Thursday March 3rd 2016 (and a few days prior)

Moon moves into Capricorn at 4:01 AM CST, and a remarkably busy day begins.  Those of you at work or in traffic at 6:03 AM CST (within an hour of that time) have a good chance of experiencing a glitch of some kind; this might carry through for the remainder of the day.  But this day contains opportunities to learn and develop an important set of skills, and an opportunity to make amends for past wrongs may exist.  Mercury novile Pluto brings one important set of lessons, and Venus binovile Mars brings another.

We think today could be an important turning point for some people (especially, but not limited to, Aries, Cancer, Libra, and Capricorn).

Moon in Capricorn puts on the brakes, and we hope you fully accomplished your objective, or at least made a milestone, yesterday.  Moon in Capricorn in the early morning hours (Western Hemisphere) brings a “two steps forward and one step backward” kind of energy to the day.  Venus (Aquarius) forms a quincunx (false hopes and miscommunications to Jupiter (Virgo).

We tend to mis-step or overlook important points, and we can make a bad decision about finances or taxes today.  Probably NOT the day to consult with a physician or accountant, but, if you do, you might hear something you do not want to hear.  Details are important, so pay attention, and please do realize that your traditions and habits (Vesta) may not serve you as well today as you might hope.  But Vesta does form a BiQuintile with the North Node (a point that means “karma”); you may have an important insight in how to work through old karma.  And, again, this is a chance to learn important lessons and skills.

Previous days this week:

March 2016 (Mars Out)

Week 10 (W10)

Tuesday March 1st

We have a day of lunar squares.  Focus your annoyance into solving problems if you can.  Venus forms a semi-sextile to Pluto, and we find that we either have (mild) power struggles with our romantic partner or we have some insight into matters involing finance, taxes, or police / intelligence agencies.  Ceres (prosperity) forms a Quadrinovile to Astraea (law and legal systems), and we as individuals MIGHT have an opportunity to triumph over the oppresion of a government agency today.

Wednesday March 2nd

This is a busy day in terms of lunar aspects, and they tend to favor fire and air signs.  Everyone will be busy, and for some of you (especially fire (Aries, Leo, Sagittarius) and air (Libra, Aquarius, Gemini)) will be especially busy.

Venus (Aquarius) sextiles Uranus (Aries), and some people engage in kinky sex or at least “unusual” romantic relationships.  (If you have been contemplating such a thing, this is your day to “make it happen.”)  This is tainted a bit as Juno (trust and loyalty) stations retrograde today. <click here to read more>

February 1st 2016 (W06)

A glance at the Mystic Rectangles monthy “Mars Out” forecast shows several septile (triseptile) aspects of outer planets.  These aspects are subtle, but they mark this as a day of karma in which we best help ourselves by anonymously helping someone less fortunate than ourselves without expecting anything in return.

Pluto / Vesta are square, and we find a conflict between “doing things the way we have always done them” and the true sources of power present in power structures such as the police and intelligence agencies.  For some people, this is a time of very kinky sex (if you are into that kind of thing).  For anyone who is a “sex worker”: please be extra careful at this time.

Please keep in mind that we are still processing, and clearing out, the energy of the T-Square perfections of the past weekend (Friday / Sunday).

Some of what we said Sunday bears repeating here:

For some people, this is the kind of Sunday where, on Monday, you pretend to leave for work but go somewhere entirely different and hide for a day or week or year. (Maybe you “go out for cigarettes and never come back,” as was popular in the 1950’s and 1960’s.) Do keep in mind that “this too shall pass,” and “things” will become different. (Not “better” or “worse” but “different.”) But, again, this will be a critically important turning point for some people who choose to move into new circumstances.

While we are technically still in the “retrograde shadow,” in many ways moving past this final aspect of the sequence ends this particular sequence of dramas and opens the door for us to (finally!) move in new directions. But, in January of 2017 (when Mercury conunct Pluto perfects again), we may want to revisit our thoughts, notes, and decisions at this time.

Mars (in Scorpio) is septile the North Node, and this harkens to those willing to do the work to transform their lives, starting today.  I am especially speaking to anyone in a criminal occupation or group who is considering doing something like “Witness Relocation.”  Do it today, and never look back.  It will not be easy, but one day you will be grateful to yourself that you did.

For the rest of us, consider what big leap you need to make today or at the time of the New Moon (a week from today).  That NM has a Double Yod Key (DYK), and everyone will face a GROUP of important decisions at that time.  (For more about 2016 New Moons, click here.)

