2016-05-07 Sun Trine Pluto (Kites + Hele)

This repeats in two versions, each once a year. The other one will be in September, and both will repeat in May and September for the next few years. Sun Trine Pluto is also about power and power struggles, but the trines tend to be more benevolent than the squares in April and October.  Still, take a look back at April 7th.

Full Moon 2016-04-22 (Hard Rectangle)

For anyone who wants to check either upcoming or previous full moons or new moons, we offer pages that cover both categories of lunations for 2016. Here is a list of New Moons for 2016, and here is a list of Full Moons for 2016.

We note five patterns associated with this FM: Hard Rectangle, Thor’s Hammer, Hele, Kite(s), and T-Square(s).

We have been omitting T-Squares because they are still quite common when anything aspects the now dissolving Uranus / Pluto square (discussed extensively both elsewhere and on this site).  However, we now have continuing T-Squares involving Jupiter (Virgo), Saturn (Sagittarius), and Neptune (Pisces), and since this set involves other bodies and points (Nodes, Chiron, Hygeia, and Mars) we believe it is worth addressing this set of T-Squares as well.

This is a very “early” Moon-Scorpio/Sun-Taurus FM, and it is the day after Adolf Hitler’s birthday.  Entertainment figures Chyna and Prince died within the last 48 hours, and we would not be surprised to see another one (or more) go at this time.  To say the least, this energy is “tough.”

This period of time reminds us of the period circa January 8, 2016 with the death of David Bowie and Glenn Frey.  Bowie’s death was within 48 to 72 hours prior to the Capricorn New Moon of January 9, 2016.

[We may revise this blog post later to reflect other events that occur concurrent with the FM of 2016-04-22]

While I am not a numerologist (I am not certain how it works), I do note the following (for those time zones where the FM occurs April 22nd): (1) the day is a master number (22); (2) month + day is a higher order master number (44); and, depending on how you reduce numbers, year/month/day is also higher order (2016=7; + 04 -11; 11 + 22 = 33).  So, arguably, in different forms we have 22, 33, and 44.  (I am certain others will note this, and I expect those who claim numerology as their domain to have something to say about it.)

Let’s begin the astrological analysis of patterns with the Hard Rectangle, since it is the rarest of the patterns present (we believe “rare patterns” represent a sort of cosmic “punctuation mark”).

Here is the chart for the 2016-04-22 Full Moon, filtered for the Hard Rectangle:

2016-04-22 Full Moon (Hard Rectangle)

This pattern involves the Sun, Moon and Nodes (Rahu and Ketu to Vedic astrologers).  Many (most? all?) of the traditional astrologers do not like using the Nodes in aspects / patterns.  This is because the Nodes are points rather than actually bodies.  The Nodes are a function of the Earth’s orbital path relative to the Earth and are mathematically determined (as opposed to “heavenly bodies” which, at least in theory, can be observed).

So, whether or not you accept this pattern (or any other that uses the Nodes) depends on whether or not you believe the Nodes affect you.  If you do, then this is an unusually intense Full Moon (FM) because the Nodes (aka “Karma”) form a Hard Rectangle (a very energetic and often dangerous pattern) with the FM.  You can accomplish much at this time, despite the upcoming Mercury Retrograde (and other retrogrades) if you keep your focus by watching your temper.  Avoid dangerous people, places, and things (unless that is your job, and I expect that police, investigators, and intelligence agencies will be very busy at this time along with scientists who explore dangerous topics (venomous snakes, etc.)), and avoid BEING a dangerous person yourself.

Just in case you somehow did not get the previous message, a Thor’s Hammer pattern is also present.  This is a notoriously dangerous aspect, but, again, it can be channeled to get things done.  You know what to do: follow the prescription we just gave (stay focused; avoid temper / violence / explosions).

Here is the (same) chart, filtered for the Thor’s Hammer:

2016-04-22 Full Moon (Thor's Hammer)

As you can see from this version of the chart, the North Node, Saturn, and the Sun form this pattern.  The early (“too early to tell”) Sun is at the Apex, with Saturn (“tests, trials, and tribulations) on one leg and the North Node (“hard karma”) on the other leg.  With so many retrogrades in play, we recommend that you avoid “banging your head” on projects that will not budge at this time and focus instead on the highest priority projects where you can make actual progress.  (You may also want to review your priorities at this time.)

