele and Rosetta as “polarizing” influences that lead to conflicts such as The Police (as a collective) versus the Black Lives Matter movement (as a collective).)  In this case, one side (leg) is Venus / Uranus (unusual romances or innovative finance, take your pick) and the other is Mars / Chiron (the Wounded Healer (health, education) in alliance with The Martians (Warriors such as police, military, and similar)).  You can pick one side or the other but not both.

The Rosetta has Mars / Chiron on one leg (and we note that is RATHER similar to Mars / Neptune) and Astraea / Vesta on the other leg (law and lawyers aligned with traditions and “the way we have always done things).  We think, among other things, this might involve the privacy battles between, on one side, Apple and the EFF (and most of the tech community), and, on the other side, the NSA and FBI (and most of the police and intelligence agencies).  Needless to say, elements within each “side” do not trust other elements within the same side.  Presenting a “unified front” is tricky.

This complex and sophisticated New Moon has more to offer.  Upon filtering for Kites, we found what we call a “Kite Key.”  This is a pair of interlaced Kites, and it represents a rare and incredible opportunity for those with “eyes to see it.”  Here is the same New Moon, filtered for the Kites (and “Kite Key”):

We note that the Apex of this pattern is found in Vesta in Cancer: traditions and “how we have always done things” particularly with regard to home, oceans, graves (and graveyards), and anything having to do with water or any kind of “final resting place.”

The underlying Grand Trine is composed of asteroids, and if you do not use those then you can disregard much of what we are saying.  (But, we think most of the audience DOES want to here what we have to say.)  Here is the same chart, filtered for the Grand Trine underlying the Kites:

Finally, a Yod is present.  That means you MUST make an important decision.  You can choose one side or the other, but you cannot choose both.  Here is the same New Moon, filtered for the Yod:

The last time we had a New Moon on August 2nd was 1970.  If you were born on that date (August 2nd of 1970) then this NM represents a special turning point for you.  We would argue that the same is probably true, also, for those born on August 1st or August 3rd.

Next is a list of Leo New Moons from 1950 until 2050.

Gemini New Moon 2016-06-04 (Grand Cross, Grand Trine, and Rosetta)

We are writing this post a few hours in hindsight, a bit more than four hours after perfection.  We note that the annual Sun Square Jupiter aspect perfected earlier today.  (We will minimize duplication of the commentary on the earlier aspect.)

This is a dynamic New Moon (NM) and an important one, and much has been written by others because of the presence of a Grand Cross (GC).  This is a longer term GC which involves outer planets (notably Saturn, Neptune, and Jupiter), but the NM itself is (1) conjunct Venus and (2) forms the fourth leg of the GC.  Grand Crosses are relatively rare even when using asteroids (Chiron, Juno, Pallas, Vesta, and Ceres as well as others such as Hygeia and Astraea) or calculated points (North Node, South Node, Vertex, and so forth).  But this GC uses “real” planets, and that, by itself, is enough to make it a popular subject of discussion, interpretation, and speculation.

Maybe even more notable is that it is a mutable GC, and these invariably signify endings of some kind.  With a NM near the end of the Mecury Retrograde shadow, after the Direct Station, all are seeking to move forward and launch new projects.  AND you *CAN* do that, but these projects are more in the order of reaping what you have sewn.  Think of these projects as specifically being built on the past and what you have accomplished (or failed to accomplish).  This is your window to take stock and act accordingly.

And, on the outside chance you are uncertain about that, let me be clear: the upcoming Full Moon has a CARDINAL Grand Cross in it, and, oddly, that is about beginnings.  It tells us that the “cleanup period” between that Full Moon and the next New Moon is all about launching truly new projects.  (I am NOT saying you should launch during a waning moon.  I AM saying it is time you consider the option of COMPLETELY starting your life from the ground up and, absent that, questioning every assumption in your life about how things “have to be” with an eye to junking what is not working for you any more and doing things that are TRULY NEW in the most fundamental way possible.  This is your chance to TRULY change the train you are on.)

Whether all of us realize it or not, we are undergoing a large scale shift that is operating in many areas of our lives.  The current state of affairs of the United States Presidential election reflects that.  People feel strongly.  I will avoid becoming too political here, as I ordinarily avoid that, but many people object to the political system as it stands, and I mean many conservative people object as well as the more obvious liberal objections seeking “change.”  But what we see as election politics reflects deeper and more profound problems and issues.  And, they are not just in the United States.  This is a global phenomenon.