We cannot say it better about today and the rest of this week:  “Waning SCORPIO MOON today and tomorrow is excellent for purging and clearing anyway…”  (Source: Melanies Astro News; see, also: Melanies Astro News)

Finally, we note that the upcoming Aquarius New Moon on February 8th marks the beginning of the Chinese New Year and the beginning of the related festivities. (See, also: this article from the Telegraph.)

Friday January 29th 2016

Friday a Hard Rectangle perfects.  These tend to be rare, but quite a few of them perfect in 2016.   This is a strange day in which you either come to a complete halt or accomplish more than you can ordinarily hope for.  Middle ground does not tend to exist in any matter; extremism will tend to dominate.  Tempers can flare, so direct your focus appropriately.

In Europe and the UK, as well as those in Eastern Standard Time, Mercury conjunct Pluto perfects on Saturday, shortly after midnight for those in EST.  For points west, including CST, MST, and PST, the perfection of this aspect occurs Friday evening.  In any case, this amplifies the effects of both the Thor’s Hammer and the Hard Rectangle. Please note that this aspect corresponds to its mirror image that occurred January 22nd and the same or similar issues from that date will likely arise again. This aspect is ALSO part of a T-Square, with the second part (Mercury Square Uranus) perfecting on Sunday.  Expect an “exciting” weekend.

We will not “feel” Mercury conjunct Pluto again until December 8th, and it does not perfect again until January 22, 2017.  If you keep notes and do advanced planning, you might want to note on your calendar to review your notes from December 2015 / January 2016 (and this weekend in particular) when those dates arrive.  We note that we are currently still early in the Presidential primaries now, but we will be facing the inauguration of the new President (whoever that is) at that time.

Mars septile Jupiter gives this day an odd “karmic” kind of feel and, sadly, that may involve people “blowing things out of proportion.”  (Mars / Jupiter is a huge, and sometimes dangerous, amplifier of whatever is current.  In this case, that is (1) Mercury conjunct Pluto; (2) a month long Thor’s Hammer; and (3) a Hard Rectangle.  EACH of those can bring  violence, and all three together are quite scary.)

(We expect January to go out with a “bang.”)

chakras yogiSince Mercury is at its slowest now during the stationary phase, it has languished at the same degree or two of the zodiac for the entire last week of January. And that very position happens to be precisely conjunct Pluto. So although I have mentioned the Mercury – Pluto conjunction this past week in a previous article, I want to elaborate still further on this unusually extended alliance and alignment between the closest and furthest planets from the Sun. We are talking about the fastest and the slowest planets in the zodiac coincidentally spending an entire week at such an exact alignment, the likes of which is seldom seen in the history of their liaisons. Mercury, ambassador of the rational mind, and Pluto, ambassador of the Underworld and all its hidden contents, are locked in step having serious negotiations, where the symbolic result on our psyches this week is sure…

Mercury Conjunct Pluto 2015-01-29 (Thor’s Hammer)

We can add little to describe the third in this series except to say that it brackets what has been a tough window for some people (form Jan 22 to Jan 29).  The previous perfections were on December 19, 2015 and January 22, 2016.  The good news is that this should clear out in a few days, and February should bring some relief.

Friday is complex.  Mercury conjoins Pluto (another revisiting similar to Wednesday, the retrograde Mercury repeating the December aspect).  Not only does that resurrect important issues that presented themselves just before Christmas in 2015, but we revisit it AGAIN in a few days on January 29th.  Chances are good that the issues involve, on one hand, communications or transportation (and revisiting some things left undone) and, on the other hand, finances, taxes, “other people’s money,” police, intelligence agencies, drugs, poisons, or locations underground (such as caves and sewers).  You can bet that the issues in Flint, Michigan are not yet resovled and will WORSEN.

By itself, the Mercury/Pluto aspect would be enough to keep you very busy (if not make you very angry), but then the Moon (with the Grand Water Trine from yesterday starting to dissolve) opposes both Mercury and Pluto followed by a square to Uranus creating a T-Square.  You will feel at least an urge, if not a panic, to “get things done.”

Keep in mind the month long Thor’s Hammer is still in play, so mind your temper and watch for dangerous people, places, and things.

Tomorrow we have the Aquarian Full Moon of 2016 (Moon in Leo and Sun in Aquarius).  Leo and Aquarius will feel this.  So will Aries and Sagittarius (trine to Leo) and Gemini and Libra (trine to Aquarius).  (For these signs, this FM should be mostly benevolent.)  And Taurus and Scorpio (square to both Leo and Aquarius) will also feel it.  (For Taurus and Scorpio, a call to action and possible anger or rash responses.)

