Saturn have officially entered Aquarius, which will bring us a big shift in 2020’s energy. It will also encourage us to harness our collective power to find solutions. Saturn Enters Aquarius 1 (2020-03-21)

We are being given a taste of a major transition that will greet us more fully later this year.  Pieces of it have been unfolding for at least the past twenty years, arguably more than the past two centuries.  As Saturn enters Aquarius, almost silently, we face the Coronavirus Pandemic (Covid19) and the likely repercussions.  Internet businesses have the potential to flourish.  Some brick and mortar businesses are floundering.  Some services (healthcare, police, delivery drivers) are overwhelmed.  Other services (dine-in restaurants) are in peril.

“Things” will never be quite the same.  As Seals and Crofts sang in the early 1970’s, “We May Never Pass This Way Again.”

We present, here, basics regarding “Saturn Enters Aquarius 1” along with a glimpse of “Saturn Enters Aquarius 2.”  After “Saturn Enters Aquarius 2,” Saturn stays in Aquarius until 2023.

First, a “wheel + grid” filtered for the Stellium that is present (and had dominated recent charts):

But, What Does it Mean?

In the short term, this chart merely echoes what we have written (already) in these posts:

We can only add that a major shift has happened that is so BIG that it seems undetectable. But, some time on Sunday or Monday, expect to see or here announcements or events that are yet more profound than what has happened so far.

BIG changes are afoot, and this chart tells us that.

And it means this: the recent changes in financial markets will shift into fundamental changes in society and social structures.  Issues of communications (both face to face and electronic, but ESPECIALLY electronic) will become paramount.

Geniuses will struggle to birth their most brilliant ideas, but the ones that survive will become strong for (at least) another 28 to 30 years.

If you are a creative, this will be a difficult time in your personal life that can produce your best work yet.

Horary Versions of Saturn Enters Aquarius 1

For the technically inclined, we add to “horary” versions of this chart that add specific technical astrological information that some may find to be useful, such as information about Arabic Parts, Fixed Stars, and Midpoints:

Saturn Enters Aquarius 2

Now, we add similar charts for the SECOND entry of Saturn into Aquarius, later this year (December 16th, near midnight CST), after a typical retrograde sequence.

After this second entry, Saturn remains in Aquarius until 2023:

Note the Rosetta here.  This pattern signals dissent.  We see two major factions attempting to work together (such as bi-partisan efforts between Democrats and Republicans).  But, internally, each group is anything but unified, full of conflict.  Mars squares Pluto on one leg (they are in conflict now, as compared to their agreement on March 23, 2020), and the North Node (not a planet, but often treated as one) is in conflict with Vesta.

Interpretations of Saturn enters Aquarius

Some interpretations: Mars (war, violence) is in conflict with its “higher octave” self (Pluto: death, poisons, assassins).  Perhaps Mars wants violence but not death; Pluto wants to “finish them off.”  Meanwhile, the other group has a conflict with the North Node (karma, destiny) and Vesta (traditions, “how we have always done it”).

No matter who wins the election in the United States, “things” will become “ugly.”

Here is a list of various interpretations of “Saturn enters Aquarius” (These are external sites.  Over time, links may become “broken,” also known as “link rot.”)

New Moon 2016-02-08 (Chinese New Year Fire Monkey) Double Yod Key + Focused Yod

2016 is an “interesting” year from the perspective of astrological patterns, and we are beginning to enter what many will look back to, and consider, a magical time.  Upcoming is a Valentine’s Day period (the days before and after February 14th as well as the day itself), and this New Moon sets the stage for that intricate set of pattern.

This New Moon marks the Chinese New Year and the beginning of the year of the Fire Monkey.  As is true with any element / animal combination of Chinese New Years, this particular combination will not repeat again for sixty years.  Since we are not specialists in Chinese Astrology, we will not discuss that further here but encourage you to read more elsewhere:

This particular New Moon (as is true with all Chinese New Year NM’s that I am aware of) is in Aquarius.  That marks the beginning of a new way of thinking and new insights that precede the dreams and intuitions of Pisces that set the stage for the beginning of an entirely new (Solar) cycle (namely the Vernal Equinox, the beginning of Aries).

Aquarius is all about creative problem solving but, in the end, it is about people and reaching out to the masses to (hopefully) improve their way of life.  Thus the association of Aquarius with electronics, internet, computers, cell phones, and tablets is really subservient to carrying “the message” (whatever that may be) on “the wind” (originally the mysterious phenomena of voices that traveled for, literally, miles when the weather conditions were correct but now radio (including satellite) and other electronic channels) to the masses (all of us regardless of station in life).

