When I’m writing a dark scene for a novel or story, nothing sets the atmosphere like a bit of creepy classical music. One of my most popular blog posts of all time is “Top Ten Pieces of Classical Music to Listen to on a Dark and Stormy Night,” but there are a lot more than ten pieces of horrific classical music. That’s why I compiled this second list of ten more pieces to add to your collection. Ranging from intense and apocalyptic to mystical and eerie, these pieces set the mood for a bit of reading, horror movie soundtracks, or just a night in front of the fireplace with ghosts roaming behind you.

There is a lot of planetary activity this week leading up to the New Moon at 21 Leo on Friday August 14.
Jupiter will enter the sign of Virgo on Tuesday the 11th and will transit through this sign for a year or so. In general it is a good time for thinking about service to the world and to others, for initiatives related to improving health and evolving your belief system. It is wise to watch out for a tendency to be overly critical or overly focused on perfection.

Thursday the ongoing Saturn/Pluto semi square is exact. This is a long term influence and concerns effecting change and transformation. There can be tension and frustration and it bodes well not to push too hard now but be patient and acknowledge incremental steps…

Over a decade ago, someone decided to mention that since Mars was going to be at its closest to Earth, it would be as bright as the Moon. Or something along that line. Oooops. I always appreciate the creativity of the graphics people, making these images. Just wish they’d put a wink or some j/k hint on the photo. If it generates someone to study more astronomy or other scientific field, great, that serves a purpose. Otherwise, stop the hoax circulation, people. Peace to all of us.

JUPITER enters VIRGO onAug 11, for one year and one month. 

The Mentor Archetype, energetic representation of the largest planet in our Solar System, JUPITER, points us to our opportunities for growth, expansion, understanding, and wealth on all levels, and guides us to find our path of wisdom and happiness.

With an ‘attitude of gratitude’, abundance consciousness, generosity, and a good sense of humour, life (esp. in the areas /astrological houses that are represented by the celestial position of ‘our’ Jupiter) offers indeed a bounty of supply. But quantity doesn’t necessarily equate quality…

The shadow sides of Jupiter are excess, extravagance, arrogance, hubris, and an overbearing demeanour of ‘knowing better’ or moralizing.