The late Jonathon Cainer, an astrologer whose work I followed, wrote of this a number of times when he spoke of the “bell” (Uranus Square Pluto) that would “toll seven times.”  Cainer was both a poet and a giant (as well as a bit of a character), and his voice will be missed.  (But we are happy that Oscar appears to be carrying the torch now.)  Jonathon Cainer stressed the point repeatedly: Uranus Square Pluto will bring HUGE global changes beyond anything we have seen (at least in recent generations if “ever”).  I agree.

By itself, that would be enough, and nothing more need be said.  But the fact is that we have an amazing series of patterns coming in the next few months starting now (and with the upcoming Full Moon).  Those of you who are astrologers know what I am talking about.  I see more of you writing about patterns this year, and I strongly suspect at least some of you have looked at certain pages I put up in late 2015, such as Rare and Absent Patterns in 2016 and, more generally, the 2016 Overview.  Whether or not you are an astrologer, if you like to do advanced planning to organize your life, then I suspect you should peek at those pages.

We also recommend you compare the Gemini New Moon of 2015 (last year) and the Taurus New MooooN of a month ago.  And by “compare,” I do not mean just peek at my pages.  Pull out your journal (you know the one, the one I recommend you keep, and, yes, I am chastising you like your mother would if you are not doing it, especially after telling you about FutureMe) and compare this month to last month, this month this year to this month last year.  You reap what you sew, but there MUST be some opportunity there.  This New Moon tells us that.  You must have “eyes to see.”

That said, and keeping in mind just how powerful the upcoming Full Moon / Solstice will be, we present the chart for the Gemini New Moon of 2016 with the Mutable Grand Cross (MGC):

2016-06-04 New Moon (Grand Cross)

In case you were not already aware, an AMAZING number of squares are present in this chart.  Children born at this time will be nothing short of revolutionary.  I knew a woman, deceased within the past few months, who was born with a similar birth chart.  She was the most gifted numerologist I ever met (I confess, I simply have NO idea how Numerology works, but she was completely accurate), and she had a greater ability to anger people (most people, even delicate ones, said “p*ss off” people) than almost anyone else I knew. She made people ANGRY with her criticism!  I tolerated her barbs because I really liked her (and I knew she liked me), but most did not.  Nevertheless, she was a very prosperous businesswoman here in Dallas, and all those squares left an impression on me.  (And, at least from my vantage point, she will be missed.  I liked her.)  This chart looks like that, but maybe even MORE squares than she had!

Interpret that however you choose.  As mentioned earlier, many others have written interpretations of this:

BUT, we would like to add that the Grand Cross is NOT the only pattern in this chart.  It is clearly the most striking of the patterns, but it is NOT the ONLY pattern.  We also have a Grand Earth Trine (opportunity!) and a Rosetta (alliances, but typically short-lived and a risk of treachery later).  We present the chart for the Grand Earth Trine (Pluto, Jupiter, Mercury) first.  We also note that Grand Water Trines are associated with the opportunity to make quite a bit of money, but we think this Grand Earth Trine (with Jupiter and Pluto involved) has that same ability, maybe even more so.  The next two weeks could be a rather large “money maker” for those with “eyes to see.”  Here is the chart:

2016-06-04 New Moon (Grand Trines)

Please do note that the North Node is involved in this Grand Trine, also, and that is all about “Karma” (again, reaping what you have sewn) as well as “hard work.”

Finally, we have the Rosetta.  Let us be clear: a Rosetta can accomplish a huge amount of work in a short time.  But the relationships are short-lived, and the potential for treachery exists.  We also note that one leg of the Grand Earth Trine is embedded in this Rosetta.  Here is the chart:

2016-06-04 New Moon (Rosetta)

The next two weeks will gave gotcha and glitches associated with the Grand Cross.  And you can focus on those, or you can focus on the opportunity that will come to you.  The choice is yours.

2016-05 W21: Forecasts for Week 21 of 2016

Archive of Week 20 (W20)

We are the end of May and a series of retrogrades including Mercury Retrograde that has been with us for a few weeks (to a few months, depending on which retrograde we are talking about) will be ending.  Jupiter has moved direct, and Mercury Retrograde stations direct now.  Direct movement will be slow, and we will be in the “shadow” for a bit, but now is a good time to start launching truly new projects as opposed to reviewing and resurrecting old ones.

Those old projects either proved to be a good idea “after all” or they did not.  If they are good, stick with them and grow them.  But, if not, put them back on hold or discard them altogether.  The time is at hand to look at new things and new ideas.

The Taurus New Moooon perfected on May 6th, and we have a Full Moon (Sagittarius Moon / Gemini Sun) on May 21st (a day after Sun moves into Gemini).  Let’s be clear: for better or worse, “things” will change with this lunation and the accompanying Mercury direct station.

