La Luna enters Leo today at 10:21am PST, and she is exact in her fullness at 5:46pm.  Moon in Leo is courageous, innocent, brave and flashy.  The beauty is in tapping into our loveliness.  The challenge is in seeing our loveliness reflected all around us.  We are bright and so are they!  We are not brighter, and they are not brighter.  In truth, we are each far brighter than our own ability to comprehend.  The influence of a Moon transit is a mood and it passes quickly (2 days), but when the full Moon (emotional self) dances with the Lion (expressive, emotive, courageous self) there is something RIGHTEOUS about how we feel, something we can trust.

Can we allow the innocence of the Lion to further our creative expression?  Like a baby making all kinds of faces and jerky movements, can we simply be as we ARE, without apology or…

Full Moon in Leo
by ~Ruby

Saturday evening around 7:45pm CST this month’s Full Moon comes together in loving, dramatic Leo. I use lot of interesting words in my blogs to describe each sign and planet, to help you understand that each sign and planet have their very own unique traits, and how their energy is influencing all of us. So with that being said, we can be more dramatic now, but also very loving and passionate with the Moon in Leo. Full Moons usually bring up issues around relationships, but not just with our lovers, but also with our friends, families, co-workers and ourselves…especially this Full Moon, because it’s in Leo, which is represented by the Sun, which is about the “Self”, so this Full Moon wants us to learn more about the relationship we have with ourselves and how to accept who you are.

Sanctuary of Horus Behdety

The Full Moon on Saturday 23 January 2016 is at 3 degrees Leo, in Leo decan 1. The full moon astrology carries on the abusive theme found in the previous new moon. Both moon phases plus Mercury retrograde and Mercury direct, all activate the chaotic Uranus Pluto square. The major theme of all this January 2016 astrology, and […]

In the early hours of Sunday morning, we have a glorious full moon in Leo and thank goodness for that. The reason I say that, is that things have been a little on the heavy side since the start to the new year and this full moon could help to lighten things up a bit…. If we allow her to.

When we have a full moon in fiery Leo, it means that the moon is opposite the sun, which has just moved into the airy sign of Aquarius. It’s shines the light on and brings into focus, whatever we started two weeks ago, when we had a new moon in Capricorn. That was all about kick starting our year, setting and committing to our goals, as we started the ascent up the mountain of 2016.

Now  I don’t know about you, but it’s been quite a whopper of a start…

Full Moon 2016-01-23 Mercury Retrograde + Thor’s Hammer

This Leo Moon / Aquarius Sun Full moon occurs with Mercury Retrograde (in Capricorn) two days before the Direct Station.  You will likely feel that, as mislaid items and forgotten issues assert themselves again in some fashion.  A month long Thor’s Hammer is still in effect for slightly more than another week.  Needless to say, it colors this FM with an emphasis on issues of justice (Astraea) at the apex.

This is the first full moon of 2016.

Here is the full moon chart, filtered for the Thor’s Hammer pattern:

This FM perfects on Saturday night in much of the Western Hemisphere and early morning hours in UK/EU.  Expect a wild weekend, and be careful.  As we always say, as long as you avoid dangerous people, places, and things, you can “get things done” with this.  But, with Mercury Retrograde, the smartest use might be preparation to move things forward next week after Monday’s Direct Station.

A Full Moon for Walt Whitman

‘I celebrate myself, and sing myself,

And what I assume you shall assume,

For every atom belonging to me as good belongs to you.’ Walt Whitman

Cooper's hawk copySaturday the full Moon in Leo will offer us another pair of contradictory impulses, we each struggle to integrate.   The Moon in Leo urges us to develop our powers of self expression, to gird our self in courage, and to sing a song of our own creation. Pride and warm feelings for others mingle in the heart of the Moon as she rises skyward to shine on us all. A Leo Moon is all fire and theater, and we may feel a drive to sing in the moonlight!

The Aquarian Sun sees this preciousRed-tailed hawk moment from another point of view.   Creative energy finds an outlet in creating a better society for all of humanity. Aquarian energy is often…

2015-12-27 Moon Opposite Midpoint of Sun / Neptune (Yod)

2015-12-27 Moon Opposite Midpoint of Sun / Neptune (Yod)

We do not ordinarily analyze aspects / patterns such as this one.  They are too frequent, and as a lone astrologer we do not have the resources or capacity to analyze every one that comes along.  This one is different for several reasons.  First of all, it represents a logical consequence to the events of the Friday Christmas Full Moon on 2015.  Whatever happened then, and then the aftermath of Saturday, we have come to the two decisions of Sunday (Moon in Leo in a Yod with Sun in Capricorn and Neptune in Pisces) and Monday (Moon in Leo in a Yod with Venus in Capricorn and Chiron in Pisces).  The decisions are similar and may, or may not, overlap in subject matter.

Let us back up a step and note that this decision (yod) occurs in the context of a Grand Fire Trine that covers Sunday, Monday, and, arguably, Tuesday.  Moon (self, females in general, families and family leaders (e.g. mothers), and fluids ranging from bodily fluids to oceans) is in Leo (focused leadership, actors in dramas, and sometimes a bit of arrogance).  Vesta (tradition and “doing things the way we have always done them”) is in Aries (primal leadership that is sometimes violent).  Saturn (test, trials, tribulations, fathers in particular and financial leadership in general) is in Sagittarius (legal system, universities, churches & religious leaders, and foreigh or long distance travel).  The Moon (in Leo) person must make a decision, and they are supported by someone who is likely either military or a police officer (and who is dialed into “doing things the way we have always done them”) and someone similar to a lawyer or religious leader who is attuned to practical realities in general and financial realities in particular.

The decision is between Sun  (in Capricorn, strongly influence by Saturn in Sagittarius) and Neptune in Pisces (a particularly powerful poet, priest, criminal, or martyr; this could also be a person suffering from an illness).  The Capricorn “leg” (or option) is one of safety that risks little danger but also is unsatisfying in that the possibility for something truly brilliant is lost.  The Pisces “leg” has potential for beauty, poetry, art, or freedom from confinement (maybe), but it is risky and can be very messy.  The decision maker has to pick from one of these, foregoing the other, and is left with some degree of dissatisfaction (“what if” I had gone the other way).  Although the Capricorn leg is a bit more aligned with the planets of the Grand Fire Trine, neither leg particularly likes or trusts them.  (And, they shouldn’t)

None of this decision making, on Sunday or Monday, will come without challenges.  Both days will have decisions (and likely actions) that lead to the conflict of Tuesday December 29th (Mercury Square Mars).

The decision period, as we have ascertained it using one degree orbs for Moon opposing midpoint of Sun / Neptune, begins 2:47 PM CST (3:47 PM EST / 12:47 PM PST / 8:47 PM UTC).  The window ends 6:38 PM CST (7:38 PM EST / 4:38 PM PST, after midnight (next day): 12:38 AM UTC for UK/EU).  Some “wiggle room” is available, but a failure to decide is, itself, a decision.

Here is the chart for entry into the period, filtered for the yod:
