The Moon enters Cancer today, and the Moon is all about how we feel on the inside, it’s a sense of self and ease and comfort. When the Moon is in Cancer, you get the urge to nurture other people, become more intuitive, creative, your focus shifts to family, expressing your feelings and being over loving is high priority. Now that the Moon and Venus are in Cancer we are all going to have a sense of Love, and in particular expressing that love and how you feel. It’s an emotional loving time. Aww!

As of August 8th, we are in the midst of a particularly gnarly Mercury Retrograde. I blame August’s lunar and solar eclipses for throwing a bunch of emo-intensity and earthshaking change into the mix. In any case, welcome home to the usual Mercury Retro parade of ghouls: scheduling mix-ups, technology snafus, snarled traffic, minor car issues, mail slowdowns, long lines, miscommunications and other delays and inconveniences.

Mercury trucks in the details that make our lives run smoothly, and that we take for granted. That means you don’t have to worry about getting dumped, getting injured, violence, disaster (at least not by any fault of Mercury).

A wild vortex of energies today and tomorrow as the Sun trines Eris and Ixion, whilst preparing to conjunct the North Node. We also have the Venus-Jupiter-Pluto Cardinal T-Square at play, the Near-Perfect Grand Sextile / Star of David, the multiple Retrogrades – and of course the intensity of the approaching Solar Eclipse.

There is just so much going on, but it still helps to have a focus on some of the changes that open different types of energetic gateways, challenges and opportunities.

There´s a profound swirling current in the cosmos at this time and it makes feeling grounded and centered a lot more difficult. We are asked to find that sense of inner calm at the heart of the storm whilst all whirls about-and-through us. It may seem like a paradox on the surface, but spirituality tends to ask us to find that middle-space.

The Sun is completing a month in its own sign with a new moon and eclipse at almost 29 degrees Leo. We also have a number of planets retrograde, including Uranus in Aries which is also trine to this Sun/Moon conjunction. How will this affect you?

The primary aspect here is a Sun/Moon conjunction in Leo. As the traditional ruler of the fifth house, Leo is the sign of fun, happiness, pleasure, the father figure, and our origins. Do not have misgivings about wanting attention. Given a new moon is the start of a mini-cycle, set your mind to happiness. Try this affirmation (and remember affirmations work by repetition):  “I deserve and accept happiness and pleasure in my life”.

Two things playing on this new moon are the very precise trine aspect to Uranus, and the eclipse caused by the moon sitting between the Sun and Mother Earth.

On August 21st we will experience a total solar eclipse. To quote my dear friend and mentor, Diane Ronngren, an eclipse is a time to find new ways to express who you are by recognizing and overcoming emotional blocks.

Basically this is an opportunity to leap forward on the road to your goals. Eclipses bring change. Sometimes these changes are very real in our lives. Eclipses travel through the same signs about every 18-19 years. During this period the changes in my life have been considerable. I built a business and sold it. I met a man, fell in love, married and then lost him to leukemia. I moved back to my beloved California to rejoin old friends and meet new, wonderful people. I wrote many ybooks and built a thriving consultation business.

A TOTAL ECLIPSE OF THE HEART

I don’t know about you, but it feels as though I’ve been bombarded with news about this eclipse season.  This is partly due to the fact that the Total Solar Eclipse will fall at the exact degree of  Mr Trump’s Ascendant (who was born on an eclipse). It will  also be visible across North America, which is probably why there’s so much hype from across the pond!

I’m going to try and simplify the whole thing:

• On 7^th August , we had a lunar eclipse in Aquarius  and on  21^st August there will be a total solar eclipse in Leo.
• At a Solar Eclipse, the Moon is positioned in between the Earth and the Sun, almost but not entirely blocking out it’s light, so as to create a corona or a ring of fire
• Eclipse seasons happen twice…
