Adam Lanza Natal Chart (No Birth Time)

Here is the birth chart for Adam Lanza.
Adam has a Thor’s Hammer (aka “God’s Fist”) in his natal chart. (We will discuss this in more detail in the commentary below.)
Since birth time is unknown, we have cast his chart as Sun Conjunct Ascendant (Sun CONJ ASC). Here is the chart:

We note that the Ascendant and Midheaven must be ignored in this chart, and the exact position of the Moon is unknown (just “early Capricorn”). This chart has a LARGE number of squares and sesquiquadrates. Indeed Venus (in Aries) has two squares and a sesquiquadrate!
(Update 12/15 @ 1445 CST, continued from above:) We discussed the Thor’s Hammer earlier here and here. Also known as the “Quadriform,” this pattern is also described here.) Often associated with earthquakes and explosions, the Thor’s Hammer can be a very dangerous aspect. In Adam’s case, Jupiter is the Apex Planet and has Venus on one side and BOTH Neptune and Uranus on the other side. (Our name for four or more planets in a Thor’s Hammer pattern is “Thor’s Hammer Key.” It is an amplified form of the already dangerous Thor’s Hammer.)
Jupiter is a great amplifier of things, and we suspect that any conflict Adam had with his mother or the school was hugely amplified by this Jupiter in a position to cause an “explosion” (gunshots, in this case). We note that his Venus was highly afflicted in a number of ways, and come to an even stronger version of the conclusion that some kind of “atypical romance” may have been an important piece of the puzzle.
Uranus is associated with explosions, Jupiter in aspect with Uranus is associated with big explosions (or lotto winners), and this particular pattern is the most explosive of all. (We have noted earlier that a major explosion happened on the date of Adam’s birth.) Adam was, indeed, wired like a bomb waiting to explode. (We are a bit surprised that he used guns instead of explosives. Maybe it was because guns were easier to use than explosives.)
That said, we do not quite believe in “fate” but in “propensities.” We bet that a large number of people were born on this date. We suspect that a large number of them had one or two “bad days” this week. What could lead someone like Adam to choose to commit a massacre?
We still wonder what triggered Adam’s explosion. Was he treated unfairly or falsely accused of something? (We are asking a question, not making a statement.) SOMETHING triggered this disproportionate response. What was it?
Whatever it was, it was disproportionate. In researching this article, I came across this blog entry. It strikes to the core of the issue. And, here, the core of the issue is not guns. The core of the issue is mental health.

That said, back to the astrological analysis.
As mentioned in the preliminary analysis, Adam had a Grand Earth Trine (ordinarily a marker of someone of great financial wealth) that was activated by the recent entry of Saturn into Scorpio.
- Saturn’s entry into Scorpio (October 6th and beyond) creates a kind of instability in his grand earth trine.
- Saturn semi-squared his Uranus / Neptune (and activated the Thor’s Hammer some time after October 6th).
- The “straw that broke the camel’s back” happened with the new moon of the 12th / 13th that squared his natal Mars.
- He acted at the time of his (nearby) personal new moon.
We stick with the idea that we wrote about 12 hours ago (about 2am locally) that we think something happened on the 12th or 13th (before the New Moon) that set in motion the events of this tragedy.
We have located two points that we think worthy of mention here:
- Jude Cowell points out that Mars (in Capricorn) recently transited Adam’s natal Uranus and Neptune. This was almost certainly a major contributor as well.
- Over at AstroDispatch, the author points out that Pluto (in Capricorn) is conjunct (we think) Adam’s natal Moon. This is a long-term high stress aspect.
We do not have a birth time to build an ascendant, but we are going to risk doing an analysis with a rectified chart (something we avoid). We were going to set the birth time at 4:20 pm because that aligns the moon in the natal chart with the moon in the December 14th 9:18 am Double Yod Key (DYK) chart.
However, by moving the time to 2:50 pm, we move the ruler of the 10th into the 8th house. (Gemini on the 10th, and Mercury on the 8th.) This is a well-known marker of those who become famous in death, and it is not possible in all configurations but it is on this particular date of birth. (JFK’s natal chart is a textbook example of this; he had Leo on the 10th and Sun in the 8th. Of course, he was victim rather than perpetrator. But, the point is that he became particularly famous in death, consequent to his assassination.)
This chart has Jupiter rising and in the 12th (the house of Self-Undoing) and Sun, Venus, and Mercury in the 8th house (house of Death). Pluto (planet of death) is in the 3rd house (of children), and Mars (planet of violence and war) is in the 7th house (of relationships with others). We think this chart is a very good candidate chart:

We note that the ascendant in this chart (24 Virgo) is trine Algol (26 Taurus), and that the Sun is in the 8th (death) house. We have illustrated the Thor’s Hammer relationship in the chart.
We do note that we are reluctant to attempt rectification at all. But, these are our best guesses.
Adam Lanza (Preliminary Analysis)

[A number of the search engines are behind and have not caught up with our most recent post on Adam Lanza. There, we cast a natal chart and also attempt to rectify the chart. It is a detailed extension of the remainder of this post.]
The Sandy Hook, CT school shooter has been identified as Adam Lanza, the younger son of Nancy J Lanza. Nancy J Lanza, a single mother after a divorce some years earlier, was either a Kindergarten teacher or a teachers aid at the school. We have addressed the timeline of the shooting in an earlier post and now specifically focus on Adam Lanza.
Current (12/15 @ 0143 CST) news reports describe Adam Lanza as a 20 year old suffering from an autism spectrum disorder (possibly Asperger’s Syndrome) and possibly a personality disorder. We have his date of birth reported from multiple sources: April 22, 1992. We do not have a time of birth, but (based on available reports) he was almost certainly born in either New Hampshire (less likely) or Connecticut (most likely). We will use Sandy Hook as his birth place (although he may have been born in New Haven).
First, we would like to cover some other background. We look at patterns on this blog, so we are interested in other events on that date (or “nearby”).

Finally, we observe noteworthy similarity between this shooter and Kip Kinkel. Both had a Capricorn Moon; between them: (1) Suns are trine (Taurus / Virgo), (2) Venus’ are trine (Aries / Leo), and (3) Mars’ are trine (Scorpio / Pisces).
Differences are noteworthy as well. (1) Kinkel did not have a grand trine. (2) Kinkel’s moon clearly trined Algol (while Lanza’s almost certainly does not). (3) Kinkel’s Neptune (Sadge) and Pluto (Libra) formed a yod in relation to Algol. Yod’s are about decisions; Neptune is often about self-sacrifice; Pluto is about death. Astrologically, Kinkel seemed to face an alternative of sacrificing himself (Neptune) or others (Pluto) and obviously chose the latter. We are certain that Lanza faced choices that were significantly different (though he reached a remarkably similar conclusion).