That said, from the perspective of astrological patterns, this NM is about DECISIONS.  TWO (and only two) patterns are present: (1) a Double Yod Key; and (2) a Focused Yod.  In this particular case, what we have is (1) a question (many of them, actually), and (2) an Answer (maybe “THE” answer).

If you are a regular reader of this blog, or click the DYK tag above, you can read what we have written about DYK’s before.  They represent a situation in which a minimum of two decisions, and often a number of decisions, face us.  Composed of two yods and a square, the DYK’s decompose into a total of four quincunx aspects.  The Quincunx is all about misunderstandings resulting from limited information often under unfamiliar circumstances with deadline pressure.  Invariably we are dissatisfied with the path we chose and look back on the other path nostalgically (not realizing that it might have been actually much worse).

We now present the chart for the perfection of this New Moon (NM), filtered for the DYK pattern:

New Moon 2016-02-08 (Chinese New Year Fire Monkey) Double Yod Key

We note that the square that binds this DYK together is between, on one hand, the NM pair (Sun/Moon) at 19 Aquarius and Mars at 18 Scorpio.  Neither Sun nor Moon is strong in Aquarius (the sign associated with Uranus in modern astrology and one of two signs (the other is Capricorn) in traditional astrology).  Both are at a disadvantage here, but they CAN gain SOME power by the coalition they have chosen to form (the NM).

Mars is at home in Scorpio (in traditional astrology, along with Aries, the true home of Mars).  We note that the modern ruler of Scorpio is Pluto, currently in Capricorn (power structures in general but notably banks and financial institutions).  The ruler of Capricorn is in Sagittarius currently, not a strong placement for that planet.

Scorpio tends to”govern” (or be associated with) police, intelligence agencies, surveillance, encryption, assasinations, murder, poisons, drugs (both illegal and pharma), and any variant of the “underworld” (organized crime, mafia, sewers, underground pipes, coffins underground, caves, cave-ins, burials and funerals, pyramids or any other form of crypt, root plants (carrots and potatoes) and anything else similar).  Your individual situation dictates which of these apply to you individually, and the same applies to us collectively in communities, states, and nations.  We add that, at the state and nation level, this TENDS to be about police and intelligence agencies.

The hint of this situation is that Mars and Sun/Moon are currently balanced and in a bit of a “stand off” where neither can win despite the current strength of Mars and weakness of Sun/Moon.  Again, you will have to look at your individual situation to determine who might be the “winner” if anyone.

We could stop here, and many people would have much useful information to know how to procede on Monday.  (Make certain you “clean house” on Sunday during the void and avoid any major purchases or major commitments.  This is a very bad Super Bowl for some people to gamble upon; just don’t do it this time.)  But, as is popularly spoken on late night television: “But wait, there’s more!”

And, there is more.  That is because we have the Focused Yod which given that ONLY the DYK is present as an alternative pattern (and “The Question”), we can see that the FY gives us “The Answer” if we are paying close attention.

With that, we present the SAME CHART for the perfection of the NM, but filtered for the Focused Yod:

New Moon 2016-02-08 (Chinese New Year Fire Monkey) Focused Yod

So, a bit weirdly (but, again, this is Aquarius), the answer is not found in Mars / Sun / Moon at all.  It is found in a Jupiter / Chiron opposition.  And, the interactions with Mars may be a distraction, noise that is not relevant at all to the long term “big picture” though it may seem compelling at the time.

An example of this could be a traffic ticket where you must go to court.  You may need a lawyer, and if you do not take care of the matter you could be in serious trouble in the future.  But, it is mostly a nuisance (in many cases it is really a tax on behavior that is not quite “perfect”), and in the long run in it contributes nothing to your well being, growth as a person, or ability to contribute in a useful way to society at large (Aquarius, again).  Despite the power involved and compelling demands, it is mostly a waste of time.  So, whatever it is, make a sufficient (but no more) effort to resolve it and move on with the more critically important issues.

What are the “more important issues”?  First, they involve Jupiter (foreign or long distance travel, religions in general and popes and gurus in particular, law and lawyers and courts, and universities and higher education), and they involve a decision between Vesta (usually tradition but sometimes kinky sex or prostitution) and Sun/Moon (mother + father; a married couple; or any other male / female pair).  Jupiter is also very much about earning and spending money, and it tends to do this in a big way.

