The Slow Dance of the Capricorn New Moon

This little birch Moon

is slipping out into dark

night, stepping away

from the lights and music

of the bustling cabin.

When the Moon

has her darkness,

she takes it in silence.

Going out she leans against

the great dark tree,

and looks straight up,

as she recalls

how she sailed

in that tree top

as a full and flying moon.

Moon feels the bark

against her tired spine.

In the dark,

and all alone, by herself,

she gives birth

to the next little Moon

As I write this, the waning Birch Moon is slipping away and a new Moon of Rowan is about to be born.

This new Moon will teach us how to dance to earthy Capricorn. Sun, Moon, Pluto, Mercury and the asteroid Pallas…

There’s a lovely New Moon at 19 Cap 13 exact at 7:31pm current Chicago time. New Moon trines Jupiter at 23 Virgo retrograde and the North Node at 25 Virgo. This could bring fortunate connections or ideas from the past; but, make no firm commitments yet – as Jupiter is opposite Chiron at 17 Pisces.

Chiron, the wounded healer and the bridge between Saturn and Uranus is the one who brings luck, love, and magic into your life. Chiron at 17 Pisces is sextile this New Moon at 19 Cap and Pluto at 15 Cap is sextile to Chiron. This bodes well for big money, the powerful, and the governments – also for those who have a money planet at this degree (unless other factors in your chart contradict this). “New Moon” Alert

Saturday night the Moon aligns with the Sun harmoniously, both in Capricorn. This starts the first New Moon of 2016. This a great time to go within and set seeds of “powerful intentions”, around what you’d like to accomplish over the next 28 days…put that energy out to the Universe, to the God of your understanding, the Angels, whatever it is you believe in. Or just throw the energy out to the New Moon, so it can bring you what you deeply desire.

Capricorn at its finest is all about development of self and learning how to take responsibility, being resourceful and reliable, and achieving self-mastery over our emotions…having the ability to set realistic goals and healthy boundaries.
