A shift in energy happens this weekend, and you will feel it. These days should be clustered together because this is one weekend that will “spill over” into next week.
Saturday the Moon is still in Capricorn, as Friday, and Financial Markets will somehow feel this. Mars Trines Saturn, which brings a sort of “closure” the the Mars Sextile Uranus of Thursday.
Innovative ideas may be squashed in favor of the status quo. We may hear some kind of government pronouncement about the military, but it will favor keeping the status quo rather than “change.” (Saturn (status quo) is the last to whisper in the ear of Mars (military, police, violence, violent criminals).
Meanwhile, Venus has aligned to favor Uranus (women, as a group, may find that they are VERY bored with the status quo), and Mars is “forced” to communicate with Venus. Some military / police officers may find themselves locked out of their homes by their wives or daughters.
The Moon, the other major feminine planet, speaks to everyone this day, but Venus has the the last word. This could indicate a mother / daughter alliance in a family (or other) dispute.
The VERY last word in this drama, though, belongs to the children (and the communicators) who can point at the supposed authority figure and say “he did it.” (Think of the final few scenes of the movie “Witness.”)
The Moon leaves all this behind as it enters a void and then Aquarius about 1am in Dallas (7am in UK). The Moon then conjoins Jupiter followed with a conjunction with the Sun which produces a Solar Eclipse. (You should read the Friday discussion of Jupiter’s influence). This Eclipse will be particularly life-changing for some people because of the intense Jupiter involvement. Higher education, travel (and diplomacy), and the courts will become particularly pronounced for some people, and, in fact, the population of the world will feel it.
Mercury (retrograde, in Capricorn) speaks to Mars Monday (either great Romance or terrible fights). Whatever happens this day, expect to “revisit” it on March 1st (when Mercury and Mars will meet again, but this time in Aquarius with Mercury forward motion).
All of this Mercury / Venus / Mars drama (which can be children, mother, father) is tied into the eclipse. For some, this means father accepts a new job or carreer which carries him far away. (We know this about military and Iraq, but this could be something a bit new or different.)
This, by itself, would be enough, but Tuesday the Moon predictably pulls Chiron (teachers, healers, healthcare, old wounds) into the fray as well as Neptune ( poetry, music, illness, alcohol & drugs, sometime “con-artists”). Illness will clearly be an issue, and we might see a significant “uptick” in the incidence and prevalence of the current strain.
If the Mars / violence issues involved a family alcoholic or drug addict, then Tuesday can be the turning point. I cannot say exactly WHAT KIND of turning point, but a turning point. For some, it will be devastating (possibly suicide). Others will get help and finally become “clean and sober.”
Energies shift again Wednesday, but that is a topic for another post.
December 21, 2008 Winters Solstice

By the time you read this, you wil have likely passed through the longest night of the year. This one was longer than usual, emphasizing its power.
Ancients viewed this night as a time of great evil. Later, the event was reframed as the birth of the Sun (dawn) occured after the event of the Solstice. The Sun will actually rise before the PRECISE point of the Solstice in the UK & Europe, but most of the US (except the East Coast) will experience the sunrise after the Solstice.
Okay, what does that mean? For some of us, in the U.S., Sunday will be a powerful day; however, this particular power will not be felt until Monday for the UK & Europe.
This power is the power of rebirth. Some believe that ALL resurrection myths arose from the reframing of the “long night” into the (re-)birth of the Sun. From this point, until the Summer Solstice, the Sun grows in power.
This power is usually not obvious until after the Spring Equinox. This, this dawning, and Winter, is a time to recognize hidden sources of power and how a seed grows roots before it breaks the surface as a sprout.
That is the proper use of this power. By 7PM EST (midnight in the UK) the Moon has moved into Scorpio, and THAT further indicates the power of hidden growth.
Take a moment to look at forgotten projects. Clean out the garage or messy closet and find the lost object that will help you resurrect a project that helps you find freedom, joy, comfort, or whatever is your heart’s true desire.
The only “weakness” of this day may be a temptation to make unnecessary expenditures. Temper you judgment with the wisdom available to you today.
December 1, 2008 Last Chance Lotto Ticket

Hopefully you were able to benefit from the magnificent energy of the past few days. Windows this benevolent are rare. My tendency, later, is to want a “do-over.” Of course, we do not ever really get a “do-over.” But, sometimes, we can change the path we are upon.
If you are in the UK, you still have a window of opportunity. But, here in the U.S., the moon becomes void about between 1030 and 11 am EST. A particularly powerful LAST CHANCE occurs between “about” 10am and 1030am. But, by 11am, kiss it goodbye if you haven’t taken action upon it and (ideally) completed it. If it must be mailed, mail it by 1030am.
The “message in the bottle” must be launched by that time.
By 11am, we have entered the contemplative period of a void. If you are smart, then you can harness this energy too. Remember, this is a good time to clean up and clean out. Oddly, sometimes lost objects turn up in a void, or just thereafter. Tuesday looks good, too, just not nearly as good as this final window. But, by Wednesday, “things” start to become “odd” again.
Saturday, November 29, 2008 Great Opportunity

Usually, in astrology, especially with the techniques I use, we speak of difficulty.
Although difficulty abounds, at this time you will encounter one of the greatest opportunities of your life. If it involves “easy money,” then shy away from it. That isn’t it. But, if it might involve some work, take a look. Hard work is even better. This window is open though, roughly, November 30th. Then, it closes.
November 18, 2008 A Fork in the Road

Today is all about a “fork in the road.” A Yod, or “finger of God,” exists with the Moon in Leo and the forks shown by Uranus in Pisces and Jupiter & Venus in Capricorn. Leo is about leadership. This day affects leaders more than others, but it also brings out the natural leadership in all of us.
The fork between Pisces and Capricorn will force us to choose between the idalistic and the practical. Uranus (aka Prometheus) is in Pisces and brings us innovations in areas of art, music, poetry, and similar areas. Capricorn is about practicality. Venus is about love & beauty, but Venus is also about finances and building the practical. Venus can be especially about farms. Jupiter is about growth and expansion, in this case in things Capricorn such as large corporations and corporate leadership.
The choice will be between idealistic innovation and practical focused growth. No matter which choice we make we can benefit, but either choice will, at some point, leave us wondering what might have happened had we considered the other path. Inconjuncts, from which yods are built, are characterized by dissatisfaction.
Water Signs: Pisces, Cancer & Scorpio will tend to choose the innovative today. Some Cancerians, particularly those who have birthdays currently opposed by Jupiter or Venus might choose the practical route.
Earth Signs: Capricorn, Taurus, & Virgo will tend to opt for the practical path. Some Virgos might choose the innovative path, particularly if their birthday is currently opposed by Uranus.
Air Signs: Neither Gemini nor Libra will like the choices presented, but Gemini will be most productive with the innovative and Libra with the practical. Aquarius will face both decisions the same as Leo: essentially split 50/50.
Fire Signs: Aries, like leader, would be wise to pick the practical. Leo, like Aquarius, will have a dead center 50/50 choice. “Things” are complicated for Sadge. Except for the handful of Sadge natives born on December 17th or later, I’d recommend the practical. I’d be willing to bet that Steven Spielberg is working on some particularly interesting project at this time.
Choose as you may; tomorrow is a new day.
Mayan Calendar (2012) and Saturn in Scorpio 1
October 12, 2008 at 3:43 pm | In Editorial, Predictions | Leave a CommentTags: 2012, Capricorn, Mayan, Pluto, Saturn, saturn scorpio pluto capricorn 2012, scorpio
I’ll probably have a number of posts to write about this, but I’d like to write a short one now. Saturn is in Virgo and Pluto is in Capricorn. Both are malefics, both are trine, and Pluto is in Saturn’s home. What does this mean? I think that the answer to that is unfolding currently.
“2012″ seems to divide people into two camps: those who have heard about it and are terrified, and those who either haven’t heard of it or don’t care. I’m in a third: I think it is a curiosity, but I haven’t put much stock into it.
I’d like to point out a few interesting astrological issues, though. (1) Saturn will move into Scorpio, which is MUCH tougher than Virgo; and (2) Saturn and Pluto will be in mutual reception.
I could stop there; those two would be enough by themselves. But those born in the mid 1980s will be entering or about to enter their Saturn returns. A number of astrologers call this generation the “Chernobyl” or “Columbine” generation. The Challenger Space Shuttle disaster happened in 1986. Some have watched this generation cautiously, and I note that they begin their Saturn returns at that time.
All of this is far away, but I would offer that the current events will set the stage for those events, four years away. This election is profound, but the following one will be even more profound.
Scorpio rules (1) things underground; (2) poisons in general; and (3) especially liquids that are poisonous. Easily deduced from #1, #2, and #3, Scorpio rules crude oil generally, with Neptune & Pisces controlling the pipes. Saturn is cardinal earth, it tends to make things shrink, and it also tends to “dry up” things.
So, four years in advance, I offer this. The current “difficulties” are preparing us for what is ahead, four years from now. We are NOT having a “Great Depression,” yet, but if we do not make major changes to conserve and manage resources better, we might encounter such problems by 2012. The current “financial woes” are a wake up call.
Earth Kite of June 28th of 2008

Saturday will provide an energy for Earth & Water signs similar to that for Fire & Air on Friday. The “lessons” are a little different, though, because Fire & Air (Friday) were learning to deal with anger & aggression through the healing power of faith & hope.
If you kept your cool on Friday (difficult here in Dallas, and worse in Phoenix), then you likely had a good day. The same is true for Saturday, but you’ll encounter a “surprise,” possibly in the form of some secret (maybe yours, maybe someone else’s) being revealed.
My take on it: unless you must catch up from Friday (probably Capricorn or Virgo), this is a good day to go play. Please do, and be careful out there.
