Difficulties Continue

This blog is not dead, but the difficulties I predicted have been coming to pass. Some time in tbe next few days I will have something to say about the alirgnment of Jupiter, Chiron, and Neptune in Aquarius.
I suppose we should have all seen that such an alignment would presage something like the “Swine Flu.” (We did, but we thought it would be Avian Flu.)
A New Shift in Values Thursday and Friday April 16 & 17, 2009

Wednesday April 15th Moon enters Capricorn (tests, trials, and tribulations) after a few days sojurn in Sadge. The Sun sextile Chiron on Tuesday brought the necessity to at least consider issues of teaching and/or healing. Wednesday’s Mars conjunct Uranus will bring disruptions, especially to computers. My guess is that we will hear more about the “Conflicker Worm.”
The Sun also aspects Neptune (dreams, delusions, and confusion) on this day. Neptune can favor psychic activities, but the rest of us may just be confused or misled. A few may have truly profound insights on this day.
Moon conjunct Pluto at this time adds more stress, particularly with regard to control dramas. Mars, Uranus, Neptune, and the Sun tell the Moon and Pluto that control will not be had this day. Neptune may offer the illusion of “control,” but Neptune is famous for impermanance.
With that cheerful prediction, I might add that we receive some rest with the Grand Trine of Thursday April 16th. If your birthday is on that date this year, this may be a particularly fortuitous year for you. Earth and water signs will particularly benefit this day. Fire and air may still feel more of the aftershocks of Wednesday, but they will get SOME relief as well.
Friday brings back the pressure and intensity, particularly with the Capricorn void that begins the Fourth Lunar Quarter. Buyers are favored, but probably not during the void. My experience with voids is that you often get what you ASK for, but not what you WANT. I have in mind an audio device bought many years ago to play voice. It did that; but any attempt to play music uncovered the fact that the device was useless for that purpose. Avoid purchases before about 1:30pm CDT (Dallas time).
Much of the rest of Friday is pressure back on. Venus makes a Direct Station, and this signals a shift either in money, physical health, or romance. Finances will shift, though the direction is difficult to determine. The same is true for health, except more will have a favorable shift than not. Romance generally will be ending of a short-lived relationship, or possibly the beginning of a longer-term one.
Mercury trines Saturn Friday evening (in Dallas), indicating that this is a very good day for detail work. If you did NOT get your taxes in on the 15th, then you definitely want to get them out on Friday.
The Moon’s square to the Sun on Friday marks the beginning of a double void. For the Moon, that period ends Friday afternoon. But, the Sun continues to be void until Sunday evening when the Sun enters Taurus. The first three degrees of any sign has been called “too early to tell” by some Horary Astrologers. Generally, this tends to be a “wait and see” period. Routinely “launches” should be fine, depending on the project. But, avoid anything “too experimental” until a bit later.
No promises on when I will be able to write more predictions.
March 29, 2009: Pluto Dominates
March 29, 2009 at 12:04 am | In Astrology, Predictions, Weekends | Leave a CommentTags: Chiron, deceit, Jupiter, midheaven, Moon, Neptune, Pluto, spendthrift, squares, Sunday, sunrise
Please do not get your hopes up that I will post any more than once or twice a week (at most). But, the mood hit me, and I thought I would do Sunrise on Sunday here in Dallas. (aka “The DFW Metroplex,” or just “The Metroplex”)
I pick the Metroplex for no other reason than “that is where I am located.” Generally, Sunday is characterized by squares. We know this already (if you read the Daily Planetary Guide), but this chart highlights power struggles and issues between the Moon in the 2nd House (money, finances, sometimes health) and Pluto dominant in the 9th House (Long distance travel, foreign relations, court battles, and higher education). Here are some of the dramas I expect to be “heightened” today.
Custody battles have a way of erupting on Sunday evenings. This one will be particularly delicate. Seek diplomacy if possible. Otherwise, be prepared to pay the lawyers again.
College students (higher education) may have to face their inquisitive parents about their grades and “how they are doing” this semester. Spring break is over for most (if not all), and the time is at hand to pass or fail (or whatever the goal may be).
On the political scene, this weekend is a bit fragile in general. This chart confirms that.
The Moon squares Jupiter, Chiron, and Neptune. Moon Square Jupiter is one of the two “spendthrift” aspects (the other being Sun Square Jupiter). Overspending and overeating are notorious here. Chiron signals the involvement of a mentor relationship (not usually parental but possibly) and Moon Square Neptune is all about deceit in many cases. Do not be surprised if you lie or are lied to. Armed with this knowledge, you can decide how you wish to handle the deceit.

