Full Moon 2016-07-19 Diamond Pattern
The Full Moon of July 19th of 2016 has a rare diamond pattern in it.
We will have more to say about this FM as it approaches perfection, but you need to know now that this indicates we are in a window of rare and powerful importance. Diamond patterns are rare, and we had one on the Winter’s Solstice of 2012 (when many people predicted the end of the world). We are not at the “end of the world,” but we (collectively) are facing major change, and this diamond pattern confirms that.
This is likely the most pattern rich lunation we have seen since we started the blog in 2008. (But, you might want to compare this to the Full Moon of May 21st, also an important lunation this year.) The following patterns are included in this particular lunation:
- Diamond
- Rosetta (several)
- Hard Rectangle (has been associated with violence when not properly channeled)
- Mystic Rectangle (a sign of rare opportunity and present in Hillary Clinton’s birth chart)
- Kites (two, interlaced; signs of powerful opportunity)
- Thor’s Hammer (aka God’s Fist, a pair of them in an incredibly rare configuration resembling a Star of David)
- Grand Cross (sometimes associated with violence as we saw in late June of this year)
- A Yod (sign of a decision; a “fork in the road” where we must decide with no turning back)
We will have more to say in the hours that come as this FM perfects, but we are just getting the basics out there for anyone else interested in patterns. Let’s face it: we live in unusual times, and the days really are bringing new, and sometimes disturbing, events.
The Rosetta is a sign of quick alliances that might turn to treachery or deceit later. Pick your “friends” carefully at this time. This chart has SEVERAL of them:
We have seen the Hard Rectangle previously associated with violence this year. (Compare the Hard Rectangle of April 22nd.) This FM has one of those, also:
The Mystic Rectangle is also particularly rare. We note that Hillary Clinton’s birth chart has one of these. They bring special gifts and opportunities to a person, and they bring the same to a window of time and the events in that same window of time.
We note that in addition to containing the Full Moon itself (Cancer Sun opposed by Capricorn Moon), that the Mystic Rectangle also contains Astraea (law and lawyers) in Virgo (healthcare and accounting) opposite Chiron (the Wounded Healer and Teacher) in Pisces. I bet major changes are happening that involve BOTH the legal system and the healthcare system. (We may not be publicly aware of them, but they are happening. The story will eventually come out.)
On a personal level, it is best to take care of either set of matters (legal system, healthcare, accounting / record keeping, and educational) at this time. This is, clearly, a turning point.
We have two interlaced kites present. This could be considered to be a “kite key” or something similar. These are not just “kites” (windows of opportunity), they are “super kites” (huge windows of opportunity, if you have the eyes to see it).
We note that these Kites CONTAIN the Mystic Rectangle WITHIN them! Open your eyes: something special is waiting for you! We note that a similar pattern occurred with the Winters Solstice of 2015.
An incredibly rare pair of Thor’s Hammers are also present. These are INCREDIBLY DANGEROUS, but they also contain the power to “get things done.” Channel that energy (and anger) into a constructive process that harnesses the opportunity (opportunities, really) that are present.
We call this unusual pair of Thor’s Hammer patterns a “Thor’s Hammer Star.” (But, if you like to call them the “God’s Fist” patterns, then we would call this the “Star of God” pattern. Truly this signals that God / the Universe / your Higher Power is speaking to you now. Please listen!) We note that each of the nodes (“Rahu” and “Ketu”) are each at the apex of each Thor’s Hammer pattern. The nodes are considered “fate” or “karma” by many astrologers.
Also present is a Grand Cross. The mutable grand cross of late June was discussed much by a number of astrologers. The consensus was that it was associated with the shakeups and violence of that period.
We note that this is a CARDINAL Grand Cross. The Mutable Grand Cross was about ENDINGS and cleaning things out. This one is about launching new things, though we may still want to do some “cleaning out” during the next two weeks of the waning moon.
A Yod is also present:
Yods are places where we MUST make a decision. Even “deciding not to decide” (abdication) is a decision. We are at a fork in the road. We must choose and never look back. The other path will always “look better,” but it, too, had its difficulties. The time to decide is at hand.
Finally, we note the presence of a Grand Trine. It is contained within the heart of the pair of kites we mentioned earlier. It brings “good times” and can make us lazy when we should be working. Do not let the opportunity slip by you.

