Monday March 30, 2009 Chatty Cathy Monday

Don’t hope to hold secrets today, no hope of that exists with so much chatter in the air. Following on the tail of Sunday’s squares, the Moon moves into Gemini and squares Ceres (which continues to be active). By itself, the Gemini Moon is chatty, but Mercury conjoins the Sun later tonight as well.
Secrets are out.
The following chart, set in Dallas, shows the basic details.

Moon Enters Gemini (Dallas) on March 30th of 2009
Mars at Midheaven
Note that Mars is at Midheaven in this chart. The main hope for today is to avoid the almost inevitable fights and conflicts that may emerge from revealing so much so fast.
For athletes this is a good day. You may switch to a new team or manager and find that it benefits you well. Police officers and intelligence operatives may fare well also (as long as they are not wrongdoers themselves). A bad place to be, though, would be as an “agent provacateur.” If you are running a “sting” operation today you may get stung yourself by a television camera crew who sends it directly to a satellite feed.
Financial Markets
The financial markets are in trouble today not in the sense that anything economic is distressing them but that more of the truth will emerge about the misconduct of the past few years. Secretive Pluto in Capricorn (corporations and often finances (along with Taurus)) will lose to the chatty Moon today because of the help she receives from the Sun and Mercury.
Of course, not all secrets will be revealed, but today could represent a major “unraveling” for some. Do not be surprised if we discover that Madoff and Stanford are the tip of a larger iceberg.
Secrets Might Come Out During a Lawsuit
The 9th House is strongly colored by the current cluster of Jupiter, Chiron, and Neptune. Just in case Pluto thought he could keep secrets, he had better think again with these three in this place. Not only will it come out, but it will probably come out in “open court” in some circumstances.
For You and I Personally
For you, personally, be social, but avoid controversy (unless you are the kind of person that benefits from fights; if so, this is your day).
For the rest of us, today tends to be uncomfortable. (Sorry, I wish I could give a more cheerful forecast.)
Aries
You are very strong now. Generally, this day favors you. You can defeat most enemies, if that is your goal.
Taurus
You are not as strong as you were Saturday. A friend of yours may have a very bad day. You would like to help, but you may just have to distance yourself from them for now. They may become angry if you do this. Use your judgment.
Gemini
You are the center of controversy. This works well for some of you, but you could be very tired at the end of this day. You will realize (correctly) that tomorrow is a new day and something new is starting in your life.
Cancer
Today is tough for you, too. Use today for downtown. You do not have to be the center of attention.
Leo
A very weird and “sideways” day for you. Your secrets could be “outed” as well, but you might just be an “innocent bystander.” Proceed carefully.
Virgo
Today is just unpleasant for you. Normally you never worry much about diet, but you are for some reason now. Like Gemini, you will get a new start tomorrow.
Libra
The best position for you is to be the judge or mediator. Your job is to make peace today; just realize that peace will not be had today. Still, you are actually in a very good position.
Scorpio
It looks good for you. You seem centered and in control. But, more than any other sign, you could be easily blindsided today. As with Leo, proceed carefully.
Sagittarius
Gemini Moon will not leave you alone. If your boss is a Capricorn, then they might be in a bad mood. They will be in a very bad mood if you inadvertently disclose their secret. Even so, avoid the temptation to lie. Talk about the weather or something else generally considered “neutral.” Stay away from controversey today.
Capricorn
What an awful day! But, if you avoid deceit and just work hard, doing routine tasks that must be done anyway, you might actually make some money today. Avoid risks.
Aquarius
Many people are looking to you for leadership. If this is your day in court then you can win. You might be the strongest sign today. As with others, avoid lying.
Pisces
Aquarius may be the strongest sign today, but you are the star. You do not mean for it to be this way, but you may ultimately be in control. Capricorn and Scorpio, whether they realize it or not, will have to come by you to get things done. Just don’t flaunt it. With a gentle, VERY gentle nudge, they can deduce the reality of the situation.
Weekend of March 28, 2009 Remember those New Year’s Resolutions?

Chart for intiation of the process of writing predictions for the weekend starting Friday March 27th of 2009
Although the astrology makes sense, I still do not fully understand why it is the way it is. What I mean is that some of you, perhaps many of you, will find that this weekend will lead you to reconsider the New Year’s resolutions that you made and either kept or broke back in January and February.
I include the above chart for the “Ketarke” of this. Note that Saturn is in the 1st and Ascendant is near a sign change boundary. This implies that I will miss something important, and possibly I may miss something very big. Maybe I am focused on diet and weight loss when, in fact, some huge change happens somewhere else (such as in the Financial Markets).
