2015-07-18 Mercury Square Uranus

Mercury (Cancer) squares Uranus (Aries) on a day when the Moon first conjoins Jupiter in Leo (with the Moon in mutual reception with the Cancerian Sun) and then both Moon and Venus change signs before the Moon conjoins Venus.  This starts as a mostly “feel good” day but ends with a brainstorm.  Watch out for arguments this evening.  The time is better spent writing down what might be some rather amazing ideas that come to you or, better yet, doing major work on the novel or short story you have been working on for sometime.  (You might yet finish it!)

Here is the chart, filtered for squares:

Feeling out of sorts?  Drink too much last night?  Feeling like writing poetry for some unexplained reason?  Could be the effects of Mercury Square Neptune on May 9th.  This aspect colors the period from May 8th to May 10th (Mothers Day), and arguably might have a bit wider influence given the upcoming Mercury Retrograde (May 18th).

Here is the chart:

We live in complex and troubling times.  While that might could be said of any period of time (“It was the best of times, it was the worst of times, it was the age of wisdom, it was the age of foolishness”), we see a number of patterns activated during this full moon and are reminded of the disasters of 2010 (a series culminating in the Deepwater Horizon).

A number of astrologers have mentioned the ongoing series of Uranus / Pluto squares covering several years.  We do not need to cover that again here, but we do need to note the important of the context that aspect provides in the following discussion.  If everything was driven by loving trines, then maybe it would not matter.  But, that’s not true.  We have squares in general, and grand crosses and t-squares in particular.  And we have Thor’s Hammer (aka God’s Fist) patterns.  A rosetta and mystic rectangle tell us that we are (still) polarizing.  (Duh, you easily read that in the news.  But the astrology is consistent.)  A large number of 5th order harmonics tells us we can find creative solutions.  A large number of 7th order harmonics tells us that we are dealing with karma that insists that we find those solutions.

Step by step, here are the variants of the Full Moon Chart for December 6th of 2014.

1.  Grand Cross and T-Square

Full Moon 2014-12 December Squares

If we allow ourselves to count the node, we have a long term grand cross that has been in play for some time and will continue.  This grand cross is an extended vision of the famous Uranus / Pluto squares discussed elsewhere.  It brings in the fate and karma of the North Node along with the issues of health, healthcare, and healing from the asteroid Hygeia.  Though the node is technically not a “planet” (or asteroid or other body), we suspect that this method of approaching the current variant of the Uranus / Pluto square yields the most insight.  We cannot ignore issues and disparities in our healthcare systems any longer.

The Full Moon combination of Sun/Moon has Chiron (the “wounded healer”) square to it.  This is another signal that issues in health and healthcare must be dealt with, and Chiron blends in issues of education (particularly healthcare education, such as the training of healthcare professionals).  Expect to see changes in healthcare education, starting in 2015 and beyond.

2.  Grand Trines

We see a series of variants of a particular grand trine (Fire: Aries / Leo / Sagittarius) in this chart.  Grand trines are usually stabilizing influences, but this is a FIRE grand trine.  When tied in with the other aspects, what we see is that it likely provides an insistence on change and on the need for leadership in facilitating the needed change(s).

Full Moon 2014-12 December Trines (Beginners)

No matter which side you take on these current issues, you know that strong leadership is needed at this time.  Few people can honestly believe that we can move forward from where we are without certain major changes in our system happening.

3.  Kites

Kites sometimes occur with grand trines, and the signify opportunities.  One of the strongest here involves the node (opportunity, but HARD WORK needed to manifest that opportunity), and the other integrates the full moon itself (and this means it is particularly tied to the days of December 5/6/7).  Somebody will make some serious money from this, perhaps a HUGE windfall.

Full Moon 2014-12 December Kites (Beginners)

Since Jupiter / Uranus are involved in this second kite, this will be a time where we might see some huge “lotto” (figuratively if not literally) windfalls.  Somebody will win big.

We would also argue that this interlaced pattern of kites constitutes the emergence of a new pattern, perhaps it could be called something like a “twin kite key.”  (It looks a bit like a house, so it could be the “house that kites built.”  But “twin kite key” is more succinct.)