A shift in energy happens this weekend, and you will feel it. These days should be clustered together because this is one weekend that will “spill over” into next week.
Saturday the Moon is still in Capricorn, as Friday, and Financial Markets will somehow feel this. Mars Trines Saturn, which brings a sort of “closure” the the Mars Sextile Uranus of Thursday.
Innovative ideas may be squashed in favor of the status quo. We may hear some kind of government pronouncement about the military, but it will favor keeping the status quo rather than “change.” (Saturn (status quo) is the last to whisper in the ear of Mars (military, police, violence, violent criminals).
Meanwhile, Venus has aligned to favor Uranus (women, as a group, may find that they are VERY bored with the status quo), and Mars is “forced” to communicate with Venus. Some military / police officers may find themselves locked out of their homes by their wives or daughters.
The Moon, the other major feminine planet, speaks to everyone this day, but Venus has the the last word. This could indicate a mother / daughter alliance in a family (or other) dispute.
The VERY last word in this drama, though, belongs to the children (and the communicators) who can point at the supposed authority figure and say “he did it.” (Think of the final few scenes of the movie “Witness.”)
The Moon leaves all this behind as it enters a void and then Aquarius about 1am in Dallas (7am in UK). The Moon then conjoins Jupiter followed with a conjunction with the Sun which produces a Solar Eclipse. (You should read the Friday discussion of Jupiter’s influence). This Eclipse will be particularly life-changing for some people because of the intense Jupiter involvement. Higher education, travel (and diplomacy), and the courts will become particularly pronounced for some people, and, in fact, the population of the world will feel it.
Mercury (retrograde, in Capricorn) speaks to Mars Monday (either great Romance or terrible fights). Whatever happens this day, expect to “revisit” it on March 1st (when Mercury and Mars will meet again, but this time in Aquarius with Mercury forward motion).
All of this Mercury / Venus / Mars drama (which can be children, mother, father) is tied into the eclipse. For some, this means father accepts a new job or carreer which carries him far away. (We know this about military and Iraq, but this could be something a bit new or different.)
This, by itself, would be enough, but Tuesday the Moon predictably pulls Chiron (teachers, healers, healthcare, old wounds) into the fray as well as Neptune ( poetry, music, illness, alcohol & drugs, sometime “con-artists”). Illness will clearly be an issue, and we might see a significant “uptick” in the incidence and prevalence of the current strain.
If the Mars / violence issues involved a family alcoholic or drug addict, then Tuesday can be the turning point. I cannot say exactly WHAT KIND of turning point, but a turning point. For some, it will be devastating (possibly suicide). Others will get help and finally become “clean and sober.”
Energies shift again Wednesday, but that is a topic for another post.
January 8th, 2009: Stick with the Diet; Temptation Strikes
January 7, 2009 at 9:33 pm | In Astrology, Predictions | 1 CommentTags: ceres, diet, Moon, Neptune, resolution, Uranus
Temptation strikes today around 10am Central, a popular “coffee break” time. Those who have already fallen off the wagon tempt those who have lasted so far.
With a Gemini Moon (chatter) Squaring (disagreement) Ceres (Diets / Feasts) in Virgo (health issues), expect a bit of chatter if not bickering or outright disagreement about diets. And, given the proximity to New Year’s Day, this is almost a certainty. If you have survived so far, hang in there. You can make it.
Of course, in the UK and Europe, this drama happens at the supper table.
Back in Texas, at Central Time, the moon forms a T-Square with the Uranus-Neptune opposition. Squabbles can easily erupt, particularly if you are Gemini, Virgo, Sadge, or Pisces. No one will “win” unless this is an old dance where the same player always “wins.” If so, and you are not the winner, then don’t play.
One other thing: Ceres enters Libra on August 3rd. This places Ceres in a Square with Pluto (Ceres rules feasts & famines because, according to myth, Pluto gets her for six months of the year (late fall, winter, early spring). During this time, when Pluto has her, we have famine (in modern time: diets).
With the square, as long as we aren’t have a REAL famine (or food supply problems), you should NOW put an reminder where you will find it in August (personal calendar or elsewhere) to re-visit your diet resolutions. If your plan is working, you might think about how to tune it. If you “fell off” the diet wagon, then this (Thursday August 6th, just after the Full Moon) will be a good time to restart.
Not sure what plan you want to follow? Try this.
Much of life is about “getting up” after we “fall down.”
Astrology for New Year 2009, Part 1
December 29, 2008 at 1:40 pm | In Astrology, Predictions | 4 CommentsTags: Chiron, Jupiter, Mercury, mercury retrograde, Neptune, NewYear2009, retrograde, Retrogrades, Station, stations
The New Year asks us a few things and tells us some.
It asks us:
- Do you realize that what you say is what you will grow? The stories you tell your friends this year will benefit, or haunt, you for years to come.
- Do you know what you need to know to improve your health?
- Are you in touch with your dreams?
- Do you know (a) who can help you make your dreams happen? and (b) who would hold you back and cheat you from achieving your goals?
- Do you know who is wasting your time and energy?
- Do you know how to best use your time and abilities to give back to the community?
Also, 2009 tells us:
- Whether it is Obama or someone else, we need to handle the large banks the way the phone company was handled in the 1980s: they need to be broken into smaller regional banks and made accountable to the people.
- Large corporations will engage in massive deception to keep us from seeing the truth: the real power is in the people, small business, and (at the biggest) regional organizations.
- The health care system, ESPECIALLY mental health, is overdue for an overhaul. We continue to ignore the problems at our peril.
- Crime will be rampant, especially fraud and crimes based on deceit.
- More than any other year in recent times, this will be a year to get in touch with our educational needs, health needs, legal issues, dreams, intuitive abilities, and abilities to heal by teaching others.
Many of the forecasts on this blog focus on identifying potholes in the road ahead. Good news is available; read it here.
Interactions between Mercury, Jupiter, Chiron and Neptune will be important in 2009, and they will bring us a chance to heal from the difficulties of 2008. But, we will have to guard against false hopes and deception. Even so, we may be given a glimpse of what we are truly capable of being.
Assuming you just read that analysis, let me expand upon it further. The bad news is that Jupiter will no longer soften the effect of Pluto in Capricorn. The good news is that Jupiter will not amplify the effect of Pluto in Capricorn. Instead, Jupiter moving into Aquarius means that Jupiter will interact with Neptune and Chiron to bring a major shift in how we “do business.” Speaking of “Business,” that field is ruled by both Jupiter and Saturn. If Saturn is the source of power for those who benefit from “bear markets,” then Jupiter is the source for those who favor “bull markets.”
Jupiter is saying what is coming to fore in the political world: growth will no longer come from larger corporations who continue to merge into larger corporations. The monoculture of giant, megalithic corporations will only continue to concentrate wealth for a few, leaving the rest of us to suffer. Jupiter is saying that our collective strength will come from recognizing the power of “the people.”
In the past, Democrats were known as “Trust Busters.” Will it happen now? Instead of bailing out the huge banks who have made bad decisions, will we break them up into smaller entities? Will we awaken to the idea that we need to restore power to regional and community banks? Or will we continue to “bail out” banks so they can have junkets on corporate jets and charge the citizenry 30% interest on credit cards?
To be sure, as mentioned in the other article, Mercury will have important interactions with Jupiter. That will be true for other planets, notably Venus, but that’s a topic for another article.
Jupiter transits into Aquarius on January 5th, during the shadow of the Mercury Retrograde. Mercury is Stationary Retrograde January 11th, which makes accomplishment difficult. Many businesses and institutions do not reopen until January 5th, after the holiday. Broadly speaking, they’ll be “in for a surprise,” as we sometimes say here in Dallas.
More on 2009 in Part 2.
Christmas, 2008 (Sextiles, and Conjuncts, and Trines, Oh My!)
December 23, 2008 at 12:34 pm | In Astrology, Holidays, Predictions, Retrogrades | 1 CommentTags: Chiron, Mars, Mercury, Neptune, newmoon, retrograde, satrun, Saturn, shadow, solstice, Uranus, Venus, wordpress
For this column, since about September or October of 2008, I usually follow two rules: (1) Keep it Short (two or three, maybe four, paragraphs); (2) Keep it Simple (Most people don’t really care if Mercury Sextiles Uranus or not, but they DO want to now that this would be a time for creativity in both finances and the arts.) This time, I’m going to break both of those rules.
Before I go any further, I want to may plugs for two sites I’ve found recently. I like what I’ve seen in both places: (1) http://www.newworldastrology.blogspot.com/ and (2) http://astrologyscout.com/ This last one is an astrology aggregator, and includes my site as well as others.
This prediction is for the general period from the Winters Solstice of 2008 until the following New Moon on Saturday, December 27th.
Tuesday (today): Venus Conjoins Chiron (both in late Aquarius) to bring to the forefront issues of healing. Late Aquarius is really about justice, especially social justice, more than any other part of the Zodiac, including all of Libra. Late Aquarius is the “Libra Decan” of Aquarius, and Aquarius won’t let things rest until the appropriate change has come to pass. Venus is love, beauty, health, and finances, and it joins with the “Wounded Healer” today. Try to resolve disputes today, and if not today by Saturday. Any thoughts that you can cover up or shut up someone will bite you badly, probably within a few days of January 11th.
Wednesday: Just in case you didn’t get yesterday’s message: this period is about healing old wounds. Take a look at your family and your economic sustenance (your business, workplace, or whatever you do to “take home the groceries”). Some innovative ideas may come to you today, but realize that this aspect of Mercury (in Capricorn) Sextile Uranus (in Pisces) will favor Earth and Water Signs the most. Creative finance engendered today will either go very well or very badly. Don’t debt, no matter what the temptation.
Thursday: This is a mostly uneventful Christmas that turns back into “business” as usual in the evening for those on the East Coast, early afternoon for those on the West Coast, and about Midnight for those in the UK. Do what most people do: spend the day with family today. One special exception: (re-read Tuesday): visiting those in Nursing Homes and other Institutions who have been left alone and abandoned. If you know someone who works this day (nurse, police officer, etc.), please do something special for them. A special, and unexpected, gift may come to you if you do these things today (or yesterday).
Friday: Issues from the time of the Full Moon on December 12th to Monday December 15th have re-surfaced due to yesterday evenings “T-Square” activation of the “Grand Cross” of that time. For you, that means today has a kind of frantic feel to it. This isn’t just about returning goods or “re-gifting” or any of that stuff. Urgent issues come to light, and not enough time seems available. Actually, you are right. Not enough time is available, and that situation will get worse, much worse, between now and January 11th. Don’t be afraid to work as hard as you need to; do “get things done.” Remember, today is mostly about cleanout and planning. Do NOT launch any new ventures until Monday. (However, you might want to refer to the Daily Planetary Guide and Jim Shawvan’s note of a Cazimi period about 7am EST on Saturday morning.)
Saturday: The VERY short Cazimi period is useful to get a very SMALL handful of focused items done. This lasts for a MAXIMUM of an hour, starting about 6:30 AM EST. After that, the rest of today is about “down time.” Play if you will, but don’t do anything dangerous or “too” physical. Today is a good day for romance, but probably a bad day for anything to last. Romances STARTED today (you meet that special new person) have a tendency to fizzle, and that will probably happen by January 11th.
Think of Saturday as “Love Potion #9″ day: you’ll be kissing everything in sight, until you kiss the Policeman and 11th and Vine.
Mercury Retrograde: Why do I keep mentioning January 11th? That is the day of the Mercury Retrograde station for the next retrograde. We’ll be entering the “storm” phase soon, and getting things done will be difficult. Expect misplaced items, lost messages, and delays. If you DO “clean house” during this period, then the few weeks after January 11th can become very useful as you can focus the retrograde energy on rediscovering old projects that deserve a second look. Please have you vehicle (car, boat, or otherwise) serviced as soon as possible. You don’t want “that” kind of surprise.
December 14, 2008 Finger of God Points Out Weak Points
December 13, 2008 at 11:14 am | In Astrology, Predictions, Weekends | Leave a CommentTags: FingerOfGod, inconjunct, Jupiter, Moon, Neptune, peace, Shopping, Sun
Saturday December 13th the Moon shifted into Cancer, its home, the Full Moon energy terminated with the shift into a new sign, and one of Jim Shawvan’s Opportunity Periods began. This one continues until about 5:30 pm, EST, on the 14th.
A number of things happen today, but the big one is the Finger of God in the “clumsy” signs. I’m not sure which astrologer wrote it, but years ago I read that Cancer, Sadge, and Aquarius are the “clumsy” signs. People with planets in these signs, especially in several of them, are supposedly prone to gafs.
That said, in this specific group of signs, a Finger of God forms today, with Moon (in Cancer) inconjunct Sun (in Sagittarius) and Neptune (in Aquarius). The lunar opposition to Jupiter joins into this group to create what I call a “peace sign in the sky.”
My interpretation is that this grouping will lead all of us to explore points of weakness, points where we stumble, and find answers in spirituality. (The two spirituality planets are Jupiter & Neptune; both are involved here.)
So, do note that some excellent shopping opportunities continue, but be aware that you might somehow stumble today. That isn’t bad, because you have the opportunity to (probably safely) learn an important lesson.
Regardless, get done what you can. Monday isn’t a very forgiving day.
Wednesday November 19, 2008
November 19, 2008 at 1:38 am | In Lunations, Predictions | Leave a CommentTags: Aquarius, Leo, Moon, Neptune, scorpio, Sun, VoidOfCourse
At approximately 10AM in the UK, the Moon in Leo will Oppose Neptune in Aquarius. For those of us in the US, we’ll be sleeping and this will help us to dream, perhaps with revelations in our dreams. But for those in London and Paris, this will cause a bit of havoc.
Not to fear, this isn’t a major event but a once a month event. Even so, either confusion will reign or unrealistic notions will take charge. If you chose the “idealistic” path yesterday, instead of the practical, you might get in a little bit to deep at this time. Those who opted to be practical may be irritated by emails bouncing or unclear language on contracts or similar problems.
The rest of the day tends to have a “get things done” quality brought on by Squares. Disagreement will tend to result, but they will lead to action. Please note that by 4:30 EST the Sun will go void for a few days (when Moon enters 4th quarter) followed by the Moon going void for half an hour on each side of 8PM EST.
This particular double void (with a 4th quarter moon!) is a good time to wrapup “things Scorpio,” particular if the “wrapup” is in the form of meditation and visualization. I suppose you could take action, but it should be the “letting go” type of action. If you having been mourning the loss of a loved one, then maybe this is the time to permit yourself to have a reprieve. Think of something new and different you can do that might bring you (okay, I hate to use this term, but….) a quantum of solace.
At least one of my readers is wrestling (metaphorically) with her teenaged daughter. This paragraph is specifically for you. This double void period might be a time where you can finally have that heart to heart you’ve been wanting to have. The important thing is to value the “connectedness” and not depend on what she has to say. She may not yet be able to quite voice her innermost hopes and fears. But, you might be able to reach a point where you acknowledge her “coming of age” in a healing way.
Except for California (PST) and MST, the Moon in Virgo Square Mars in Sadge is a topic for Thursday’s note. You might have a little trouble sleeping, or even a late night quarrel. Defer all til Sunday if you can. The period from now til then is about organizing and researching.
Monday November 17, 2008 Opportunity Abounds?
November 16, 2008 at 9:45 pm | In Uncategorized | Leave a CommentTags: Mercury, Moon, Neptune, opportunity, Shopping, Sun, VoidOfCourse
At UAC 1998, I saw the same lecture as Jim Shawvan. Jim has turned it into quite a treat while I simply “filed it away” mentally. The single thing I remember most about that lecture was how the moon could “performeth,” sometimes very well, during a void. Lee Lehman gave an example of a furniture store that she recommended open during a void. Contrary to what I would expect, or most of the audience for that matter, the store “performeth” rather well and had a large sale the afternoon it opened. ($40,000 in furniture to a single customer, if I recall.)
Lee, herself, gave credit to William Lily (a famous astrologer in the 1600’s who was arrested for predicting the Great Fire of London). Lilly famously said, that the Moon “performeth somewhat” at these times.
That said, although I love the story, I still don’t quite drink the Kool-Aid. I’m rather skittish about voids. I won’t belabor the point. But, what you think about Monday depends on who you believe. Moon is in Cancer, and void from about 8am EST to about 4pm EST (when it enters Leo).
Jim says the Opportunity Period continues (from Sunday) until about 3:30 EST. Personally, I don’t like voids and I would say to lay low and clean house (especially) on Monday. You, dear reader, get to pick.
But, before you do, consider these two things: (1) does WATER favor you personally? For the furniture store to make $40K, someone had to give it up. Was it a fair trade? I don’t know. If you find your strengths in Fire and Air, then this probably doesn’t favor you. (2) Void Cancer Moons are famous for causing bitter lasting resentments that lead to blood feuds. And, often these resentments are due to misunderstandings or miscommunications. Do you want to take the risk?
If you are in the UK or Europe, this doesn’t affect you until late afternoon or early evening. For you, this day could be especially productive, especially Moon Trine Sun. Moon Trine Sun is a very good time to lock down agreements, make relevant purchases, and so forth. But again, ask if water favors you. For Cancer, Scorpio, Pisces, Taurus, Virgo, and Capricorn, this time will favor you. For Aries, Leo, Sadge, Gemini, Libra, and Aquarius, it may not. Especially, Aquarius.
Against all of this is Mercury Square Neptune. Both Scorpio and Aquarius may feel a bit rough this day. That leads me to add that this might tie into the Scorpio / Aquarius aspect that will re-ignite in February, as discussed in an earlier post.
(Okay, I know I contradicted myself about Scorpio. Maybe we don’t really KNOW what happens with Scorpio today. I think it is a good day, especially for them, to relax and take it easy. This assumes, of course, that a Scorpio actually CAN take it easy.)
Those who overindulge in alcohol and drugs would be at risk with this Mercury Square Neptune aspect, as would those easily guiled by the scammers of the world. So, be careful if the deal is a bit TOO good to be true.
And, of course, Mercury / Neptune great favors the inspiration of poets, photographers, and movie makers.