We will add more, later, as we approach perfection of this FM. But, for now, we have covered “the basics.” And, in this case, those “basics” present to us very much to consider and act upon.

Diamond Pattern (and more) 2016-03-14

Diamond Pattern (and more) 2016-03-14
As we have said elsewhere: “International Math Day, Pi Day, or Einstein’s Birthday: take your pick. (“All of the above” is the right answer here.) Informally, the Moon forms a very loose grand cross with an opposition to Saturn and squares to Neptune and Jupiter. You will either accomplish much or nothing at all. (No in-betweens on this one.)”
But we also have a Diamond Pattern today, and these are uncommon. We have five of these in 2016, and one begins today. This reminds us of the Focused Yod and Diamond that occurred a few hours after the Winters Solstice 2012 (aka “The End of the World”).
Today is so heavily patterned and sophisticated that, arguably, it might be easier to list what is NOT present today: Star of David variants, Quintile Kites, Grand Quintiles, Mystic Rectangles, Hard Rectangles, Double Yod Keys, or Stretched Pentagrams. Everything else we discuss (Everything!) is present on this date! The Grand Cross tells us some people may accomplish nothing. But, those that do, if they are properly focused, can accomplish amazing things. For some, maybe many, today is a turning point.
We also note that March 16th will have a Grand Quintile, and March 23rd has a Hard Rectangle.
Here is the chart for entry to the Diamond pattern:
Moon is at the apex and during the Diamond soon perfects an opposition to Saturn. “Things” are not “easy,” and they require work for accomplishment. But, the Diamond tells us important accomplishments can be had today. And, more is in play.
TWO Square Keys are in play, meaning FOUR Huber Learning Triangles, and we can learn a number of important and sophisticated lessons today. Pay attention, BIG things are happening now.
Here is the same chart, filtered for those patterns:
Two Hele patterns are present and interlaced, making what we calla “Hele Key.” This is indicative of the formation of critically important alliances, a minimum of two but this pattern tells us there may be more. You may have important meetings, or at least email and phone calls, that need to go to certain people to form critically important alliances.
Here is the same chart, filtered for those patterns:
A Rosetta is present, warning us to be careful about who we invite inside to our alliances. A temporary alliance may contain those who will ultimately betray us. Choose your “friends” carefully today.
Here is the same chart, filtered for the Rosetta pattern:
A Focused Yod is also present, and it tells us where we can accomplish the most.
Here is the same chart, filtered for the Focused Yod:
We also have a Kite, known well for the “good luck” in brings. This also confirms that we can not only accomplish much today, and we can obtain good results.
Here is the same chart, filtered for the Kite:
Here is the Grand Cross we have mentioned. As we have mentioned before, some will accomplish much, maybe truly amazing things. Others will accomplish nothing.
Here is the same chart (again!), filtered for the Grand Cross:
Regarding the Grand Cross, mutables are affected the most. That means Gemini, Virgo, Sagittarius, and Pisces will be affected most.
Finally, we mention Yods (not just the Focused Yod). We have several of them, and this indicates that multiple decisions are present today. Given the power of these energies, we recommend that you choose well.
Here is this same chart (again!), filtered specifically for Yods:
We do not discuss the Grand Trine present because it is part of the Kite. We do not discuss the multiple T-Squares present because they are part of the Grand Cross.