4. Rosettas and Mystic Rectangle

We see two rosettas (highly polarizing in their influence) and a mystic rectangle (an odd mix of conflict in some areas but stability in others) in play in this full moon:

a. Rosettas

Full Moon 2014-12 December Rosettas (Beginners)

We note that both of these involve the North Node (“fate” and hard work).

b. Mystic Rectangle

Full Moon 2014-12 December Mystic Rectangle (Beginners)

The North Node is also involved here as well as the current full moon and Uranus.  This combination likely indicates a fleeting but powerful opportunity; the window will close soon.

5.  Square Key

Full Moon 2014-12 December Square Key (Beginners)

Yet another pattern telling us of work to be done.  Additionally, this pattern indicates that we may be dissatisfied with the results not being quite what we had hoped for.  Sun / Uranus / Hygeia / Chiron in this pattern ties together the health and healing issues again.

6.  5th Order Harmonics

We see a number of 5th order aspects (quintiles and bi-quintiles) in this chart, telling us that creative solutions are available if we are open to receive them.

Full Moon 2014-12 December 5th Harmonic (Beginners)

7.  7th Order Harmonics

We also see a number of 7th order harmonics.  This tells us that we had better avail ourselves of the available creative solutions (and do the work necessary to make them happen) or “else.”

Groundhog Day 2013: Square Key

Groundhog Day of 2013 is marked by the appearance of a Square Key:

Square Key of Feb 2, 2013 1-25-2013 10-19-04 PM

What does this mean?  The combination of squares and inconjuncts will leave people with a feeling that they “need to act.”  The squares will not let people sit still, but the inconjuncts (quincunxes) will leave people with a sense of dissatisfaction regarding whatever they do, or do not, accomplish.

Noteworthy, also, is the Thor’s Hammer (aka “God’s Fist”) that precedes this formation on February 1st.  Moon is at apex of the Thors Hammer while Jupiter and Chiron are on each leg.

Thors Hammer Feb 1 2013 1-26-2013 5-50-59 AM

The Thor’s Hammer may produce rash action (if not an explosion).  The Square Key will color the reactions which will likely be ineffective or misguided.

New Moon, September 2012

Without doing a detailed analysis, I can tell you that the New Moon tonight makes this a good day to clean out the old and make room for the new.  A few of you may get some amazing bargains as stores unload excess inventory left over from summer to make way for Christmas.

Cainer talks about the Uranus / Pluto square becoming exact next week.  This means, so to speak, that revolution is in the air.  Here is a snippet of what Mr. Cainer has to say:

This week’s powerful alignment of Uranus and Pluto becomes the second in a series of seven celestial right angles that ring out like a giant heavenly bell between 2012-2015. This is our cosmic wake-up call; our reminder to stop dreamily believing that all is fine and start fighting for all that we need to protect and promote.

The regime changes in the Middle East are no surprise, but shifts from theocracy or totalitarian states might be a possibility.  A mere regime change from the old dictatorship to the new dictatorship is not much of a change, and, if that is all the Universe has to offer, then that is a disappointment.  Let’s hope that something more profound occurs, and we see democracy take root in a profound way in that region.

After the Moon enters Libra, not so long after the New Moon tonight, it will create a T-Square with Pluto/Uranus on Sunday.  This will be particularly volatile, and do not be surprised to see some shake-ups, maybe even “things going boom,” circa Monday / Tuesday / Wednesday.  A similar window happens a week later (Moon conjunct Pluto, power struggles and assassinations), the week after that (Moon conjunct Uranus, revolutions and explosions), and maybe even the week after that (another T-Square with Moon at home in Cancer).  All this with the entry of Saturn into Scorpio at hand, and a Mars/Jupiter inconjunct on the day of the T-Square.  (Daily Planetary guide says October 5th for the entry of Saturn into Scorpio, though I have seen a different source that says October 6th.)  We are living in “interesting times.”

Mars/Jupiter anything is explosive (without any Uranian involvement), and the inconjunct is always the aspect of false hopes, miscommunications, and a failure of meeting of minds.  You think you know, but in reality you do not have a clue.

