Mercury Retrograde in Gemini 2015
May 18, 2015 at 9:30 pm | Posted in Astrology | Comments Off on Mercury Retrograde in Gemini 2015Mercury goes Retrograde May 18th until June 11th. Mercury is at home in the sign of Gemini but out of its element when squaring Neptune as it began to do on May 9th, will revisit May 28th, and for a third time moving forward June 23rd. Things can seem so hazy and confusing with Mercury in hard aspect to Neptune that it is its own kind of “retrograde” influence in and of itself. Emotions are going this way and that way, and their cause is somewhat uncertain. So much is going on, and yet what is going on exactly seems difficult to pin down and explain. Ideas and conversation abound, but where do they lead? In addition Mars joined in for the planetary and perceptual shift inward, kicking off this cycle with an opposition to Saturn in Sagittarius, kind of forcing us to find the humor in some our most…

With the Sun and Mars in Gemini inspiring us with new ideas, this week we all have a liberating view of romance.
Be prepared for a different perspective on your love life. People who once seemed unattractive suddenly seem desirable; those who we adored, can seem dull or boring. But behind the apparent puzzle that love is, comes a realisation that however much we think we may have to adapt to changing circumstances, love never stops threading its way in and out of our lives.
ARIES
You have seen the truth behind one love affair and realised what it’s actually worth. Now you have definition, and you’re not just somebody’s accessory. This week is a time to get to know yourself better. And a lover, partner or new admirer will also begin to see you in a new light. …

Steve Judd Astrology: Week ahead mid May 2015
May 18, 2015 at 10:18 am | Posted in Astrology | Comments Off on Steve Judd Astrology: Week ahead mid May 2015week ahead—scattered, but so what!!—may 18th – 20th
May 18, 2015 at 10:14 am | Posted in Astrology | Comments Off on week ahead—scattered, but so what!!—may 18th – 20thWe wake today with a waxing Moon in Gemini after last night’s Taurus New Moon.
Ok, so there are three general events for the week—the Moon working her way through the third and fourth signs, Mercury going retrograde (today around 10PM EST) and the Sun ingressing to the sign of the Twins.
Yep. The majority goes down in Gemini. Mutable Air.
An intellectual, flighty, witty, superficial zone, full of bright ideas and irony.
Today and tomorrow, the Moon will oppose Saturn, conjunct Mars and Mercury and sextile Uranus. With this and the retrograde, our minds will be scattered to the winds—BUT SO WHAT!!!!
It is a wonderful couple of days to brainstorm in high Gemini fashion, not insisting on a death grip of control. For when Luna moves to Cancer on Wednesday, the need for control will amp up, exponentially. And that’s OK, too.
A Cancer Moon is strong and touchy feely Water will drench us…

Alōha Pō’akahi ~ Greetings, Monday!
May 18, 2015 at 10:13 am | Posted in Astrology | Comments Off on Alōha Pō’akahi ~ Greetings, Monday!Mercury Retrograde log
May 18, 2015 at 10:13 am | Posted in Astrology | Comments Off on Mercury Retrograde logHere we go! A doozie of a Mercury retrograde is with us from May 18 – June 11. This retrograde is taking place in Mercury’s home sign of Gemini, aka Communication Central, which will make the snafus all the quicker. He’s also making hard contacts to Neptune, the planet of illusion, and Chiron, bringer of healing, which will escalate confusion and delusion. Read more in my article Handling a Mercury Retrograde.
No surprise then that the build-up has already been nutso. I started making a list on the 15th. Here’s what’s happened between then and the retrograde’s technical start:
- My Time Machine back up drive went out for 12 hours and then came back on by itself
- My smartphone stopped automatically downloading email despite settings instructing it to do so every 15 minutes
- The regulator motor broke in one of my rear car windows and left it 1″ down…

No charts, but an event local to Texas that is what we would expect with an Algol New Moon:
This is bad enough. Let’s hope that we do not have similar events over the course of the Mercury Retrograde / storm.

A question arose about how soon the Moon enters Gemini after the Algol New Moon.
Here is the chart:

We note that the Moon quickly opposes Saturn and then conjuncts Mars. This should be since Mars opposite Saturn recently culminated. Mercury Retrograde station also occurs today, and the Moon conjoins Mercury after retrograde motion has ever so slightly begun.
In all, it is likely to be a good day to stay home if you can. If not, avoid dangerous situations and check all details.
ALGOL’S ABSINTHE
May 18, 2015 at 1:27 am | Posted in Astrology | Comments Off on ALGOL’S ABSINTHE‘I’m making my own absinthe,’ I told a few friends at a conference in Oulu, Finland this week, ‘and I always use the sacred to the Finns spirit, aka 60 percent Koskenkorva Vodka.’
What I should have said is that I don’t just make absinthe. I ritualize the making of it, so that when I will finally drink it, I will drink the gods.
As tonight the Dark Moon is approaching her conjunction with the Sun, also conjunct the fixed star Algol, I thought that it was a good time to ask for something.
Not many want to approach this star, as it has a way of making heads disappear. In astrological cosmology Algol, Ras al Ghul, or the Demon Star, is the head of the Gorgon Medusa. Perseus decapitated her simply because she was a terrible monster, turning anyone who would gaze onto her into stone.