Chiron is really a different face of Jupiter, more specific and more narrow.  In traditional astrology, Jupiter also ruled health, disease, and healthcare.  (Arguably it does in modern astrology as well, but Neptune / Pisces is more directly associated with that set of issues.)  That said, Chiron is a more narrow subset of the Jupiter issues: primarily teaching of any kind (including higher education) and health and healthcare.  Obviously combinations apply: the teaching of healthcare to nurses and physicians is a particularly Chironic kind of activity and Chiron would tend to trump either Jupiter or Neptune in this area if a disagreement (square, quincunx) occurred.  We also note that Chiron is known as the “Wounded Healer” and is associated with the teacher (or practitioner) trying to heal some problem within themselves.  And, Chiron specifically deals with “mentor” relationships.

So, how to interpret this?  We will provide two scenarios to illustrate.  Consider for example, that you live in the United States and have received an offer to study (education = Chiron) in China (or vice versa).  Regardless of which choice you make you will likely need to spend much money (Jupiter) and travel to a foreign land (also Jupiter).  If you do choose to travel, you may have to deal with certain legal issues (also Jupiter).  In particular, your desire is to become a nurse or physician (or accupuncturist) (very Chiron).  A rather progressive couple (Sun/Moon in Aquarius) has agreed to host you in the foreign country, and their offer seems particularly attractive.  But, staying home and following a traditional path (Vesta) has much appeal as well.  That path has less risk, but also represents less gain.  Which decision will you make?

Here is a totally different scenario.  You have been ill for some time (Chiron) and are exploring healing options (Chiron).  Either one will cost quite a bit of money (Jupiter) and one of the options requires that you travel to a distant (Jupiter) healthcare center, a teaching (Jupiter) facility that engages in a number of innovative healthcare procedures (NM Aquarius).  The travel and accomodations (Jupter) will be expensive, and some of the treatments you may have to pay for yourself (also expensive and Jupiter).  The other option involves going to the hospital near home that everyone else goes to (Vesta).  That is cheaper, but you know that the doctors are not very progressive and are worried that your health may deteriorate if you choose that option.

Which of these more closely fits your situation?  Keep in mind that Aquarius tells us the answer might be “neither,” and it then becomes your job to take these ideas and be responsible for crafting your own solution.

But, whatever choice you make, this New Moon represents a profound opportunity for some people.

New Moon of February 18, 2015: Make a Decision

February 13, 2015 at 2:33 am | Posted in 2013-Lunations, 2015, 2015-Lunations, Astrology, Events, Lunations, Predictions | 6 Comments

The New Moon of February 18, 2015 is much simpler than more recent events such as the Mercury Retrograde of February 11last month’s new moon, or the Full Moon of February 3rd.  As with those patterns, we see an important decision.  Unlike those patterns, the situation has likely resolved itself into a single key decision, and you need to make it as decisively as possible and as close to the New Moon as possible (at 47 minutes after the hour adjusted for your individual time zone).  Ordinarily, we do not give precise times for a variety of reasons, but this event is clearly an exception to that.

We note, also, that this is the time of the Chinese New Year.  The official date is February 19th by most sources, but we note that it is this Aquarian New Moon that marks the beginning.

This is also Ash Wednesday, and that means the day before was Mardi Gras.  This time last year, we were wrestling with a grand cross.  For a grand cross where we said “things could go boom,” it was relatively quiet, except for hundreds of people being killed in Kiev.  I suppose that might be a noteworthy exception to “quiet.”  (And then there was that Craigslist killer.  Click for her chartBangkok had some unrest also.)  Is this year any better?  Only you can decide.  And this new moon focuses upon an important decision that you must make.

Prior to the New Moon, as with any new moon in general, you will want to clean house.  It is by removal and discarding that you will gain strength here.  And since both Sun and Moon immediately change sign into Pisces after this new moon, you will want to take your action and then rest.  (This may require physical relocation, hanging up the phone, or some other termination of communications.  TURN THE PHONE OFF at least for a few hours if not until tomorrow.)