Pluto, part of the T-Square, is essentially stationary and makes a direct station late Monday / early Tuesday (depending on where you live).  Overdue conflicts submerged for some time now come to the surface.  Mercury inconjuncts Neptune on Monday and Chiron on Thursday.  These are Libra / Pisces inconjuncts, also called quincunxes.  More on this in a moment.

Arguably, Thursday might have the “activating events” that really set things into motion, particular since Mercury activates the T-Square IN ADDITION to the inconjunct with Chiron on Thursday.  This is a volatile pattern occurring shortly before the change of seasons, with the Autumnal Equinox on Saturday.  That is immediately followed by a Sun/Neptune Inconjunct in Libra / Pisces.  This particular type inconjunct, Libra / Pisces, is probably more associated with confusion than any other possible pattern.  It could be also associated with unanticipated revelations since Pisces reveals and Libra balances.

For many people, this will be an uncomfortable period, with miscommunications leading to sometimes disastrous revelations or disclosures of otherwise private information.  This could also be a bad time to be a “bad guy,” since they will at least be identified (by justice, often symbolized by Libra) even if they are able to slip away (Pisces, the slippery fish).  If you think you can attack from a hidden position and get away with it, think again.  Quite a few people will be brought to justice during this period.

Mercury retrogrades November 6th, so you should adjust your plans accordingly.  Sign it soon, or in the next few weeks (by mid-October), or postpone it until December.  (Other than the fact that a large number of people are saying that we are facing the “End of the World as We Know It” in December, December might work.)

For those of you waiting for charts, no promises as to when they might be done.  This blog is a volunteer activity done for fun on weekends for most of the year, so Christmas might get here first.  I like to take my time on a chart and ponder what looks “interesting” to me rather than belt them out like a factory.  So, I can only promise that, as long as I am alive, of sound mind, and able bodied next May and June, that I should have the charts that are in the queue now (September 15th of 2012) done by the end of June, 2013.  (That date assumes, of course, we do not encounter The End Of The World between now and then.)  Til then, just a few here and there, maybe 1 or 2 per weekend.  The easy way to keep up is to sign up for the email subscription, and you will be notified when I make a new post.  Or, if you are worried about spam, then setup an RSS feed.  Or, just check back about once a week.

If you need an urgent consultation, then hire a full time astrologer to do it for you.

April 2010: Venus Square Mars and Mercury Square Mars

Not too long before the upcoming Mercury Retrograde, and this weekend, Venus will Square Mars and Mercury will Square Mars. Each will bring a culmination of events launch earlier, many starting on the recent Equinox and/or Full Moon.  However, this is not the end of story.  Mercury retrograde will force us to revisit, step by step, what happened.  Mercury retrograde is about mistakes, errors, and omissions.  But, sometimes, Mercury retrograde is about uncovering mistakes, errors, and omissions.  You can bet that the upcoming retrograde will have interesting revelations.

This weekend shows, among other things, that Saturday is great for romance, of the hottest kind.  But, reality will kick in Sunday, and for some terrible fights will be had.  Try to find a constructive way to spin off all that anger on Sunday.  Here are the charts:

Tuesday into Wednesday and Then Thursday

If it is still Tuesday in your part of the world, you are still feeling the power of the Gemini Moon squares. Actually, the Moon is part of a “T” today: it squres both Saturn and Uranus who are opposite of each other. Gemini is duality incarnate, so this Moon tries to embrace both keeping a structure the same AND revolutionizing that structure. The contradiction leaves almost all of us uncomfortable. And, that energy guides the remainder of the forecast, below.

March 31, 2009 Horary Chart for Predictions of March 31, April 1 & 2

Tuesday: T-Square Dominates

The T-Square most profoundly effects the mutables: Gemini, Virgo, Sadge, & Pisces. I think Sadge will be hit hardest in the melee’ because that is where the “hole” is. Each T-Square produces a “hole,” which is the point where a planet WOULD be if the T-Square were completed into a Grand Cross. Today will be active for Sadge. And, good or bad, you’ll be ready to get home and hide from the world. Enough is enough.

Cardinals (Aries, Cancer, Libra, & Capricorn) have a sense that “something is about to happen” but that cannot happen for you yet. Wednesday may bring what you anticipate, whether you hope for it, fear it, or both. Sit tight till then.