Well, if it says I “can’t” predict it, then I won’t.
For many of you this weekend is about diet and more than a few of you are wrestling with debt. You may have to struggle with both, perhaps doing well with one but not the the other. Maybe none of it is working.
I know of at least one person who will be struggling with clearing of clutter and house cleaning in a major way this weekend. That, too, can be represented by the configuration. Just be careful not to end up with MORE clutter. (You go to the garage sale to release your “stuff” and buy more than you delivered.)
Regardless….
You’ll reach a decision this weekend: blow it all on a big splurge or be more modest. I am not saying that you must be so strictured that you explode because that will not work either. But, this weekend is about making the changes necessary to be modest and practical in your dining and expenditures.
And a few of you, a very special few, will have given up altogether only to see glimmer of a new hope this weekend. For you, this is your chance to restart your life in terms of possessions and tangible things. You will need to be VERY modest, but you can, once again, have hope.
Regardless of who you are, you’ll need to have a heart to heart with that special someone on Saturday.
Just when you have things lined up, you will encounter challenges on Sunday. Squabbles will tend to break out. Use this energy, instead, for sculpture or writing of poetry or at least making home movies about happy times.
This is for you Ms. Marmite: this is THE weekend to emphasize to your customers the quality of your food, the nutrition, and the value. Oddly, this is a logical turning point in relation to my February 3rd post for you specifically.
A few of you may wonder where I am deriving this analysis from. I have included another chart showing entry of Moon into Taurus and its relationship (grand trine) to Pluto and Ceres. Note, also, how precisely Mercury is opposite the Part of Fortune (Fortuna) here. Especially for those who are “early risers” (or those who are sufficiently inspired that they choose to rise early this day), this will be a time of “luck” for dealing with those “broken” New Year’s resolutions regarding diet, “getting in shape,” money, and tangible physical items.

Note positions of Moon, Mercury, Ceres, and Pluto
Weekend of January 30th Dominated by Mercury Direct Station
January 30, 2009 at 12:57 pm | In Astrology, Predictions, Retrogrades, Weekends | 5 CommentsTags: aries, ceres, diet, direct, eclipse, famine, feast, FingerOfGod, Mercury, mercury direct, mercury retrograde, Moon, Saturn, Yod, Yods
What eclipses this weekend (sorry), is the Mercury Direct station. This this station follows so closely after the eclipse is even more of a sign of changes to come.
For many of us, personally, this presents another major turning point in the diet issue. Will we feast or will we famine? If you are fighting this issue, this weekend is an important milestone. You will especially find Saturday frustrating, as your plans to stay on track are upset by Mercury changing directions. As I have written before, keep in mind that if you fall down you can get back up.
But even if you are not fighting the diet fight, you will feel the shift in other ways.
Friday morning starts slowly, but the day becomes more “lively” with a possible power struggle or financial issue in the afternoon.
Friday has a quiet Piscean period which includes a void from about 3am Dallas time (6am UK) until the Moon enters Aries after 9am. Aries Moons tend to bring about activity. And this Moon squares Pluto early, as early Aries Moons will do for the next few years.
Plutonic activity often signifies concerns over taxes. (It is that time of year again, isn’t it?) This can be a sign of other disputes, or perhaps intense sexual activity. By itself, it is not a major aspect, but following so closely after an eclipse it can signify that you will see a major turning point in your life this afternoon. Keep your eyes open.
The day ends pleasantly enough with an aspect to Jupiter.
Saturday is the peak day in the diet battle, and Saturday also brings to fore issues with with “will” and the intensity needed to get things done. This is embodied in a “finger of God” that has Ceres (food) and Saturn (structure, willpower) at the focal point, and the Moon in Aries at one fork and five planets in Aquarius at the other fork.
The five planets in Aquarius speaks to use tending to decide to do “what the group wants to do.” If you have a support group, this is a good time to attend activities. Go to OA if you attend that, or an extra Weight Watchers if you attend that.
For many of us, we see a drama that includes three different groups: (1) a group of people, possibly five or more, who advocate THEIR viewpoint; (2) an authority figure and possibly a “young lady” (who could be engaged to marry); and (3) a lone, but exteremly strong, female. When we think of this “lone female” think of Diana the Warrior.
I cannot say who will win this battle of wills, but I can say that the drama will be a lively one. Enjoy!
