New Moon in Taurus 2015
May 15, 2015 at 1:26 pm | Posted in Astrology | Comments Off on New Moon in Taurus 2015One little addition to this post: And then there’s that Algol thing happening… …and Mercury Retrograde station!
The New Moon at 26 degrees of Taurus on May 17th highlights our desires for comfort and our needs for sustenance. Insecurities about money, fidelity, health, and other areas of concern have been making themselves known over the past few days leading up to this. Taurus’s ruling planet Venus is transiting through sensitive Cancer, in opposition with Pluto. This opposition further brings up issues of jealousy, possessiveness, and may trigger highly charged episodes of “OCD”. On a positive note it can facilitate deep intimacy through nurturing rather than dependency through manipulation. We are fed and nurtured as much by giving as by receiving in certain ways. for the weekend—roadblocks and resources—may 15th – 17th
May 15, 2015 at 1:23 pm | Posted in Astrology | Comments Off on for the weekend—roadblocks and resources—may 15th – 17thToday, Gemini Mars opposes Sagittarius Saturn Rx—the atmosphere will be intellectually nervous with obstacle after obstacle popping up to stand in our way.
None of our attempts at action will go according to plan—best rethink the master scheme a bit or simply wait for better days.
Good thing it’s Friday, huh? (Unless of course if it’s not your Friday.)
While Mars and Saturn go at it, the waning Aries Moon gets bolstered from a sextile with flighty Mercury and a trine from enthusiastic Jupiter but later she is slammed with a square from intense Pluto and a conjunction to erratic Uranus.
The day will feel like a nip of gin—burns but somehow warms, upturns but somehow steadies, calms but somehow excites—ALL AT ONCE!!!
Tomorrow is much better, for Cancer Venus trines Pisces Neptune—a lovely Water balm to ease frustration!
Although we will still be contending with the thwarted effects of…

Mercury Retrograde in Gemini
May 15, 2015 at 1:23 pm | Posted in Astrology | Comments Off on Mercury Retrograde in GeminiAs an old rock and roll song says ‘Here we go again.” Or maybe we aren’t going. AT ALL. Or even moving backwards. It is Mercury Retrograde time. Time to slow down and check every detail. And also a good time to revisit old projects.
The Mad Hatter: ” Why is a raven like a writing desk?”
“Have you guessed the answer to the riddle yet?” the Hatter said, turning to Alice again.
“No I give it up,”Alice replied:” What is the answer?”
“I haven’t the slightest idea,” said the Hatter. ” Lewis Carroll
Mercury, the planet governing communication will station retrograde on May 19 in difficult aspect to the planet of dreams and illusions – Neptune. Mars is in Gemini now and this trio of Mercury, Mars and Neptune is likely to result in a confusing time frame increasing the potential complications of Mercury retrograde periods.
The likelihood of snafus with communication or the interpretation of information is high now. Even if your research has led you to believe it is all locked up, look again for blind spots or missing information.
Double check that emails, texts etc have been sent and received before…

New Moon in Taurus
May 15, 2015 at 1:21 pm | Posted in Astrology | Comments Off on New Moon in TaurusPeter Stockinger's Traditional Astrology Weblog
On 18 May 2015 the Moon will be conjunct the Sun in Taurus. Both planets will be conjunct fixed star Algol, the ‘daemon star’.
In the legend, Algol represents the head of the Gorgon Medusa who was slain by Perseus. Medusa, who was the only mortal one of the three Gorgon sisters, was originally a beautiful maiden, but her hair was changed into hissing serpents by Minerva in consequence of her having become by Neptune the mother of Chrysaor and Pegasus in one of Minerva’s temples. This gave her so fearful an appearance that everyone who looked at her was changed into stone.
It is said that if fixed star Algol is:
- in conjunction with the Sun, it indicates a violent death or extreme sickness; if the luminary culminate he will be maimed, mangled, wounded or torn to pieces alive; and if Mars is at the same time in Gemini…

It’s a good time to return, return to ones we have loved before, return to a place that holds our heart, or return to a project we once put on hold as Mercury retrogrades for the next three weeks.
The past whispers to us and it’s time to take a break. Whatever we’re in the midst of doing may either be put on hold while we deal with a sidebar, another agenda other than our usual, this week while Mercury retrogrades, Venus opposes Pluto, and Mars opposes Saturn.
Mercury retrogrades (May 18-June 11) in its own nervy sign of Gemini, which both makes this Mercury retrograde cycle easier, because we can stay more articulate and verbal, and more difficult because all things mercurial may be unusually challenging. Mercury is further energized and scrambled by a square with confusing if inspired Neptune- which perfected last week, retrogrades back to perfect again…