Here is the chart with the Yod highlighted:

2015-02 February New Moon (Basic, Yod)

Note that this Yod contains outer planets: Jupiter, Chiron, and Pluto.  Therefore, this is a longer term pattern and involves long term decisions.  This particular new moon is likely a “precipitating event” requiring action now but part of a bigger picture.  And while Yods usually do not particularly favor one path or the other, this one favors healing (Neptune, nearby) over death (Pluto, and further away).  The most important action at this time may be “changing the dressing on the wound.”

If you examine the Full Moon of February 3rd you will see that it has a focused Yod.  Some components of that Yod overlap with this one, and this emphasizes making a decision now if you did not decide then.  If you DID decide then, then you may have run into some obstacle, perhaps certain items or paperwork undone that needed to be revisited and completed (Mercury Retrograde).

If you “took care of business” and completed those items, you can now move forward with your decisive action (and you should).  The period between the Mercury Direct Station and this new moon should have given you ample time to clean up whatever mess needed to be cleaned up so that you can move forward.

In the New Moon of February 18th, you should find an opportunity, and the issues of the Mercury Retrograde are tied to it.  We see this in the formation of an “almost kite”:

2015-02 February New Moon (Basic, Kite Almost (1))

As has been true for some time now, several overlapping Fire Grand Trines are also in play:

2015-02 February New Moon (Basic, Grand Trines)

We note at least one of those grand trines contains Uranus and therefor interacts with the long term T-Square involving Uranus, Pluto and the Nodes (this contains Uranus Square Pluto):

I note a pattern here, similar to a Huber learning triangle, formed of Septile aspects, involving the North Node, Chiron, and Saturn.

Regarding the maps, the most important point in the Western Hemisphere for this new moon is the Yucatan Peninsula.  (It is important because of the precise alignment of the Sun and Moon.)

We present the map of Mexico:

While we cannot say exactly what will happen there, we can say that it is likely important.  (Maybe a good place to celebrate the Chinese New Year, as long as you stay safe.)

Here is the map for the United States:

The two most interesting points in this map are (1) the Juno/Vesta crossing near Las Vegas, and (2) the Saturn / Neptune crossing about halfway between Atlanta, GA and Jacksonville, FL.

We note, also, that this Vesta line comes close to Portland, Oregon, bringing issues involving traditions and rituals into the public awareness at this time.  People who have ties to both Vegas and Portland will likely be particularly affected at this time.  Since Vesta CAN be tied to sex scandals, this might be one time when “what happens in Vegas” does NOT “stay in Vegas.”

Here is the map for Canada:

With a Sun Descendant (Sun setting) line nearby, we note that Winnipeg is once again marked as “interesting” by this new moon.

Here is the map for the United Kingdom:

Mostly the UK is quiet EXCEPT for the Jupiter line through Ireland.  We note this is likely a sign of prosperity for Ireland, and it might even be a good time for someone to play the Lotto in Ireland.  Jupiter CAN bring big LOSSES, so watch out for that, too. (Do not do anything particularly unintelligent.  But, generally, Jupiter tends to bring prosperity.)

Here is the map for Europe.  We note that France, the Netherlands, and Norway are lit up by Sun and Moon lines.  That particularly highlights the need for housecleaning and an important decision for people living near said lines in these regions:

Thanks to our recent visitors from Bulgaria and Estonia.  Unfortunately, our software does not have individual maps for your countries (maybe in a future version of Solar Maps?), so we have to use the “zoomed out” view of Europe to show your areas.

We have had an uptick in the number of visitors from Turkey, and so we will add a map that zooms in on that part of the world:

We note that Venus and Mars lines run through this area, and both are late in Pisces.  We note that Mars is part of the “Almost Kite” mentioned earlier and may bring an opportunity to those who are prepared for it.  However, the window will not be open for long.  One serious risk for late Pisces is that of deception and criminality, so some may (wisely) choose to NOT engage in this “opportunity” if it is “too good to be true.”  In the end, only you can decide.  Venus does Quintile Pluto at this time, so we do expect some people to develop some rather ingenious ideas.  (Again, some of them may be criminal.)

Here is the map for Australia and New Zealand:

The Pluto Line, and nearby Ceres line, particularly stand out.  We also note the Node line coming near Adelaide, and the Astraea line near Hobart in Tasmania.  In addition to the Pluto and Ceres lines crossing the corridor between Adelaide and Melbourne, so does a Uranus line.  Any transportation (or possibly communications) between these two areas could be subject to some disruptions or need for upgrades.

