2016-05 W21: Forecasts for Week 21 of 2016

Archive of Week 20 (W20)

We are the end of May and a series of retrogrades including Mercury Retrograde that has been with us for a few weeks (to a few months, depending on which retrograde we are talking about) will be ending.  Jupiter has moved direct, and Mercury Retrograde stations direct now.  Direct movement will be slow, and we will be in the “shadow” for a bit, but now is a good time to start launching truly new projects as opposed to reviewing and resurrecting old ones.

Those old projects either proved to be a good idea “after all” or they did not.  If they are good, stick with them and grow them.  But, if not, put them back on hold or discard them altogether.  The time is at hand to look at new things and new ideas.

The Taurus New Moooon perfected on May 6th, and we have a Full Moon (Sagittarius Moon / Gemini Sun) on May 21st (a day after Sun moves into Gemini).  Let’s be clear: for better or worse, “things” will change with this lunation and the accompanying Mercury direct station.

School is out, and has been out, for most students, and that particular weekend (May 21/22) marks the true beginning of “summer” for anyone who follows the academic year.  But astrological summer, the official beginning of “summer,” does not begin until the Summer Solstice on June 20th (which also has another full moon).  The retrograde station of Chiron on June 27th and direct station of Mars on June 29th will mark another significant shift.  We will cover these events in more detail as they near, but keep in mind these critical dates as you set plans for vacations, trips, meetings, and so forth.

May 2016 (Mars Out)

Week 21 (W21)

Sunday May 15th

Moon joins Jupiter in early morning hours (circa 3 AM CDT) and emphasizes the Grand Earth Trine that dominates the day.  For most people, this is a “feel good” day though earth and water signs benefit most.  Jim Shawvan notes an Opportunity Period for most of the day, and we agree.  Do keep in mind that Mercury is still retrograde (as are several other planets), so either avoid doing anything “too serious” or focus on older “on hold” projects that need to relaunch.  Much CAN be accomplished today, if that is your intent, but you must choose the right projects and keep in mind that some aspects may need to be revisited after Mercury retrograde ends (May 22nd) and possibly later this summer.

Monday May 16th

The opportunity period ends early and Moon is void until half past noon CDT.  Some people see yesterday’s window vanish and wonder “what happened?”  But you are smarter than that because you read these forecasts, right?  You did take complete advantage of yesterday’s window and leave nothing undone until today, didn’t you?

If not, no worry, other windows will open again “some day.”  But “getting things done” is tougher today than Sunday, and today just might have to be a cleanup day.

Tuesday May 17th

We face a decision today, a rather “loose” and open yod that dominates the afternoon.  You must make a decision, and we cannot tell you which path to pick except to pick one and do not look back.  You will be tempted to wonder “what might have been” if you had picked the other path.  Do not waste time doing that; it would not have been any better.

Wednesday May 18th

Accomplish what you can in the early morning; a loose T-Square will give you the “juice” to do that if you can focus yourself.  After a bit past 10 AM the Moon turns void and most of the rest of the day is best spent in review, cleaning house, or as a “day off.”  Do keep in mind that taking a “day off” midweek can be a good idea every so often.

Thursday May 19th

To be frank, this is a rather strange day.  Some people will have rather remarkable opportunities, truly gifts, come to them, but it does require intense work of some kind.  The “work” may be entirely focused on addressing your emotions in certain situations or it may be actual work: doing bookkeeping or conducting an experiment or some other kind of research.  Some people, as well, will be “losers” and this will be a bad day for them.

Health and educational issues will tend to come to the forefront.

This last full day of Taurus has a feeling of “fate” to it for many of us.

Friday May 20th

Sun moves into Gemini early Friday morning, and just in case you did not get the message yesterday, change is afoot.  Things are about to become different, very different, for some people (if they have not already).  The Full Moon is tomorrow (Saturday) and Mercury stations direct on Sunday.  Windows you thought would never close are now gone forever, but others will open.  Such is life.

Saturday May 21st

The Full Moon today gives us a glimpse of the future but with a few pieces missing.  Today is a very important day for some people.  Casual meetings that are supposed to be “fun” turn out to be critically important turning points.  Some people will meet their “life partner” today and it will seem like both and “accident” and “fate” at the same time!  Be assured that universe becomes “unlocked” for some people, and they are able to do certain things that transcend the ordinary.

For others, today will seem massively chaotic and like a day best spent at home.  Fire and air signs tend to prosper; unenlightened variants of earth and water wonder what happened to the window that was open this past Sunday.  Be assured that you will see even more change with tomorrow’s Mercury direct station and the events of next week.

Full Moon 2016-05-21 (Grand Cross, Kite, Hele, and Thor’s Hammer)

This Full Moon marks an important turning point.  The FM perfects on the 21st, the day before Mercury Direct Station on the 22nd.  And, the FM is in the “too early to tell” parts of Sagittarius and Gemini.  That means that more will be revealed to us, particularly if you are a Sagittarius or Gemini.

Because of the presence of a Grand Cross, with Astraea in Virgo and Pallas in Pisces, that same admonishment applies to Virgo and Pisces as well.  If you are Sagittarius, Gemini, Virgo, or Pisces, then you about to receive a major surprise, most likely a beneficial one, but nevertheless a surprise.

Here is the Full Moon (FM), filtered for the Grand Cross:

Full Moon in Sagittarius, May 21st, 2016, 2:14pm Pacific.
This Full Moon is conjunct Mars Retrograde in Sagittarius. Ordinarily this brings impatience and temper tantrums, but Sag’s ruler Jupiter is currently in Virgo – giving us some restraint, maturity and focus on self care.

Sagittarius is the sign of the Centaur, Archer, Wild Horse and Wounded Healer. What are you aiming at? This full moon is about reviewing the goals you set for yourself at the Spring Equinox, March 21st. Or write some goals down on paper. It’s good to maintain focus with all the wild energy flying around this year. I bet the Preakness will be an exciting race on Saturday! Horse energy rules.

The Sun entered Gemini today at 7:36am Pacific. Gemini is ruled by the planet Mercury, which is currently motionless in the skies above us; preparing to turn Direct on Sunday the 22nd at 6:20am. Stay away from…

Journey to the Center of the Mind

Gemini 6

The Sun has just entered Gemini and, in my continuing efforts to give you some information on each sign, I find the duality of this sign particularly interesting.

If you’ve been reading each of the articles I’ve written on the 11 preceding signs, you’ve noticed that some of them have myths behind them while others have little or no mythological significance attached to them. Gemini is one of those signs. In Egypt, it was known as “The Two Stars”. It took its name from the stars Castor and Pollux, the brightest stars in the constellation; also known as Hercules and Apollo, and Triptolemus and iasion.

As with all the signs, there are positive and negative traits portrayed by the energies of Gemini. From the positive perspective, Gemini energies and people can be adaptable, versatile, intellectual – with a flair for languages and writing, logical, witty, spontaneous, talkative; always youthful and…

Mercury retrograde in Taurus from 29 April – 23 May 2016

Mars retrograde in Sagittarius from 18 April – 30 June 2016

Saturn retrograde in Sagittarius from 25 March – 13 August 2016

Pluto retrograde in Capricorn from 18 April – 27 September 2016

Jupiter in Virgo has gone direct as of a few days ago, but also gave us a retrograde influence amongst the above planets from 8 January – 10 May 2016

We have four planets all in retrograde motion, and we recently had five planets in retrograde! That is seriously a lot of planets in retrograde happening all at once! So, what is retrograde and what does it mean for you?

When a planet goes ‘retrograde’, it first appears stationary and then moves backwards in motion, decreasing in degrees over time. Planetary retrogrades take the normal energy associated with that planet and turn it inwards. It is…

Geminis make good proof readers, accountants, clerks, bookkeepers, office workers… It’s as if the computer was invented just for you!   So, write that code and keep those records – others depend on you.

You have your place in history – Versaille France was ruled by the two faced god Janus… the message for you is ‘don’t forget to look at both side of the story’.  Get out and enjoy the weekends, tear yourself away from that computer and remember that a conversation requires some listening time too.

It is interesting that transiting Venus with Mercury close behind has the Part of Fortune following, showing that this birthday month for the well aspected Gemini, could mean success in love.  It will be cerebral and you will like it… and they might be wealthy, or at least sufficient.  So, make a date, get out of the office or from behind that screen and…

Moon Approaching Mars – Full Moon in Sagittarius

May 20, 2016 at 8:43 pm | Posted in Astrology | Comments Off on Moon Approaching Mars – Full Moon in Sagittarius

Aiyanna Lynn - Inspired Life | Welcome to Avalon

Moon is in the depths of intense, take no prisoners Scorpio, headed for a meet-up with warrior Mars (retrograde) in fiery, truth seeking Sagittarius and an opposition to the sun in information junkie Gemini at the Full Moon on Saturday the 21st at 2:14PM PDT.

Have you had an emotionally intense week? If the answer is yes, then you may already be feeling the intensity of what is possible at this month’s full moon. Moon and Mars will be within one degree of one another and will form connections to wounded healer Chiron and the South Node in Pisces. Healing is possible, but for many, stuff is going to be stirred up. When Mars gets into the mix, he asks us to take action, and when Moon is involved, you can bet you are going to FEEL something, and that something is likely to be close to home, feel personal…

Mother Earth Father Sun

full moon 20160522 sagittarius smaller text

The nature of a full moon is such that we have a stand-off of masculine energy (Sun) with feminine energy (Moon) as these two directly oppose each other. The signs in which the Moon and the Sun confront each other determine the aspects of our lives and society to be influenced, and the full moon aspect compared to the natal chart determines the degree of impact on us.

This full moon could take folks by surprise. Often, people feel the lunar energy as the full moon builds, but this full moon has the Sun at 1 degree Gemini opposite the Moon at 1 degree Sagittarius, so you may only feel the energy as the Moon transits from Scorpio to Sagittarius a couple of hours before the precise aspect.

Though the Moon always involves the emotions and the subconsciousness, the Sagittarius full moon generally does not take us into dark places…