January 9, 10, & 11: A Rather Wild Weekend
January 9, 2009 at 12:29 am | In Astrology, Lunations, Predictions, Weekends | 4 CommentsTags: diet, FullMoon, inconjunct, Inconjuncts, Mercury, mercury retrograde, Moon, Pluto, Uranus, Weekend
Looking for a “wild weekend”? You will probably get your wish fulfilled this weekend. On Friday, the Moon is void from just after Midnight (Central) to just after Noon. If you live in the UK or Europe, this means that the Moon is void for the workday. If you are a new reader, you might ask what does that mean?
The traditional interpretation of a Void Moon is “nothing will come of this.” In recent years, some practitioners have noted that sometimes something very definitely DOES “come of this,” but often in a weird or unexpected way.
By itself, the Void Moon would be enough. But Mercury is practically at a standstill, the official date of the Retrograde station being January 11th. Mercury Retrograde is notorious for problems with thinking, communications, and transportation. Princess Diana died in an automobile crash when the Moon was void and Mercury was retrograde. So, be careful.
After the transit of the Moon from Gemini into Cancer, about Noon CST, a major shift in energy occurs. People you know might just want to go home and hide out. Or, since the Moon has moved into the sign where it will become full, they may be ready for a wild ride.
In fact, Friday evening is a good night to stay home with your sweetheart.
Saturday proves to be a “better” day, but remains “interesting.” If you broke your diet the other day, then you can use Saturday to get restarted (Moon Sextiles Ceres.) This may not prove easy, but if you fall down you can get a great idea (Moon Trine Uranus) from a lesson learned and re-start in earnest. The Moon is Full by 9:30 Central. After that, the Moon immediately goes void and is waning. Waning Moons favor diets.
Both Ceres and Mercury go retrograde Sunday. We have described the problems with Mercury Retrograde a number of times, so we will concentrate on Ceres, the Grain Goddess.
With Ceres retrograde, you will have to carefully scrutinize the areas of feast and famine in your life. This is not just with food; this can be an excellent time to make a budget or organize a family meeting to make a budget.
The Moon is void on Sunday until almost Noon, so any plans made during that time may be subject to revision. Make your plans anyway, because Sun Trine Saturn will favor them. (Most plans need revisions anyway.)
If you are having a family meeting, expect some disputes over these issues. Moon opposes Jupiter and is inconjunct Pluto. (Moon Opp Jupiter = “blows it out of proportion”; Moon Inconj Pluto = “power struggles that resolve into false hopes.”)
Even so, this is the time to “lance the boil.”
January 7th 2009: Moon Trines Aquarian Planets
January 7, 2009 at 1:42 am | In Astrology, Predictions | 2 CommentsTags: career, employment, jobs, Jupiter, Mercury, Moon, Romance, Venus
A very small window exists where you might be able to get what you want, if you play your cards not only right, but quickly.
Moon is void until noon Central. After that it enters Gemini and immediately trines Jupiter at 1pm CST. This is *THE* time this month to ask for a new job, raise, corner office, etc. Even if you cannot GET what you ask for, you can plant the seed today at this time.
By 2:30pm CST, maybe a little earlier, the sweet cream has turned to sour milk. If you did not get a “yes,” then drop the issue at this point.
Later in the evening, we find ourselves in cross-currents. Moon Squares Venus (usually unfavorable) but trines Mercury (usually favorable).
Translation: you may find yourself in a disagreement with a female (even if you are female). OR, you may be on the sidelines observing a dispute between two females. If not a woman then either fiscal or physical issues will present as problems.
However, our communications (or transportation) is slightly improved. The Moon trine Mercury brings a very small modicum of relief to the impending retrograde. So, if you need to clarify miscommunication, and the other party is not TOO angry, this would be a good time to do it.
January 6, 2009 A Mostly Uneventful Day
January 6, 2009 at 5:59 am | In Astrology, Predictions, Retrogrades | 1 CommentTags: FullMoon, Jupiter, Mercury, mercury retrograde, retrograde
The way writing astrology columns goes is that I am supposed to tell you about some dramatic event. I’ve already covered that with Jupiter moving into Aquarius on Monday and the upcoming Full Moon on Saturday followed by the Mercury Retrograde Station on Sunday.
To be sure, these are interesting times that ask us to scrutinize our thoughts, communications, and travel. But, today, TODAY (Jan 6th) is relatively quiet and uneventful. You probably know the name for this: “the calm before the storm.”
You should already be noticing glitches in your life, a bit like when Neo notices the black cat walk by and then again. Mercury Retrograde “reprograms” our “Matrix” a bit. So, as you may choose, take advantage of this brief calm period to prepare for the approaching storm.
Jan 5, 2009: Jupiter Moves into Aquarius
January 5, 2009 at 2:42 am | In Astrology, Predictions, Retrogrades | 1 CommentTags: Jupiter, Mercury, mercury retrograde
“Jupiter Moves into Aquarius.” What does that mean if you are not an astrologer?
This shift indicates a move in power from Corporate America & “Big Business” into the grass roots voter. But, it will affect many other areas, particularly higher education and the legal system. And, long-range travel, such as vacations by cruise, may be revolutionized by this shift.
If any of this is your order of business, be assured that “things” may be a bit unclear until after January 19th. On that date, Jupiter moves out of the first three degrees of Aquarius. That, by itself, may not be enough; you may have to wait until Mercury goes Direct on February 1st.
If you really want to know what this Jupiter transit means to you, personally, you need to look at the period between January 21st of 1997 and February 4th of 1998. Other major influences were present (notably Uranus in Aquarius), so you’ll have to focus on “things Jupiter.” (Courts & Legal, long term travel, Higher Education, Ambassadors & Foreigners, perhaps “growing” a new business.)
Whatever MAJOR event you did at that time in your life (going back to school, quitting school, etc.), you are about to somehow revisit it.
Today (Jan 5th, 2009) is a relatively routine day. Take a few moments to ponder the events of 1997 and how they might be relevant to your life today.

Astrology for New Year 2009, Part 1
December 29, 2008 at 1:40 pm | In Astrology, Predictions | 4 CommentsTags: Chiron, Jupiter, Mercury, mercury retrograde, Neptune, NewYear2009, retrograde, Retrogrades, Station, stations
The New Year asks us a few things and tells us some.
It asks us:
- Do you realize that what you say is what you will grow? The stories you tell your friends this year will benefit, or haunt, you for years to come.
- Do you know what you need to know to improve your health?
- Are you in touch with your dreams?
- Do you know (a) who can help you make your dreams happen? and (b) who would hold you back and cheat you from achieving your goals?
- Do you know who is wasting your time and energy?
- Do you know how to best use your time and abilities to give back to the community?
Also, 2009 tells us:
- Whether it is Obama or someone else, we need to handle the large banks the way the phone company was handled in the 1980s: they need to be broken into smaller regional banks and made accountable to the people.
- Large corporations will engage in massive deception to keep us from seeing the truth: the real power is in the people, small business, and (at the biggest) regional organizations.
- The health care system, ESPECIALLY mental health, is overdue for an overhaul. We continue to ignore the problems at our peril.
- Crime will be rampant, especially fraud and crimes based on deceit.
- More than any other year in recent times, this will be a year to get in touch with our educational needs, health needs, legal issues, dreams, intuitive abilities, and abilities to heal by teaching others.
Many of the forecasts on this blog focus on identifying potholes in the road ahead. Good news is available; read it here.
Interactions between Mercury, Jupiter, Chiron and Neptune will be important in 2009, and they will bring us a chance to heal from the difficulties of 2008. But, we will have to guard against false hopes and deception. Even so, we may be given a glimpse of what we are truly capable of being.
Assuming you just read that analysis, let me expand upon it further. The bad news is that Jupiter will no longer soften the effect of Pluto in Capricorn. The good news is that Jupiter will not amplify the effect of Pluto in Capricorn. Instead, Jupiter moving into Aquarius means that Jupiter will interact with Neptune and Chiron to bring a major shift in how we “do business.” Speaking of “Business,” that field is ruled by both Jupiter and Saturn. If Saturn is the source of power for those who benefit from “bear markets,” then Jupiter is the source for those who favor “bull markets.”
Jupiter is saying what is coming to fore in the political world: growth will no longer come from larger corporations who continue to merge into larger corporations. The monoculture of giant, megalithic corporations will only continue to concentrate wealth for a few, leaving the rest of us to suffer. Jupiter is saying that our collective strength will come from recognizing the power of “the people.”
In the past, Democrats were known as “Trust Busters.” Will it happen now? Instead of bailing out the huge banks who have made bad decisions, will we break them up into smaller entities? Will we awaken to the idea that we need to restore power to regional and community banks? Or will we continue to “bail out” banks so they can have junkets on corporate jets and charge the citizenry 30% interest on credit cards?
To be sure, as mentioned in the other article, Mercury will have important interactions with Jupiter. That will be true for other planets, notably Venus, but that’s a topic for another article.
Jupiter transits into Aquarius on January 5th, during the shadow of the Mercury Retrograde. Mercury is Stationary Retrograde January 11th, which makes accomplishment difficult. Many businesses and institutions do not reopen until January 5th, after the holiday. Broadly speaking, they’ll be “in for a surprise,” as we sometimes say here in Dallas.
More on 2009 in Part 2.
Christmas, 2008 (Sextiles, and Conjuncts, and Trines, Oh My!)
December 23, 2008 at 12:34 pm | In Astrology, Holidays, Predictions, Retrogrades | 1 CommentTags: Chiron, Mars, Mercury, Neptune, newmoon, retrograde, satrun, Saturn, shadow, solstice, Uranus, Venus, wordpress
For this column, since about September or October of 2008, I usually follow two rules: (1) Keep it Short (two or three, maybe four, paragraphs); (2) Keep it Simple (Most people don’t really care if Mercury Sextiles Uranus or not, but they DO want to now that this would be a time for creativity in both finances and the arts.) This time, I’m going to break both of those rules.
Before I go any further, I want to may plugs for two sites I’ve found recently. I like what I’ve seen in both places: (1) http://www.newworldastrology.blogspot.com/ and (2) http://astrologyscout.com/ This last one is an astrology aggregator, and includes my site as well as others.
This prediction is for the general period from the Winters Solstice of 2008 until the following New Moon on Saturday, December 27th.
Tuesday (today): Venus Conjoins Chiron (both in late Aquarius) to bring to the forefront issues of healing. Late Aquarius is really about justice, especially social justice, more than any other part of the Zodiac, including all of Libra. Late Aquarius is the “Libra Decan” of Aquarius, and Aquarius won’t let things rest until the appropriate change has come to pass. Venus is love, beauty, health, and finances, and it joins with the “Wounded Healer” today. Try to resolve disputes today, and if not today by Saturday. Any thoughts that you can cover up or shut up someone will bite you badly, probably within a few days of January 11th.
Wednesday: Just in case you didn’t get yesterday’s message: this period is about healing old wounds. Take a look at your family and your economic sustenance (your business, workplace, or whatever you do to “take home the groceries”). Some innovative ideas may come to you today, but realize that this aspect of Mercury (in Capricorn) Sextile Uranus (in Pisces) will favor Earth and Water Signs the most. Creative finance engendered today will either go very well or very badly. Don’t debt, no matter what the temptation.
Thursday: This is a mostly uneventful Christmas that turns back into “business” as usual in the evening for those on the East Coast, early afternoon for those on the West Coast, and about Midnight for those in the UK. Do what most people do: spend the day with family today. One special exception: (re-read Tuesday): visiting those in Nursing Homes and other Institutions who have been left alone and abandoned. If you know someone who works this day (nurse, police officer, etc.), please do something special for them. A special, and unexpected, gift may come to you if you do these things today (or yesterday).
Friday: Issues from the time of the Full Moon on December 12th to Monday December 15th have re-surfaced due to yesterday evenings “T-Square” activation of the “Grand Cross” of that time. For you, that means today has a kind of frantic feel to it. This isn’t just about returning goods or “re-gifting” or any of that stuff. Urgent issues come to light, and not enough time seems available. Actually, you are right. Not enough time is available, and that situation will get worse, much worse, between now and January 11th. Don’t be afraid to work as hard as you need to; do “get things done.” Remember, today is mostly about cleanout and planning. Do NOT launch any new ventures until Monday. (However, you might want to refer to the Daily Planetary Guide and Jim Shawvan’s note of a Cazimi period about 7am EST on Saturday morning.)
Saturday: The VERY short Cazimi period is useful to get a very SMALL handful of focused items done. This lasts for a MAXIMUM of an hour, starting about 6:30 AM EST. After that, the rest of today is about “down time.” Play if you will, but don’t do anything dangerous or “too” physical. Today is a good day for romance, but probably a bad day for anything to last. Romances STARTED today (you meet that special new person) have a tendency to fizzle, and that will probably happen by January 11th.
Think of Saturday as “Love Potion #9″ day: you’ll be kissing everything in sight, until you kiss the Policeman and 11th and Vine.
Mercury Retrograde: Why do I keep mentioning January 11th? That is the day of the Mercury Retrograde station for the next retrograde. We’ll be entering the “storm” phase soon, and getting things done will be difficult. Expect misplaced items, lost messages, and delays. If you DO “clean house” during this period, then the few weeks after January 11th can become very useful as you can focus the retrograde energy on rediscovering old projects that deserve a second look. Please have you vehicle (car, boat, or otherwise) serviced as soon as possible. You don’t want “that” kind of surprise.