I should note at this point that, to some degree, the order in which I post maps is related to my readership.  The United States always brings the most traffic, followed by Canada and the UK (the islands not the empire) vying for second place, then India and Australia vying for third and fourth. Sometimes Australia will top either the UK or Canada.  Usually everyone else follows.  The rankings may vary sometimes, but it is always the U.S. first, with the United Kingdom, Canada, Australia and India rounding out the top five.  Recently, though, I have seen additional traffic from Bulgaria, Estonia, Singapore, and South Africa.  (So, I have added maps, to the degree that my software supports it, to provide support for those visitors.)

Valentine’s Day 2014 Full Moon has a Hard Rectangle

February 1, 2014 at 12:57 am | Posted in Astrology, BadDays, Lunations, Patterns, Predictions, Weekends | 2 Comments
Tags: , , , , , , , , , , ,

Edit: The last time we had a Valentine’s Day anything like this one was 19 years ago; the next one will not happen for another 19 years.  Really, this is a rather unique alignment of the Sun/Moon for this holiday, and the Hard Rectangle makes it even more “interesting.”  And, I have to agree with what I have read elsewhere: avoid arguments and disputes with oddball people.  After all, if you get in an argument with a crazy person, an observer might not know which one of you is the madman.

Valentine’s Day can be difficult for many of us.  If you are not a picture perfect person in a relationship or expecting strong dating opportunities, the holiday can be downright cruel.  The Leo / Aquarius Full Moon on Valentines Day this year is part of a “Hard Rectangle,” and we expect to see more squabbles than tranquil moments.  (Perhaps “making up” will be good on this date, though.)

The astrology for Valentines Day is a bit “tough” this year.

Here is the chart with the Hard Rectangle identified:

Valentines 2014 Hard Rectangle 2-1-2014 12-41-06 AM

The Jupiter / Pluto opposition is part of this pattern (along with the Leo Moon / Aquarius Sun).  Built from semi-squares and sesquiquadrates, many of us will feel agitated.  In some cases this could be a dangerous period for some.  Here is the full moon chart (set at time of culmination):

Valentines Day 2014 Full Moon 2-1-2014 12-53-24 AM

Essentially Venus is conjunct Pluto.  This CAN be GREAT for “love” and sex.  The two are merged.  However, a real risk of serious power struggles exists on this date.  Only you can decide how to use the energy, but whether used destructively or constructively the energy will be associated with emotions running unusually high on this date.

By 6PM CST (5 PM EST / 8PM PST), the Moon turns void of course for the remainder of the evening.  Friday night dates may have a bit of weirdness to them.  Blind dates will have unexpected results (the other person is married already, the other person has a quirk that bothers or, (best case) you thought you would hate them but like them; the worst case is you like them but something interrupts it and you never see them again).  Planned dates may have things go awry.

The best “dates” will be quiet time if you can achieve it despite the intense energy, or maybe some safe activity that is highly physical but quiet and away from the world.  You will have to use you imagination to determine what that might be.

New Moon January 2014, Chinese New Year

Here is the Aquarius New Moon for January 2014.  We note that this marks the beginning of the Chinese New Year, and this begins the year of the Horse.

New Moon January 2014 1-22-2014 11-54-33 PM

One thing leaps out about this chart: Jupiter opposes the conjunction of Venus / Pluto.  For those starting new romances at this time, expect “things” to be particularly “hot” in terms of sex and romance.  This could be one of the best “date nights” of the year, maybe for several years.  Wow!

For some, the shift will come in the form of unexpected and sudden career changes.  Many people will experience sudden promotions or opportunity disguised as loss (such as being fired from a rotten job).  Expect the unexpected!

So, what IS a wooden horse?  Well, the Trojan Horse was one: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Trojan_Horse

Reader Kalina writes the following:

All I read above is so very interesting for me. Been through difficult times lately and my Saturn crisis is to follow. Just wondering in which way I’ll be tested this time. Got Mercury,Sun, Lilith, Venus and Neptune in Scorpio, all in 4-th house and going through Chiron return. What shoult I pay attention to?
Thanks in advance for your kind help, grandtrines.

Here is her natal chart:

Kalina, with a late Aquarian Moon, cares deeply about justice and other people.  For someone who has so many below ground planets, and a Scorpio at that, she cannot resist the temptation to help others.  She probably prefers to do so anonymously, having been burned by scammers and cheats along the way.  She has recently experienced her Chiron return, typically a once in a lifetime event, and the combination of transiting Chiron and transiting Neptune near her birth Chiron have left her very sensitive.  Indeed, she might even be a bit psychic currently.  We would recommend that she pay close attention to her dreams and dreamworld.  They likely have useful messages for her.