2015-03 Late March Patterns
March 23, 2015 at 9:47 pm | Posted in 2015, 2015-Lunations, Astrology, Lunations, Patterns | 5 CommentsTags: 2015, 2015-03, 2015-lunations, Astrology, Diamond, Diamond Pattern, Diamonds, focused yods, full moon, FullMoon, Hele, Kite, kites, Lunations, Rosetta, Yod, Yods
After all of the excitement about the recent Solar Eclipse and Vernal Equinox on the same day, anything else seems anticlimactic. But, as you may have heard on late night television advertisements: “But, wait, there’s more….”
Many of these patterns flow into the early April patterns that precede the Lunar Eclipse in April. We will address those in a separate post. We begin with a powerful yod, accompanied by a lesser yod, that dominates the sky from March 22nd through March 31st. We present beginning and ending charts for this period and note that others may prefer to cast variants of these charts at other times and in other locales:
…and here is the chart for the “end” of this period:
Since what we are left with is Saturn at the apex of a yod with Hygeia on one leg and Astraea on the other, we are faced with a difficult (Saturn) decision between healthcare (Hygeia) and law (Astraea). Other patterns intervene, and we have a complicated and nuanced period located between the two eclipses.
Please note, also, that since these patterns last anywhere from several hours to several days, maps are not appropriate (unless someone decides to focus on culmination of a particular aspect that is part of a pattern).
That said, we begin with the patterns of March 24, 2015, a crucially important day for some people. Two patterns are in play (in addition to the larger yod previously mentioned): (1) a focused yod that lasts only a few hours but gives people the ability to “get things done” and (2) a kite (containing a grand fire trine) that tends to be feel good but is also capable of accomplishing much giving many people some “luck.”
No matter who you are, you will almost certainly have a window to accomplish something important on this date, and you want to make certain you do NOT miss that opportunity.

And here is the Kite:

Rosettas
As we write this, March 21st has passed. Remember that day? Did you find yourself forming some uneasy / unstable alliances with people who maybe were not “entirely trustworthy”? That will repeat on March 28th.
We note that we discussed some other issues regarding alliances in the recent eclipse post. You might recall that we said “that everything “points” to Jupiter, the real ‘winner’ in this war” which, translated, means only the lawyers win in these disputes. (Among other things, Jupiter = the lawyers.)
If you cannot stay home, then know that this will not last and be careful what you say and who you associate with:
Rosettas of March 21st and March 28th:

Perhaps even more disturbing about the March 28th Rosetta is that it is arguably (at least) two overlapping Rosettas. Multiple unstable alliances with much potential for treachery. Be careful!
Polarization also emerges on the 29th and 31st, although these alliances are more trustworthy. Do not be surprised to see extreme events involving the ongoing problems with law enforcement and the communities they police. The 29th and 31st look particularly unstable for these issues, and the 31st also has a Thors hammer potentiating the danger.
March 29th Hele:

March 31st:

Similar to the yod(s) that bracket this period, the March 26th Thor’s Hammer lasts for several days, starting on March 26th and continuing through March 30th. Again, be careful!
If somehow you “got it wrong” on March 24th, then you MIGHT have a “second bite at the apple” on March 29th. Your position will likely be much weaker, but the opportunity will not be gone altogether until after this date. An “almost” kite opens the window:
We end with the Diamond of March 31st:
Diamonds are particularly complex patterns and difficult to interpret. The end of the Mayan Calendar in 2012 had a focused yod at the moment of the end followed by a diamond a few hours later. “Not Much” seemed to happen, but the world continues to change in remarkable ways. In particular, some astounding social change is afoot, and we will become different in ways that will make it difficult to remember or understand the current times. (This is particularly true for anyone alive who can remember the 1950’s, 1960’s, or 1970’s and can compare them to today. The 1980’s movie series “Back to the Future” made this point then, but that was in the 1980’s and we have radically changed since then!)
We have seen other diamonds, such as Thanksgiving of 2014 and the Early 2013 Diamonds, but they do tend to be rare.
Exactly how this manifests depends on how we handled the earlier patterns. The Heles, Rosettas, and Thor’s Hammers are to be of concern.
Keeping in mind the warning about the earlier patterns, we will take a risk and offer the idea that, for many of us, this small window of time, only a few hours in size, will offer a special gift. With Saturn at the apex of the diamond, we are told that this is not an “easy” gift but one which we must work for, and it will involve hard work. With Vesta and Hygeia involved, it will likely involve questions of tradition and healthcare. For many people, the decision will seem personal, perhaps very internal. It might involve something as simple as starting an exercise program or attending a yoga class. But, again, it will be a profound turning point for some.
The Diamond of Thanksgiving Day 2014
November 26, 2014 at 12:24 am | Posted in Astrology, Events, Holidays | 2 CommentsTags: Astrology, Diamond, Diamond Pattern, Diamonds, Holidays, Thanksgiving
Thanksgiving Day of 2014 is marked by a diamond pattern that lasts most of the day. Here is the simplified chart:
We think this is a mostly benevolent pattern. With Hygeia prominent and retrograde, health and healthcare issues will be at center stage. This Thanksgiving many will be thinking about avoiding overeating and the perils to health that can bring. Ceres and Venus (12 and 13 Sagittarius, respectively) will also emphasize this same theme. The involvement of the nodes here tell us that some people will overdo it, and this may prompt a “wakeup call” for some.
Here is the same chart, but with an aspect grid and legends (Solar Fire “Beginners” chart):
A number of other interesting aspects are in play. Venus (Sadge) is still square Chiron (Pisces) emphasizing healing issues further. These may be emotional and familial rather than physical. Sun has recently (the day before) completed a square to Neptune, which also emphasizes healing and mercy in the high form but can involve deception or drugs / alcohol in the low form. Astraea is near a sign change (moving from Pisces to Aries) suggesting that some overdue justice may emerge in the days following Thanksgiving.
Here is the video of the pattern:

Early 2013 Diamonds
January 3, 2013 at 9:28 pm | Posted in 2013, Astrology, Patterns | 3 CommentsTags: Astrology, Diamond, Diamond Pattern, Diamonds, Patterns
The first quarter of 2013 contains two diamonds. One starts on January 29th, a few days after the Stretched Pentagram near the Full Moon (and after the State of the Union speech). The other occurs a few days after the Vernal Equinox (starting on March 24th). (Both last overnight.)
Here is the chart for the first one, on January 29th:

And here is the March 24th Diamond (a few days after the Vernal Equinox):

Diamonds are comparatively rare. We think the March 24th Diamond is particularly interesting since the Moon opposes Mercury, and Mercury is at the midpoint of Chiron / Neptune.
Splay Pattern of May 23 continues a week of intense activity

The much anticipated and discussed Grand Cross sequence began on “Algol Day” this year. That was a Sunday, and we did not see the impact on the stock market begin until Monday. Consider, for example, the behavior of the Singapore market on that day. (Popup alert.) The drop was palpable as “[i]t is likely that Singapore market will continue to be volatile and choppy in the coming days over the Euro debt crisis.”
Of course this is a key date for the NYSE as “[t]he origin of the NYSE can be traced to May 17, 1792, when the Buttonwood Agreement was signed by 24 stock brokers outside of 68 Wall Street in New York under a buttonwood tree on Wall Street.” Solar return fans might want to explore the Solar Return Chart for the NYSE.
Here is the “Stars Over Washington” analysis of the 2006 Solar Return of the NYSE. And, here is the Maya del Mar analysis of the 2006 Solar Return of the NYSE.
(As an aside, here is the solar return chart for Obama’s Inaguration.)
That said, here is the 0630 CDT chart (which is not the optimal Splay pattern found by Solar Fire but is a little more interesting because of the highly activated Arabic Parts). I’ll add in charts for patterns through May 27th. This will be a very “interesting” period.
Thor’s Hammer of May 23rd
May 23rd also has a Thor’s Hammer:
