A total solar eclipse will occur and be visible on Monday, August 21, 2017, within a band across the entire contiguous United States (for the best places and other details click on zoomable chart). This eclipse will happen in Leo – which now means, as you can see in the attached chartwheel, simultaneously tropical, sidereal and constellational Leo.

During totality, the brightest star in Leo, Regulus will be visible just to the left of the eclipsed Sun, while Mercury is further to the left and Mars is to the right (see chart).

Good Morning, here we go! The Full Solar Eclipse we have waited for is finally here!

Today we experience the New Moon Solar Eclipse! The Sun and Moon align with each other this afternoon in the sign of Leo. This New Moon is a total Solar Eclipse, oh La La  and this can affect our lives for the coming six months.

Leo is the sign of confidence, romance, enthusiasm , fun, creativity, recreation, sports and being playful. All of Leo positive aspects will be extra highlight during this New Moon. However on the more negative side of Leo aggression, arrogance, and selfishness energy can also be floating around. There is often great hype over eclipses. Some believe, as they did in ancient times, that they represent omens, periods of crisis and turmoil. This Solar Eclipse has turned our heads in America. We will look up and catch sight of Sun and Moon in an intimate moment of visual contact. Our attention will shift away from domestic drama to celestial dance. How wondrous is it, that our Moon, the Earth and Sun are so perfectly sized, so perfectly placed in the cosmos, to create these yearly events in the sky, solar and lunar eclipse!