I am seeing a fair number of people with Chiron returns visiting this site.  (That happens at roughly 50 years of age.)  I have a broad message for all of you: TEACH!  Chiron is the story of the wounded healer whose healing required teaching of the lessons that have been learned.  And, this is the message of the Chiron return: if you have anything useful to teach to anyone who wishes to listen, TEACH!

In your case, Kalina, you have the added bonus of Neptune empowering your teaching.  Neptune brings you the power of dreams, poetry, music, photography, and videography.  And, Neptune brings lessons learned in dealing with addictions and other illnesses.  You can draw on these.

She has a number of planets and asteroids in Scorpio and in the 4th house.  Her nature is to be private, and this can conflict with her desire to help others.  She cares deeply about her family.  As a Scorpio with so many scorpio planets, she can inflict great pain if she so desires, but she greatly prefers not to do so.  Instead, she would prefer to help heal relationships whenver possible (if she is operating in the “high form”).

If she has not worked in the healthcare field, then she should consider doing this if she is contemplating a career change.  As she is already aware, great changes have been happening in her life and are likely to continue to happen as Saturn conjoins her Scorpio planets in the next two years.  She will be an individual who can greatly benefit from this summer’s grand trine / grand sextile patterns, and this would be a good time to launch the changes into the area she chooses to focus for the next few years.

Our reader Cindy writes the following:

I have had a rough time, and feel like I’m having trouble finding myself. I’ve been looking into the effects of Saturn in Scorpio — how will this affect me? I am hoping it will be positive, as its been difficult for awhile. Thanks so much!

Here is her natal chart:

This clustering of planets is above ground and focused in the 10th, 11th, and 12th houses.  She is a strong individual who is not afraid to speak her mind and can think for herself.  Her friends (11th house) and career (10th house) are important to her.  Chances are good that she is not home much, but if she is then it probably means she is home sick.  (This does happen some.)

Career can be a struggle at times, and we would not be surprised if she works in a legal field, in law enforcement, or deals with taxes.  (Mars is in Libra in the 10th.)  She may have some trouble expressing herself when she is upset, however (Mars in Libra, intercepted).

Her teen and early adult years were relatively happy, but she has come to a turning point, experiencing setbacks in the past few years.  In a sense, she is now having to “grow up.”  Her Saturn Return process will begin in 2014, and she is starting to feel it now.  As Saturn touches her Scorpio planets, including Sun in Scorpio, she’ll have to make some decisions about what to keep and what to let go.  And, she will have to let go of some things.  (This is NOT a good time to whip out the credit card to buy toys.)

With Neptune in the 12th, she is quite intuitive.  She may have an interest in poetry, music (including singing), photography, theatre, or video production.  She is also capable of working as a counselor or social worker if she desires, though her career house says she tends to be more business oriented. Her Moon/Jupiter in Aquarius (and first house) confirms the tendency to desire employment as a counselor or social worker.  And, again, let us emphasize that she needs to avoid creating debt and pay off any debt that she has.

Regardless, she should develop these Neptune energies, and the time to start working on this would be this Spring & Summer.  A few classes in a Neptune topic (poetry, musc, etc. as listed previously) this Spring / Summer could be a good idea.

We would not be surprised to see her go back to school full time in either 2014 or 2015.

Astrology Chart for Christmas 2012

Christmas Day (that evening), Mars enters Aquarius and enters mutual reception with Uranus. That means they can “trade places,” and it amplifies each of them.  Mars (in low form) is violence and war.  Uranus (in low form) is accidents.

Sun is square Uranus (further activating Mars / Uranus), and Moon is conjunct Jupiter. Jupiter is the great amplifier (perhaps “Great Amplifier” would be better), and the Moon activates Jupiter’s amplification of events (such as Mars / Uranus) here.

The current snowstorm / blizzard could take a surprising turn and may deepen by this time.  With Uranus, anything goes.  But, just in case that is not enough, we note that the Moon is doing more than merely conjoining Jupiter, it is activating the Focused Yod associated with the 2012 Solstice.

Here is an horary version of the chart:

This will be an “exciting” time for more than a few of us.  Here is the U.S. Map at time of entry of Mars into Aquarius:

We note that Europe is not particularly active EXCEPT the Pluto line through Ireland and the Mars line through Italy.