School is out, and has been out, for most students, and that particular weekend (May 21/22) marks the true beginning of “summer” for anyone who follows the academic year.  But astrological summer, the official beginning of “summer,” does not begin until the Summer Solstice on June 20th (which also has another full moon).  The retrograde station of Chiron on June 27th and direct station of Mars on June 29th will mark another significant shift.  We will cover these events in more detail as they near, but keep in mind these critical dates as you set plans for vacations, trips, meetings, and so forth.

May 2016 (Mars Out)

Week 21 (W21)

Sunday May 15th

Moon joins Jupiter in early morning hours (circa 3 AM CDT) and emphasizes the Grand Earth Trine that dominates the day.  For most people, this is a “feel good” day though earth and water signs benefit most.  Jim Shawvan notes an Opportunity Period for most of the day, and we agree.  Do keep in mind that Mercury is still retrograde (as are several other planets), so either avoid doing anything “too serious” or focus on older “on hold” projects that need to relaunch.  Much CAN be accomplished today, if that is your intent, but you must choose the right projects and keep in mind that some aspects may need to be revisited after Mercury retrograde ends (May 22nd) and possibly later this summer.

Monday May 16th

The opportunity period ends early and Moon is void until half past noon CDT.  Some people see yesterday’s window vanish and wonder “what happened?”  But you are smarter than that because you read these forecasts, right?  You did take complete advantage of yesterday’s window and leave nothing undone until today, didn’t you?

If not, no worry, other windows will open again “some day.”  But “getting things done” is tougher today than Sunday, and today just might have to be a cleanup day.

Tuesday May 17th

We face a decision today, a rather “loose” and open yod that dominates the afternoon.  You must make a decision, and we cannot tell you which path to pick except to pick one and do not look back.  You will be tempted to wonder “what might have been” if you had picked the other path.  Do not waste time doing that; it would not have been any better.

Wednesday May 18th

Accomplish what you can in the early morning; a loose T-Square will give you the “juice” to do that if you can focus yourself.  After a bit past 10 AM the Moon turns void and most of the rest of the day is best spent in review, cleaning house, or as a “day off.”  Do keep in mind that taking a “day off” midweek can be a good idea every so often.

Thursday May 19th

To be frank, this is a rather strange day.  Some people will have rather remarkable opportunities, truly gifts, come to them, but it does require intense work of some kind.  The “work” may be entirely focused on addressing your emotions in certain situations or it may be actual work: doing bookkeeping or conducting an experiment or some other kind of research.  Some people, as well, will be “losers” and this will be a bad day for them.

Health and educational issues will tend to come to the forefront.

This last full day of Taurus has a feeling of “fate” to it for many of us.

Friday May 20th

Sun moves into Gemini early Friday morning, and just in case you did not get the message yesterday, change is afoot.  Things are about to become different, very different, for some people (if they have not already).  The Full Moon is tomorrow (Saturday) and Mercury stations direct on Sunday.  Windows you thought would never close are now gone forever, but others will open.  Such is life.

Saturday May 21st

The Full Moon today gives us a glimpse of the future but with a few pieces missing.  Today is a very important day for some people.  Casual meetings that are supposed to be “fun” turn out to be critically important turning points.  Some people will meet their “life partner” today and it will seem like both and “accident” and “fate” at the same time!  Be assured that universe becomes “unlocked” for some people, and they are able to do certain things that transcend the ordinary.

For others, today will seem massively chaotic and like a day best spent at home.  Fire and air signs tend to prosper; unenlightened variants of earth and water wonder what happened to the window that was open this past Sunday.  Be assured that you will see even more change with tomorrow’s Mercury direct station and the events of next week.

Eyes of Heaven

6-7 May

Use any power in struggles wisely during this lunar month. If someone comes at you with their anger and other harsh energies, allow their stuff to pass on by, without entering your body and emotions.

If you would like to dive deeper into the lunar cycle, the folks at Zodiac Arts may help you with that study. There’s a new mandala every month to color as a meditation on the energy being experienced. Here’s their site – Zodiac Arts

Venus💎Lotus

“One can never consent to creep when one feels an impulse to soar.”
Helen Keller, The Story of My Life

The New Moon in Taurus occurring on Friday, May 6th, 2016, at 3:29 PM EDT is our ticket to paradise! New Moons are about release, renewal, and fresh energy and in Taurus, heightens our awareness of natural beauty, while bringing us closer to all things decadent, soft and lovely.

This New Moon is also the most lusciously Venusian of the year with the Sun, MercuryandVenus in the warm, sensual realm of Taurus. We are being supported by stable, enduring, divine energy…

“Lucky Jupiter turns direct in the heavens during this initiating New Moon phase on May 9th 2016 and the two benefics, Venus and Jupiter, come together the following day, May 10th 2016. This New Moon really is building towards something special.