We also have a Hele present, and it tells us contradictory messages!  One the one hand, with Sun/Moon in the “too early to tell” degrees, it tells us that there are some things (IMPORTANT things) that you do not yet know about the alliances you are about to form.  Are they organized crime?

And, if YOU are organized crime, then are they the undercover police that will finally seal your fate?

Yet, Scorpio-Taurus tells us that if you try to get out of this alliance “somewhere down the road,” then there will be hell to pay.  Be extremely careful with the new friends you choose at this time, and know that they may have far more power than you can possibly realize at this moment.

Here is the chart for the Hele:

2016-04-22 Full Moon (Hele)

Mercury / Vesta (together) is on one leg with the North Node (there it is again!), and Uranus and Saturn are on the other leg.  You will have to choose one or the other.

All of this sounds challenging, and it is.  But a ray of hope is present.  Kites (multiple, overlapping) are present in this chart, and for those that can see them (and harness them), powerful opportunities are present.

Here is the same chart, filtered for the kites:

2016-04-22 Full Moon (Kites)

Mercury and Pluto form this kite, along with the Nodes (again), so this opportunity will be present for one to three days, possibly longer as slow as Mercury is moving at this time.  Some time after the Mercury Retrograde station, it will open for a second “act” in the play.  But, if you really do want to seize this window of opportunity then you need to do it now.  The other variants will give you a chance to “clean up” things that result from Sun/Moon being in the “too early to tell” period.

Finally, we address the T-Squares.  They are a third pronouncement of the same kind of message that the Hard Rectangle and Thor’s Hammer bring: much energy, the potential for anger and violence, and great potential for accomplishment if the energy is properly funneled.

Here is the chart, filtered for the T-Squares:

2016-04-22 Full Moon (T-Square)

More specifically, what is involved here are mutables (Planets in mutable signs), and long term planets are present in each sign that forms the T-Square (three of four mutable signs: Virgo, Sagittarius, and Pisces).

Virgo / Pisces focuses on the issues of work and play in general along with questions regarding attention to detail (does it help by identifying important issues or does cause harm by wasting time and other resources).  They also address healthcare, with Virgo focused on healthcare providers (nurses and physicians and similar) and Pisces focuses on the illness (and how to “heal” from it (including death)).

Sagittarius forms the apex of the T-Square (with the Malefics Mars and Saturn there, both retrograde), and we find that answers to these work/play isseus (or healthcare issues) are likely located in either higher education (Universities and similar) or the legal system.

The T-Squares (multiple, overlapping) provide guidance on where you should consider focusing your efforts at this time: work, play (or rest and recovery), health, healthcare, higher education, and the legal system.  Since we are dealing with mutables, we should be looking to “wrap up” current issues and move on to new ideas and new projects.

2016-03-31 Mercury Conjunct Uranus (Kite + Hele + Mystic Rectangle)

2016-03-31 Mercury Conjunct Uranus (Kite + Hele + Mystic Rectangle)

This is the kind of day that will pass you by in the blink of an eye if you do not take a moment to capture the insights and images that present themselves.  Camera, video recorder, cell phone, notepad, and whatever can benefit you greatly when you see that one fleeting moment that you may never see again.  Today is all about insights, powerful insights, and the patterns here tell us that “somebody” can benefit greatly from them.

Surprises and accidents can happen as well.  Be on top of what can be learned from them.

The obvious source of the benefit is a “kite” pattern in play, and we show perfection of Mercury Conjunct Uranus (Aries) filtered for that pattern:

2016-03-31 Mercury Conjunct Uranus (Kite)

The key issue here is one of trust (Juno) v. “how we have always done things” (Vesta).  They can (and do) oppose each other, but they “might” can be integrated.  Moon and Jupiter (in grand trine with Vesta) complete the Kite, and we have a situation where lawyers and police officers may benefit from disgruntled wives, mothers, sisters, aunts, and similar.  (Do keep in mind that in these kinds of situations where someone “wins” usually someone else “loses.”  Sometimes this is called a “zero sum game.”)  Do keep in mind that, despite what Hollywood would brainwash us to believe on television, that not all lawyers and not all police officers are honest.  (And, if you are on the “wrong side” of this, standing to lose despite total innocence, you better get on top of it quickly.)