Mercury Conjunct Pluto 2015-01-22 (Thor’s Hammer)

It’s back.  (Maybe we should say, “It’s baaaack.”)  Remember the Mercury / Pluto conjunction of December 19th 2015?  (If not, click here.)  We hope you made notes of the events in your life and the events of the day, as we recommended.  This is your chance to ferret out how such aspects apply to YOUR life.

That said, we present the chart for today’s Mercury Conjunct Pluto (with Thor’s Hammer) noting that the square is a bit tighter.  And, we will see this aspect perfect again on January 29th.  You will feel the influence of this aspect throughout the window of time from January 22nd to January 29th (and probably a few days on each side, before and after).

Keep notes, again.  This is a recurring aspect that comes back in different forms, affecting different areas of life.

Forecast for Tuesday, January 5, 2016

Tuesday is EXTREMELY busy, and any one of three situations COULD dominate the day.  Do not be surprised if problems and issues come in “threes” today.

Most people (astrologers) consider any one of these to be “bad,” or “difficult,” or “a ‘growth experience.’”  (Take your pick, depending on your worldview.  But, all are different descriptions of the same underlying events.)  Mercury / Mars “just happened” in late December, and, effectively, we have never left it.  M/M is one of the more dangerous aspects, and coupled with the “overdue issues that need to be revisited” aspect of Mercury Retrograde it may be extra dangerous today.  Be careful today, and consider staying home.

That said, SOME people CAN harness all this juice.  Just know that you will need to be looking at old projects that may be coming ripe for a resurrection, and that you will need to “cross every ‘t’ and dot every ‘i.’”  If someone gets too aggressive or pushy about a “deal,” then back out of it and put it (and them) on ice for review on another day.  A New Moon is only a few days away anyway, and if you are a regular reader of this blog then you know that we recommend the period before a NM for clearing away clutter and cleaning to prepare for some kind of launch AFTER the NM.  And you might have to wait much later, maybe until some time AFTER the Direct Station on January 25th.

[edit]  Actually, an important fourth consideration is in play also: Venus Squares Neptune.  It is the aspect of the passionate but short-lived romance.  It is the stuff of great movies about love lost and heartbreak and the question of “whether or not it is better to have loved at all.”  It also is the aspect of ripoffs and scammers and “things that sound too good to be true.”  If you encounter that today, then know that it is too good to be true.  That is almost a certainty on this date.  And, if you combine it with the other aspects (such as Mercury Square Mars), things could turn very “ugly” (meaning violent or even deadly).  This aspect, normally “mostly harmless,” makes this particular day extraordinarily deadly for some people.

Since some people may have trouble visualizing the kind of dangerous situation we are describing, we offer this video of a classic song as a metaphor to clarify the uncertain:

Sun Conjunct Pluto 2016-01-05 (Thor’s Hammer)

This is an annual transit, likely to continue in Capricorn for a few more years, and in this case has a Thor’s Hammer as the dominant pattern.  Watch out for dangerous people, places, and things during day’s with Thor’s Hammer patterns.  This is a slightly slower moving pattern (than, say, the Moon), so the day before and day after may be risky, also.  We would not be surprised to see a strong movement in the financial markets somewhere in the three day window (day before, of, and after, the perfection of the aspect).

Here is the chart of perfection of Sun conjunct Pluto this year, filtered for the Thor’s Hammer:

The Sun / Pluto opposition (companion to this chart) perfects on July 7th of this year.  And, this year, this aspect perfects the day after Mercury Retrograde station.  Problems overdue for “attention” are likely to show themselves at this time.

Venus Sextile Pluto 2015-12-16 (Thor’s Hammer)

Venus Sextile Pluto 2015-12-16 (Thor’s Hammer)

Venus Sextile Pluto can add an air of mystery to the day.  In this case, Venus is in Scorpio, and Pluto is in Capricorn.  This is particularly intense with regard to sex and romance.  If that is not an option, then this will be a good day to address taxes, finances, and similar matters.  Addressing issues related to wills and inheritances, and other matters of “other people’s money,” is top of the list today.

A longer term Thor’s Hammer continues to be in play, and we show the chart in “Beginner’s Page” form, filtered for this longer term Thor’s Hammer:

This aspect typically occurs twice a year (but can occur more often if retrogrades are involves).  We present, next, a list of the occurrences for 2015 and 2016:
