On September 6, Venus which had been retrograde since the end of August finally stationed direct. The last 6-8 weeks have been quite an emotional ride for many, as Venus’ backwards journey likely provoked us to re-evaluate our relationships to the people and things we love most, our finances and our values. As relieving as it is to have Venus, moving forward again, with all that has happened and shifted over the past month and a half, we now find ourselves in a period in which we must learn to adjust and commit to the changes we’ve decided to make.

Early in the morning on Sunday September 13, the Sun and Moon will make their monthly alignment, placing us in the lunar phase of the New Moon. Though it will not be visible to those of us in the Northern hemisphere, this is one of the more special New Moons…

It’s happy days for Virgo natives, especially on Saturday when The Moon will be Conjunct Jupiter in Virgo at 1.46 pm, and so creating a swell of feel-good emotion.  Other Earth (Capricorn, Taurus) and also Water (Pisces, Cancer, Scorpio) signs, especially those born in the first 10 days of their sign, will also benefit by Trine (Earth) and Sextile (Water) from the positive energy created by our Moon Jupiter duo.  But don’t feel left out if you are ruled by Air (Gemini, Libra, Aquarius) or Fire (Aries, Leo, Sagittarius), because this energy will deliver something of benefit for all. Some will be surprised with generous gifts that will touch the heart.  Others may simply enjoy the uplifting freedom of being out in nature, feeling the sun on their face and the general feeling that life is good.

This retrograde occurs in a few days, though many of us already feel the energy affecting us.

This energy feels stronger, more intense; and I feel this energy will affect those sensitive or those prone to depression in a profound way.

Retrogrades bring remembrances……..past hurts, wounds, heartaches…….

That, together with such sadness in the air with September 11th, might cause those who pick up energy around them to absorb a burden of sadness, grief, and hurt.

Retrogrades enable us to ponder the past, so when it revisits our doorway, we can recognize its knock and only open the doorway a tiny bit……………

One of the basic tenets of Hellenistic astrology is the idea of sect.  Ancient astrologers believed that the astrological behavior of a visible planet varies with whether the native is born during the daytime or at night, that is, when the sun is either above or below the horizon.

The idea is that the sun rules the daylight hours and that the larger visible planets Saturn and Jupiter perform better in a day (diurnal) chart than in a night chart. In a similar way, the Moon rules the night and the smaller visible planets Mars and Venus do better when the native is born at night with the sun below the horizon. In this scheme little Mercury is neutral and his sect depends on when he rises before the sun (and is thus diurnal) or after the sun (and is thus nocturnal).  In other words, Mercury’s sect depends of who gets up…

Sun Opposite Chiron 2015-09-12

Essentially, this aspect occurs in the “Dark of the Moon,” a good time to clean things out and reflect on what has happened in the past with an eye for your goals in the future.  The New Moon of September 13th (a Solar Eclipse) follows the next day, and “things change.”

Grace still abounds through 14 September, which is good because we’re being Challenged with some Very Basic Issues.

The Grace allows us to Act to Take Responsibility to Integrate new information into a reorganization of who we Believe ourselves to Be.  Such a reorg can be very Painful, as it frequently feels like Ego Death.  That is, it Feels like “I am dying!” while what’s really happening is that “I(my Identity) am (dying) being Reborn.”  Plus, the parts of ourself that we’re Integrating are likely to be the parts which till now we’ve Rejected most vigorously (usually on the “advice” of others).  So the Grace is a real Gift.  You may want to make a list of the most damning adjectives you could possibly apply to a person, and check to see if any of those qualities are hidden in the back of your own closet. …