[Update: A few others have noted similarity to the birth chart of Adolf Hitler. Sun and Moon are similar, but much of the rest of the chart is different. We think Kinkel’s is a closer match when looking for similar charts and similar patterns.]
(We have written extensively about Algol elsewhere on this blog. Moon conjunct Algol at the time of the Vernal Equinox in 2010 heralded a series of disasters, including a West Virginia coal mine explosion, that later culminated in the BP Deepwater Horizon accident less than a month later. “Algol” is an arabic word that means “The Ghoul,” or the Cryptkeeper.)
A preliminary analysis shows that the Moon had to be in the first 15 degrees of Capricorn and applying to a conjunction of both Uranus and Neptune. First of all, we note that about 1 person in 12 has a Capricorn Moon, but not 1 person in 12 becomes a mass murderer. That said, Capricorn Moons are thought to often have some absence of compassion for others. Oddly, this can make for GREAT leaders! It can also make for mass murderers…. (My apologies to the 1:12 visitors who might be offended by that! 🙂 )
Saturn and Uranus were in mutual reception producing a kind of unpredictability that is difficult to describe. (As we note above, a newsworthy powerful explosion happened on the date of Lanza’s birth.)
Venus squared both Uranus and Neptune. We will address Venus Square Uranus momentarily. Venus Square Neptune invariably produces false hopes and unjustified aspirations in all who are touched by it. (All the daily astrologers give the same advice when Venus squares Neptune: “Do not sign any contracts.”) Given the superb career performance of both the father and the older brother, if this son was indeed autistic, then chances are good that he was a disappointment to those close to him, except perhaps his mother.
Adam had a rather powerful Grand Earth Trine in his chart. Arguments fly regarding the meaning of grand trines. We consider them benevolent, but others see them as malevolent. Almost all agree that “things” come easily to those who have them. Had Adam been willing to accept his difficulties, chances are good that someone in his family would have picked him up each time he fell. But, Venus square Uranus/Neptune left him determined to prove himself. While that quality sounds admirable to most of us, that quality may have precipitated his downfall.
Indeed, he was a bit “beyond lucky” because he had a kite, rare configuration of a grand trine with another planet attached as a “head.” The head of his kite was Mars in Pisces. Though kites are ordinarily lucky, this is a difficult placement. Mars in Pisces and Venus Square Uranus indicates a potentially strange and difficult series of experiences involving love and romance.
[Update (12/15 @ 1411 CST): Upon further examination of the chart, we have decided that Mars is too far out of alignment to qualify for a Kite. However, we have now found something far more ominous: a Thor’s Hammer. We will address this in a new entry.]
We wonder if he was wounded, perhaps by a conflict between mother and a (potential?) prospect for romance, and if he felt that wound far more deeply than most. (Or, alternatively, he may have been falsely accused of something he did not do and felt compelled to seek “justice.”)
Earth is often both stubborn and critical. We suspect that he both gave and received criticism in amounts that were difficult for him to shoulder.
Without a birth time, we hesitate to speculate on what triggered his reaction on this date. Our best guess is that Saturn, in Scorpio, was activating the planets of his grand trine (particularly if he had an “early” moon). (If this outcome reflects Saturn in Scorpio, then we have a hunch that the chain of events that led to this outcome began on or about October 6th of this year.) If the Saturn in Scorpio set up a potential “bomb” in his kite / grand trine / Thor’s hammer, what was the trigger that set him off?
Our best guess is that the Sadge New Moon on the 13th squared his Mars, and someone (we are not sure who) issued some kind of ultimatum. Whatever happened on the 12th / 13th, whether or not it involved some (atypical?) romance, Adam Lanza decided that he had to take action. And, when the Moon returned (or approached the return) to its natal place, a place sometimes of endings, he did just that.

“I only did seven of the autopsies. The victims I had ranged from three to 11 wounds apiece and I only saw two of them with close range shooting.”
(2) Daily Mail has an interesting piece but I have detected at least one comment that is either in error or misleading: “He used two semi-automatic pistols, a Glock and Sig Sauer, and reportedly wiped out an entire classroom of young children.” (Refer to above comment by examining physician who says wounds were caused by the “long weapon.”)

CT School Shooter ID as Ryan Lanza

[This post may be updated several times in the next week or two.]
ABC News has provided an ID of the CT School shooter as Ryan Lanza. (Update 12/16: Indeed, they did ID as Ryan initially. But, we now know it was his brother, Adam.) In the absence of any other information, here is an horary chart based on the moment of the announcement of his identification (by David Muir) on ABC News, 1337 CST (set to time local to Plano, where the chart was cast):

[Update (12/14): Ryan Lanza is alive and cannot be the shooter. The news media currently (12/14, 3:54p CST) reports Adam Lanza as the shooter.]
We estimate the beginning of this tragedy to have been the alignment of Pluto with the ascendant at 8:25 EST (set in CT):

[Update (12/15): We suspect that Nancy Lanza was murdered by her son, Adam Lanza, at this time (8:25 am EST), possibly as she prepared to leave for work at the school. We base this on currently (12/15 0116 CST) available timelines without adjustment to account for his or her birth data.]
We note that the sign of Libra is intercepted in the 9th house of education and Aries (with Uranus present) is intercepted in the 3rd house of children and siblings.
We believe that the event was finished by the alignment of the Jupiter-Saturn-Pluto Yod with Saturn (in Scorpio) at midheaven, which was approximately 9:18 EST (Newtown, CT):
[Update (12/14): We believe (now) event was culminating at this point and likely finished (suicide by shooter) later. However, if that is true, we cannot find a clear termination point. Could be as early as Mars CONJ ASC or as late as ascendant becoming Aquarian, which was also when Neptune moved from the 2nd to 1st house. None of those are nearly as good as 9:18, but news reports have said repeatedly that no call about the shooter was made until 9:30 or 9:40. Did the news get that wrong, too?]
[Update (12/15 @ 0117 CST): We suspect that this (9:18) was Adam Lanza’s arrival / entry to the school. He may have taken advantage of the chaos that sometimes happens as students and teachers head to class, attempting to start class at 9:30 am. If that is true, then he likely ended his own life by 9:56 am when the ascendant changed signs from Capricorn to Aquarius and, nearly simultaneously, Neptune (planet of martyrs) moved into the first house.]

The noteworthy pattern here is the Jupiter-Saturn-Pluto Yod (part of a Double Yod Key) which will be prominent on the 2012 Solstice. Do the school shootings reflect something about the larger shifts that are happening?

Also interesting: NJ has the strictest laws regarding guns (and their possession) in the nation. How did the NJ gunman acquire a Sig and a Glock (and two other weapons, possibly a Bushmaster .223) while living in a state with such strict “gun control”?
[Update (12/15 @ 0124 CST) We know, now, that Ryan was not the perpetrator even though the NJ police led him away in handcuffs. But, we still ask, how did 20 year old Adam, autistic by some reports and the child of a single mother kindergarten teacher, come to possess the collection of firearms that he used? This seems very strange given the laws in place requiring background checks to prevent the mentally disabled from acquiring weapons. And, where did he get the money to make the purchases? He had between $1000 and $2000 worth of weapons….]

Saturn Square Uranus December 24th of 2021 (2021-12-24)

First: this group of aspects terrifies me. Saturn square Uranus, by itself, has much to say and affects many people over significant periods of time, a minimum of seven years but probably much longer, twenty one years or more. But, more is present.
Summary
For those who like short summaries, here is a short summary in bullet point form:
- Many astrologers have covered the three Saturn Square Uranus aspects of 2021; I encourage you to read those articles that talk about how you will need to be ready to let go of the old to welcome in the new. So much has been written from that perspective that I will not duplicate any variant of that narrative here.
- Similar to ancient astrologers (though I am a “modern”), I tend to write about disasters. Indeed, the word “dis-aster” originally meant “bad stars” or something similar. (“Dis” = “away from,” or, more loosely, “bad”‘; “aster” is from the same root as “astro-logy” (study of the stars); again : “dis-asters” were related to “bad stars”)
- I have been thinking about this since November, and I had been planning to write about how I believe these aspects could be tied to a mass casualty event or large scale event similar to “Winter Storm Uri” of the week of February 17th (the date of the perfection of the first square). However, the tornado that crossed six states and destroyed Mayfield, Kentucky beat me to the punch.
- Even so, I do not think “it is over” yet.
- Finally, I am actually worried about danger to myself. Given how some of this aligns with my own personal chart, I am worried about danger to myself.
- I plan to REVISE this entry, but I want SOMEthing up tonight (December 17th into 18th)
A More Detailed Analysis
I present eight versions of the same chart, beginning with the one I had planned ot save for last: a chart for the moment of perfection set in Plano, Texas (where I live) and filtered for “1%” in SolarFire, the strongest possible aspect(s) (other than Saturn Square Uranus).
Vertex and Pallas
That chart has the curious aspect of Pallas (6th House of Work) sextile the Vertex (8th House, the “Death” house).
What does that mean?
The Vertex

Townley calls the Vertex the “Crossroads of Destiny.” His teacher’s teacher, L. Edward Johndro, called the Vertex the “electric ascendant.”
I offer the following quote from the aforementioned link : “Jayne taught that it was a point of fate or destiny (older astrologers threw those words around a lot), at which things happened that determined the path of your life. They could be large and obvious or small and seemingly insignificant at the time, but you would look back later and say everything changed at that point, in retrospect.”
That sounds powerful!
Pallas (The Goddess of War)

Sometimes referred to with the surname “Pallas Athene,” she was said to have been born from her father Zeus’ head in full armor. War?
What does Pallas + Vertex mean, in the STRONGEST POSSIBLE ASPECT (besides Saturn / Uranus) in this chart?
I think it means a SERIOUS RISK of war. I will not dig into it. Uranus is notorious for surprises. That could mean the risk of ambush is severe. This could mean a coup in some nation where no one really expects it. (Saturn Square Uranus is all about the fall of the old, ushering in the new.)
Or, it could mean none of that. Maybe the scientific breakthrough will come at this time as needed to “end the pandemic,” if that is even possible given the issues of (1) how widespread Covid19 has become and (2) almost daily emerging variants.
But, if you are into “creative problem solving,” then this is a good time to put on your “creative thinking cap.” (Most of all, STAY SAFE!)
An Anaretic Grand Cross
The Grand Cross pattern tends to be rare though it shows more often when asteroids, “the Nodes,” Chiron, and Vertex, and similar points and bodies are used that the traditionalists do not use. (The traditionalists use the traditional “seven planets”: the “Lights” (Sun and Moon), and Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter, and Saturn).
This GC is anaretic, in the last degree of the respective signs, a kind of punctuation mark regarding “endings.” This is what conerns me, and concerns me greatly, about the potential for loss of life.
Beyond this, I will say nothing more at this time EXCEPT that spotting the Anaretic Grand Cross was THE pattern that inspired me to write this article, agonizing about it since about the eclipse of November 19th or the previous eclipse two weeks earlier.
5th Harmonic : A Golden Yod
Golden Yods (a planet at the apex of two biquintiles with the planets on each leg tied together by a quintile) are also rare. They are usually benevolent, but they are a source of enormous creative power (mental power, similar to Pallas) and CAN be misused.
How “misused”? Hitler had a Golden Yod in his birth chart, and it was no doubt THE source of his (evil) genius.
7th Harmonic : Another Triangular Pattern
This chart has a 7th harmonic triangular pattern with Chiron (wounds, healing, and teaching) in Aries (war) and the apex of the triangle. Since this is a particularly difficult pattern to predict, we will leave it for others to predict or even (ugh!) hindsight analysis.
Thor’s Hammer (God’s Fist)
We have written many times about the Thor’s Hammer pattern. Finding that pattern in the birth chart of Adam Lanza (the Sandy Hook shooter) “hammered” home how deeply associated with violence (and especially explosions) this pattern is.
This chart has a Thor’s Hammer, also called “God’s Fist.”
The Moon v/c, anaretic square Ceres/ North Node (also anaretic and both part of the Anaretic Grand Cross) and the pair have Juno (trust issues, especially betrayal, such as in an ambush) at the apex of a a pair of sesquiquadrates (135 degrees). This is not merely a Thor’s Hammer (bad enough by itself), but it ties in a void of course Moon (as was true with 9/11, the World Trade Center attack of 2001) and BETRAYAL.
This is another AMBUSH marker.
A Rosetta
This pattern is indicative of two warring factions that attempt to put on a good public face but have profound disunity internally.
Maximum Aspects
We include a different “maximum aspects” chart, not quite as tight as the “Pallas / Vertex” chart. But, Hygeia is in a quincunx to Ceres / Node and this could indicate an event that may produce more demand than the healthcare system can handle.
9th Harmonic
We present this chart without further analysis at this time.
Conclusion
We may provide additional analysis later. As mentioned previously, I am worried for my safety, and, also, I am worried for the safety of many others.

Preliminary Charts Based on Publicized Birth Date
We present these preliminary charts based on publicized birth date of April 17, 1999 in Syria (we use Damascus) of Al Aliwi Alissa, the Boulder CO shooter / spree killer who (allegedly) murdered ten people on the afternoon of March 22, 2021.
Most “no birth time” attempts at rectification start with Sun at MC (Midheaven Chart, the “top” of the sky) or Ascendant (the “rising” point). However, given that we are proposing a chart for a mass murderer, we are starting with variants of the 8th House (Death House, associated with the sign Scorpio and co-rulers of Mars (traditional) and Pluto (modern)).

Note that this chart places (1) natal moon conjunct transiting Uranus (near MC in the chart at the time of the shooting); (2) Pluto near MC in natal chart; and (3) Mars (traditional ruler of Scorpio) in Scorpio and in 8th house.
Furthermore, (1) Neptune and Uranus are in the 12th, (2) the 2nd House Stellium of Jupiter, Sun, Pallas, Saturn and Moon are ruled by Mars (in the 8th), and (3) the Ascendant here is both “too early to tell” and almost exactly 180 degrees rotated from the “announcement chart” of 4:33 PM MDT in Boudler, CO on March 22, 2021.

Vernal Equinox 2021 : A Worrisome Thor’s Hammer
Summary : a Thor’s Hammer at this time involving Mars (peregrine), Pluto, and Vesta is a cause for concern regarding an event involving collectives such as military, police, or allied health. This pattern at this time may signal a mass casualty on or near this date.

The Thor’s Hammer is associated with explosions, mining disasters, airplane crashes, and train wrecks. Maybe the most notably example in recent decades is found in the birth chart of Adam Lanza (see, also this entry), the Sandy Hook School Shooter.
This particular tragedy could involve a shooter.

The possibility of a disaster worries us. We provide a United States map, below, that may identify likely geographies. (One line runs through my home state of Texas. Wasn’t the ice storm, “Winter Storm Uri,” enough?)
Events of concern may not occur “day of” the equinox. Mars perfects the square to Vesta 7 AM Sunday Morning (March 21st), and Mars perfects the sesquiquadrate to Pluto on March 23rd. The window from March 19th through March 24th should be considered “risky.”
How to proceed? (1) Stay away from dangerous people, places, and things. (2) Know that this is a an EXCELLENT time for FOCUSED EFFORT *IF* you can avoid anger despite the inevitable nuisances that will challenge. Today, and the period from March 19th to March 24th, SAFETY is the most important consideration. Everything else flows from that.
Thieves will likely be operative in this window, so keep possessions safe, also.

A Hele is also present, a sign of internal agreements in groups (such as political parties) but disputes, sometimes acrimonious disputes, between groups (such as political parties). Political events may yet heat up again.

2021 Aquarian New Moon : Double Thor’s Hammer Key + Multiple Rosetta

Lunations vary. Much as “opinions vary” (immortal words uttered by the Philosopher “Dalton” in “Road House” (played by Patrick Swayze)), lunations vary. Some are, frankly, boring. Some are more interesting.
This one is more interesting.
First of all, for many events, this New Moon (NM, hereafter) is the “trigger” associated with upcoming Saturn Square Uranus. One of my teachers said it many times: often the day of a huge, arguably “cataclysmic” outer planet event is a dull day with little to nothing compelling happening (except for births or deaths that happen on that date). But, according to my old mentor, MANY times the immediately preceding (or following) lunation (NM or FM) is a “trigger,” setting in motion critical events.
I believe that is true here. The NM of Thorsday triggers much. Some of it scares me.
Six Major Considerations for this New Moon
Here is my list of “issues” with this NM:
- Thor’s Hammer Key : I have never seen a book describe this (at all!) and Solar Fire (as of version 9) does NOT have a built-in search for this (I would like to see it added). Similar to a “double yod key,” the Thor’s Hammer Key (or, if you prefer, “God’s Fist Key”) is a combination of two Thor’s Hammer patterns interlaced on one side. We have that in this chart, and (similar to Adam Lanza who had a Thor’s Hammer in his birth chart) the Thor’s Hammer can make “things” go “boom.” I will not say it happens every time, but the POTENTIAL is there! (Be careful! Avoid dangerous “things” (people, places, and things. Offer a kind word rather than an angry insult. Apologize. Watch “Unhinged” again! Here is a question : Is the character played by Russell Crowe really the villain? Are you sure? How do YOU act in those situations? Would you apologize? Do you hunt someone down if they don’t apologize to you? Or, are you a doormat? Do you feel your blood boil sometimes? Did you “just want an apology” when you were having “a really bad day”? Have you felt that lately?)
- Rosettas, multiple and interlaced. One side opposes the other. Oddly, both sides seem cooperative. But both sides have HUGE internal battles waged “behind closed doors.” Expect the impeachment trial of Donald Trump to prove to be “interesting.” (Let’s face it, regardless of what the outcome may be, dissatisfaction will be vented extensively, maybe by BOTH sides.)
- 7th Harmonic activity : Karmic (always) and (sometimes) scientific or technical breakthroughs. What appears to be a four planet pattern with a trapezoidal pattern is in play. Whether or not that is true depends on how tight you set your orbs, but (if you are willing to loosen your constraints) the pattern looks interesting.
- 5th Harmonic : The 5th Harmonic looks deadly boring UNTIL you realize that Jupiter forms a bi-quintile with Vesta, and Vesta was involved in the aforementioned 7th harmonic activity. Specifically, Sun/Moon (this IS a NM!) form a 7th harmonic aspect with Vesta. So, what DO the Sun/Moon (father and mother) want to talk to Jupiter (the philandering prodigal son born to be king) through Vesta (collectives and their traditions and rituals)? I am not sure, but it looks interesting. AND, the distance from Jupiter to Sun/Moon is 10d40m (ten degrees and forty minutes), almost exactly 1/33 of the “wheel in the sky” (that keeps turning).
- Grand Cross : We have mentioned this in every recent chart. Neptune and Vesta (whoops, there it is! Again!) oppose each other and the Nodes square both. This is a curious aspect, and it is in play long enough to color this window of time from before the inauguration until ? until ? until ? (Maybe March? April? later?) Seeing collectives (including religious ones) in opposition to dreams, music, poetry, religion, drugs, and alcohol, and FATE (the Nodes) insisting on that conflict, makes for “interesting times” to experience. The Neptune-Vesta-Nodes GC might also be symbolic of the Pandemic as it continues into 2021.
- T-Squares: Ordinarily, we can ignore these when looking at a Grand Cross. BUT, these are NOT ordinary times! Complete separate from the previously mentioned T-Square, we have Hygeia opposing Saturn. Interesting by itself, the fact that Saturn is making its first square to Uranus (since April, 2001) creates the T-Square. When Moon reaches 7 Scorpio (in less than three weeks), a different Grand Cross will form. The Neptune-Vesta-nodes GC is a source of discontent and dissent, but the Hygeia-Saturn-Uranus-Moon GC has the potential to cause radical shifts, deep change that may involve (more) violence.
Any given chart can be “farmed” at length for more meaning. We do that all the time with natal charts. But these six key patterns are enough to be “interesting” as the NM “pulls the trigger” on the Saturn-Uranus square on February 17th.
Thor’s Hammer Key (Interlaced) :
A Potential for Violence or the Energy to Get Things Done (You Choose)
Here is the chart for the THK :
Uranus-Neptune-Hygeia-Astraea form this pattern. Uranus and Neptune are heavy hitters; they tend to shape the world for generations to come. Hygeia is “health and healthcare”; Astraea is “law and legal.”
You can piece together the rest. Stated simply, battles are brewing over healthcare and the laws that govern healthcare. But, if you watch the news, then you already knew that!
Rosettas : Opposing Sides Seem to Agree, But Internal Battles are Fierce
Here is the chart:
The massive activation of Mars (FOUR squares!) tells us this is a BIG FIGHT. Better be prepared!
7th Harmonic : Problems with Supply Chains Continue But Innovative Solutions Are Possible
Mars-Ceres-Saturn-Juno form the four planet pattern here. Mars and Saturn are, respectively, the “Lesser Malefic” and the “Greater Malefic,” but how do Ceres (food, supply chains, the grocery store having what you want, enough vaccine to “go around,” and similar) and Juno (traditional female family roles : mother-daughter-sister-aunt-niece but ESPECIALLY the wife angry at the philandering husband) fit in?
Without the modifers: how do Ceres and Juno fit in with Mars and Saturn? Whatever the case, frankly, it SOUNDS bad (geez, Mars & Saturn are in play here; Grant Lewi made much of Mars Square Saturn in Hitler’s natal chart). I don’t know about you, but it sounds scary to me!
Whatever the case, it will be “karmic” (a long overdue balancing of some kind) and (strangely) scientific and technical breakthroughs may result from it. Hold onto your hat!
We also note that Vesta (of the Grand Cross mentioned earlier) forms a TriSeptile with Sun/Moon at time of perfection of the NM. What does THAT mean? We are not certain, but it ties into the GC mentioned earlier and it will have something to say about our traditions and our collectives!
5th Harmonic
At first blush, this chart looks boring. But, then we see that a BiQuintile connects Vesta (!) with Jupiter (AND Venus!). What involvement of the King (and sometimes philandering husband) and his sweetheart, the ever lovely Venus, to these collectives and their ever important traditions? To be certain, Vesta is an important player here.
Grand Cross : Collectives Meet Their Destiny, A Tipping Point for Millions
At this point, the GC seems anti-climatic. But, in addition to the Saturn-Uranus square, it is the star for the moment. As seems ever true with Neptune, the pattern risks fading into the background with the other drama in play. But, the key issues of the day can be found here! Poetry and music can heal. Alcohol and drugs (and other addictions) can destroy. Which path do you choose?
Vesta makes this GC about collectives : (military, police, religious orders, healthcare workers). Neptune brings huge changes, some of which are deluded mis-steps and others will make their way into poetry and song.
T-Squares : A Signal of Radical Change Coming
That brings us to the final pattern we will review : T-Squares. We ordinarily ignore those when a Grand Cross is in play (a “T” is just a GC with a piece missing), but another T is in play that will have importance in a few weeks when the Moon at 7 Scorpio will make it into a grand cross. (March 3rd)
This is a “fixed” T, and you can expect that some progress will come to a halt because people will choose to NOT give up their positions.
The Fixed Grand Cross is also known as “The Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse,” particularly if at fifteen degrees. This one is at seven, but shakeups are still likely.
However, sometimes a GC can be highly productive. A bit of insight or “higher order thinking” can be helpful.

That is the mood of the moment, right?

Considering the combination of a T-Square (common, and breeds anger), a Grand Cross (RARE, and the amplified entity that a T-Square is TRYING to be), and a Thor’s Hammer (what is that? This portrait of Adam Lanza, the Sandy Hook School shooter, explores the Thor’s Hammer (ANGER!) in his birth chart.)
“We” (collectively) are being hammered by a series of variations on what is described in the previous paragraph. The patterns have been in play for months, are in play now, and will continue to be in play. And, if you think electing Biden will solve the problem, then you are deluded. Nada will improve over Trump, and it might all worsen.
Does that piss you off? Good. Maybe you can break through your denial.

Both of those charts are filtered for 8th harmonic aspects, the ones that range from minor irritations to deadly explosions. All of it is active now!
Just knowing this will help SOME of you. Not everyone will get it, but chances are good, if you are reading this, that you are the kind of person who is willing to learn the lesson given to you. You look for wisdom in places others refuse to go, and you can dig out a little self-control over all that anger and rage.
Said differently, you can channel it. And I do not mean channeling it like Adam Lanza did into being a school shooter or the people did who broke into the capitol building. Myself, I used some of my irritation to clean out the garage. And, as I found problems and various situations in the process, I became EVEN MORE ANGRY.
That could have broken me, but it didn’t. The garage is still a mess, but it is much better than it was when I started.
You can do the same thing.
To make the Thor’s Hammer clearer, here is a chart filtered specifically for that:

Vesta (traditions, especially military and police but ANY traditions) appears to be at the focus of the Thor’s Hammer. Sesquiquadrate to Vesta (one leg) is Saturn (structures, especially existing social structures, but also bones (your skeleton!), the structures of buildings (especially the beams that carry the weight), and any other kind of structure). The Sun is currently close enough to be included in an additional sesquiquadrate. Some people would argue that nearby Pluto should be included.
Frankly, I can see that (Pluto being included here), but I am trying to “keep things tight” here since a common criticism of astrology is that it predicts anything and everything from anything and everything. So, I am using tighter orbs. But, again, Pluto could be considered part of the mix, and the “Pluto Return” for the 1776 birth chart of the United States has begun, probably peaking about 2024.
The other leg has Uranus sesquiquadrate to Vesta. Uranus is in Taurus, and that is NOT a good place for it. Uranus (at home in Aquarius) is about change and, similar to Jupiter / Sagittarius, HATES to be restricted. Taurus is best symbolized by granite. Taurus is the ULTIMATE sign of “not changing.”
I have a dog born with Uranus in Taurus, and he is an interesting character. Frequently angry and temperamental, he is adorable and loving when he sleeps near me at night. He is a study in contrasts, and (to me) he is emblematic of Uranus in Taurus, unpredictable at times and prone to explosions yet endearing at other times.
Uranus is bad by itself, considered a “malefic” because of the disruptions it brings. (Some of these “disruptions,” however, are necessary breakthroughs.) Having Uranus in Taurus on one leg of a Thor’s Hammer, with Saturn in Aquarius (the home of Uranus!) on the other leg (and, therefore, squaring Uranus) is a NIGHTMARE.
Although Vesta will eventually move (and so will the other two, but S-L-O-W-L-Y), we have been dealing with this for some time. The good news is, wait, with this THERE IS NO F-ing GOOD NEWS. This is bad, just bad.
Your only hope is to, somehow, channel all that rage into something productive and helpful.
Otherwise, you’ll regret it! (Even worse, someone like me will be saying “I told you so.”)
Anything else? Quite a bit, but let’s look at the oppositions in play. Only a conjunction is a more “fundamental” aspect in astrology than the opposition. A full moon is an opposition of “the lights,” the Sun (the “Greater Light”) and the Moon (the “Lesser Light”).

The Nodes always oppose each other (mathematically impossible for them to NOT oppose each other), but the involvement of Juno tells us that some kind of karmic issue is facing wives in particular but also daughters and sisters and females in their roles as family members, particularly wives. This probably involves issues of trust.
The Nodes are in Gemini / Sagittarius, something we discussed in May of 2020 (last year); we will not dig into that again here.
Hygeia opposes Sun / Saturn, an aspect present in the other charts but not obvious. This tells us it is part of the mix, and it brings issues of health and healthcare into these patterns of irritation, anger, rage, and sometimes extreme behavior. We already know this from the issues of the pandemic, but sometimes confirmation is at least “interesting.”
Vesta opposes Neptune. Again, this opposition is somewhat obscured in the other charts. This might be the single most important aspect of all in this chart. For creatives, breakthroughs are possibly in poetry, photography, and videography, particularly involving traditions and other aspects of Vesta. (Strangely, Vesta also rules “kinky sex,” so some odd stories involving such might emerge, given that Neptune specializes in unmasking secrets. Also, the adult video industry may undergo some kind of major shifts or changes at this time.)
Vesta is also conjunct Denebola (refer to first chart). What does that mean? “Fixed star Denebola is of the nature of Saturn and Venus (slovenly, very immoral, shameless, revolting, mean, sorrows in love.) It gives swift judgment, despair, regrets, public disgrace, misfortune from the elements of nature, and happiness turned to anger, and makes its natives noble, daring, self-controlled, generous and busy with other people’s affairs.” Source: Astrology King: Fixed Star Denebola.
But, Neptune in this position converts the Thor’s Hammer. Just as a yod can be converted into a focused yod by a planet opposite the apex, here Neptune does the same thing, effectively creating a “Focused Thor’s Hammer.” As far as I can tell, no one has named the “Focused Thor’s Hammer” though a fair amount of discussion of the Thor’s Hammer pattern is beginning to circulate, such as this comment at the Aquarian Papers in 2014.

What does it mean? My guess is this: a few of us, creatives, will use this to produce brilliant expressions of breakthrough ideas. And, for the rest of us (maybe all of us), this is an opportunity to reveal (Neptune) our delusions and false thinking (also Neptune) about institutions (Neptune, and especially nursing homes and prisons at this time) and traditions (especially those of police and military).
We can have breakthroughs, but only if we do not let the anger lead us into regretful acts.

In all fairness, I have seen many Thor’s Hammer days that did not produce explosions, mine collapses, or school shooters. Regardless, they do seem to be difficult days. The marker does show up frequently with violence and explosions. Caution should be considered.

Using astrology to predict some kind of “global disaster” at this point seems superfluous. However, we note that the global death count has not exceeded that of 9/11 (as of this writing) nor reached typical annual influenza deaths (yet) nor come remotely close to that of automobile accidents (at least in the United States). We have yet to see what level of damage will result, but it could be that the worst part is a mix of panic and the economic harm that results.

“But, what does it mean?”
Juno is at the apex of the Thor’s Hammer, and at my location she is in the 12th house of “self-undoing,” institutions, drugs, alcohol, deceit, dreams, and illness. Hospitals are inherently 12th house organizations, arguably the classic 12th house organizations along with churches and monasteries and similar organization. Except for accidents and other trauma, many of us are born in such places and die in such places. The Coronavirus, Covid-19, is an agent of such energy.
Juno rules females in general but particularly in traditional female roles as wife, mother, daughter, sister, and aunt. It is also the indicator of betrayal, more specifically the betrayed wife who has been betrayed by the philandering husband (Jupiter). Jupiter is courts, universities and university professors, higher education, and foreign travel.
Juno in this position hints that “we,” the People, are in a position to be concerned about betrayal by courts, universities (and related “experts”), and foreign travel. While some might suspect the federal government and our current president (and that COULD be true), I am suspicious of state and (especially) local government for potential for deceit and abuse under these circumstances. A need for oversight along with checks and balances is imperative.
Who else is in this Thor’s Hammer? Mercury on one leg, which is about communications and transportation. Mercury also CAN be about deceit although that is not a certainty. The presence of Mercury here, among other things, emphasizes the importance of logistics (and the potential for abuse and theft).
On the other leg is Vesta, the asteroid associated with Vestal Virgins in particular. Since most of us do not have those any more, Vesta is about people who carry traditions: priests and associated, sometimes military and police in non-combat roles. Careful scrutiny of these parties will be necessary to confirm that theft and other misdeeds does not occur.
Thor’s Hammer: Explosions and School Shootings
That we have a “Thor’s Hammer” tells us that an “explosion” of some kind may result. We have written about the Thor’s Hammer many times before, associating it particularly with school shootings but also mining disasters and the Deepwater Horizon catastrophe, an explosion.
Fourth Harmonic Analysis: Astraea Oppositions and New Law
Following are versions of this chart with information for (1) Horary and Traditional practitioners and (2) Midpoint Trees. These charts are filtered to focus on fourth harmonic aspects (squares and oppositions). Note the oppositions of Astraea to Mars, Jupiter, and Saturn. Jude Cowell describes Astraea as “the goddess of Justice.” We agree, and this group of oppositions almost certainly heralds unprecedented lawsuits (and similar conflicts).
From the standpoint of attorneys and judges, expect “new law” to be made based on the events of this year. Similarly, legislatures will craft new statutes (Senate and Congress in the U.S., but, also, ALL legislatures on the planet).

Astrological Chart and Analysis for San Bernardino Shootings 2015-12-02

Astrological Chart and Analysis for San Bernardino Shootings 2015-12-02
We have been analyzing disasters and shootings less lately in favor of forecasts and similar analysis. Previously, we have produced a chart analysis for Adam Lanza, the West, TX Fertilizer plant explosion, the Orbital Sciences Antares Rocket explosion, the Philadelphia Amtrak wreck, the Marysville school shootings, and the Boston Marathon bombing. That said, we will provide a chart and preliminary analysis of the San Bernardino shootings on December 2, 2015. We note, also, that this attack comes only a few weeks after the massacre of 130 people in Paris by ISIS based terrorists.
Click here for our Calendar Page for Wednesday, December 2nd. The event occurred two days before perfection of Mercury square Jupiter, an amplifier of either good will or bad intent. For practical purposes, that aspect applies here. The event also occurred four days before perfection of Mars square Pluto, perhaps the most dangerous of all aspects, and, again, for practical purposes that aspect applies here. Saturn square Neptune, a very slow moving aspect that governs weeks and months, perfected for the first time (of three) on November 26th. Again, that is so close (Saturn has a 28 year orbit; Neptune a 160 year orbit), that it applies here. All of this, together, is a bit tough.

2015-11-03 Jupiter Opposite Chiron (Rosetta + Thor’s Hammer Key)

2015-11-03 Jupiter Opposite Chiron (Rosetta + Thor’s Hammer Key)
You have been feeling it at least for the last week or two, and you may have been feeling it since before the final Blood Moon Eclipse of the 2014/2015 Tetrad. It is Jupiter Opposite Chiron, and it is part of the mix associated with Jupiter Opposite Neptune and other aspects we talked about perfecting on September 17th of this year. It brings to a head key issues involving health and healthcare, or teaching and education, or mentoring and 1:1 collegial relationships; or some kind of mix of two or all three of those.
Today the aspect perfects. You may have already received the relevant (and critical news) last week or the week before. You may receive it in a few days. Often “nothing happens” on the day of the perfection of these critical outer planet turning points. But Jupiter has a twelve year orbit, and Chiron has a fifty year orbit, so your precise personal variant of how this affects you may not be “day of the perfection.” The “orbs” (boundary lines for events) of the Moon are hours long and based on a 28 day cycle. Since the same sized orbs (measured in degrees of a circle) are based on Chiron’s fifty year orbit, expect those “orbs” to last 365 x 2 (730) times as long. If we allow 2 hours on each side of the Moon’s orbs, then we should allow about 1,460 hours for Chiron, which translates to about sixty days (about two lunar months). Jupiter’s orbit is only twelve years, so the corresponding orbs should be about twelve days (half a lunar month).
THIS issue of “orbs” is why we keep referencing that pivotal date of September 17th (and also October 11th) as a turning point for the outer planet (“generational planet”) events through the end of the year. Chances are VERY good that you will NOT feel this perfection “day of” the event (unless it EXACTLY aspects some planet or point in your personal natal chart), but you WILL feel it in the two weeks prior or two weeks after (Jupiter’s orb, using the fastest moving planet and, therefore, the smallest and most precise window).
And, as an aside, if you look back to the days “near” September 17th (allowing some latitude due to Jupiter’s orbs), you will note an important turning point there. And, by “latitude” we mean this turning point could have been earlier, maybe on the 11th or 12, or later, maybe on the 21st or 22nd. But, you had a turning point, and you made a decision.
You made some important decision at that turning point. It may not have seemed important at the time, but, in hindsight, you will eventually see that it was the kind that changes the course of your life.
If you were a student, you may have decided to go play rather than prepare for an exam. You got in trouble with the exam. You were going to “pull it together.” But, now, you see that you cannot. You will fail out of school and will be working in a drive through asking “would you like fries with that.” Or, you might become a revolutionary like Bill Gates, Mark Zuckerberg, or Steve Jobs. Maybe the most important class you are taking will turn out to be calligraphy. (See, also: this story.)
You do have some choice in the matter. The planets in the sky are invariant, but your personal, individual decisions are not.
Or maybe you did the work. And, if you can push through, do what it takes in this final window of November and December, you can have both a successful semester and a breakthrough. You can show yourself “you can do it.” It depends on the decisions you made and the necessary followup actions you took. And, as Steve Jobs said, some day you can look back and “connect the dots” if you follow your heart “even if it takes you off the well worn path.”
Or maybe you are an older adult who did, or did not, see a physician. Depending on your situation, you can see where things may be going with your health and healthcare.
And if September 17th was not the turning point, then surely the days surrounding the Focused Yod associated with the perfection of Jupiter Trine Pluto on October 11th were. Focused Yods are all about not only making decisions but taking the necessary action to accomplish the results.
So, what is “it” that you will feel as this aspect perfects? We re-iterate: some key point involving education, healthcare, or mentoring. Since Jupiter ALSO rules the legal system, this could involve the law and possible lawsuits. But, the key issues will be education and healthcare (Chiron). We see all of this tied into the current political debates. And, as an aside, Jupiter ALSO rules foreign relations (particularly ambassadors) and, therefore, issues of immigration. Think about it: these are the key issues of our current political climate. (Health (“Obamacare”), Education, Foreign Relations (Middle East, China, et al), and Immigration (particularly Mexico and points south).
So, here is the chart, which is filtered for the Rosetta (short term allegiances) which was present and continues to be present for the next few days. Being a longer term pattern, it is almost certainly the most important pattern in the perfection of this aspect:

We also see a Thor’s Hammer present. Actually, we see TWO of them in a configuration that we have previously named a “Thor’s Hammer Key.” The presence of TWO patterns almost always means, in astrology, two or MORE situations involving that pattern (here the Thor’s Hammer associated with impulsive actions, extreme conflict, and people like Adam Lanza). As many of you can “guess” from the situation in the Middle East (specifically Syria but other problems also) and Eastern Europe (the ongoing Russia / Ukraine conflict), we live in dangerous time.

At this point, some of you may ask: how do I use this “energy.” The answer is to enjoy your short term allegiances knowing either you may never see them again or they may turn treacherous if you do, and to avoid rash and impulsive actions and people while focusing your attention (and possibly your anger) to “get something (useful, and non-violent) done.”
As an aside, as we have said before, people who have violence and physical altercations woven into their life (soldier, police, boxers, MMA athletes, bar room bouncers) may actually BENEFIT from this kind of pattern. But, if you are not one of those kind of people, best to avoid them (or people or situations that invoke their presence) if you can.
We do not see particularly significant patterns in 5th harmonic or 7th harmonic aspects in this chart. So, no brainstorms or karma issues to work through. This is all about temporary allegiances and doing the work to get the job done (without being angry or impulsive).
New Moon and Winters Solstice of December 2014

The New Moon of December 21st has five planets (Sun, Moon, Mercury, Pluto, and Venus) and an asteroids (Vesta) in Capricorn. This collective is square to Uranus, Astraea, and the South Node (all in Aries). Uranus and Pluto are square less than one degree apart (15 minutes) having recently completed the exact square on December 14th. The level of emotion, most likely in the form of anxiety or anger, will likely be at fever pitch. Violence is possible, even likely. Arguments are nearly certain.
Capricorn moons are notoriously unforgiving at best. Both Hitler and Adam Lanza had Moon in Capricorn in their birth chart. (Researching this article, we found this fun link.)

We note that Saturn is in the final degree of Scorpio in both charts. This particular time is likely best spent in solitude planning for the new year. Another good use might be in something productive such as sculpting in clay. (Avoid use of sharp tools to sculpt due to the potential for injury.) The possibility exists that a skilled healer MIGHT could help a group work through negative emotions at this time.

Grand Cross of Feb 17/18 2014

Things could go BOOM! this week.
Different events have been signaling the kinds of strained relations and flaring tempers that can be associated with the Grand Cross formation of 2014. February 17/18 will show us the first alignment of the group (foreshadowing the Alignment of April 20th).
The above chart is indicated as the “beginning” by Solar Fire, but the alignment has been “beginning” for some months (years?) now. Given that this is an outer planet chart and that it really governs (at least) the two 24 hour periods of Feb 17 and Feb 18, a chart of a “moment” may be questionable. Regardless, here is the above data cast in “beginner” chart format under Solar Fire:
A bit more interesting is a chart that emerges the following morning (during rush hour for CST / EST):
Retrograde Mercury, Sun, Neptune and Chiron are all in the 12th house in this chart; Saturn, North Node, Ceres, Vesta, and Mars are in the 8th house. Moon has perfected a square to Jupiter and opposition to Uranus (forming a T-Square). Hard to say, but we think this will be an “interesting” period, particularly for geography experiencing rush hour.
A grand trine follows on the 20th / 21st and Thor’s Hammers as well. We should see an interesting week.
This appears to primarily affect the time period of rush hour on Thursday. However, since it is primarily an outer planet alignment (Jupiter and Uranus with Saturn at the apex!), it really affects the days (and maybe weeks) preceding and following the alignment. Frankly, it looks like a bit of a rough week. (Adam Lanza’s birth chart had a Thor’s Hammer. So did the chart for the Fukishima earthquake and tsunami in 2011.) Some things might go boom.

So, what does this mean?
It means that we have decisions to make, and no matter what we choose we find that we are uncomfortable with it. We have false hopes for outcomes and are inevitably disappointed. But, even worse, this pattern keeps repeating, hammering us with Karma that just will not go away. It is as if the Universe does not care whether or not we learned the lesson, we are doomed to continue to repeat. “OK, I got it already!” does not seem to work here.
Frankly, it looks like a rather unpleasant period.
Once again, I hope that I am wrong.
If you are comparing this sequence to other periods, take a look at the Stretched Pentagram of January 26th. Collectively, we turned an important corner on that date. (I cannot tell you exactly WHAT happened, but I know something did. It may not “show” itself until the Year of the Black Water Snake is over.) My best guess is that it might involve the Tornado Outbreak shortly after that pattern culminated.
We also note that a similar kind of formation of yods occurred on December 14, the day of the Newtown shootings by Adam Lanza.
Hopefully nothing that awful will happen with these configurations.
Mass Murder Spreadsheet

Something has come to light that is a major insight into the shooter at Newtown: he planned the event for years. In fact, he developed a large and complex spreadsheet tracking the activities of other serial killers and mass murderers. Apparently the spreadsheet was developed from the perspective of a video gamer.

Astrological Analysis of Sandy Hook Shooting Victims as a Group

Someone asked at some point after the Sandy Hook shootings if I had thought about analyzing the victims. Adam Lanza had been treated as fully as I could without a birth time here. (Actually, I had other analysis, too. But, that is the most comprehensive one. See, also, this analysis.)
The tool that I am using is called Jigsaw. I recommend it if you want to perform an astrological analysis of groups. The source of my data can be found here, except for Lauren Rousseau, whose date of birth I found elsewhere.
With a group of school children, I expect the generational planets (outer planets, not counting Mars) to essentially the same, so I have focused on the personal planets (inner planets + Mars). Since we only have birth dates, and not birth times, I have omitted any analysis of ascendants or the Moon.
Although I had originally planned to NOT include Adam Lanza, I changed my mind for several reasons. One is numerological: without him the total number of victims (or deaths, if you prefer) is 26, an 8. And, in Western Numerology 8 is incomplete. (Some eastern systems hold 8 to be complete. However, I do not use eastern systems in my analysis, except Chinese years to a very limited degree.) Adding Adam creates a count of 27, and this a 9 (which is complete). (Of course, in some eastern systems, 8 is considered to be a holy number (like 12 to Christians), and 9 is unlucky (like 13 to Christians). Feel free to pick the interpretation that works best for you.)
Furthermore, even though he was the shooter, he was arguably a victim. I will not belabor the point here.
Here is the analysis, starting with a tabulation of raw data, then a polar graph of that same data, and finally a bar chart of the data. Again, the data is Sun, Mercury, Venus, and Mars by sign for the group of 27.

