mercuryOn April 28, Mercury stations retrograde in Taurus, joining Mars, Jupiter, Saturn and Pluto in this backwards phase. With so many planets currently retrograde, many of us are definitely feeling the funk; fuzzy brained, slow motion reality, indecisiveness and a general feeling of discontentment with life.  There may be a sensation that we have been here before, as we find ourselves reviewing, re-doing and revisiting themes from the last several months.

Mercury retrograde is an Earthly “optical illusion” where Mercury appears to be moving backwards, for 3 weeks, 3 times a year. During these times, one may notice “things” of a mercurial nature tend to go a bit awry.

As Mercury rules communication, we may find issues arise in all the many forms we use to communicate today, as well as with all those we communicate with. Mercury retrograde will affect everyone differently, however those who have strong Virgo, Gemini…

Do you feel like things have been a little out of wack? Does it feel like any goals you have been trying to accomplish lately feel a bit like “pulling teeth”?  If you said yes, you are probably experiencing the effects of Mercury in Retrograde.
I don’t plan my life around astrology at all, BUT I do pay attention to certain big changes and mercury retrograde is one of them. It has a serious impact and when I pay attention to it, things run much smoother.
What does this mean?  This mercury retrograde is aligned as a time of reflection. A time to re-do, re-think, re-plan, pretty much any “re” action. This is a time to stay clear of making any major decisions, changes, or purchases as it will end up being a total nightmare. Impatient?  Trust me!  This is a time where patience really is a virtue. Use this…

Yep! Definitely feeling these five retrograde planets, and I know others are, too. If things keep pushing your inner WTF button, then this post might add some perspective. 🙂

Five Planets Retrograde – Time to Clean House and Power Up

by Dana Mrkich

For the first time in a decade, we have 5 planets retrograde at the same time. You might be reading a lot about how this time is all about pausing and not being able to get much done, but actually, from a Soul perspective, this is going to be a hugely productive time. Whenever a planet goes retrograde, it offers an opportunity to review, re-visit, remember, re-wire, re-do, re-claim, release.

Imagine a building that had an original blueprint of glorious architecture, stunning interior design, unique features. But over time, we see the effects of wear and tear, of outside influence, of other people’s contributions. Bricks have been…

Seven Cups Mystic

FullSizeRender 2Every time Mercury retrograde comes around (about three times a year) you will hear people talking about how your computer is going to malfunction and communication will be muddled.  It seems people will blame Mercury retrograde on just about anything these days.  There is even a website solely dedicated to whether or not Mercury is in retrograde – click here to check it out.

So I’m not going to say that you should always ignore a Mercury Retrograde and not worry about signing contracts or purchasing a house around that time.  But what I am saying is that certain circumstances will provide you with more insight into whether a specific Mercury retrograde will effect you or not.

First, is your natal Mercury in retrograde?  If you are not sure click here  and look to see if there is an R in the column next to Mercury.  If you were born…

Mercury Retrograde and Mandela lives on

Insights

As Mercury comes to a retrograde station again this week on 28 April, the Winged Messenger slows to his point of stagnation at an interesting time in history.

Mercury retrograde in TaurusMercury stations now in Taurus, where he will enjoy his retrograde pastimes for the next 3 weeks until May 22. And curiously South Africa, as a nation celebrates its Independence day or birthday the day before the station, on April 27, making it originally a Taurus country by birth. And that seems to align with the mood and spirit of the country as an agricultural and mining hub of Africa, with the most leisurely bureaucratic pace one could imagine, like a heavy cow, strolling to its destination with all the time in the world – “African time”, they call it. Similar to “Indian time”…. “just now coming”, “now now”. So the slowing down of Mercury now could really exacerbate the sluggish pace…

So what is Mars Retrograde?

A planet goes into retrograde when it appears to slow in the night sky, stop, and then go backwards. It isn’t actually going backwards in the astronomical sense; it just looks like that because of the particular way Earth is placed in relation to whichever planet.  In this case, Mars.

Astrologically, the most basic explanation is that anything that Mars governs will slow down, stop and go backwards also. Anyone governed by a sign that Mars rules (i.e Scorpio) will feel the effects most, anyone with Scorpio or Sagittarius well represented in their birth chart and anyone who has their Mars in Scorpio (i.e, me) will also get the shorter end of the stick.

However, whenever any planet goes retrograde, you actually benefit from it if you stop fighting the energy. You need to tap into the energy and learn the lessons available to you…

Sun trine Jupiter: Faith

April 26, 2016 at 1:59 pm | Posted in Astrology | Comments Off on Sun trine Jupiter: Faith

Astrology

faith

Just when you thought all is lost, the clouds disappear and golden light streams through.

Having faith it’s going to work out is hard at times, and that’s when the Sun-Jupiter factor kicks in.

Jupiter is the great benefic of zodiac, uplifting and having the vision that’s large enough to see through troubled times. It’s easy to get stuck in the everyday view of life that only sees what’s in front. Jupiter rises above and sees far and wider, seeing the big picture. Aligning with the Sun, it’s easier than most other times to have that faith.

Both are in the earth signs, Sun in Taurus and Jupiter in Virgo promising concrete results, even if in the long run.