We expect Christmas Day to be “interesting” this year.  Please have a happy and safe one if at all possible!

Monday February 2nd 2009 Aftershocks on Groundhog Day

Commenting on days past may not seem helpful, but Sunday seemed to have a malefic quality to it. If you felt it Sunday, then count on feeling “aftershocks” on Monday and the rest of the week.

This is a difficult week to get things done. Venus, also known as “love, beauty, and the pocketbook” is void until about 10pm Dallas time on Monday. If you are in the UK, then you will feel no relief until Tuesday morning.

Tuesday is a very busy and very active day, and it may be the most important work day this work week until Friday arrives. Squares and trines characterize the day giving us mixed signals. Are we in harmony or are we fighting? The part of us that wants to fight is confused (Neptune) and maybe even sick (Chiron).

A Grand Earth Trine occurs on Tuesday, so this is a very good day to get tangible things done. This day is MUCH better for finances and things financial than Monday. After 7pm Dallas time (1pm UK) the energies change with a void of an hour or so followed by lunar entry into Gemini. BOTH the Moon AND Mars go void! This shift into Gemini marks the end of the Grand Trine but also gives us energy to “get things done.”

Wednesday the Mars void ends as Mars enters Aquarius. Expect laid back Aquarians to get their feathers ruffled and find themselves facing a sense of urgency. The Satrun Inconjenct to Chiron controls both Tuesday and Wednesday and FORCES us to look at healing issues.

Thursday becomes rocky again, the most difficult and disturbing day of the week. Get everything done on Tuesday that you can, or postpone it to Friday.

Jan 24, 25, 26, & 27 (Sat thru Tue), 2009

A shift in energy happens this weekend, and you will feel it. These days should be clustered together because this is one weekend that will “spill over” into next week.

Saturday the Moon is still in Capricorn, as Friday, and Financial Markets will somehow feel this. Mars Trines Saturn, which brings a sort of “closure” the the Mars Sextile Uranus of Thursday.

Innovative ideas may be squashed in favor of the status quo. We may hear some kind of government pronouncement about the military, but it will favor keeping the status quo rather than “change.” (Saturn (status quo) is the last to whisper in the ear of Mars (military, police, violence, violent criminals).

Meanwhile, Venus has aligned to favor Uranus (women, as a group, may find that they are VERY bored with the status quo), and Mars is “forced” to communicate with Venus. Some military / police officers may find themselves locked out of their homes by their wives or daughters.

The Moon, the other major feminine planet, speaks to everyone this day, but Venus has the the last word. This could indicate a mother / daughter alliance in a family (or other) dispute.

The VERY last word in this drama, though, belongs to the children (and the communicators) who can point at the supposed authority figure and say “he did it.” (Think of the final few scenes of the movie “Witness.”)

The Moon leaves all this behind as it enters a void and then Aquarius about 1am in Dallas (7am in UK). The Moon then conjoins Jupiter followed with a conjunction with the Sun which produces a Solar Eclipse. (You should read the Friday discussion of Jupiter’s influence). This Eclipse will be particularly life-changing for some people because of the intense Jupiter involvement. Higher education, travel (and diplomacy), and the courts will become particularly pronounced for some people, and, in fact, the population of the world will feel it.

Mercury (retrograde, in Capricorn) speaks to Mars Monday (either great Romance or terrible fights). Whatever happens this day, expect to “revisit” it on March 1st (when Mercury and Mars will meet again, but this time in Aquarius with Mercury forward motion).

All of this Mercury / Venus / Mars drama (which can be children, mother, father) is tied into the eclipse. For some, this means father accepts a new job or carreer which carries him far away. (We know this about military and Iraq, but this could be something a bit new or different.)

This, by itself, would be enough, but Tuesday the Moon predictably pulls Chiron (teachers, healers, healthcare, old wounds) into the fray as well as Neptune ( poetry, music, illness, alcohol & drugs, sometime “con-artists”). Illness will clearly be an issue, and we might see a significant “uptick” in the incidence and prevalence of the current strain.

If the Mars / violence issues involved a family alcoholic or drug addict, then Tuesday can be the turning point. I cannot say exactly WHAT KIND of turning point, but a turning point. For some, it will be devastating (possibly suicide). Others will get help and finally become “clean and sober.”

Energies shift again Wednesday, but that is a topic for another post.