The kite COULD be the “end of things,” but a Hele and Mystic Rectangle are present.  The Hele tells us that “long term alliances” are likely to form today, and people will polarize (or continue to polarize) on one side of the issue.  Be certain you know who your friends are and who they are not.

2016-03-31 Mercury Conjunct Uranus (Hele)

The Pluto / Uranus Square (dissolving) form one part of the Hele (it seems to insert itself into almost everything!), and Jupiter (long distance travel, higher education, law and legal) and Astraea (law and legal) form the rest.  Looks like these alliances are likely to involve legal battles.

And THAT could be the “end of it,” but it is not because we ALSO have a Mystic Rectangle present at time of perfection of this aspect:

If you DO NOT LIKE the cards you have been dealt with the Kite (it seems a bit lopsided), you have a “way out” with the insights of the aspect combined with the Mystic Rectangle.  The Jupiter / Neptune opposition gives you a doorway to find certain insights and change the outcome.

But, in any case, capturing the thoughts and doing the work of the Magician to channel those thoughts in the ether (or, since the Physicists do not like that term, the “Higgs Field”) into manifestation.

Here is a list of Mercury / Uranus conjunctions (past and future):

Jupiter Trine Pluto 2016-03-16

First, we encourage you to review the upcoming perfection of Jupiter Square Saturn.  Second, we encourage you to review Jupiter Trine Pluto 2015-10-11 and review your notes from that time period.

Next, we note we are discussing Jupiter trine Pluto, and we need to point out that this is a LONG TERM ASPECT.  If you are in the habit of checking the newspaper or website for your “forecast today,” a fortune cookie of sorts, then you likely will NOT understand this.  This REQUIRES a long-term point of view.

Notice that this aspect (Jupiter Trine Pluto) has been in play since January 23rd, will perfect again June 26th without losing any influence, and move out of influence July 29th.  It will come into influence again shortly before the election and continue past the United States Presidential Inauguration in 2017.

What does this configuration mean?  For some people, it brings tremendous opportunity, particularly when any planet (notably Moon or Sun) enters Taurus during this window to for a Grand Earth Trine (this happens several times, notably a period in late April / early May).  We also note that Jupiter Square Saturn may bring some shakeups, particularly in the financial markets, and we will see both “big winners” and “big losers” emerge from this.

First, we present chart of the perfection of Jupiter Trine Pluto filtered for trines:

Jupiter Trine Pluto 2016-03-16 (trines)

Looks like TWO Grand Trines might be hidden amongst all those trines:

Jupiter Trine Pluto 2016-03-16 (Grand Trines)

There are two grand trines!  We see two possible opportunities.  While we might can take advantage of both of them (maybe), is one better than the other?

Yes!  One of them is part of a Kite, a relatively rare aspect that is a sign of a superb opportunity:

Jupiter Trine Pluto 2016-03-16 (Kite)

The Astraea / Uranus / Saturn fire trine is the better opportunity, though Saturn tells us that we will have to work (and maybe make sacrifices, give up something), Uranus tells us to expect surprises and requires changes and innovations, and Astraea tells us that this will likely involve the law and legal system.

We can pick the Moon / Neptune / Juno trine, but that can involve deceit (Neptune) and being on the wrong end of betrayal (Juno).  That is challenging, but keep in mind that grand water trines (such as this one) tend to bring in money.  And, again, both opportunities MIGHT can be combined.

You will have to form alliances to get the job done.  The presence of a Hele tells us this:

Jupiter Trine Pluto 2016-03-16 (Hele)

Particularly with the grand fire trine / kite, you will need to form an alliance, or alliances, to get the job done.  This is a longer term pattern

Worth noting is the presence of overlapping Square Keys (interlaced Huber Learning Triangles) and the lessons they bring:

Jupiter Trine Pluto 2016-03-16 (Square Keys)

Among other things, this period (March 2016) seems to be about “learning lessons.”

Finally, overlapping Focused Yods tell us you can achieve the focus needed to “get things done” but you must make a decision, foregoing an option and choosing one to focus upon.  Push through until you complete the task or project or at least make it to the most important milestone.

We show the (same) chart, filtered for Focused Yods:

Jupiter Trine Pluto 2016-03-16 (Focused Yod)

Wondering when you will see this aspect again (or have seen it before)?   (It is comparatively rare.  After June, we will not see it again until 2024.)

Diamond Pattern (and more) 2016-03-14

Diamond Pattern (and more) 2016-03-14

As we have said elsewhere: “International Math Day, Pi Day, or Einstein’s Birthday: take your pick.  (“All of the above” is the right answer here.)  Informally, the Moon forms a very loose grand cross with an opposition to Saturn and squares to Neptune and Jupiter.  You will either accomplish much or nothing at all.  (No in-betweens on this one.)”

But we also have a Diamond Pattern today, and these are uncommon.  We have five of these in 2016, and one begins today.  This reminds us of the Focused Yod and Diamond that occurred a few hours after the Winters Solstice 2012 (aka “The End of the World”).

Today is so heavily patterned and sophisticated that, arguably, it might be easier to list what is NOT present today: Star of David variants, Quintile Kites, Grand Quintiles, Mystic Rectangles, Hard Rectangles, Double Yod Keys, or Stretched Pentagrams.  Everything else we discuss (Everything!) is present on this date!  The Grand Cross tells us some people may accomplish nothing.  But, those that do, if they are properly focused, can accomplish amazing things.  For some, maybe many, today is a turning point.

We also note that March 16th will have a Grand Quintile, and March 23rd has a Hard Rectangle.

Here is the chart for entry to the Diamond pattern:

Diamond Pattern 2016-03-14 MON (Entry)

Moon is at the apex and during the Diamond soon perfects an opposition to Saturn.  “Things” are not “easy,” and they require work for accomplishment.  But, the Diamond tells us important accomplishments can be had today.  And, more is in play.

TWO Square Keys are in play, meaning FOUR Huber Learning Triangles, and we can learn a number of important and sophisticated lessons today.  Pay attention, BIG things are happening now.

Here is the same chart, filtered for those patterns:

Diamond Pattern 2016-03-14 MON (Square Keys)

Two Hele patterns are present and interlaced, making what we calla “Hele Key.”  This is indicative of the formation of critically important alliances, a minimum of two but this pattern tells us there may be more.  You may have important meetings, or at least email and phone calls, that need to go to certain people to form critically important alliances.

Here is the same chart, filtered for those patterns:

Diamond Pattern 2016-03-14 MON (Hele Key)

A Rosetta is present, warning us to be careful about who we invite inside to our alliances.  A temporary alliance may contain those who will ultimately betray us.  Choose your “friends” carefully today.

Here is the same chart, filtered for the Rosetta pattern:

Diamond Pattern 2016-03-14 MON (Rosetta)

A Focused Yod is also present, and it tells us where we can accomplish the most.

Here is the same chart, filtered for the Focused Yod:

Diamond Pattern 2016-03-14 MON (Focused Yod)

We also have a Kite, known well for the “good luck” in brings.  This also confirms that we can not only accomplish much today, and we can obtain good results.

Here is the same chart, filtered for the Kite:

Diamond Pattern 2016-03-14 MON (Kite)

Here is the Grand Cross we have mentioned.  As we have mentioned before, some will accomplish much, maybe truly amazing things.  Others will accomplish nothing.

Here is the same chart (again!), filtered for the Grand Cross:

Diamond Pattern 2016-03-14 (Grand Cross)

Regarding the Grand Cross, mutables are affected the most.  That means Gemini, Virgo, Sagittarius, and Pisces will be affected most.

Finally, we mention Yods (not just the Focused Yod).  We have several of them, and this indicates that multiple decisions are present today.  Given the power of these energies, we recommend that you choose well.

Here is this same chart (again!), filtered specifically for Yods:

Diamond Pattern 2016-03-14 MON (Yods)

We do not discuss the Grand Trine present because it is part of the Kite.  We do not discuss the multiple T-Squares present because they are part of the Grand Cross.

Here is a list of Diamond Patterns from 2010 to 2040.

Mercury Square Mars 2016-03-04 (Double Yod Key + extra Yod + Kite + Hele)

Mercury Square Mars 2016-03-04 (Double Yod Key + extra Yod + Kite + Hele)

As typically true with so many variants of this aspect, watch your words and watch your temper.  But, really, this one is about decisions.  A Double Yod Key is enough to tell us that more than one is in play, but a THIRD yod is present in addition to the DYK.  “Should I Stay or Should I go?”  You need to decide today.  Yods always leave us wondering “what if” we had taken the other path, but you must decide, and a failure to decide is a decision itself.  A kite is present, indicating at least one opportunity, and a Hele tells us that today is about forming long term alliances also.  People will like polarize about disputes today.

Here is the chart, filtered for the DYK:

Winters Solstice 2015-12-21 (Mystic Rectangle + Kites)

This particular Winter’s Solstice comes a bit late as is typical before a Leap Year.  Our chart is set for Plano, TX (10:47 PM CST), but to find the time of the Solstice in your time zone click here.

We see (a) a Mystic Rectangle; (b) multiple Kites (a “Kite Key” we call it); and (c) a longer-term Thor’s Hammer (God’s Fist) that lasts through the Full Moon at Christmas.  This is a particularly complicated and sophisticated Solstice sky.  We show the chart for entry of Sun into Capricorn (set in Plano, TX, where the astrologer resides) filtered for the Mystic Rectangle pattern:

Here is the Solstice chart, but filtered for the Kites (multiple windows of opportunity at this time):

Finally, we show the same chart filtered to illustrate the Thor’s Hammer (God’s Fist) pattern, one that is a bit longer term than the other patterns:

We also note that the presence of the Kites means that, by default, Grand Trines are also present.

Here are the Winter Solstice occurrences (Sun Enters Capricorn, and we include the exits as well) for the period from 2000 to 2050:

Chart Analysis for MM born 1954-04-03

I have not done an individual chart online for several years, and this will be the first.  (I still have several others “in the queue” yet to be done.)

Reader MM wrote the following:

“Just saw this. Suffering PTSD from beng target of years of governmnet corruption and having antire city hate me in Philadelphia. Birthday April 3, 1954 3:04 am Oakland CA, I think Chiron is stationing direct on my Mercury as I write this. The struggle with so many injuries and terror is intense. Thanks MM.”

I have anonymized the original entry.

To be fair, I did take the name you offered and ran an internet search.  Needless to say, I cannot verify any information beyond that.  That said….

You are doing what you need to be doing, and I think you already know that.  If you are who you say you are, then you already know that you are a warrior and mystic both, and you take on challenges that others cannot or will not.  Although I can understand this from what I have read on the internet (you are moderately famous in certain circles), your chart (which I ran first) confirms this.  But, where to begin?

You have a number of patterns in your chart, and patterns are my specialty.  Other astrologers can speak to individual aspects or houses or progressions or whatever, but my strength is patterns and what they have been built from.  That is what we will focus upon.

Your patterns include: (1) T-Squares; (2) Grand Trines; (3) a Yod (a single Yod, a fundamental decision that you periodically re-evaluate in your life); (4) a Mystic Rectangle (probably both the source of your strength and the reason you just will not walk away from conflicts); and (5) probably the highest number of Kites I have ever seen in a natal chart.

We will begin with the T-Squares.   Natal Sun in Aries tends to be associated with both leadership and open conflict, but with your numerous T-Squares conflict is a way of life.  It has always been with you, and it will always be with you even if you do sometimes tire of it.  Here is your natal chart, filtered for the T-Squares:

Based on discovery of one of your blogs, I know that you already know how to read this.  Perhaps you are another astrologer who is “testing” me.  But, if your birth chart is accurate, then that is exactly what you would do.  With this many squares, you run TOWARDS conflict rather than away.  (But, again, you already know this.)

You also have a number of Grand Trines.  You have so many that, if you did not have the numerous T-Squares, you might never get out of your chair.  (Grand Trines are gifts, but they tend to make people very, very lazy.)  Since these are fire trines, you can be inspirational, and you often motivate others to do your work for you.  You have no trouble whatsoever delegating and sending others out on a mission.

Here is your chart, filtered for the Grand Trines:

Mars is very important to Aries, and yours is at 26 Sadge.  Sadge can be many things, including Universities and foreign travel.  It is certainly religion (along with Pisces).  Sadge is the sign of the Pope (metaphorically, not literally), and we would expect you to “get things done” by being a church leader.  Mars is also the single planet in Sadge that completes ALL of your Grand Trines, making this relationship pivotally important.

Your life is dominated by a series of fundamental decisions, and an argument can be made that you make the same fundamental decision repeatedly although it make wear slightly different clothes at different times.  This decision is illustrated by the Yod in your chart:

MM done 2015-11-28 SAT (Yod)

The issue you have to decide between includes (a) North Node at the apex (hard work and “karma” that you work through repeatedly); (b) Jupiter on one leg (religion, universities, law and legal environments, and foreign travel / foreigners); and (c) Pallas on the other leg (innovations and smart ideas, particularly regarding going to war with someone).  Note that, at any given time, you can have (b) OR (c) but NOT BOTH.  You may be able to harness people via religion to “get things done” but chances are good you will ultimately alienate them.  So, you can go to war (quite effectively) or you can have the gifts of Jupiter (religion, education, law and legal issues, and travel) but not both.  (Law and legal environments might be a sort of exception.  But chances are good you can sustain that, and you will likely tire of any one issue.)

You have MANY kites, which means you “came in” with many gifts / opportunities.  Chances are good that you know this, and you have likely seized the ones you can.  The numerous kites in your chart tell us this.  (I have never seen another NATAL chart with this many kites except, maybe, Hillary Clinton’s.  And, yours are more focused than hers.)  Here is the chart, filtered for kites:

Finally, you have a Mystic Rectangle.  These are rare to begin with, and I have only seen them in two natal charts that I have worked with.  (The other chart is Hillary Clinton‘s.)  It gives you powerful gifts, but they are so powerful that you cannot resist the challenges even when you should.  Here is your chart, filtered for the Mystic Rectangles:

In an odd way, you remind me of the fictitious character Marty McFly:

Sometimes it might behoove you to “just walk away.”  Except, of course, that you cannot do that.  Like Marty, that might ultimately be your downfall.

Full Moon 2015-11-25 (Kite + Thor’s Hammer)

The upcoming Full Moon has a Kite and a Thor’s Hammer (God’s Fist).  This lunation presents and opportunity and a danger.  Here is the chart for the FM, filtered for the Kite:

We present the same chart, but filtered for the Thor’s Hammer:

If you can “keep your cool” as well as avoid dangerous people, then you can have the gift this lunation brings.  It particularly favors Sagittarius and Gemini, but Fire (Leo, Aries) and Air (Aquarius, Libra) will generally benefit.  Most Sagittarians (birthday after November 25th) will benefit most by doing a selfless act of compassion.  Do it without expecting anything in return, and chances are good that you might received an unexpected and unanticipated gift.

Venus Conjunct Mars 2015-11-02 (Kite + Rosettas)

Yesterday’s Thor’s Hammer (and Mystic Rectangle) disappears, the Moon moves into Leo, and the work week begins.  You did, or did not do, what you intended yesterday.  You accomplished, or did not accomplish, what you intended yesterday.  Today is a new day, the Moving Finger has writ, and you must move forward.  Fortunately, you may see an opportunity that compels you to do just that.  We do recommend that (in the United States) you use Monday morning for housecleaning / organization and wait until afternoon to more fully launch.  If you are signing papers, wait as late as possible in the work day, or better yet wait until the early evening, to do this.

A Kite (the pattern associated with windows of opportunity) is present in the chart of perfection for Venus Conjunct Mars today.  Also present are TWO Rosetta aspects.  We associate Rosetta with short-live allegiances and sometimes treachery.  So, as you see your opportunity, be careful about over-committing yourself.

Here is the chart for the perfection of Venus Conjunct Mars, filtered for the Kite:

We also present the same chart, but filtered for the Rosetta patterns:

To recap: (1) you may see an important opportunity today; (2) wait until just before Venus/Mars perfects to sign papers; (3) allegiances will be short-lived and, though useful at the time, may become treacherous.