I have taken the liberty to highlight the two signs that clearly dominate: Taurus and Cancer.

One can easily spot the dominance of Cancer here along with the strong Taurus / Scorpio polarity. Capricorn is absent, and Leo / Aquarius is attenuated.

Note that I have circled the glyph for Capricorn. Capricorn is absent from this data, and nearly absent from the all of the Sun / Mercury / Venus / Mars data. Aquarius is also reduced; both are co-ruled by Saturn in traditional rulerships. We note that Saturn (planet of tests, trials and tribulations) had recently entered Scorpio (sign of death and rebirth) and was in mutual reception with Pluto (planet of death and rebirth) in Capricorn (sign of tests, trials and tribulations).
Furthermore, if you re-examine the chart here, you will note that we concluded that Adam Lanza almost certainly had Moon in Capricorn, along with Uranus and Neptune. Activated by transiting Pluto as described in the earlier post, and the particularly malefic New Moon that immediately preceded the shooting, his Moon, Uranus, and Neptune opposed a significant proportion of (the rest of) the group.
The Capricorn / Cancer polarity was of critical importance in this particular storm. We note, also, that the Taurus / Scorpio polarity was important, along with the fact that Adam Lanza was a solar Taurus.
Regarding aspects, the Square was the most frequent aspect in this group. Semi-Square and Sesqui-Square were also in the top four. Refer to the following bar chart, Figure 4:

Squares, semi-squares, and sesqui-squares all “energize” situations. They tend to be drivers of violence (when expressed in the “low form.”)
Jigsaw provides an interpretative report. I will not reproduce the entire report here because the material is copyrighted. However, certain pieces of the interpretative report stand out, and I will provide them here as part of my critique and review of both the data and how the program analyzes this data.
Two of the teachers are described as “Neptune” people who are peripheral to the group. (And, we note that one of them did not have her full birth data included in the original listing of the group, only added later elsewhere.)
Neptune is contributed by:
25. Lauren Rousseau at 25°Sg54′ (Orb 0°33′)
3. Rachel Davino at 27°Sg08′ (Orb 1°48′)
The Neptune-person moves at the edge of the Play/Peer group, living in their own world, having an existence separate to the group.
Not a surprising analysis for two teachers of six and seven year old children. We would expect them to be on the edge of the group and watching. But, how did a computerized astrology program pick that out from their birth dates? Next, the program offers this:
There are 3 group members who fit into this pattern only with other points or wider orbs.
These people do not fit into the main pattern.
First is the principal, Dawn Hochsprung:

The Venus-person helps the Play/Peer group to understand life. They do this by giving meaning to cycles, rhythms and patterns, showing how the members of the group are in rhythm with the cosmos, or have a place in the larger world. They promote calmness in the group.
Second is Victoria Soto, the incredibly heroic teacher who put the children in a closet and shielded them from the gunman with her own body. She is also a Neptune person, as were the two previously mentioned teachers, but Jigsaw sees her as different. (She was!) Part of the description of all of the teachers includes this:
They may be the one who reads the others’ dreams, and are attuned to omens; or they may be the artist within a group of intellectuals. If the group can accept that it is part of its own nature to contain this energy, then all members will have the opportunity of being touched by the mystical or the mysterious.
What better description of an idealistic young teacher working with children. What better description of a hero certain to die?
And, finally, Jigsaw identifies Adam Lanza as being the third “different” person from the group:
27. Adam Lanza contributes North Node at 03°Cp50′ (Orb 8°30′)
Play/Peer groups often do not have a Node-person, or if they do, the group does not remain a Play/Peer group for long.
The North Node is associated with “karma” or “fate.” The Jigsaw analysis did get one thing wrong, and it regards Adam Lanza:
Thus they change the group, not by force or drama, but by the simple action of bringing in new people, and redirecting the focus of the group.
He brought in new people. (Police officers, reporters….) And he changed the focus of the group. But, sadly, he used force, deadly force, to achieve his results.

I woke up early this morning with these words in my head. They came to me nearly fully formed, with almost no editing necessary.
We are defined by our Enigmas
We are defined by our Enigmas. And one of the great enigmas of our time is that of the madman on a rampage. It consumes us and cheats us of time best spent elsewhere.
We obsess, and we fret. What could we have done? Would “gun control” have helped? We like soft and easy answers. Surely that would have helped. We could pass a new law: only licensed policemen could have guns.
But what if Nancy Lanza had succumbed to a sudden illness? Adam Lanza might have moved in with his uncle, a police officer. Again, he would have had access to weapons.
Had he lived with a family in the construction business, he might have used explosives and harmed far more people. When tragedy strikes, we rarely pause to think that it could have been worse.
Had he been “radicalized” by a group that advocates violence and recruits the disenfranchised, he might have become a suicide bomber.
We would call him a “terrorist” instead of a “school shooter” and somehow think he was different in a meaningful way.
Putting the evil in the object, whether guns or bombs, is a risky thing because it rarely cures the problem.
Maybe we could spend more money on mental health. We could. We could make certain that people receive mental health “regardless of level of income.” But, “regardless of level of income” has become a euphemism for poverty in the United States.
And that means that kids from middle class and wealthy families, like Adam Lanza, paradoxically “fall through the cracks.” Adam himself was barely a step from homeless. But his family had so much money that he would have never qualified for any of these special programs. And that, again, leaves us with a madman on a rampage.
The idea that middle class and wealthy families will step forward to help their mentally ill family members is an old lie.
Ask anyone who has worked in the mental health field for at least a few years and you will find out the truth. Most families cannot handle the burden and eventually abandon the suffering family member. But, the politicians can always sell us the same old well-worn lies that “sound good.”
And that means the problem is never addressed.
The most disturbing thought of all is that there is no solution. Maybe the way that we have built our society transforms some of our best and brightest into fragile and unemployable young adults who have nowhere to turn when they break down. And that, inevitably, leaves us with a madman on a rampage.
Liza Long can tell you how things really are.
But, the biggest engima of all is the question of why do we we keep defining ourselves in terms of losses? We focus on the rampage of the madman, and we cheat ourselves of the awareness of the windows of opportunity that can exist in almost any situation.
As we move forward from this tragedy, we need to remember the words of Robert F. Kennedy:
There are those who look at things the way they are, and ask why… I dream of things that never were, and ask why not?
Enigmatically, Robert F. Kennedy died because of a madman on a rampage.
Update: Maybe this might make a difference. (It is a petition to “address the shortcomings of the current mental health system to prevent at-risk people from becoming violent offenders.”)
