Grand Trines, Saturn, and Scorpio

Now that Saturn has entered Scorpio, should we still be writing about it?  Traffic to the site has dropped to just under 100 visitors a day.  (Still quite respectable for a small blog written on a part-time basis.)

We think so.  From what I can tell, “you” (the visitors) are still interested in the topic.  But, if you would like to hear about other topics, please comment & let us know.

  1. 100 visits a day is still good for this blog. Understand you have very little time to dedicate to this blog.

You could try experimenting with monthly horoscope?

    • That’s a pretty good idea! (And, you are right, I am in a major time crunch these days.) I still am trying to keep up with the lunations (New Moon and Full Moon) along with one or two articles per month on whatever seems to “catch my eye” as an astrologer. I have also thought about resurrecting the sister blog, “Weekend Forecast.” Also: good to hear from you. Had not heard from you since August. Please do continue to visit!

  2. I do visit often , But i don’t comment. So you don’t see my logs here.
Good to talk to you again 🙂

    • Well, do feel free to drop the occasional comment. You have good commentary and good questions. What you ask / say gives me an idea of what my readers want to hear. Without that, I just have to guess.

  3. yes i agree, a monthly horoscope sounds like a good idea! I hope all is well with you 🙂

    • I will think about the monthly horoscope. Good to hear from you. Glad to know that you still stop by. I have not forgotten that I need to do an analysis for you and your sweetheart. (But, those take quite a bit of work.) Life doing ok for you, too?

      • I always stop by, and read all the posts 🙂

Not sure the sweetheart is ready to be in any committed relationship, that’s what he told me in Sept. So i decided to let him go in order to give him the space he needs to get over his divorce all by himself. Was difficult at the start but then I don’t want to force anything… I think it happened at a time where i was ready but he wasn’t…

Mom was diagnosed with cancer just two weeks ago, it’s stage 4, and since then, things seems really different… the things that used to worry me much seems so small all of a sudden…

Rather than that, nothing really new, it’s very much the same 🙂

      • Sorry to hear about you Mom. Things like that tend to shift our perspective. Stage 4 is very tough, but sometimes people do survive. Events like this remind us all that we only have so many days, and each one is precious.

  4. saturn in scorp is interesting due to pluto /cap. plus also signs of war arising

    Like

    • Yes, I agree. You may have noticed that several of my pieces focus on the mutual reception between Saturn / Pluto that began with the entry of Saturn into Scorpio. Both are considered “malefics”; both are generational and rule epochs much more than individuals. The relationship of both to the individual is in terms of defining the role of the individual within the context of their larger culture. Regarding war, I am not sure. I do not want to say one way or the other. But, I find rather startling how “we” (collectively, globally) are repeating certain patterns from the early part of the 20th Century.

The 1990’s were as much the “Gay 90’s” (a period of extreme prosperity) as were the 1890’s. The first part of the 1900’s were austere, as the 2000 decade mostly was. We had a series of banking bubbles then and similar ones starting in the 1980’s (the Savings & Loan scandals, now forgotten by most) as well as the “dot-com” bubble in 2000.

Beyond that, I hesitate to make a statement. Sometimes predictions have the danger of becoming “self-fulfilling prophecy.” But, let’s just say I am a bit worried too.

When unsealed, after 100 years, some readers of Mark Twain’s autobiography noted that it read like a commentary of current times, but with names changed.

      http://www.outsidethebeltway.com/mark-twain-autobiography-reveals-political-side/

This blog (Grand Trines) has a theme: we (both as individuals and as a culture) have cycles of repeating patterns in our lives. (Stars and “energies” and all that stuff are incidental. It is the repeating patterns that really matter.)

      • Needless to say, I am immersed not only in the U.S. point of view but the Texas point of view. Even though Texas is part of the U.S., it is so unique, with such a unique history, that it is almost like a separate country in some ways. In fact, at one point, it WAS a separate country. (Hence, “Six Flags”: http://www.sixflags.com/overTexas/index.aspx The amusement park is named for the fact that Texas has had so many flags over it, maintaining a unique identity all the while. Worthy of note: Louisiana (next door) has a similar history, except that it was never an autonomous state at any point.)

Texans, collectively (and especially in rural areas), tend to be the most “conservative” of the United States. The only exception would be the regions that have become heavily settled by immigrants, typically hispanic immigrants from south of the border. The state has been changing, however, due to the influx of immigrants.

That said, the news that filters in to me is rarely of the variety you describe. We never hear anything here about controversy about U.S. military bases in, or near, the U.K. Needless to say, if I do not hear about it then I cannot cast any charts or do any astrological analysis of it. (Feel free to send me BBC news links, etc.)

      • so you don’t know usa is obviously planning a war ? Do you know about the build up all year in med of aircraft carriers (various countries) and drones ? thats not in our mainstream news but via friends on facebk. I suggest you glance at the telegraph if you want mainstream uk stuff the FT is better for overseas stuff but mainstream is not where its at its all so heavily controlled
I would be interested in analysis of the coming soon eclipses ! yep I know , boring , traditional etc etc but eclipses are very significant
I don’t know much about texas except its big (isn’t it ?) and I think pro guns . What would be the chart for texas as an independent state?

      • Well, now that the election is over, will be interesting to see what directions we head. Texas has (at least) SIX natal charts.

  5. so far haven’t heard anything more about using bases but obama has had a lot on at home …..
of course not hearing about anything is what usually indicates its important they tend to flood the normal news with distractors …. I think maybe sthing will arise after new moon on 11th

    • I think the key will be the State of the Union address, circa the Full Moon. I did notice that President Obama did make two key appointments (CIA, Defense Secretary) during a void with Mars Square Saturn (today).

      • hmmm sounds like you think its not as v of c as it shd be – but surely something is either voc or it isn’t ? for me , mars in 9 ; saturn in 6 = not very “active” houses – hmmm ???

      • Ah, sounds like you have not heard of Jim Shawvan’s work on “Opportunity Periods” (as he has described them in the Daily Planetary Guide). As a bit of a footnote, I attended the same seminar he did with Lee Lehman in 1998. (However, I did not focus on developing the idea the way he did.) v/c has the potential to be useful in certain circumstances. I find it VERY useful for cleaning house (both literally and figuratively).

  7. Also I agree re full moon given the speech : he may continue to have too many probs @ home to start anything more major than already going on . I reckon if ww3 does escalate it will kick off in connection with EGYPT not the more obvious places : looked at that chart at all for next 6 mths ?

by the way it is difficult to read the astromap stuff Is it possible to make the planets at the end of lines larger ? when I try and enlarge the page it isn’t much better and often the thing goes funny anyway !

Ta for your effort astrology takes a lot of time=life

    • I am a little unsure the way certain things are going and am taking a “wait and see” attitude. I do think we are in a prolonged financial “contraction” and that should be obvious to anyone who understands what “Pluto in Capricorn” really means. (How can you miss that?) If WW3 comes, I believe it is at least a few years away. And, to precipitate such an event, a really strong and highly polarizing personality akin to Adolf Hitler must rise to significant levels of power. But, I do not think most people want that.

Instead, I think that the BRIC (Brazil, Russia, India, China, and maybe Korea) nations will rise to a high level of power by 2050. We will all have to re-evaluate at that time. However, that is far enough away that I may not be here any longer.

I have no control over the format of the maps. The software that generates those is fairly fixed. I am considering purchasing an update to the software. Maybe that will help.

    • As you know, I derive my opinions from my experience and how my experiences relate to the stated opinions and theory of others. I think v/c is a useful tool in the sense of avoiding certain kinds of traps in time. That’s a fairly common notion now. But, I can see utility in voids, also. Voids can be very good for naps. We tend to discount that kind of thing or laugh it off, but we must all rest and rejuvenate. In this sense, voids are a bit like Neptune / 12th house / Pisces. And, failure to pause and failure to rest are associated with the kind of “self-undoing” associated with both the 12th house and moon v/c.

But, I am still exploring. That means that I reserve the right to change or modify my opinion. 🙂

  10. this is interesting (you hardly ever say much on charts or I would visit much more often) but I would like you to explain please what you mean by “avoiding certain traps in time ” do you just mean wasting it on things that can’t possibly be successful also I didn’t know that voc’s were associated with self undoing …? very intriguing … your experience is valuable and everyone of any worth will grow and therefore change so i would say that ws a given . Essentially I think you shd dispense a few more pearls more often ? Please !
Blessings from bristol uk where it is actually dry to day and the uranus pluto square is quite clearly operating in that we are losing our oldguard longtime chief constable (HOORAY) due to a new WOMAN police crime commisioner’s action

    • I am flattered by your comments. Yes, voids (in my experience) are replete with traps. For example, you meet that “dynamic person” who you would like to get to know better during the void. But, later, you discover something about them that nixes the deal. So, you have invested all that emotion only to see it go south.

Years ago, I bought a Sony Walkman during a Capricorn void. At the time, I only wanted to listen to voice-based tapes of various narrations while exercising outdoors. So, I decided that this must be “in the normal course of business,” a type of activity that is usually safe during a void. Because it had been returned to the retailer, I received a deep discount (but, no returns). Later, I decided that I wanted to listen to music on it while resting quietly at home. The imperceptible problem with the motor, imperceptible with the narrations during exercise in a noisy outdoor environment, became obvious during piano solos of music while sitting still in a quiet home environment. And, as a “no returns” item I was stuck with it. (Eventually I donated it to charity and bought one that worked correctly.)

Yes, I would describe that as a “trap.” (And, it does seem to be a bit of “self-undoing,” like the 12th house, as well.)