Fixed signs (Taurus, Leo, Scorpio, & Aquarius) are frustrated here. Much is going on, and as a group they are trying to take advantage of it, but not enough hours in the day to get it all done. Realize that you must let something go. If you are a fixed sign and an artist, this time favors you and you may turn out some of your best work. This is part of a series of similar periods, but you must harness it while it lasts. Also: this applies to Libra Artists and Writers as well.

April 1, 2009 Moon into Cancer

Wednesday: Long Void Morning then Moon into Cancer

April Fool’s Day this year will live up (or down) to its name this morning. Moon is void (unpredictable) in the trickster sign of Gemini. Just realize that if you think you are the trickster, you may find that the Universe has the last laugh on this one. Void Moons are best known for “nothing will come of this,” and you should hope so. Otherwise, the Void trickster Moon will wreak havoc with you.

Moon into Cancer changes everything, and the Cardinals (Aries, Cancer, Libra, and Capricorn) Libra encounters glitches but also possibly a brilliant idea if an artist or writer. Cancer breathes a sigh of relief that is short-lived; the pace picks up again. Aries realizes that the time to get things done is about to pass. Capricorn feels like Cancer and secretly wishes it were last year when Jupiter was there.

Fixed sign Leo takes a break or better take a break. Not time for Leo to push. But Taurus feels strong and can push ahead; Scorpio will feel some of this as well. Aquarius feels a sense of frustration as they realize that an important for in the road approaches.

Mutables can rest, at least for a brief moment, if they wish.

Thursday: Inconjencts and Yods

In fact, Cancer, Virgo, and Aquarius all feel this “fork in the road.” Far more than other signs, the dissatisfaction of the Yods of this day hit them. Gemini and Capricorn are hit as well; all five signs feel that something MUST be done. And, whatever the decision and the result, dissatisfaction will result and a question will linger about what the other path “would have been.”

Technically all signs are affected, but the other seven signs function more as spectators on this disconcerting day. (Expect technical difficulties, particularly with computers and electronics.)

March 29, 2009: Pluto Dominates

dallas-sunrise-2009-mar-29-9th-pluto1Please do not get your hopes up that I will post any more than once or twice a week (at most).  But, the mood hit me, and I thought I would do Sunrise on Sunday here in Dallas. (aka “The DFW Metroplex,” or just “The Metroplex”)

I pick the Metroplex for no other reason than “that is where I am located.”  Generally, Sunday is characterized by squares.  We know this already (if you read the Daily Planetary Guide), but this chart highlights power struggles and issues between the Moon in the 2nd House (money, finances, sometimes health) and Pluto dominant in the 9th House (Long distance travel, foreign relations, court battles, and higher education).  Here are some of the dramas I expect to be “heightened” today.

Custody battles have a way of erupting on Sunday evenings.  This one will be particularly delicate.  Seek diplomacy if possible.  Otherwise, be prepared to pay the lawyers again.

College students (higher education) may have to face their inquisitive parents about their grades and “how they are doing” this semester.  Spring break is over for most (if not all), and the time is at hand to pass or fail (or whatever the goal may be).

On the political scene, this weekend is a bit fragile in general.  This chart confirms that.

The Moon squares Jupiter, Chiron, and Neptune.  Moon Square Jupiter is one of the two “spendthrift” aspects (the other being Sun Square Jupiter).  Overspending and overeating are notorious here.  Chiron signals the involvement of a mentor relationship (not usually parental but possibly) and Moon Square Neptune is all about deceit in many cases.  Do not be surprised if you lie or are lied to.  Armed with this knowledge, you can decide how you wish to handle the deceit.

This forecase also applies to Thursday afternoon (the day before).

Mercury Square Uranus leads to ideas, creativity, and communication.  If a longer trip is taken, watch for accidents.  A series of squares follow, followed by a conjunction of the Sun and Mars.  The result is energy that must be burned somehow; physical and atheletic pursuits are likely a good approach.

Of course, watch again for accidents.  And, in team sports, tempers may flare and sportsmanship may be poor.  Solo activities are favored.

With your energy properly forcused, and temper in check, you can achieve much today.
